I wanted to like this vet because of the hours they are open and location is convenient but my experience wasnt the best. They charged more for the office visit than advertised on the website and then they claim on the website: "We believe in transparent pricing and will always provide detailed treatment estimates before proceeding with any procedures. We'll explain all recommended treatments and associated costs so you can make informed decisions about your pet's care..." yet before communicating anything they performed a 15 second ultrasound that I was then charged $250 for, resulting in about $350 bill without communicating at all about pricing before hand. For these reasons I cant recommend this vet which is a bummer because of how close it is to my home. (literally at the end of the street a couple blocks down). read more

Hands down the most friendly and genuinely caring team of vets! My sweet miniature pinscher, Lexi, is usually terrified of meeting new people -- but the team at Arkvets made her feel safe, loved, and so well taken care of. Comes with the price at of an urgent clinic, but lacked the reassurance of a regular clinic. Staff didn't diagnose the problem, they offered some options to provide "comfort;" however, I left still needing a 2nd opinion. This will 100% be mama's new vet. From the moment I walked in they were friendly, greeted me and my dog. It's also very clean! They knew she was in training and they asked if it was okay to pet her and kept the boundaries for her to make sure she continued doing her training. They sat on the floor with her (and me) while doing the exam and really heard me and my concerns. They did not push any unnecessary things. We do have to go see an orthopedic doctor which they had a place for us to go. I would absolutely recommend them. read more

I had seen this vet a few years prior for my other dog and had some prescriptions filled for her, vet was kind, staff was wonderful. My other dog had swelling under her eye a few months ago I tried washing her eye and avoiding a vet bill at essentially all costs. I had her examined and turned out she had major tooth problems and abscesses that needed to be removed asap. I went all around trying to find a better price but just wasn't happy. I finally came back here and had the surgery set for the vet next day after I called and they did an amazing job. I'm writing this review and my baby is 2 months post-op from them. That night she was back to normal activity and the follow up was amazing. Price was worth every penny. Both experiences I've had here has been worth every cent. Dr.Wensman was my vet and she was fantastic. They both made my dog feel very comfortable:) and the prices are VERY reasonable. I have been going here for years but they upsell you every single time. My dog had a UTI and I spent $700 between 2 appts. Oh and that was because I declined their "recommended" services. Had I went with their initial quote it would've been $1200-$1300 to diagnose this UTI. Only symptom was a little discharge and random accidents. My dog is 14. Once I learned vets get commission for upselling you on services, everything started making sense at this place. I won't be back. read more

My sister took our dog there and they were very kind to him. Everyone was nice and pleasant and made sure our baby was comfortable. He unfortunately passed a couple of days later, but it was already the end for him. It was his time...He was well cared for while there. I have been taking my dogs to this vet for 3 or 4 years now. Have stuck with them because I liked the vets, even though they have poor customer service. This week was the ending for me. On Monday, March 31 2025 I requested a refill on eye meds for my boxer. Their voice mail says give them 48 hours. On Wednesday, I called to see what was going on because no one had the courtesy to call me and let me know what was going on. This is the second time this happened to me. Today, April 3, 2025, I stopped by the office. The receptionist looked up the information and informed me it had just been approved by the Dr. I asked her if I could get the prescription and she said "it has been approved, but not filled yet". She told me she would go see if they could fill it for me while I was there. I waited about 15 minutes and finally the vet tech came out and told me the Doctor would not fill it until I brought my dog in again. She has been there for the same thing more than once, and they want me to bring her in again??? For what. To charge me for another office visit that will do nothing. I asked for her medical records and told them I will find a vet that cares for the patient, not just the money. I did another review on this office which was also not good last year in August. It had to do with terrible service when I had to have my other dog put down....All I can say is I hope other people and their pets get better service and courtesy than I have. I want to thank this office. We brought our Miniature Schnauzer in early one morning after she collapsed, vomited, seizure...the whole works. Staff immediately ensured she was stable and then got to work. The vet spoke to our regular vet's office, did tests and established that she had an anaphylactic reaction to something. They treated her quickly and were so caring and kind...to her and us! I was most impressed with the way they collaborated with our other vet's office to make sure the treatment was agreed on. This is a level of coordination I haven't seen before! She was hospitalized for the day and returned the next day for another day at the hospital and more tests and fluids. We saw two vets during our 2 days there and both were patient, kind and caring. They carefully explained everything to us and answered a lot questions. She is now fully recovered and back to her old self. I feel better knowing Desert Ark is nearby. I also want to say how kind the vet techs we interacted with were. They seemed to genuinely care about our dog and that put my mind at ease read more

He's now on the mend & healing very well. Fair pricing, especially for an urgent care facility. We received great care here. Adopted a 21 year old cat with long hair who no longer is able to groom himself as well anymore. Tons of matting. Attempted to de-matt him at home and knicked his skin pretty badly. They patched him up with staples and helped us finish the job by shaving him down under proper medical supervision. They also did not charge any fees to remove the staples 2 weeks later. I'm very happy they are close by. The more pet care clinics available the better! read more

Everyone in this office made a rough situation a little easier. I brought my 10 year old German shepherd for what we thought was possible hip or back pain and found out he had a mass that ruptured. Dr. Starr and her team were the most kind and compassionate. They were honest with us and loved my boy along side us to the very end. I grew up in animal rescue so I have euthanized many dogs but this was different because he was my baby. I cant thank the staff enough for making sure my baby was calm and comfortable until the very end. read more

I had to bring my timid pup Charlie on a Saturday after she badly tore her dew claw. I was referred to Desert Ark since I couldn't bring her to her normal vet. Kathleen was so sweet on the phone and told me to come in right away. Everyone from start to finish was so friendly, timely, and professional. Dr. LaBarge and Brittany were very attentive and thorough with explaining Charlie's treatment plan. Dr. LaBarge even informed me to reconsider changing her diet for some possible risks to her health, which she didn't need to do but really went the extra mile to show she cares and knows what she's doing. Charlie doesn't love being separated from her owners but I didn't hear her make a peep when they took her back to treatment and fixed her up. I was in and out within 2 hours of calling them and, not that it matters because you do whatever you can when your dog needs help, but was also pleasantly surprised with how affordable treatment was. I was expecting $400 out the door for an emergency visit, but came in WELL under that. And they gave her a pink bandage, which was just so stinking Charlie and I are both so thankful for the Desert Ark team and Dr. LaBarge! read more

Took my dog in to check his paw because he was limping. Right off they bat they recommended an xray ($750) without even thoroughly assessing his paw. I thought that was a little excessive for first steps so asked if we could just get some medicine to start. The very next day after 1 dose of the medication, my dog had horrible diarrhea that lasted 2 full days. It got so bad we had to take him to the ER. At the ER they immediately said a potential side effect of the drug was vomiting and diarrhea, which we were NOT told before hand by Desert Ark.. The biggest issue is that when we reached back out to Desert Ark to tell them what happened they refused any refund and didn't even acknowledge the fact that our dog was worse off than before we visited them! Bad experience and we won't be back here. read more

From the moment I called and got Bri (sp??) to walking in and having Alex as my tech and Dr Kelly willing to work with me and my difficult cat, I knew I was in the right place. Having just been 'fired' from our last vet, I had started to look for anyone willing to see my aggressive cat. Then she came up injured. At a time when I have multiple voice mails, emails, and even held for 30 minutes trying to get someone to pick up a phone, I did not expect much more. I was pleasantly mistaken. The phone was picked up quickly and I had a short hold. I was then able to explain my difficult position. My cat is injured and mean as hell. Unable to be examined without sedation, but having no current bloodwork, no one was willing. They were able to let me walk in the next day. No appointment but I was willing to do whatever it took to have a chance at getting her seen. Alex was thorough and kind. Dr Kelly did not judge my ill tempered girl. They worked with us and were wonderful the entire time. I will absolutely recommend them and have already told a few people to switch from my old vet. I cannot say enough great things. Thank you does not feel like enough. Anyone who gets that special bond of human to animal knows how much it means to meet people who genuinely care about their animal as much as they do. read more
