Worst experience ever trying to get into and park! The traffic was backed up for 45 minutes on Ellsworth AND Williams Field! People were dropping off their children, young children who were playing volleyball, on Ellsworth Rd in traffic to try to get their players to their games on time. It was a huge hazard to the kids and the cars traveling on Ellsworth. There were no police officers directing traffic and the traffic was backed up for miles! We were there more than an hour ahead of gametime and we finally got into the courts after the game started. Luckily, we were spectators and were not bringing a player. The parking lot is a huge mess. We brought my 97 year old dad with his electric scooter to watch his great granddaughter play. There were no handicap spots and the majority of the people in those spots did not have handicap stickers. Parking was $8.00 and it was a lot of problems to deal with and then have to pay for it. Rediculous! Then it was $20 a person to get in, no matter the age. There was not enough seating inside. People were standing all over the place!!! Trying to get my dad through the crowds with his electric scooter was really hard. This facility books way too many tournaments at a time to accommodate the amount of vehicles and people. It has been a chronic problem since it opened and needs to be fixed. I live in Eastmark just north of this venue and it affects traffic all around us. It won't get fixed until teams stop booking their tournaments there. I'm hoping that is what happens. It is a nice facility, but terrible management and terrible for the players and their families. read more

New Facility but there are too many things that need improvement, which is bad to say for a newly built venue. ENTRANCE- a couple entrances from the street but it gets so backed up that it creates a line extending in the actual streets. You might be waiting 10 minutes or longer just to drive in. PARKING- good luck. parking lot gets really full. They should have made a parking structure, that way you would have covered parking too. ENTRY FEE- Depending on the event, you have to pay just to be a spectator. AMENITIES- decent, they have a concession area inside which gets packed with limited tables to eat at. Snowcone stand inside. I wish there were food trucks outside. They do serve beer which might be the only plus. No outside food or drink allowed inside which is terrible if you have special needs diet. COURTS- many available courts. Bench seating for spectators on both ends. But no nets or barriers between courts. For volleyball there's another game's ball rolling into the other game on every other play. This was annoying and inconvenient. They nickel and dime for money! We pay for tournaments at this facility and then they charge you to watch the tournament you paid to put on! So it is an additional $57 added for the wife and I for the weekend with the parking fee. They should add it to the price of the tournament. They won't be cause people will see what we pay up front to play. Get there early for a long walk and heavy traffic as the book MANY different spot tournaments at the same time. During the summer it is so hot on turf that the kids pour water on their shoes. The winter is cold on the soccer field and you sit in a cloud of dust that is visible. I have 3 kids in club and next year we will refuse to play any tournaments there. There are always tournaments going on that we can do instead. read more

Had a practice there for my sons basketball team. They Double booked our court so we were limited to half of the court that we paid for. When I asked for some sort of concession given the problem, they said that I was welcome to cancel my future reservation as if that solved the problem? Here for a softball tournament currently. They have all eight fields going. The fields are nice, but unfortunately the facility has a lack of other necessary amenities. The bathroom set up cannot support having 8 fields running concurrently with waiting teams and spectators. It is also roughly a hundred yard walk from the fields which can make it challenging for an athlete to get to and from during a game, especially if there is a line for the bathroom. They do not let you bring outside food and drink in other than water, but the food truck options on site can't keep up with demand, making it difficult to feed your athlete in between games. Most of the food options are not necessarily something you want to feed your athlete between games. Other note worthy issues. The cellular service is horrendous on site. I run GameChanger for my team and I had a difficult time getting it to load, I had to walk the property searching for service so I could add the next game and search for the opponent as we advanced through bracket play. Another parent who streams our games on GameChanger could not get a strong enough signal to consistently stream so parents and family who could not be onsite were out of luck. They have really nice carts shuttling people to and from the parking areas to the fields which is a plus. One downside as a spectator is there is only one four foot wide concrete walking path to the fields from the gate, which means the carts are driving through the dirt areas non stop dusting out spectators substantially at times. One of our games and a dust haze over the field most of the game due to the carts running back and forth. Definitely an issue I wasn't expecting to deal with at a turf field. It's five dollars per day to park, and it was around eight dollars per day to get in , or a two day pass was around $12. read more

First this complex is not state of the art as it has porta potties that are not maintained. My family had softball and then football in this complex on the same day and we had to pay entrance fees for both events, as each event is considered separate. No where on the website does it state this. So we spend our money on food and drinks and entrance for a family of 4. Gets pretty expensive. Not to mention the fee to park. They don't take cash and then we as customers have to absorb the fees for the credit card. Absolutely horrible. I wish my kids didn't play here. read more

I have been going to volleyball here for years , I have dropped my daughter off very near the sr24 road and told her to walk, it will take you 30 minutes plus to park, the cost to enter has got to be hard to justify, I would buy three shirts and food over the cost to get in these doors. I don't know how or why tournaments keep being held here, it's a new place and they ruined parking.... How is that possible? I went there early last week, to drop off my daughter, in the "no drop off " area their own golf cart is dropping people off there to hold up traffic, this place is the worst for parking if I haven't mentioned yet, so bad in my opinion it just ruins the whole experience,oh and you might ask how the neighbors feel about this?!?! Lots of parking but far to walk from the lot to the fields. Take your wagons!! Lots of fields and areas for multiple sports. Nice to have multiple food trucks to choose from which sell everything including alcoholic beverages, but take your cards with you. This is a no-cash facility. Hence the less-one-star. Place is in the middle of nowhere, about 4 miles from anything. There is some food and Dutch Bros coffee within a few miles. Best thing about the softball fields: shade over bleachers. There was still plenty of sun but at least umbrellas and easy ups could stay in the car. And maybe I went on a hot May day and people were grumpy, but the people who worked here--at several stations--were not very friendly. Also reason for docking that one star. Luckily I was in nice mode, so I kept my cool. read more

The grounds itself is beautiful but having to pay $80 for 2 adults to watch your kid play in a tournament is crazy. On top of that, trying to find parking is ridiculous. We were not allowed to bring food in but our only option was buying food at the food court or going outside by the soccer fields at the food truck stands. Our girls only had 20min to eat because of their schedule for 1st day. Lines were long for food and some girls did not get to eat until after their tournament. Not sure why the restaurant is closed on such a busy weekend? Most girls were rushing to order food and eat quickly. The lines were long for the bathrooms as well. Let's hope our 2nd day goes a little better. read more

Horrific. It's massive, and as parents of volleyball and soccer athletes, we "gear up" and expect some chaos and large crowds. The lack of awareness on a management level is blasphemy and pure criminal. Massive soccer tournament weekend and ONE (very kind) golf cart driver for those injured or elderly is insane and unsafe. The far west parking lot open for fields on the west side of the facility but then a closed and LOCKED gate with no website warning that there is only ONE access point to enter the facility!!! What kind of place is this!!! Should be forced to close. read more

They charge to park & to get in! Nothing is ever open, the port a John's are disgusting!! The fields are turf and there's these annoying tiny beads everywhere that stick to everything! The reviews say it all. "Under new management." Coaches and parents - be wary booking or ever playing here. Ridiculous amount of fees and charges, even for toddler teams. Parking, per-day fees per person, no water facilities anywhere near the soccer fields, rude staff. Imagine driving in from north Phoenix (80 miles round trip) only to be told $5 per parking, 7.50 per person per day (we had two parents, two brothers and grandparents visit for two days) for a grand total of $100 (!) for non-referee games totally about an hour and a half of park time. I had no idea how flipping big this place was. On my first visit, I was not happy. There are thousands of parking spots and it is not enough. I ended up having to park in the mud, and pay $5 for it! My big complaint is the lack of signage. I was supporting my nephew's lacrosse game and wasn't sure where to park, and there is certainly not enough handicap spaces. I finally spotted a guy with a lacrosse stick and started following him. Fortunately, the event organizers had carts to help those with mobility issues, because of course our team was on the furthest field from the gate! Now, what impressed me - the sheer size of the place! Tons of baseball fields, soccer fields, lacrosse and more. And I have no idea what is in the buildings! They did have nice port-a-John's in the extreme areas and the restrooms in the buildings were nice. I appreciated the food trucks set up as well. The second day, the timing was right for parking and I brought my own seated scooter for getting to the field. The quality of the fields and spectator area was very nice. And the score boards are very professional. Just get better signage for best areas to park, and to the fields, and allocate more handicap parking. And you want to make more $$? Offer valet options. Came here last weekend for a pickleball tournament. Was blown away by the brand new facilities- top notch. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and well stocked. For food I hands down recommend the smash burger-Best burger I've had in a long long time. Definitely worth the trek! Will be back. read more

They built an amazing multi sports complex. However, it was such a sh€t show trying to get into the complex. Plan an extra 40 mins once you turn into the park. They charge you $5 to park and $8 to get in per person. The spectator fee you can either pay online or card only at the gates. Saw many kids getting dropped off at the busy intersection to run to get to their games on time while their parents park. We came here a weekend after a big rain storm. Tons of mud everywhere! We dodged the paid parking and parked in the field across the street... we not only saved $ but we saved 30 mins trying to get into the park. Bathrooms dirty and ran out of paper. The owners of this complex didn't plan the logistics correctly. Don't come here. It's not worth it. read more

First. I do not suggest joining the Legacy Pickleball Club at Bell Park in Mesa. For my four months as a member, I continually had problems and hassles for the entire time. And the membership fee was really just for the courts, just about everything else I still had to pay for, with a small discount. Second. Quality customer service standards at the pickleball department are pretty much, nonexistent. Only two-morning lady employees really cared about customer service. And they had a difficult time offering it because of the lack of training and support they got. I talked to other employees so I can say this for sure. I wrote an email to upper management recently and received an email from THE Executive Assistant, E. B., who said, "...I will address this with our Executive Team today and will get back to you on the next steps shortly..." It has been two weeks and I haven't heard a word from her. Maybe her 'shortly' is different from mine and means 'someday'. Again, more horrible customer service. So, here we are. With the pickleball facility, I rented out the ball machine, the main reason I joined. They have four machines, but only one works (as of my quitting in late May). About 25% of the time though, I would arrive (after making a reservation every time) and the machine hadn't been plugged in so was not charged up and didn't work. Ryan would give me my $5 back, but nobody gave me my gas money or thought about my time wasted. I complained about this every time, yet this happened until the day I quit. Also, there are no instructions that come with the ball machine. I talked to other players who rented the machine and they were given no instructions or any assistance on how to set it up and use it. The ball machine is not that easy to set up for first-timers. Also, nobody ever asked if I needed assistance in taking the ball machine and its equipment out to the courts, even when there were three or four employees in the office, nobody asked. After using the machine for two months, I was the first person to actually clean it. The front of it was filthy. Every time I arrived (until the day I quit) I had to ask for the accessories that went with the ball machine and many times had to ask to have more balls put into it. Sometimes, the employee wasn't very pleasant when having to get the extra equipment. I showed up once with a reservation and they had rented out the only ball machine to someone else. They then gave me a ball machine that didn't work. There was just no consideration for the customer. NO thought about customer service, by the employees and management (except a couple of staff). Over half the time I arrived, none of the employees even smiled. Some of the evening employee's attitudes were not very hospitable. I could actually write more. So, after reading other reviews and with my own experiences, in my opinion, I really don't think upper management and/or the owners really care about customer service. They say they do; they ALWAYS say they do, but these in my opinion do not. It's just obvious. Of course, they probably do not even know what quality customer service really is, as with most companies today. I can only imagine how poor the service is in the food and beverage areas and other departments. In my opinion, they most likely feel that "if you build it, they will come". That works in the short term, but it does not work in the long term. Thank you for your time. My apologies for such a long and negative review. UPDATE: Just received an email from THE Executive Assistant at Legacy Sports. Not very positive towards me and condescending. And to the person who replied to this review on Google. Two things. I think you are talking about the rave reviews "on the facilities", not the customer service. Second. I sent this information two weeks ago to Legacy Sports, THE executive assistant replied that it would be presented at the executive board meeting that afternoon. Yet, you know nothing about it. On a recent visit to Arizona Athletic Grounds, I have to say that the change in this place is palpable from what it was just a short time ago. As a large sports complex, it seems that they are certainly doing a good job at that and are working to make it much more for families. It is very noticeable that a lot of effort is being put in place to make the entire park a pleasant experience. The staff are all very friendly and helpful in providing guidance on how to get around. We have noticed that on a busy weekend, there are a lot more food options than before. The restaurant opening would make this even better. I would recommend checking out the events that are happening here on a weekly basis and go see things that you may not normally go see. All in all, I give this 5 stars and look forward to coming back! Great job! read more

We recently attended a volleyball tournament at this venue. The indoor volleyball courts seemed to be well kempt and it was an air-conditioned facility, however, under the new ownership there is a feeling of unwelcomeness that is somewhat disrespectful and borderline inhumane. Our athletes played multiple games over the course of two days. Yes, we had to pay to get in, and of course, the school had to pay for the tournament registration. That is normal, it's a business, I get it. What isn't normal is not being allowed to bring in outside food, especially when you are playing multiple games a day for two days, from 8 am to 6 pm. I completely agree to not bring in food to the courts but we weren't able to eat inside at the tables in the food court (I use that term loosely, as there are only a few food vendors) nor were we allowed to sit on the floor inside, or eat at the shaded tables outside adjacent to the Fieldhouse. If we wanted to provide nourishing food to our athletes to keep them energized, we had to eat in the parking lot, in our cars, or anywhere off the Grounds property. If we wanted to eat inside at the food court or outside at the shaded tables, and be out of the 110-degree temperatures Mesa was experiencing this particular weekend, you had to purchase their food, which is basically fast food, pizza, chicken nuggets, fries, soda etc. And the food vendors couldn't keep up with the demand of over 100 teams needing food in rushes when they were on break in between games. Something has to give, maybe get more food vendors to handle hundreds of players and spectators, or allow people to eat indoors or at the shaded outdoor tables regardless of what food they are eating, or develop covered parking to provide shade in the lot. You are providing a space for athletes, treat them as such, expect them to eat nutritious food, and take breaks in comfort to recharge for the next game. Make them feel like they are worth something instead of forcing them to eat junk food or sit on the hot pavement of the parking lot. Make yourselves welcoming of athletes and their families and fans who come to cheer them on. This money grab of trying to get people to purchase your food is a sad and pitiful attempt to continue to save something that has failed and gone bankrupt once already. I was told by security that "the president" saw athletes eating on the Grounds and didn't like it. I was told it's why they had to enforce this rule. It's easy to give security personnel the impossible job to command coaches, parents, and athletes to eat in the heat when you are in your temperature-controlled office, likely eating your packed lunch from home or whatever you had DoorDash deliver (no outside food right?). It was clear your security personnel didn't believe in this decision, you could see it in their eyes, how difficult it was for them to tell a bunch of girls to reenergize their minds and bodies in the hot sun. The president of the Grounds is Meg Stevens, she said wants to ensure "AAG is a world class facility and leader in the youth sports marketplace". She is only ensuring failure with her inhospitable approach. It's reported that her "hiring signifies AAG's continued commitment to 'Girls First', its initiative prioritizing girl's and women's athletics. Really? Unfortunately, I didn't experience or witness that. You should be reaping the benefits of charging for parking (like every other venue I've been to) instead of using a website where you scan a QR code. You'd make more money. Your choice is to force people to buy your inadequate food choices. There is also a cost savings when you don't need 3 security officers at every door shaking down people for homemade ham sandwiches and pasta salad. Where is your customer service if it's not to the athletes who play at your venue and the parents, coaches, schools, and clubs who pay to play and come to watch their teams. While I wish you luck in your endeavors with the Grounds, and I truly hope you can stay afloat for the sake of all sports you host there but I think you are overwhelmed and not able to handle a venture of this size. If you keep making your guests, athletes, and families uncomfortable, surely a second bankruptcy will be in this venue's future. I would definitely think twice about participating and attending anything at this venue. read more

NOT family friendly. In addition to having to pay all the fees for tournament play at this place, they find ways to overcharge for everything! I was appalled that families could not bring their own food and eat outside even in the parking lot! It wouldn't surprise me if they start charging to use the bathroom. Hot dog is over $10, 16 oz soda is over $5. Even though the tournament fees are paid you still have to pay to watch your children play. The facilities are nice, but too crowded and that leads to getting hit by balls from adjacent courts while playing. Because the focus is on your own kids the unprotected impact from getting hit in the back of the head is a serious failing they have by not having netting up to protect people. read more

The complex itself is spectacular, but whomever the engineers were that designed the parking and entrance/ exits must have been drunk. It makes going there a horrible experience. Really, charging each person to exit and enter for each youth sports game is a joke. Poor design! Poor communication! read more

Volleyball area is a mess. No nets between courts. Games are constantly being interrupted by balls from other courts. Parent seating in at the ends of each court, so parents and grandparents are constantly getting hit from balls behind them. Because they had the heater on... and now with all the bodies and supposedly AC being turned to 70* with no doors propped open to ventilation is not fair for them to play in such matter.. I have been coming to this facility since it opened. It is a beautiful place, lots of fields, courts etc. The former management was definitely not equipped to handle the business and resulted in them filing bankruptcy. I was excited to return this season since there is a new management team in place. I attended a three day volleyball tournament over MLK and I was completely disappointed. First off the main gym was stifling hot and humid. There is no cell reception in the parking lot or buildings. In an age of reliance on cell phones for communication it is ridiculous that you cannot get any reception. Previously the WiFi situation was horrible. I honestly didn't think it could get any worse but I was wrong. The "rules" of the facility state that no outside food or beverage is allowed however their selection is far from athlete centric. Healthy is not even a word I would mention in the same sentence with the food court. How are athletes supposed to perform if they are only offered fried foods and sweet frozen treats. They also state that only service animals are allowed yet I saw at least two "emotional support" dogs being carried like a baby. It is sad to see that actually service animals are given such a bad reputation due to people calling their untrained pet a service dog. I think they could improve their income and reputation if they provided some cell towers to handle the influx of people, WiFi that actually worked and provided for the use of apps and video streaming of games for teams, provided healthy food options that cater to athletes and enforced their own rules. I really hope that this new management team can fix some of the glaring issues they have sooner rather than later. read more

While they spent millions building a beautiful park, forgot about how traffic works and cell phone coverage. We had an event and traffic was backed up so bad, it took almost an hour to get in and parked. My wife completely missed my sons first game and was in tears. They have a whole bunch people directing traffic, not sure it helps much. To make matters worse, there are areas of no cell phone coverage so my wife would not even tell me was near and more importantly ok. Not sure who was in charge, but this happens all the time as i talked to many other parents. So plan to be there way ahead of time, like hours. read more
