I've had the pleasure of going to Sweet Waters many times and have been wanting to write a review. The last time I went to Sweet Waters was 2 weeks ago and myself and my coworkers had an amazing and delicious meal. Kenny my go to server once again did not disappoint whatsoever! He was gracious and really worked hard to fit our reservation in on a busy Saturday evening. We were a party of 8 and had a visitor in town who we wanted her to experience a wonderful and delicious dining experience, and that we did!! We started with some appetizers of Octopus, salad and shrimp, chorizo and artichoke dishes. All perfectly cooked and so delicious. We all had some yummy cocktails, one in particular which I can't remember the name was sooo refreshing, and it had some cucumbers. Next for entrees 2 of us shared a chateaubriand which came with 2 delicious and ample size sides.of truffle fries and asparagus. This was my first time trying chateaubriand and it was so tender, juicy and cooked perfectly, and a generous size portion for 2 ppl. My 3 other colleagues shared a porterhouse which came with 3 ample sides, once again truffle fries, Mac and cheese and mushrooms. And they all enjoyed immensely and not one morsel left. The 3 other colleagues and guest had filet mignon with mashed potatoes, a fish dish I can't remember with a side and the last coworker had a primavera risotto, not on the menu but Kenny so generously suggested and had made for her because she recently had some dental work and couldn't really bite anything too hard. For dessert we had 3 different types of dessert, tres leches, chocolate mousse pie and almond cake. All were so delicious but the Tres Leches was the BEST I've EVER HAD!!!! Sooo yummy and tasty! Overall just a truly wonderful dining experience with beautiful presentations, perfectly cooked food sooo good and satisfying and of course Kenny is hands down the best server at Sweet Waters!! Every birthday and anniversary we like to try someplace new. Sweet Waters was this year's anniversary dinner choice. We were seated right away at an intimate table for two near the end of the bar. Our waiter asked us our water preference and fulfilled it immediately and brought us a basket with bread and butter to hold us over until our entrees arrived. My wife chose the Chilean sea bass which came with Cannellini beans, spinach, garlic in a white wine sauce. I chose the 8 ounce filet mignon (medium rare) with grilled asparagus. I also added a 4 ounce lobster tail. To drink, my wife chose a glass of Chianti (she dislikes white wine). I chose a California Cabernet Sauvignon. This may be the most schizo review I've ever done. I really want to love this place and it has so much good about it. It's nicely appointed, very comfortable seating, outstanding professional servers who really know the menu and the wine list. Plus friends of mine who dine at some of the finest restaurants in the Metropolitan area love this place. It's just that in my two visits here the steak has been relatively tasteless. And for a steakhouse, well you get the idea. Maybe they need to do more seasoning. Me and a few buddies left Sweet Waters in a state of euphoric confusion, like we'd just witnessed something beautiful and didn't have the vocabulary for. My stomach was happy. My heart was happy. My wife was not happy I left her home for the night but that's a completely different story. If you haven't been to Sweet Waters in Westfield, you're walking around like someone who hasn't discovered oxygen yet. Fix that immediately. Our waiter, Will, was nothing short of a consummate pro. The twitch muscles in his wrists at the end of his martini pours is something that should be studied in a lab. Absolute beast. The kind of person who's not only naturally gifted but truly takes pride in his craft. It's not every day you come across a person who has it all. We'll be back. Had an amazing Valentine's Day dinner with my sweetheart tonight. We love Sweet Waters Steak House as it never disappoints. We were seated right away by the hostess in a cozy table for two in the side room towards the rear of the restaurant. The young gentleman asked us our water preference and fulfilled it immediately and brought us a basket with biscuits and butter as well. We started our meal with the grilled octopus and wedge salad to share. Our server was nice enough to have the kitchen split the salad on 2 dishes and we shared the octopus in the middle of the table. Came here for date night with boo boo. we started off with tap water. the rolls that came with the table was white bread blah. not warm, not crusty, just eh ok. I order an old fashion as my special drink. Boo Boo got seltzer with lime. I was confused but more likely the old fashion was hitting me, because when I looked at the side dishes. Some of the potatoes had '(sweet)'. I asked Boo Boo, I wonder what they sweetify because the restaurant is named sweet water. I thought they would jazz it up like loaded potatoes. Boo Boo replied, you idiot it regular potato or sweet potato now hurry up and order I'm starving. we shared the grill octopus, French onion soup, poster casa for 2. for our side we got the mushrooms, truffle fries and loaded potatoes. the food was just okay. the onion soup didn't have charred cheese around the bowl and the onion were not as caramelized as I would like. The truffle fries were lacking in truffle flavor. they may only seasoned the center of the dish. the steak was just ok. it lacked salt. I kept dunking the steak in the house made steak sauce it came with. overall it was just okay. for a special night and the $$$ you pay coming here I'd expect the dishes to be executed better. there's a 3% charge if you pay with CC. read more

My husband and I love discovering new restaurants and always seek out places with exceptional reviews. We chose to dine at Sweet Waters to celebrate a meaningful occasion, but unfortunately, the experience left us deeply disappointed. We arrived around 3:30 PM and opted to sit at the bar. We were given menus right away, but despite being the only ones at the bar, had to ask for our drinks after waiting a while. When we finally placed our order, the wedge salad arrived promptly and was quite good, offering a brief glimmer of hope. We then ordered the filet mignon and New York strip steaks. Water was never offered, and once we finished our drinks, no one came by to ask if we'd like another. The bartender, unfortunately, was disengaged and inattentive--at one point disappearing entirely for nearly 10 minutes, leaving no one tending the bar as more guests arrived. The bread that was brought out resembled reheated dinner rolls--dense, doughy, and unappetizing. When our steaks arrived, they looked promising but were both significantly overcooked. I had ordered mine medium-rare and received medium; my husband's medium steak came out well done. The texture was unpleasant, and the quality of the meat was surprisingly poor for a steakhouse. We reluctantly sent them back--a first for us at a restaurant of this supposed caliber. Throughout the meal, the lack of attentiveness continued. Our empty glasses were cleared without any offer of another drink. My husband sat without a beverage for ten minutes before we had to actively flag the bartender, who had his back turned while polishing glasses. I ordered another premium drink from the cocktail menu after getting the bartender"s attention. When the replacement steaks arrived, my husband's was nearly raw. At that point, we'd had enough. We returned the food, asked for the check, paid--and quietly left, leaving a full $17 cocktail. One could easily assume that we are extremely picky, but that couldn't be further than the truth. My husband and I are quite polite and very down to earth. We enjoy fine dining, and our very generous "tippers." Despite the restaurant's upscale reputation, what was meant to be a special occasion became a disappointing experience marked by poor service, inattentiveness, and shockingly substandard food. We often go to Seasons 52 and Capital Grill, who have consistently excellent food, exceptional service, and bartenders who enjoy having conversations with their patrons. Client relations is something this establishment clearly does not prioritize. The ambience of the restaurant seemed OK. The glasses were beautifully polished. read more

Came here completely randomly. We were going to our usual Brunch spot, but decided to try somewhere new. It's a medium to large venue, that has a mellow/low key vibe, much like a traditional Italian restaurant, but with some more modern flare to it. It's in the heart of downtown Westfield, so there's either metered street parking (not much on this particular street), or metered lot parking within walking distance. Service was great! Our server Eric, was truly a pleasure to talk to, & he had a way of being subtly funny, which was great. If you've ever had the experience of a server who is trying way too hard, you appreciate someone who is just natural, like Eric is. Now for the food, we had Nueske's Slab Bacon, Truffle Fries, Steak House Meatballs, Crab Cake Benedict, White Sangria, & Apple Martini. Everything was great, but there were some true standouts. The Crab Cake Benedict was divine, the Slab bacon was savory and mouth watering, & the All-Star for the day was the Steak House Meatballs. Tender, yet firm (not at all spongy) meatballs in a rich and delicious sauce, with a sweet touch to it. The weakest link we're the truffle fries. They needed that added touch of also having the truffle oil very present on them. The drinks were good & noticeably strong. The Apple Martini was not green, as I'm used to, but still very good. The only negative is that my fork was dirty. Eric swapped it out for me with no problem, but then later one of the table bussers brought me a new one after we finished the bacon, & that one was WAY dirtier than the one I sent back the 1st time. Tried Sweet Waters for a date night. The place was packed on a Saturday, with barely a chair open in the entire place. Luckily we locked in reservations - you aren't going to be able to come in off the street and wait out the crowd! The food and service were excellent, as you'd hope for at an upscale steakhouse in Westfield. I started my meal with French onion soup, which was very good. A theme of the meal was the amount of food received, and the French onion was a great example, served in a large crock. For those who like larger onion petals in their soup, this had plenty. The surprising part of the evening was that the Filet mignon was probably my least favorite menu item. The flavor was okay, seasoning wasn't necessarily there (or at least not discernable), and the accompanying sauce was a little too tangy/sweet for my taste. But the loaded Baked potato completely made up for it - it was enormous, perfectly cooked, and delicious, helping to offset any slight gripes on steak. I also tried the truffle Parmesan fries and the story was the same - HUGE side portion that was so flavorful that it made you forget about your main course. For the dessert course, you can't go wrong with the cheesecake. It's enormous, delicious, and served with a healthy portion of whipped cream. Loved it! read more

The service here is truly 5 stars, worth it to return for that attention and comfort. They have the routine down and give you the attention you want and feel special on for a night out. Definitely recommend reservations as it got major crowded in the tables and around the bar. Their cocktail list is impressive and was not disappointing in execution. We had the stuffed mushrooms to start and it was juicy though underseasoned. Their steaks were exactly what you want and I recommend the au poivre sauce as a tangy condiment. Located in the cute town of Westfield, this is a place for day drinking, people watching and fresh seafood. I really liked they have the a la cart raw seafood - oysters and clams. The Glossal shrimp is smaller on the size but still good. Shrimp crostini is all on one piece of bread unlike the convention. The tuna tar tar does not have as much seafood but the rest of the accompany items are good in flavor - I also really liked that they didn't pickled the tuna to be salty. Came here on Wednesday night with 5 other girls. Unfortunately my party was last minute person so we didnt have a table reserved, but they were able to reserve us spot at the bar. The staff was very accomodating and tons of fun as we were there to celebrate a birthday. I ordered the lamb with the risotto. I was not impressed with the risotto as it was undercooked. My sister order the steak and it was cooked to perfection. I also tasted the crab cake, it was decent and the soup - really good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Bartender made a wonderful rum punch. It was nice to sit outside, I went with my friend and we found the indoor dining room very loud; the service wasn't great, the waiter took the order and showed up to ask about how we liked the meals just when we were done eating or the dishes were taken away. Let me start with saying this could have been a 5 star review but I found a few things that could have been done better. Don't get me wrong with the rating, its a decent place. Waiter was on spot, drinks were good, pleasant ambiance. The Meal: Starting with an order of 12 Chilled Oysters plate, these came quickly and they tasted fresh and clean. For the main course we order two 36 oz. Porterhouse steaks for a group of 6. Steaks came out cooked perfectly, medium rare - great flavor - Excellent. We added, Sautéed Mushrooms, Creamed Spinach, Masked Potatoes, Hot Peppers, French Fires & Nueske's Slap Bacon. The Bacon was to die for, if you like pork belly - you have to treat yourself to this awesome appetizer (which we had with the main course) Mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about as well as the Creamed Spinach. Hot Peppers were delicious - French Fires we cooked nicely, crispy, Sautéed Mushrooms were average at best. We ordered a House Cab for the steak and it was decent. The issue was that the Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach were served at room temperature, not hot or even warm, that was disappointing - I know this isn't Lugers but the sides need to be served hot, asking to have them taken back would probably had been placed in a microwave & I wasn't going to do that. The other issue I had was the ridicules steak knife. This is a steak house not a Diner - it wasn't even sharp and I was tearing the meat with most of my cuts. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We chose this restaurant because we've been here before and had a good experience. Big mistake. We could've gone to Capital Grille and actually received exceptional service and food, but we decided to give this place another shot. Never again. It wasn't even shaken--just some sad, bitter coffee poured into a glass. Absolutely disgusting. But the worst part? The blatant racial profiling we experienced throughout the evening. There were 3 empty tables during this time while we waited. However, they provided us with two complimentary glasses of wine due to mix up. We sat in the back room which was fine with us. After you order, they bring out a basket of hot buns with butter. Very nice start. We began our meal with the grilled octopus. Tasty and cooked fresh. It arrived with a side of arugula salad with a tasty vinaigrette. I ordered the grilled 14 oz porkchop, bake potato, and a side of grilled asparagus and my wife ordered the salmon with a citrus honey glaze and it came with French green beans. The porkchop came with a nice dipping sauce and it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The grilled asparagus was tasty and the portion was very generous. My wife loved her salmon. She loved the glaze that was on it. Both plates almost went back empty...wife. We ordered dessert to go since we were both stuffed and we were glad we did. I would highly recommend the carrot cake. Excellent. Overall the service was very friendly but also very slow. We were there for two hours exactly. From the moment we ordered to the moment we got the check, it was long waits in between courses. The prices were high but also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get.
