I just want to start off by saying that Airang Hibachi is usually my go to for all my special event! I love it here but this evening was not the best at all. Today we came to celebrate my kids graduation. The waiter Peter was horrible. He rushed us when ordering, messed up my drink order and didn't ask us what dressing we wanted on our salad. When I questioned him he looked like he was annoyed. I did speak with a guy name Rob and he brought over a assistant and she was helpful. The cook name was Amir. He was a nice guy but he was very quiet. He didn't put on a show like the other cooks usually do. Today wasn't the best and I am very disappointed read more

I love Hibachi and was looking forward to this location. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and was greeted and sat at one of the Hibachi grills. The cook came out and out on a good show. Celebrated my birthday here with family. As always, the food was amazing, choice was well put together, and there was plenty of it. Had to bring some home. Got an allergy? They cater for that. Our Chef was great, very entertaining, and interacted with us all. The place itself is very inviting, with music playing throughout. The staff even celebrate special occasions with you with lights, music and song. Well worth the money. read more

This is my first time at this restaurant and I did not have a good impression. It seems like everyone comes here for their birthday parties and we did the same. We had a reservation for 5:30pm and did not get seated until 6:15pm. The hostess told us that it may take up to 30 min to seat us from the start of our reservation time. I noticed a group cancelling their slot after waiting for so long even though they had a reservation. It seems more like a "walk in" place than a reservation place. Management should look into the way they are scheduling people. It seems like double booking to me. This causes a lot of chaos and frustrated customers, especially when reservations are accepted and there is a 90 minute dining time limit. After sitting down, we had to wait a while before our order was taken. Then we waited a while for the chef to come and cook the food. I believe he came 45 minutes after we sat down. The food wasn't bad. I thought the meat (chicken and steak) was pretty good but the noodles were a bit salty. We didn't have much of a performance from the chef compared to what I'm used to at other hibachi places. While we were in the middle of eating, then staff brought out to-go containers and paper bags. This made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Especially since we waited so long to be seated. We were nowhere near the 90 min dining limit. Overall I think this place is overhyped. read more

We went for their Valentine's Day (dinner and hibachi show). The show was fun, food was tasty. Drinks were also good and on the stronger side Service was a bit slower that day since it was a busy night. Had to remind our server a few times to get us drinks, the check. I've been to a few hibachi restaurants before Arirang and a few since, but this is by far the best in the area, the food was fresh and the hibachi presentation was great as well. The ambiance is nice & the drinks were also great. My only complaint is that although we had a reservation the wait was chaotic! We had 6:00 reservations, arrived got at 5:50 and still waited until 6:30 to be seated,l. While they have mastered the food, they need to work on being a little more organized with the seating part. Lastly, I would also suggest upgrading the lighting in the parking lot, it's extremely too dark. Overall my experience was pretty good, I would definitely recommend them and go again, may just on a less busy night. read more

Our service was more than I expected. From the point of arrival to leaving the restaurant. Our waitress was on point and in my opinion went above and beyond. Very friendly and welcoming. When placing order she did everything by memory (party of 4) writing nothing down. When the food came out starting with appetizers, to main course through desserts nothing was missed and the correct dishes place in front of us... amazing. Went here on a Sunday night and it was so packed. I was grateful to get parking. Sat at the bar. Enjoyed some drinks sushi and appetizer sampler. My family and I typically visit the Sayreville location but we now live closer to Mountainside so it was our first time there. We made reservations for 6:30 on a Monday evening. We arrived around 6:15. We were told that there was a 1/2 hr wait. After waiting 20 minutes we were seated. The server's name was Max and he was totally unfriendly. He asked me something and I didn't understand so I asked him to repeat. He was bothered and gave me a nasty attitude. Um ok? We placed our drink and meal order immediately. The drinks came fairly quickly and so did our soup and salads. Then we sat and sat. Finally the chef came. He was very entertaining. The amount of garlic he used was unbearable for my group. I am Italian and enjoy garlic but this was way too much. Even for my 3 year olds. When the chef was done, we sat and sat again. Finally someone came over to box up our meals. Nobody asked why I'd didn't eat any of my food. I packed it up hoping it would be better the next day but I was wrong. Disgusting. Not worth $150 dinner. The ice cream was the best part! read more

It's no wonder why & how they are still thriving after all these decades. Kenny's plancha game was TOP notch. Literally the best entertainment we've experienced yet... and we've been coming for 25 yrs (combined).
