I have gone to Cherokee Auto tech for over 10 years now. Even though I moved 20+ miles from the workshop, I continued to go there for help - as I trusted what I heard (never checked with another workshop). But the last experience (this past week) has definitely made me realize that one should trust but verify. For headlight repair and minimal body work (to make sure the head light can be installed), Cherokee auto tech charged me more than twice the quote I received from a collision repair shop (unfortunately I had committed to get help from cherokee auto tech by the time I learnt the quote from collision repair shop) and the job that would take 2 days took 6 days for Cherokee auto tech. The owner gave no consideration to my requests/inputs on repairs I needed and continued to insist (and completed) on the repairs he would do, no consideration to 6 days it took to complete the job (before the start of the job told me 3 days, on day 1 indicated 4 days, on day 2 indicated 7 days). Lesson learnt - hard one though, spent more than twice the money and got below par customer service. read more

This shop does not even deserve one star. I brought my van here based on a recommendation from a towing company. Unfortunately, I was ripped off $1300 and had to have the vehicle towed back there when it broke down on I-75 the day after "It was fixed". This was right after Christmas, and I was on my way to Florida. I was beyond upset when told that it wasn't what they thought after all, and I would need a rebuilt transmission for $5000. I asked Vincent for my $1300 back since they didn't fix it and he refused.I did not want them to further touch my vehicle. I then took my car to a REPUTABLE transmission shop in downtown Acworth called Acworth Transmission and Repair (HONEST MECHANICS!!! Take your car here if you want excellent work done) Not only did they tell me Vincent should have never touched my van, but they also stated that the part he put in was crap and maybe worth a couple hundred of dollars and not $1300! They also stated that the codes were still showing up and had Vincent looked, he would have known it was a transmission problem to begin with. BTW, Vincent knows the mechanic who worked on my van at Acworth Transmission and Repair, and knows he is an expert. Basically, Vincent and his team had no idea what was wrong with my van, and stole $1300 from me. Even after telling him I was a single parent and $1300 was a lot for me, he still refused to give it back and do the right thing. My Mom had also just passed away which Vincent knew about, but still decided to take advantage of me. I hope this review saves others from being ripped off by a shop with no integrity or decency. read more

Two days ago on 9/7/19 I picked my truck up from Cherokee Auto Tech. I had a new starter put on and a Fly Wheel. I was reluctant to have it done as they need to pull the transmission. Whenever you start to pull transmissions, it seems as if things go wrong. But it was necessary. This morning while driving to get more supplies for a project I'm working on, my truck wouldn't catch gears properly while traveling to Peachtree City. It finally stopped on me on Exit 61 off of I-85 South. I was miles away from my destination, had to have it towed back to Acworth. I took video of everything. The shop owner Vincent whom I've dealt with for years automatically jumped to issue that it was the transmission. I stated that there wasn't an issue prior to his pulling my transmission and there was. He walked away. I've referred clients to him over the years. My family said that they thought he was becoming crooked. I vehemently disagreed, even when reading some of the bad reviews. He seems to be overwhelmed with running the repair shop and transmission shop. After today, I'll never do business with this guy again, totally dishonest. I left my truck there, reluctantly. He called me back for the key I left with. I highly recommend Cherokee Auto Tech. The service is quick, efficient and reasonably priced. I have had to bring my raging piece of crap van in twice in the last month and I feel like they've saved my a$$ both times. They have never tried to up sell me and have actually removed an installed part that wasn't needed at no cost. I had been quoted 3 times the price that they've charged me for service from another shop. i really appreciate them calling with updates about what they're doing to my vehicle before they add it to the bill. We have three older cars. The first few times we used them we were pleased...his prices seemed lower and service was prompt. But over the years we started having problems. We had to return twice because of a bad shock absorber he installed...most likely not installed correctly. He replaced a fuel pump, and a year and a half it later it failed. We found out he only warranties ANY parts for ONE year, period. Replacing a fuel pump is expensive. Visiting another mechanic I found out he had charged me for top shelf spark plug cables, but installed standard. If you wanted it fixed the right way and have it last, find some place else. read more

AWFUL DO NOT LET THEM FIX YOUR CAR. Car Corner sent them my Toyota Fj and they could not figure out what was wrong so we had to drive down there and show them and then they replaced the passenger side output differential seal and left the dust cover off and replaced the rear shocks and that wasn't even the problem. Now we know the front differential is completely coming apart and the fluid is leaking out again and we have to pay thousands. They could not figure out what was wrong so they fixed what was not broken. That should be illegal. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE read more

Best auto repair and service shop I have ever found in all my 33 years of driving. Vincent is a genius. Accurate, efficient and incredibly affordable. I recommend them to any and everyone I know. To fish out a broken dipstick in my mini cooper was going to cost $485 at a local competitor, Vincent did it for $28 which included an oil change. You cannot beat the quality and prices at Cherokee Auto Tech. Vincent is not an honest man. He put a fog light on my car and he did not install it correctly. Within 3 miles the brand new light that I paid for fell out and I actually ran it over!!!! I called him on it and now he is trying to say that a scoff mark that was on my car for years must be brand new and he refuses to replace the light. You read and you decide --- Saw spot on garage floor - oil leak? Cleaned spot, took to Cherokee Auto Tech, valve covers' gaskets (V 6), CAT 'fixed' for $158.77 on 4/17/12. 2nd - spot on garage floor, oil leak? CAT said crankcase seal and valve cover gasket - bad part, they wouldn't cover, I paid to have 'fixed' $485.00 on 4/13/15. 3rd spot on garage floor! CAT said oil pan gasket, I paid to have 'fixed' and O2 sensor $520.00 on 6/18/15. 4th spot on garage floor, CAT said rear seal.This time I asked CAT if I paid for this, would they guarantee completely, unequivocally no more oil leaks, the owner said yes I paid for that and clutch, supplied my own parts (remember oil pan gasket CAT supplied failed) $485.51 on 6/6/15. 5th spot on garage floor, CAT's owner said guarantee not covered because the 'part failed' and I supplied part. I said part failed immediately, car is 3rd car, only saw oil leak because had to pull car out, odometer hadn't increased more than 50 miles. CAT offered to 'fix' for $165.00 on 9/12/15. Understand, every time I had car 'fixed' @ CAT, I solvent cleaned garage floor because I believed - oil leak 'fixed.' I challenged CAT @ every occurrence and CAT always replied with some kind of smarmy answer. So, I always gave CAT the benefit of the doubt until this last time when I was fed up and asked, point blank, for a complete guarantee. CAT advertises for Auto Mechanic all the time and in this case, never offered up the possibility that throughout the history of these oil leaks that installation error could be a factor.
