This place is like Disneyland to me. It's where you go to buy the magic for your garden. I've been picking up compost, raised bed mix, worms (of course!) and starts for a while. Yesterday, I took my second garden class with master gardener Leslie. She is beyond kind and overflowing with knowledge. If anyone can help you with tomatoes it's her! Must go!! I came near closing time and I did not feel rushed or pressured to hurry. The woman just kindly gave me a heads up about what time they closed and about the summer hours being updated. I looked around a bit, grabbed some plants and headed to the counter to get some worms and worm castings. I am new at tending to a garden here in AZ so I had many questions. The woman at the register was able to answer all of my questions about gardening and compost and even went above and beyond to show me some of the ideas she was speaking of. We love worms!!! My family and I started worm composting many years ago after buying our first bag of worms from the AZ Worm Farm. What started with one composting bin in our garden has evolved into 5 throughout our large garden. We have visited the farm often over the years and it is always such a fun experience. My girls love feeding the chickens and walking through the food forest. I feel that this is one of the few places you can visit and feel zero pressure to buy anything. So if nothing else come for the experience and the opportunity to learn something new. read more

This place has taken my knowledge of gardening to the next level. Amanda was patient and kind and explained how to best use their products for the plants I have. She even showed my 7 year old around and by time we were done my daughter went from "ewww" to " this place is amazing!" AWF brings sustainability and customer experience to life. UPDATE to my 5/15/2022 review. As I said in my first review everyone at the AWF has always been very pleasant or extremely nice. On that note I am giving them 5 stars with the update and would give them 10 stars if it were possible. I did not contact AWF directly and only posted a review here. Zach, the owner, read my review and responded which I personally think is significant because so many businesses today would not bother. More than that, he also sent me a text letting me know he gave me a full refund! I checked my credit card statement and he did exactly that. I was extremely surprised and feel a thousand times better because I couldn't afford to just toss it and buy new. Now I can do that, thank you Zach! I truly was very unhappy with the soil, but I must give credit where credit is due and AWF is a business of high integrity! read more

Great place with super friendly and helpful staff! Got 2 yards of their sifted compost, a worm setup, worm castings and some coco coir. They have everything needed to setup a great garden! Definitely will be back when I setup new beds and need more. read more

We had significant problems and delays from receiving a lot of compost that was hot compost, far too hot (too chunked). These things happen especially during these times of unprecedented demand, but they stepped up honorably when brought to their attention. These guys are very honest. Thank you! read more

I love this place. I buy my Coco coir here for my wormy friends. I love the atmosphere and my kids want to join me if they know I'm coming here. There is a little playground for kids they sell worms here, compost, Coco coir, baby plants and a few vegetables. It's a nice place to go on a Saturday morning to get some gardening supplies. read more

I've been gardening in Arizona for 7 year, in the same garden bed under the exact same conditions except last year I made 1 singular change. I added a bottomless bucket in the soil and dumped a bag of worms and gross bananas and kitchen scrapes on top. My garden suddenly became amazing. My 3 tomato plants managed to get 8 feet tall and 3 feet wide each. My little marigold plant exploded into a bush! I got a bucket of bell peppers. My jalapeño plant gave me 100s too many peppers. I ended up caning 60 pints more of garden goodies then the year before. I didn't suddenly become a better garden I just got 500 really amazing pets that work their butts off. read more

I just received 8 yards of unsifted AWE compost. It was really course. I would recommend that people buy the sifted version. Here is a photo showing some of the rocks and junk I found in the compost. I'll be pulling pulling stuff out of my garden for sometime I imagine. Still grateful to find a place that sells compost. I would recommend that people continue to use this company as a means of obtaining needed supplies for gardening etc. It was easy to order on the phone and was also delivered on time. My first visit out here! I follow several gardening groups and have learned that worm castings or really, just worms, are the best thing a garden can have. My in-ground beds are full of juicy, fat worms but I want my raised beds and potted plants to be just as beautiful. After hearing about this place through FB, I packed a lunch for the long drive out. No really, it is kinda far out for those of us coming from the East Valley, but what you get is far greater than any bags I've ordered through Amazon. It's a simple operation. Worms. Worm poop. Worm tea (yes, there is such a thing). Fresh worm castings are the best thing you can give your plants. Gardeners call it black gold. And Arizona worm farm has fresh castings in various amounts. I bought 3, 5 gallon boxes and it was enough to top dress 2 raised beds, all my potted plants (about 30), 20 fruit trees, and the remainder was tossed in my garden. It's a little high...30 bucks per 5 gallon, but I'd rather pay that than buy a daily latte with my money. The people seem friendly to me. Apparently they do tours and workshops all the time. There was a very large group there making their own worm bins. They also sell compost, mulch, and other garden fixings. Well worth the drive. read more

Arizona Worm Farm is the best!!!!!!!! What they are doing to educate the community is so refreshing to see. You don't often get people wanting to help and teach you the most important skills you need in life. How to grow your own food! Literally every step; from compost, worms... the whole cycle! They spend their entire existence doing good for people and the earth. It takes so much physical and mental energy to put care back into the earth and the food we eat. I see them constantly working their bodies, and showing care in their community and the farm. So much passion. This is by far the best farm I've ever seen. Not only can you tell in the way they have everything set up, you can tell in their souls, in the way they work tirelessly. They truly care about people and the earth. Zach was so kind and helpful when I started up my garden. I had no clue what to do and had never even had a garden before. I was a bit nervous and you can tell in his energy that he had faith in me. Just by that, I grew faith and interest in it myself. He didn't even know me! (My garden is THRIVING by the way). Talk about good vibes!!! They truly want to give from the heart. I had been here before on a worm tour with my daughter and a homeschool group several years ago and had a great experience. I reached out to them this year and they said they don't do school tours, I told them I wasn't referencing a school tour rather the tour the group did. On their website it indicates they do tours. They told me they don't do tours for children anymore. I don't know if the nice people that ran this farm before sold or passed away or what happened with the management but it seems to have changed. I love having worms for my composting and we moved to a new home so I needed new worms. If I had known of another place to go I would have gone somewhere else after this exchange with the people running this. However I didn't so I went to this place to get my worms. The lady there was not helpful at all. I told her what I needed and all she did was tell me that my compost area was too big. That I could basically feed the worms one scrap a day otherwise I would be over feeding them. I tried to get more information about what I needed to be doing ( I have seen large compost bins before). I asked for the dirt and worm mix and she told me I only needed the worms. I had other questions and likely would have purchased more from them but she did not have the time of day for me. I asked about the worm tea which it talks about on their website as being helpful for gardens and she told me it wasn't useful. It is only getting 2 stars because I was able to get my worms. Customer service has gone way down hill and not giving tours anymore to kids? Why not? She acted like they never did that, and I know they did. If even talks about that on their site. Maybe they just don't like children. read more

This place is so cool! Their service was wonderful. I brought my 4 year old and one of the staff was so sweet to show her the worms, let her touch it, and even named one after her.
