The Korean guy didn't wanna finish the job, and told me to reschedule for another week. I was like - "you had time to work on installing the lights earlier, now I have to wait another week, and it's an hour job?" I felt like he was pushing me away, because the job wasn't a lot of money. Then called me back probably after feeling guilty and told me to be there in 30 mins. When I returned, the guy that was ACTUALLY working on the car said he'd charge me $150 instead, and I still didn't have a problem with that. Once again, I waited in the lobby until the job was done. The Korean guy was walking out with some staff members / guests, and it felt like he was tryna be funny when he asked me - "Why are you still here? Are you waiting on your car (In front of them)." In my mind I was thinking - why else would I be here? Im a black business owner, investing in your service, what other reason would I be here (as i waited playing a game on my phone)? Later the Korean guy came back, and was like - "alright they're done, but ima have to charge you another half hour for $185," I was like - Oh that guy who worked on the car said it was gonna be $150. He then went into some explanation about 'the part' (the led kit) not being theirs, so he has to charge me more (didn't make sense at all). I knew i was getting scammed out of money. So, when i proceeded to pay for the work, he said - alright it's gonna be $217.39 (just to install some lights), I was like, "I thought you said it was gonna be..." (At this point I knew I wasn't coming back, if he was gonna do a black ppl like the way he did me, I would have never come by).

Be patient if you leave a couple voicemails with days in between a call back (or weeks). When you're good it means you're busy. Then stop worrying once you're booked because this will be a less expensive journey than usual. You'll get a legit assessment of what needs done, and no pressure to change those filters or wiper blades (or timing belt) if you don't want to. No frills means low overhead; gravel lots with a few cars like the windows-down 2-door Mercedes parked means you're not paying for all the marketing. It's just car-fixing like it should be. Last time I went in thinking I needed a complete wiper reservoir replacement. Nope, just a wiper fluid hose for pretty cheap. We'll keep coming back since cars don't fix themselves. Currently I'm not at all fretting about our teenager's car we just had towed in after stalling in an intersection. How bad could it be? And of course I'll continue wondering how much he'd charge to get that old Mercedes in his lot back on the road. 3 different issues, 2 different vehicles. Vehicle 1- '75…read moreford bronco. Rebuilt both front and rear axles. Had to have the rear rebuilt a second time. The front axle didn't get new wheel bearings when they rebuilt it. Had to have someone else do it, and within 24 hours instead of a week and a half. Vehicle 2- 2011 Nissan Pathfinder Muffler issues. Ended up having to pay 1800 for new catalytic converters. Less than 2 years later, had to replace one of the cats because it was disintegrating. I used to think this shop was on the up and up, but after all the money I have spent and had to have the work done twice- no thank you. From now on, I take my vehicles to ProTech.
