Horrible. Went to a baseball game in 108 degree weather at 4:30PM. Found that there was a burger place called, Bristol's there. Drove all the way around building to the C building in the parking lot that was designated to the restaurant as we hadn't walked in the ball game yet.(which was super far)... started walking towards the gate that was open and a security guard stops to tell us we have to walk all the way around to the front to go in. (He was on a cart and didn't offer to drive us just flat out said no). We asked if we could sneak by him and still said no... there wasn't a sole in sight. (He could've physically escorted us but instead, stuck on the word "no" to walk around the full building). Hospitality runs in every industry. There are families who are willing to spend money ONSITE if you could get your signage together for clear communication for the people who would spend dollars and also, for some better customer service. It's not my fault you have poor signage. But when you have people willing to spend, and not ONE customer around... you should welcome them. That's how business works... Instead, he drove over to the baseball field where I saw him again. Sitting and looking at his phone... I hope that works out well for him.... I would be pissed if one of my employees got paid to sit on their phone and turn business away. Mr. Security Guard... your wages are paid by people who spend at your facilities. Considering I spend a fortune on baseball and also spend a fortune with my cheerleading company that comes to compete at this facility, I think you should go educate yourself on treating people well. Came here for a basketball tournament. First off it was over $50 per person for 2 days which I understand is partly the hosts fault but with that cost you have some expectations for the facility. Parking is an additional $5-$8. Yes, they enforce it and yes you will get a ticket, and yes it can go to collections. Bathrooms are ok on cleanliness but they don't provide seat covers. The facility is hosting 1000s of people so that is pretty insane that they can't provide them. Our son's Sunday game was supposed to start at 8 and the lights did not fully go on till almost 8:10 delaying the start of the game which just ripples through the rest of the schedule. They also delayed letting parents into the facility which just caused a swarm of parents elbowing and pushing their way through when the doors opened. I am a small person and was being pushed in every direction trying to get in. I think The AAG has great potential but was disappointed in my experience here. read more

*FOR THE PICKLEBALL COURTS ONLY* This review is only for my experience as a spectator for a pickleball tournament. I saw the other reviews about difficult parking for the OTHER sports and I would agree, as I had to pass by that parking lot in order to get to the pickleball courts. It was packed. But if you're just there for a pickleball tournament it's not bad at all (I don't know what it's like when there is no tournament) I parked at the dirt lot directly across the courts. $8 day pass, just scan QR code of one of the signs they have on the walk to the courts. No issues getting in or out as it's further away from the other sports. There are SO MANY PICKLEBALL COURTS. There are also concession stands that sells food and drinks I think a Powerade was $4. It was well staffed and everyone was friendly and helpful. Not pictured, but there are also some courts with bleachers, and another colosseum style pickleball court. The food court/walkway in the main area is cool, but not a lot of food to choose from. There were other tournaments going on, so some food items were wiped out. There is a restaurant called Bristol's, a pizza/ice cream/soda shop, and Wetzel's Pretzels. Bristol's has a sit down area, and a walk up and order patio area, and a mini "convenience store." There is a microwave and coffee, tea, soda, and fridges with quick bites. I am curious as to what these pickleball courts are usually used for regularly (open play?) ! We attended a volleyball tournament last weekend. On the downside: there was very little space around the courts, parents couldn't sit along the sidelines, the benches were uncomfortable, and there were no nets between courts, so balls from neighboring courts kept flying in; also, the large hall was stuffy--surely they didn't need to skimp so much on air conditioning in such a hot state? The only upside was that the final matches were held on a separate, conveniently located court. read more

My son plays on RSL MLS next. Today we were at field five when a security guard was outside the gate. I politely asked if they open the gates after the game so that parking lot can be used, he said absolutely not. I then asked what many parents have talked about, what if there was a injury. Marco the security supervisor got aggravated and said not a chance we need to hire lots of people and he would open it. I then asked what if he wasn't there, he got boisterous and said then you have to f*cking walk. I told him that was an absurd answer, he then got extremely mad, yelling and said alright buddy you've had too much to drink your gone. I asked who was in charge so we could talk about it and he said he's in charge. I was thrown out, he did give me a ride where I tried to convey parents concerns on safety and access where he started making up lies about me being drunk, yelling etc. I told him that was ridiculous because the whole interaction was fulmed. A second security guard said listen buddy, this is private property, you're gone. You want us to call the cops? Mind you, I'm still on his golf cart trying to find anyone to actually speak with and being polite, and they're threatening police to some random soccer dad concerned about safety and access limitations Fortunately we have this all on camera and will gladly share this in ekievavle escalation of power trip by Marco and security. As a parent I am always concerned about access in a contact sport, but I'm also very concerned regarding the treatment and near violent escalation security poses with a simple question. I'm sad that the kids had to witness someone being thrown out for asking a safety question when we are trying to build positive play non aggressive environments, and the confidence to question or at least understand rules. I think it's a legitimate conversation to ask their injury mitigation plans considering there is only one 6 foot way in, abd one 6foot way out for thousands and thousands of kids and adults. read more

If I were the city of Mesa, I'd be embarrassed. This place from the jump only exists to rip you off. Paid parking???? For what??? The food businesses are awful. Poor quality and service. I wish I had a better experience and could find something nice to say!!! So after writing a bad review I totally expected damage control by the owners. The statement about bringing in staff for addressing cars going in and out of a parking lot makes no sense. There was no presence of staff. What I did find is that the owners of this complex went into bankruptcy and now the new owners are trying their best to make some money to compensate for this monstrosity. So as an educated consumer, this place is a terrible place. The owner response who addresses my concerns "words are hollow". If you want to know how bad it is just go see for yourself. This is not an isolated incident. Read the many posts about the poor service and food. You can try and do damage control but the problem is not being addressed. I have attached the letter for proof. ---- This place runs a fraudulent parking operation. As a result of several families having various issues related to the staff and/or parking issues in the past month, our teams refuse to play at these fields in the future. They have nice soccer fields but everything else is poorly run. Parking has been an issue since it opened, sometimes taking 30+ minutes to exit due to the poor traffic design and refusal to hire staff to assist with traffic flow. We all know how bad parking here can be and already try to avoid this place. But this week I received a parking collection notice for the 1 time I drove my truck to drop off my kids for a game. I did not park! Somehow, they were able to illegally obtain my name and address from the AZMVD. This also happened to another parent on the team. We will now be taking a close look at ARS 28-455 laws and inquiring about how this private business was able to access personally identifiable information from the State of AZ for a minor parking ticket, on private property, with no court order. My guess is they use a license plate scanner to cross reference those who have paid or not and scan everyone in the drop off line. This is unethical and fraudulent in my opinion. read more

We've spent a lot of time at Arizona Athletic Grounds (formerly known as Legacy before an ownership change). This complex has it all, whether you or your kids play soccer and/or pickleball like mine do, or volleyball, softball/baseball, and I'm sure plenty more... It is a beautiful facility but if you hit it on a crowded day, parking can be insane. Also, you have to pay for parking and oftentimes, you have to pay to be a spectator to watch your own child compete as well. While it's not the most geographically desirable location for me, it does offer a one stop shop for your competitive sporting needs, mostly clean bathrooms, and usually some decent food options. I'm sure I'll be back soon regardless, but I do hope that the new management here continues to keep the venue in good shape, hire good people, and ideally put a limit to all of the additional fees they charge to be here in the future. read more

I love this place. First of all there parking is pretty reasonable, but the only thing I wish if there was separate parking lots for each sports. When you walk in it's a pretty nice place the outdoor area is amazing. There's even a park. The food is a little expensive and parking is $8. They always have pretty nice restrooms, I mean if about 5,000 people come a day they're not going to be the most neat and clean restrooms ever. So people are being very dramatic. It can get crowded but not so bad that you can't walk. It's nice since you can bring food in so that helps a lot. Everyone on the staff are all pretty nice. read more

I went to this venue today to watch my grandson play volleyball. I arrived around 8:40 am thinking I was there early enough to park and get to the court by 9am. as I had purchased my ticket and parking pass online. No such luck! I was in a line to enter the overflow parking lot using the one open entrance for 1 hour! Then it took me 1/2 hour to walk from my parking spot to the volleyball building. I included a photo of the volleyball building from my parking spot so you can see just how far away I had to park. It was easily 1/2 mile or more. The volleyball building is the one you can barely see on the right in the background. I missed his first two games. This place ridiculously overbooked these facilities, making it impossible to enjoy the experience. There were basketball, volleyball, marshall arts and softball tournaments going on, and probably some more sports that I didn't see. Once I finally got inside, there was nowhere to sit, and the lines for food and drinks were insanely long. My grandson, daughter and I stood in line to buy pretzels and then found an empty corner where we sat on the floor to eat them. Really?! These kids are athletes - they shouldn't have to sit on the floor to eat between games. I don't know what the capacity of this building is supposed to be but I'm confident that it was exceeded by quite a bit! Maybe the Fire Marshall should make an unannounced visit. The owners of this venue clearly prioritized making money over providing a high quality experience for their guests. read more

SINCERELY TRYING TO HELP. Granted all the sports facilities are brand new and nice (soccer, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, etc). What's causing most of frustrations from parents is parking and access to the facilty that's taking some people HOURS to get. This is an expensive venue; AAG charges top dollars for teams, spectators and parking. Fine. But AAG needs to give us value for that money. Parking delays can be reduced by having multiple entry and exit points; and/or dedicated exit and entries so cars aren't trying to get in/out to same spots (how is this not figured out yet after years in business??). The paid "helpers" hired by AAG are not trained in how to keep efficient flow (They could be helping at bottleneck points directing traffic flow but all you see are two people standing there). In addition, AAG needs to simply stagger the different sporting events that are happening on the same day so at least everyone is not showing up at the same time. Last volleyball tournament on President Day weekend had 1.5 mile car backups on both Ellisworth and Chandler Blvd (all the way to both freeway exits). What's worse than the backup was the fact that kids were forced to get out of their cars and walk the distance; so I don't know if AAG is just waiting for some tragic accident to occur before they seriously considering actually doing something to fix the traffic problem. I can not say enough BAD about this place. We are seniors on a fixed income who love to support our two soccer playing grandchildren. We just paid $80+ for the three days of events and parking. Then, to add insult to injury, we will be lucky to find a parking place that doesn't require at least 1/2 hour to walk to the field of play. This is ridiculous. AND, I they make the parents of the players pay as well! In our children's case, that is two admissions and two parking passes since there are two grandchildren who play at different times and different fields in different parts of town. Hopefully with enough pressure, the teams will not continue to play here and use the community venues available to them. read more

With six of my grandchildren involved in sports, we have had the unfortunate experience of visiting this establishment several times. This last visit we, knowing the incredibly horrendous parking issues, we arrived an 90 minutes prior to the start of the volleyball game, thinking we were there early enough to park and get to the court by 11am. Nope. By the time we finally found parking in the dirt parking lot and walked over half an hour to the entrance (parking was close to two miles away) the game had already started. Once we paid for the parking, purchased tickets and made our way through wall to wall people, including teams and crowds of people sitting on the floor eating as there is not enough tables or chairs for them, we managed to miss all of the first game. To make it an even more miserable experience, they have one small bleacher per side, so the majority of the spectators have to stand as my husband did for the entire 2nd game. I use a cane and thankfully a kind person gave up their seat, otherwise we would have had to leave. The idea of this place is great and something that is needed. However, poor planning, overbooking and greediness, make this a place to stay away from. i believe Fire Marshall should make an unannounced visit due to the overcrowding and the Disability Rights Arizona as well due not only to the difficulties with navigating the dirt parking lot and crowds, but the amount of handicap parking spaces (requirements are one accessible space per 25 spots up to 100, and 2% or more for larger lots) The owners of this venue clearly care more about making money than their customers. read more

Lots of parking but never seems to be any. Arrive early so you have ample time to get to you field. Bathrooms do NoT have toilet seat covers- with how much they charge $5 per car and $15 entry fee- you'd think they could afford toilet seat covers with how many people are sitting on these things- it's nasty. Fields are crammed together- there was a lady sitting in the way of our team doing a corner kick and she wouldn't move and the ref didn't even ask her to move- come on!! Thankfully we won anyway. At first, I was very impressed with the vast vicinity but it was shortly followed with disappointment. I went for a flag football tournament and there were no signs directing us to the field. The facility was huge so it would have been nice if they provided some directions. We went through their volleyball courts and basketball area until someone told us we could not go through the area and had to go around the whole building to reach the field.   It was advertised that there would be food and beverage vendors and that it would be well equipped, but that was not the case. There was a burrito food truck and shaved iced truck. Where were the vendors? The only ones there were from the flag football tournament selling merchandise.   As a spectator I was hoping for a variety of opinions, especially since they charge a $20 spectator fee in addition to $5 parking. PS it gets quite cold at night so I recommend bring layers! And Bell Bank Park is located inside Legacy property* read more

You could walk through the entire market within 10 minutes. I do have to give the vendors credit because every stand was professionally done and everyone was friendly. It was easy to find. We were there for a Volleyball tournament over a month ago and my daughter is gluten free and it took 15 minutes for her to get a burger without a bun. fast forward to last weekend, I ordered the same thing. This time it only took 5 minutes and the manager walked over to me and remembered me from last time and said they made sure that GF orders are processed faster now after speaking with me last time. For a facility of this magnitude they sure fell short in some areas. 1. Ingress/egress is terrible. There are single lanes with little to no traffic control. 2. Parking is terrible. Not enough even with the "dirt" lots and "dirt" roads. 3. Security is terrible. Rude teenagers with little to no competence or training. 4. Side walks around the soccer fields are terrible. Not wide enough for the amount of foot traffic. 5. They do not have bathhouses. Instead they have portable toilets, which is terrible. They are disgusting and there aren't enough of them. 6. Where to begin?! The parking is the biggest mess I have ever seen. No wifi once you enter the building, which means your online ticket and your parking pass doesn't work. I'm pretty sure they block cellular service too. No tables or benches outside the field houses. Which again is the only place you have access to cell service. 18 volleyball courts and not a single net to help high speed balls from hitting spectators and disrupting other courts. The first place I have ever watched volleyball and was hot. Way too many events happening at one time. I sincerely hope we never have to come back here. I have been to venues like this in other states and they do a wonderful job. This place does not. For their only job, to host sporting tournaments, they have done the bare minimum if that. read more

The fields are great and the complex is amazing. The parking is terrible and there needs to be a better traffic flow. Plan on an extra 30-45 mins to navigate the rat maze. We attended our grandson's little league game. The fields are beautiful and I like the use of astroturf. This was in the morning so no food or coffee vendors were open that I could see. I'm glad I ate before leaving the house. I had considered spinning the wheel of fortune and eating here. Glad I didn't. My main complaint is a service fee added to the parking fee. I hate being nickel and dimed to death. Either roll the service fee into the charge or change the signage to reflect the total charge. You should say $5.49 for parking. Honestly matters. My main complaint is actually with the league. They have choices of where and when to play. This venue is more appropriate for higher level play where it makes sense for parents, grandparents, and friends to pay $10 each plus parking to attend a game. read more

What an amazing facility. Ample parking but this lot is horrible from rain. Paying to park in paved area seemed reasonable. Not here. The facility is hosting a soccer tournament. Very well organized. Friendly and kind staff around. Bathrooms in small trailers that clean and stocked. The trash does need to be emptied from the weekend games. It runneth over. read more

Great facility. They were very accommodating for our out of state team. Boys got some great work in as a prep day for the three day tourney.

This place has had unlimited opportunities to improve itself and every time it's a failure. It's a sad and depressing place for basketball league/tournaments now and nobody wants to come here unless we are to with our teams. We have to play low level teams here which includes their rebranded Gym Rats teams which have always been a waste of time. It could have been so amazing but instead it is a complete disappointment. The refs and scorekeepers are not great either. It's worth the drive to Phoenix to have better facilities with free parking and the best teams to play. Plus they charge $8 parking for a muddy dirt lot that ruins shoes . They know it probably can't be saved so it is apparent they aren't investing any more into it. read more
