We have mixed feelings about Ariana's but give it the benefit of the doubt and on only one visit can't be too critical. We had a breakfast on a drive up the coast. We used to live in Salinas, so knew Park Row in previous years. Ariana's was new to us, but the surroundings were familiar. We ordered burritos. Mine was Chili Colorado, wife had a sandwich. The burrito was mostly rice, rice and more rice with a few beans for decoration. The amount of pork was minimal. Had to dig around to find it. Might have been just an off day for the cook as everyone else was keen to order eggs Benedict and other breakfast items. Also, the reviews raved about their home-made salsa and that was, to me, pretty blah. Not a good experience and I hope we are the exception. We will return on a future trip as it is a very local and well respected place to eat. read more

Honestly good food and the older lady is super nice. I went and paid half my tab in cash and the rest in card. Couple days later I see they charged the full amount to my credit card. I called up to see if we can fix it and they asked for the receipt but I threw it away since I always go there didn't think anything would happen. I tried calling the restaurant and the guy who works there is a a**hole. Told me he couldn't do anything to come see here In person but I work and they close at 3 everyday so I can't and he just hung up. I tried calling in weekend to try and talk to the main lady the same guy answered and wanted to be a jerk and tell me "you didn't hear me the first time ? Come see her in person I'm not going to help you so stop calling and come In person" but rude voice and hella attitude for no reason. Honestly it caught me off guard because I was talking respectfully and I just wanted to fix it because I always eat there... but I will never eat there again or recommend it to anyone cuz that a**hole chef. Hopefully the owner sits down with him and takes away his privileges he shouldn't be around customers let alone answer phone calls. read more

We came here since I saw they had cafe de oya. Not the best but a decent cup of coffee. I had chilaquiles divorciados (simply means you get both red & green) and they were great the chilaquiles were crispy. My hubby had the huevos rancheros and says they were good. Staff was very friendly and attentive. When we told them it was our first time they explained the menu & answered all our questions. We will defiantly return! read more

Anytime we are in the Salinas area, we find our way to Ariana's for breakfast. Always friendly and quick service along with delicious, authentic Mexican food. Our favorites are the chilaquiles divorciados which comes with half red and half green sauce. The sauces have excellent flavor! The machaca is also a favorite. Highly recommend. read more

We've been here a few times now. Today we had the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce wasn't up to par. It was slightly sweet with no hint of lemon, disappointing. The hash browns tasted stale and the oil they were fried in was rancid you could taste it. I get that they're trying to keep the cost of food down but I wish they would use a better quality of bread it's like the cheapest bread you can find. Also wish they would serve better sausage I don't care for those hockey pucks. Their omelets are a bit of a mess. Their service is always great and the coffee is decent and only 2.29 a cup. read more

We came here based off of the good yelp reviews.. extremely disappointed in the service. After sitting down another group (middle aged white men) sat down after us. They were greeted, given a menu, and coffee. As for us (Hispanic family of 3) we were still not helped. They took the other tables order before even acknowledging we were there. We were rudely given the menu. They did not even give us a minute to read the menu and we were asked if we were ready to order.. food came out rather quickly. Not the best or the worst food. I made a quick trip this weekend to my hometown of Salinas for a cousin's funeral, and I found this place on Yelp (where else). My brother and I were hungry for breakfast and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with over medium eggs, beans and rice, while my brother ordered the country eggs Benedict (sausage Patty instead of Canadian bacon). The salsa verde on the chilaquiles had just enough bite without being soggy, the tortilla chips were nice and crispy, and the eggs were cooked just right. The beans and rice complimented the meal perfectly. I was going to order the optional carne asada to go on top of the chilaquiles, but honestly, I didn't miss it. The Señora, presumably the proprietor, came by our table three times with a big smile to see how we liked it. No small feat, considering how busy they were. We are very well for $41 plus tip. I will definitely return to this excellent local spot when I am in town. read more

One of the worst places to eat in Salinas. DO NOT GO HERE. It is dirty, food is atrocious, customer service is abysmal, and they mischarge customers. - [ ] When we arrived we were greeted with a swarm of flies buzzing around everywhere. Tables were also dirty and had food remains that were not cleaned from previous customers. - [ ] The bacon cheeseburger we ordered was a frozen patty mess, the bacon was crusty, and the bread was drenched in grease. The fries that went with the cheeseburger were equally as bad as they were stale and tasted like the school cafeteria variety. - [ ] When we complained about it to our waitress she took our plate and informed the owner of the restaurant. He came over to our table and asked what was wrong with it and we told him it did not taste good and if he could bring us tacos instead. He brought the tacos after they were done and before we could finish the plate had the waitress bring our check. In it we found that they charged us half the price of the cheeseburger that was sent back and our other parts of the order. - [ ] On top of that they mischarged the whole bill (see attached picture). When we complained with our waitress we were told that we were still going to be charged the cheeseburger that was sent back because we were wasting perfectly good food and that they could package it up if we wanted. We obviously said no and paid the incorrect amount so we could leave. read more

I went to Ariana's and , I was eating the cheese burger and it was , horrible no taste I almost threw up disgusting, anyways the waitress was nice , and while I was eating I was looking at the waitress cleaning tables and I see a old man /the owner ' taking the waitress tips and putting it in his pocket I was appalled , that's ridiculous that's illegal to take the waitress/ waitress tips in general and after I left I was checking to see if the old man was going to take the tip I left for the waitress and I saw an old lady take the tip i was like what is that and the old lady is the owner aswell , that's insane, if you are leaving a tip give it the waitress,/waiter do not leave it on the table and crazy that they do that , I can have them shut down! read more

Physical ambiance isn't much but that's perfect for this place located in a strip mall. Bacon is extra crispy and - I'm not big on pancakes - theirs are out of this world. Pretty far into Salinas and doesn't look like much, but a nice spot with good breakfast and Mexican food. The service is wonderful and the menu is large. It's definitely geared more towards the older generation, as most of the clientele is older couples but it makes it so cozy. Good low key breakfast or brunch. read more

We've only come here for breakfast. Some of the dishes are good. Their hashbrowns are excellent but wish they'd give you a bigger portion. County potatoes are meh very plain. I like their salsa too. The eggs Benedict were excellent, perfectly poached eggs on a nice big thick piece of tender ham. The food usually comes out fast and the coffee is free flowing and included in some breakfast specials. The service is excellent. I met my 81 year old parents at Ariana's for my lunch break which I have from 12-1. I work on S. Main. My parents were already sitting down when I arrived at 12:05 pm. Two men and another table of four women showed up after we had sat down. After sitting there for a bit, our order was finally taken. At about 12:40 we asked about our order... he stated they were working on it. I explained we had already been there for 40 minutes and I had to be back to work by 1. I then look over and the two men I walked in with at the same time were about done with their meals and the four women were already eating. At 12:51, I went to the counter and explained I could no longer wait as I had to get back to work. He stated the order was almost ready and became upset with us because we no longer wanted to wait. I looked on the counter and there was only one plate ready to be taken to our table. With irritation, he told the cook to stop working on our order. Needless to say, my parents and I did not eat lunch. :( Very disappointed with the service and attitude towards us when the restaurant was the one with poor customer service. read more

We were just passing through town and came across this charming restaurant in a very large but dated shopping center. I can eat breakfast at any hour of the day and that's what it said on the window. This place has really good service and was quick/easy to grab lunch on the go. The BLT was ok, there wasn't anything super special about it and I expected it to be a little bigger, but it was pretty decent. For the BLT with fries and a soda I spent about $12. My daughter and I ate here Sunday morning at about 10 am. It seems that we just beat the Sunday morning church crowd. Came here for the first time with my husband. He had the huevo Rancheros and I had the chili verde omelet. Service unfortunately was really slow, it took about 45 minutes to get our food. My husband was unimpressed by his meal but the chili verde omelet was delicious. That was about it though. The rice was over salted, the house salsa tasted like I was eating straight red pepper flakes, and the flour tortillas were hard. I asked for sour cream and never received it. Received lukewarm, watery coffee and son asked for water shortly after seated & waitress took orders ~5mins later; food received 20 mins later. Noticed smell of cinnamon as waitress passed by to table next to us. Wasn't aware until after second refills offered of the bland coffee, and third pass from waitress that the table next to us had gotten fresh hot cinnamon coffee; a waitress then offered the cinnamon coffee to us at which point we were two bites from completing our meals. I did mention it to the elderly hostess (? Owner) at check out who then offered me a cup to go, but too late. The food was usual diner fare, nothing creative + stingy with strawberries on french toast & no whipped cream, and the less than stellar customer service/coffee issue was something that influenced any desire to return. read more
