I've been a patient for years. I have been hospitalized recently and trying to follow up with my Urologist but I can't even get a live person to schedule an appointment. They also have a text option but no one has responded from that either. I've tried everything short of physically going to their office to make an appointment. At this point, I give up with AZ Digestive Health, anyway. I should not have to work this hard just to schedule an appointment with my physician. I get why they're rated only 2 stars. I had an appointment on Wednesday. I was already nervous about the appointment. The Office staff greeted me with an already hostile tone. The two of them were snarky and obnoxious. When I was lead into my room the staff member was very hostile to me and I no longer felt safe to be in the office. When I asked for a refund they handed me a phone number to call. This number is not for a person its for an automated never ending circle. I have been trying to contact any human but have not been able to reach a person. You visit a doctor because of a health concern you would like to have some compassion when you see a doctor. I was meet with hostility and made to feel less then human. The fact that you can not speak to anyone also conforms to me this is not the right office for human connection and concern. You are not a person to them just a pay check. Everyone here is very efficient and helpful and nice. One of the nicest doctors office I've ever been to. Dr Mokhashi himself listens and explains everything and is caring. He takes his time to be with a patient. Not only is the doctor's office a pleasant experience, but Thunderbird Endoscopy for my colonoscopy was as good as a colonoscopy can be! I hope the reviews alone show that this doctors office should not be your chosen place of care. From the office manager nicole, down to the office staff they are horrendous and do not care the least bit. A few weeks ago I chose Arizona Digestive Health to get on track with my digestive issues. Unfortunately prior to my appointment I became hospitalized for related reasons, I was unable to call and cancel my appointment for obvious reasons. I called the billing department they were very kind, in regards to a $50 no show fee. I disclosed my situation and I had my paper work. The representative informed me more than likely they would not need it but she would still inform, no problem anyways I am happy to send it. I get a call today 7/16 from a representive asking me to login to my patient portal to view my documentation on my visit? Obviously I would not allow that, and that's extremely concerning, not only concerning but unprofessional. I then offered to email it, she said it had to be dropped off and was extremely rude. To top it all, the worst part of this experience was the office manager Nicole, she's extremely passive aggressive, combative and not kind by any means. I was polite and explained my situation, the entire time she cut me off, combated anything I had to say, told me I was entirely wrong about her agent, the list goes on. She then mentions that the office has all my paper work on file and they requested it. Please be aware that even if you do not permit this office to obtain your medical records they will, on a recorded conversation nicole disclosed to me she has already requested all my documents from thunderbird hospital and knew the dates. She then concluded the conversation by saying "pay it or don't, and i'm adding to your file that you need to speak to me before ever coming to our office" Please do yourself a favor do not choose this office for care, or speak to nicole she is absolutely awful. read more

So I started my process 5 weeks ago, I actually talked to a person on my first call to ADH. However, when I went to schedule the appointment she said that they didn't take my insurance, MEDICARE. Talked to my Insurance broker, I found out she was wrong, everybody take Medicare. She was very rude and abrupt on the phone. I called back the next day, calling within their business hours, but in the late afternoon. I left voicemails on the first two occasions, no one EVER called me back. On my next call I paged through the automated phone maze and when directly to the Dr. Joe David's medical assistant, she didn't give her name. She took my info and said that she would call me back with an appointment. So after a week of no communication, I called back. The Doctor's assistant said that she needed Dr. David's approval to schedule my appointment (YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME). I said this process of the Doctor's approval has taken 10 days and still I have no appointment. She did say that they were VERY BUSY. So after 5 weeks and 2 more calls, I got an email today suggesting that I fill out the online forms to schedule my appointment. GOOD NEWS... I had my doctor give me a new place to schedule my appointment. I called yesterday, went in today for an interview and scheduled my appointment all within 24 hours. FINAL THOUGHTS... Not sure if I trust my body with a Doctor that is too busy to answer the phones and takes 10 days to decide if I am worthy enough to have an appointment. The Scottsdale office is nice though very understaffed (?) bc I spent an hour waiting and had to say I need to go to work sorry, and I was suddenly seen. I've had to reschedule followups due to I couldn't get there, and 2 TIMES they've claimed I was a no-show and sent me a bill. One time was a weekend*human answering service I got and they said there's no record of this. What was her name?? (That's my job?) I have had 2 screening colonoscopies with this practice and really like Dr. Gulinson. What I found frustrating at this practice is that they are unable to tell you the amount of your anesthesia charges at the time of procedure...your anesthesia provider may or may not be in network. I have opted to prepay the anesthesia charge as a cash pay customer to avoid surprise billing. I don't think this is an honest way of doing business. read more

My primary care doctor referred me to this practice, but I don't recommend it. If you need a colonoscopy, ask friends if they can recommend the doctor and prep they used. You'll find a better practice and prep options this way. I rarely get sick, so I know it was the Suflav they prescribed that made me vomit. Suflav is also relatively expensive and vile tasting. The doctor told me I could have called in for an anti-nausea prescription. I don't know of any pharmacist who will drop everything to fill a prescription right away. And going out to pick up a prescription mid-way through the colonoscopy prep is not a great idea. Save yourself the $350 cancelation fee and go elsewhere. The only thing good I can say is that the staff is polite. read more

Both Dr. Labowitz and front desk girl not very friendly. They do not even bother to try to make you feel at ease. I have been to The office twice and Dr. Labowitz did not even touch me. I did NOT receive a physical examination but were scheduled for 3 different procedures. I honestly don't think she knew I was there for test results because she seemed taken back when I asked if she had them. She prescribed me 2 different medications between my first and second appointments (2 months apart) but had no idea she even prescribed the second one. So after months of excruciating abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. Dr. Labowitz who informed me I must have IBS (even though I was already on an IBS medication and she prescribed another that didn't help) asked one last question as I was crying from frustration... DO YOU HAVE A THERAPIST?? Excuse me?? I picked up my purse and left. A few hours later, I get a bill emailed for my first appointment that had been paid for already. read more

Their answering machine states their call volume is busy so they make you wait, and yet each time I've been in person for an appointment the phone never rings. When they do call you and you try to call back you speak with the person who left you a message, Shelly will actively not transfer you to who you request to speak with and then demean you when you continue to request to speak with the doctor or doctors assistant that called you. I've been coming here for an about a year for my issues and the biggest reason I want to go somewhere else is because of Shelly. read more

I called today to set up an appointment and was told I was sent a certified letter discharging me from clinic?? At no point did I ever "no show" for an appointment. I had to cancel twice due to inability to afford the $75.00. The last correspondence I had with this facility via text, I was told " do not worry about the copay, we can waive." So I call today with new insurance and a more flexible work schedule and was told I was discharged? I spoke to a Ezekial, call was disconnected and no one bothered to call back. I spent more time in the waiting room rather than the doctor took the time to speak with me about my concerns. Then I get sent a bill for over $285.00. I was there less than 15 min. The doctor even laughed at me when I told him vitamins and meds I was taking and he wouldn't sign my FMLA paperwork until I had a colonoscopy or endoscopy which was thousands of more dollars and he even said he would fill out the paperwork if I needed it completed. The Peoria location doesn't bill insurance correctly. When a Colonoscopy is Preventative Care, covered 100% by insurance, the required consultation should also be covered by insurance. I was told that by Banner Aetna Insurance also, but I was told that the office didn't use the correct code for a Consultation for a Colonoscopy and wouldn't change it. Banner Aetna didn't do much to help with this either. I suggest double checking before you schedule an appointment with Arizona Digestive Health. It took me months to get in after the Consultation, which was also frustrating. I would have changed to a different company if they didn't have me over a barrel with the Consultation cost. read more

I recently had an EDG procedure with them. I left in considerable pain & discomfort. The staff minimized, belittled & made me feel bad about my experiences. They told me they aren't a hospital and that my experience was not possible, later they said it's rare but could have happened. I've had a GI disease for many years and have never been treated so poorly. I left in tears because of pain, discomfort and anger. I couldn't believe they treated me so badly. I do not recommend them if you want compassionate and modern medical care. Further I think they just do procedures to make money. read more

Could you imagine taking tests like a colonoscopy or other marker tests and never getting results or even a phone call from the doctor? They do tests and never tell you the results. I wrote and mailed a letter to Dr. Nizar Ramzan. I told him that I still don't have an answer for my digestive problems and apparently won't get one. I told him that it was not my intention to embarrass him with an online review but could he please refer me to another doctor. More than two months later and still nothing from anyone. Dr. Trevedi was arrogant, cold, uncaring and dismissive of my husband's GI issues. I am my husband's care partner and his "bedside manner" was the worst I've ever seen. I did all I could to hold in my anger during this visit. We were looking for a second opinion but will never deviate from the Banner systems again. We love Banner doctors. Its a true bummer that when you are being an honest person you end up getting treated worse than someone who could have lied. This office must be incredibly desperate for $$ if they will not waive a $50 missed visit fee due to a scheduling mixup. I called and was honest on the day of my appointment and said that I had the appointment on my calendar for the next week and a note in my planner said it was that day. I told them i have a cardiologist appointment at the same time and would need to reschedule and she said we have to charge you. I then said so if i called and said i had covid or a fever that would be waived as someone could be sick and not make it. An honest mistake that could be on their side or my side is now being threatened to go to collections by an office manager that I am sure is absolutely perfect and doesnt understand humans are not perfect - her team nor myself. I'm not one to write negative reviews, because I understand people have tough days, and I'd never want to make someone's job harder and their day worse. With that said, I'd feel morally wrong not saying something and warning other patients. I want to begin by saying none of this is regarding Samantha, who was very kind. For the vulnerable populations who may be at risk with health concerns, this establishment location is not one people can trust. It was impossible to reach them. Within the last two weeks I've called several times with no answer and 30 minute wait times only to go to voicemail. Even if that is a fault of the company overall, and not this specific location, it will impact your experience as a patient and client, and is dangerous for people who trust this establishment for their healthcare. I think maybe at most, once every 5+ years, have I ever met someone in life that I thought was truly an unkind person, but Dr. Labawitz, in body language, tone, and words, and care as a provider was so degrading and rude. I feel comfortable saying that she makes it a point to look at you and speak to you with intentional condescension. Without question, Dr. Labawitz should not be working with a vulnerable population where their health might be at risk. While you will be forced to sign a paper that says that you have to cancel within 48 hours, or pay a fee. It's actually 48 hours on the day of your appointment. They certainly don't tell you that. Dishonest billing practices. all billing was completed in July for a procedure in March of 2022. In spite of this, I received qa threatening letter stating there was an unpaid balance. To their credit, the issue was resolved and they admitted the bill was in error. I received copies of my account which indicated I owed $0. However, two months later, they are again claiming I have outstanding bills with the usual threats. While i have no complaint regarding treatment, their billing amounts to theft. read more

I had a follow up appointment and contacted them both doctor assistant and front office at least 6 times to ask a question and see if I need to reschedule my appointment. The clinic front office and medical assistant did not respond, I left messages, they did not follow up. The clinic appears to be short staffed and failed to respond to my multiple attempts to get in touch and to reschedule. Then they sent me a bill for no show. One evening in late February 2019 my stomach became painfully bloated which led * me to become so dehydrated that I passed out while walking to bed. I crashed to the floor breaking my nose, cutting my forehead and lip, bruised my ribs, had my front teeth pushed back, and smashed my left knee. My life could have easily ended that night, but luckily, I woke up minutes later in a pool of blood and was taken to the ER. As part of the of the follow-up with my PCP I was told to see Gastroenterologist and I picked Dr Abrams based on his UHC ratings. My hope was to understand what had happened and to find a solution as I had been coughing up stuff previously - believed to be stomach fluid - for some time. Dr Abrams scheduled an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy to try and find out so I figured we were on a good path to find out, but after the procedure instead of a follow-up to discuss results and treatment, I got a letter saying your fine, see me in five years. I almost died and this is all the information/treatment info I'm going to get? In late September this year I developed a case of Laryngitis that got progressively worse over six weeks which caused ultimately severe breathing problems forcing back into the ER. The diagnosis was stomach acid, so this time both my PCP and NP both suggested I see Dr Labowitz at the same office as they knew and trusted her. But when I called the office to schedule an appointment, I was told I couldn't see her because of an office policy of not transferring between Dr's without approval of the Dr's and they declined to sign off on the transfer. WTF? Why would I want to see a Dr that did nothing to resolve my health issue when I really needed an answer for the cause and a treatment plan?
