After my husband was rear-ended while driving my car, we had to pick a repair shop. I picked Arlington Collision Center based on just 2 yelp reviews and the fact it was so close to our house. From working with them over the phone to picking up the car, Arlington Collision Ctr was great. They were professional, answered my questions fully and even finished my car early. When I came to pick-up the car, they were friendly, smiling! :), super polite, were quick to handle the paperwork, and took me out to my car to show me the repairs. My car's bumper looked perfect. Woohoo! As good as it gets! This place is truly a lifesaver. I ended up hitting a deer back in June while going to visit my brother in Maryland and went with a damaged front end/passenger fender for about 2 months before I finally decided to make the insurance claim and just get it fixed. When I first went into here, the lady at the front desk greeted me and helped me to get my car quoted for my insurance company. I am with USAA and they work with them all of the time; so it was easy. About a week later, after the insurance company approved the repair and they got the parts in, they gave me a call to drop off the car. After dropping it off, they stayed in contact with me nearly everyday to let me know where my car was in the process of being fixed (ie. its in the body work shop, its in the paint shop, etc.). I loved that! Mind you when I first dropped it off to get fixed, my rental car company (whom I will review after this) did not have my car; since they let me not only book and pay for a rental, but then didn't even have a car for me, but that's another story/review.Arlington Collision helped me to quickly get another car rental upon dropping off my car and even got me picked up and dropped off by the other rental after it was all said and done. Sheisty estimators. I brought my car in because the side mirror was broken off. I had already procured an aftermarket part and they gave me a hard time to install it. I'm thinking "its simply a car mirror and I am sure they use after market or junk yard parts for older vehicles" but they still seemed against it. It made me think that they just like getting the parts through their distributors so they can charge you (or your insurance company) a premium. After "discussing it with the manager" (or whatever) they said they would install my mirror but with "no warranty" (whatever that means ....again its just a mirror install not a new clutch). I mean, take the old one off and screw it in for me real quick dude. They also tried to up-sell me on a bogus paint job when the mirror already had the paint to match. In the end, they gave me an $120 estimate for a task that took me 10 minutes to do myself with a 10 dollar wrench. My advice, If its something simple and you are not going through your insurance company save yourself and watch a YouTube video. I had my car fixed here a couple of months ago. The lady I dealt with at reception was one of the friendliest people I've ever talked to, also the mechanic who fixed My car took about six weeks to be completed. This was due to a defect in hoods from the manufacturer. I understand that they could not control this; however, they could have picked up the phone and called me. They gave me three different dates that my car would be ready, and each time I called to confirm the day before pick-up they told be it was delayed. This is extremely frustrating when you don't have any wheels. I'm just saying a phone call would have been nice! There were some issues on the day of pick-up with my insurance company getting them their check, but they seemed to take it out on me and were extremely rude to me. I just wanted my flipping car and to be fair, I was paying them $1000 and they were just waiting on a small supplement to be approved. When I finally got my car back I noticed that my new pin stripes didn't match my old ones and my windshield wipers would randomly turn on. I emailed one of the supervisors and asked him when I could bring it back in to look at. He told be that they didn't do any electrical work and sometimes color varies from old pinstripes because the sun bleaches it (without even looking at it). Hey idiot..... My old pinstripes were two-tone, the new ones are one tone. Also, you replaced my headlights.... Last I checked that counted as electrical work. I took my car up there and after arguing my case to the supervisor he agreed to fix my pinstripes, but not my wipers. Recently, I took my car to a GM dealership. I did not even tell them that I had repair work done, but they asked me if anyone had worked on my car. When I told them about the body work I had done, they said that whoever replaced my headlights shorted out some of my wiring which caused the issue with my wipers. This cost me another $270 that I was not excited about. On top of that, my muffler had been knocked off during the accident and was hanging down lower than it should.... the body shop hadn't noticed. This alone wasn't enough to piss me off, but the entire situation made me beyond upset and jaded. I'm considering contacting the BBB, but I'm not really sure if this place is worth my time. Great place. I came here after a (typically) inconsiderate DC driver rear-ended me. I originally was going to take it to a BMW place but on the recommendation of the other guy's insurance, I brought it here and I'm glad I did. Jeff in particular is a great guy. They kept me updated (through email) on the status of my car and sure enough, it was done in about 3 days just like they said. They call the nearby car rental place for you and have them come pick you up (if you need a rental like I did). I had no hassles at all dropping off my car, picking up my car, or paying for it. My rear bumper looks like it did the day I got the car, and I even think they might have buffed out a scratch I had on my front bumper (again, from another inconsiderate DC driver!) for no extra charge because I can no longer see it, even when I look close at it. read more

Needed to fix a small dent and some scratches on the side of our car thanks to a hit-and-run in a parking lot. Arlington Collision was great about getting us in right away, sending regular email updates on the status of the work, and most importantly - fixing the dents and scratches. Although paint can be hard to match (our car is black) exactly, AC did such a good job that it's impossible to tell that any jerk ever hit us! They're perfectionists about getting the job done right - they had actually painted over the area once, but called us to say that it wasn't 100% perfect and were going to re-do it, which delayed the process by a weekend. Have to appreciate the perfectionist work ethic. read more

Arlington Collision Center is great. Unfortunately I have needed to get my car fixed twice here this year. I just want to put it out there...I was hit twice. I guess our new car brought us a little bit of bad luck. The first time we brought our car here we needed to have a quarter panel replaced. It was finished in a timely manner and it looked brand new--you couldn't even tell that some 16 year old girl merged into our car! A few months later my neighbor hit the same side of the car, so I went to a few body shops in Arlington to get quotes. The other shops didn't even know that work had been done on that part of the car! Yes, ACC's quote was higher than the other shops, but it is probably because they were actually being honest with what it would take to get the car back in shape. I went to ACC first and Jeff took the time to explain what needed to be done...unlike the other body shops I went to. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and professional, and they are very close to an Enterprise location. Oh and they clean the interior for you. :) Nothing like picking up a clean car! read more

We got into an accident one Friday morning, right in front of the entrance to my office's parking garage (this man backed into me, even though I had honked as soon as I saw his reverse-lights turn on--he was very sweet, through!). The front bumper and fender were badly misshapen, and one of our headlights was busted. After all the insurance stuff was settled (surprisingly, this was a breeze!), we brought in the car to ACC. They were great--we got there first thing in the morning (actually, a little before they opened), they called us at every step, fixed up everything so the car ran super smoothly--the whole experience was wonderful. They seemed very well-organized, and went out of their way to fix some other small things wrong with the car. My one annoyance was that we spent awhile waiting inside their offices, for the shuttle to take us to the Enterprise nearby, where we could rent a car. We waited for around half an hour--but we probably could have walked it in half that time! Wish they had told me, so we wouldn't have wasted our time. oh well! read more

I chose this place because it was on my insurance company's list and it was close by my home. I was sketical because most of these places are seedy, dirty and well not somewhere I would want to be after dark. NOT ACC! I was frazzled because my daughter wrecked the car and didn't tell me and I was incredibly upset, but the team at ACC took great care of me and of the car. First, their place is bright, airy, clean and the team professional in manner, presentation and attitude. Second, when they discovered my schedule they offered to take me home vice making me walk in the heat. Third, they rushed it through to meet a difficult timetable on my part. Fourth, the rush job didn't mean a poortly done job. The car looks like NEW. Fifth, the BEST part they cleaned it inside and out. They didn't have to do that and that extra mile made my day. I was over the top happy, because my daughter had trashed it on the inside within one week of me having it detailed to a tune of $110 for her to take to prom. Sixth, yes there is MORE! They followed me home in the car and let me bring the driver back to work. So here is a center that is fantastic at body work, who are professionals, but beyond that they are nice and caring. They put the word "customer" back in customer service. I wouldn't go any where else! read more

Blonde lady at the front was so rude and uncooperative. I came in for an estimate because I was in a car accident and the persons insurance told me to get one at the shop of my choice. She argued with for about five minutes before agreeing to move forward with my request because I was "wasting my time" and then she rudely throws the pen at me. I have never seen anything like that. Are you upset because a customer came in and now you have to do your job? Please. So yeah her words, you come to this shop and you will be wasting your time. But anyways, I only gave one star because Mike the technician was profesional. But with a hag like that at the front desk, it's a mystery to me how this place is even still in business. read more

Will never get work done at this place. Walked in at 5:40pm on a Friday and no one bothered to even greet. When I walked up to one of the women working at a desk, said hello, and asked if someone can give me a quick estimate on a dent, I was rudely told that they were closing and no one would help me. Physical repairs done competently. Customer Service failed. I was in a multi car accident, and the insurance company directed me to Arlington Collision. They said 2 to 3 weeks for repairs. I had insurance coverage for a replacement car for 4 weeks. Repair took 4 weeks, and on the LAST DAY I get a call with Good news and bad news. Good News: Repairs were completed and car was ready. Bad News: Their driver was testing my car and the owner of another car that has just been repaired there, drove into my car and it needed to get repaired again. The insured (homeowner) delayed responding, so a replacement rental was complicated. If I opened a claim again with my insurance company, I would pay another deductible. The repairs took several more weeks, and done competently. I discovered that I needed to pay my deductible again if I wanted my car from the shop. The shop was driving my car under what the insurance industry calls "care, custody or control". It was the shop's liability. They made their customers pay. Sad. Great work spoiled by bad action. You don't need to be a lawyer to get work done here, but it helps. read more

I've been to both Arlington Collision and Pohanka Collision (right down the street) for two separate repairs. If you are debating who to go to, go to Arlington Collision Center. Good, honest and nice people. I had to go back to Pohanka 4 times to get a simple issue fixed (my muffler kept becoming detached due to being rear ended and they haphazardly "fixed" it 3 times before they finally gave in and replaced it). Arlington Collision Center kept me updated on repairs and made the process very easy. The woman who works the front desk could not be any nicer (sorry, I don't remember her name). She is wonderful and provides perfect customer service. Additionally, I have some additional scratches on my car (outside of the ones from this current accident) and the gentlemen who helped me told me to simply pick up a clean wax compound to fix the scratches. I have yet to do so, but appreciated the advice. read more

CAVEATS: I took my car here because it's a Liberty Mutual guaranteed shop. I am a "car person". I have a 2016 VW Golf SE TSI. PROS: 1. My car is finally done after 3 weeks of repairs. 2. Convenient location off 395. 3. Jeff, a manager there, was very kind and helpful when addressing my needs. 4. Good paint color matching. CONS: 1. Upon picking my car up the first time, the work was sub par and there was new damage to my passenger door handle (from the shop). I left it there to be fixed again because I knew the shop could do a better job. Problems: wavy paint job, new damage to my passenger door handle, passenger side view mirror not repaired, tape residue left on side panels. 2. Upon picking up my car the second time, my Liberty Mutual adjuster, Mike Oboh, who works for the shop (he's like a contractor for Liberty Mutual) didn't acknowledge me. I found that unprofessional considering the hoops we were all jumping through to get this car fixed. (I should note that he followed up with a phone call yesterday.) 3. The parking situation over there (lot and street) is awful. 4. One of the women at the front desk (the one with dark hair) always seemed annoyed at me. Maybe she was having a bad day the two times I was at the shop, but still... 5. I picked my car up on a rainy/misty day, and once the conditions were better (dry) I noticed tape residue on the side panel (again) and polish cloth residue (front passenger side panel). The lack of attention to detail is disappointing. CONCLUSION: I am unlikely to take my car here again for repairs. read more

I wouldn't recommend. My estimate was 2-3 times higher than another shop and the shop time was estimated much higher as well (2-3 weeks vs 3 business days). The other shop also recommended checking my alignment and collision center did not. Collision center also said since I wasn't going through insurance, they would have to buy all new parts from the dealer. That was fine but to me, painting a new part and installing it is easier than repairing an old part so I couldn't understand why it would take them so much longer. I went with Jacks auto body in Falls Church instead and he delivered on time (3 business days) and on budget (actually a few bucks less than the estimate). read more

Looks like my experience mirrors Mo D's--it's all about the gatekeeper: Jeff. The people who hit my vehicle are lying and not taking responsibility for all the damage they did, so their insurance isn't willing to pay for it all to be fixed. My insurance suggested I get an estimate. Went to Arlington Collision Center and was treated like I was engaging in criminal activity by their estimate guy--Jeff Blanton--who really needs lessons in how to treat other human beings (especially women). I've been in tears over this incident for days, only to then encounter his unprofessional, rude treatment. This entire experience has been a nightmare, and clearly the customer suffers due to behind the scenes wrangling of the insurers and body shops. He accused me of lying about Geico suggesting I get the estimate, then complained he'd waste his time doing one (I am of course losing money as I am taking off work to deal with a situation I'm not even responsible for), then clearly wrote it up for as high as he could possible go. The treatment verged on abusive. When I told Geico about him, they said, "That's probably why he's not with us anymore." It was terrible experience on top of an already nightmarish situation. read more

Arlington Collision Center did a relatively simple job- Remove, repair, and respray my rear bumper. The quality of the work seems to be okay, especially since my car is white, metallic, and has a pearl finish (probably one of the hardest colors to match) They did seem to "clean" the car, but not very thoroughly compared to the body shop I used to go to in Connecticut. Some bird crap on the roof of my car when I brought the car initially was still there when I picked up the car. Also, They did a vacuum and wipe down the interior of my car, but an air freshener that I put in the night before I dropped off the car (that I keep in the map holder/storage section of the drivers side door) is missing. Also, a brand new sealed air freshener that was in my center console is missing as well. However, the passenger side front door had a wrapper and plastic fork in it that was not cleaned out, which is why I find my missing air freshener in the same place in the drivers door a bit odd. However at the end of the day, it's a couple $4 air fresheners and not really worth arguing over Overall, seems like a competent body shop that seems to do quality body work. Minus 1 star for taking 4 full business days (generally, this should only take 2-3 business days). Minus 1 star for a sloppy wash/detail of the car and missing air fresheners. Would I come back next time I need body work done? I wouldn't be opposed to it, but wouldn't make a huge effort either. read more

This is the second time here in the past 5 years. Both times only some light body work was needed. We had good service the first time, so we didn't hesitate to choose them again. The staff is dog friendly and the location is convenient to our favorite dog park. I brought my car in on a Monday and called the next day to find out when I'd have my car back, my car was finished 10 days later. My brother also used them and had just gotten his car back the week before and told me about his experience after I had already left my car. His experience was not good and I panicked. I called several times to check on my car and finally admitted my concern and shared my brother's experience. Jeff was extremely understanding and even though he did not work with my brother, he grabbed my brother's folder and went over my concerns. Jeff confirmed that my brother's car was damaged by their technician. They fully advised my brother and took full responsibility for the repairs. Understandably, my brother wasn't happy. His car is still new to him with just over 3,ooo miles and already in 2 accidents, both not his fault and the second accident by Arlington Collision! It is unfortunate but I doubt my brother will use them again. However, despite my brother's experience, both of my experiences were good. I appreciate that Jeff took time to address and satisfy all my concerns. He was very professional. In the unfortunate event I need to call on them, I will not hesitate to use them again. They have a consistent track record. To understand my 3 stars, I gave them 5 stars for consistent skilled repairs, friendliness of the front staff and Jeff's professional standards of service. I removed 2 stars for the damage to my brother's car while in their care and for the lack of clarity and attention to detail in the paper work given to my brother. read more

Update on 9/21/15 - we took the car back and another part was put in. Very nice, no problems taking it back, they were determined to make it right. They were very professional, so I am glad to be able to edit this review with a positive update. I really want to like this place. The people here are very nice and very accommodating. My husband and I brought our car here after a minor accident involving the front bumper. They are highly recommended, approved by our insurance and had some great reviews, on Yelp. The whole process went fine, and they finished in time and kept us updated. But, a couple of days after we got the car back we noticed the bumper had sort of slipped. Ok....we called and my husband took it back in. A couple of days after that we noticed the bumper slip again. My husband took it back in. Last night, we noticed it was slipping again. Someone is not attaching it right or something, but we are going to take it back a third time. I want this place to stand by their reputation of doing quality work, which is what we paid for. That's all. We shouldn't have to keep coming back. That is not acceptable. The only thing a business has is its reputation, how it treats customers, and the work that is done. Are we Disappointed? Absolutely. Frustrated? Yes, because is there something else wrong? Are they giving us a shoddy repair job because they don't want to spend the money to make it right? I am not going to bash them. I am confident that we can work this out, our new 2015 car will be fixed for good, and then I can come back and change this rating. Wish us luck! read more

My experience with Arlington Collision was nothing but positive. My insurance is State Farm. I had a minor repair requiring the bumper and side panel to be punched out and painted. I read the reviews online and here and since they were a preferred service provider for State Farm I decided to take it for an estimate. I didn't need an appointment, just showed up and they did the estimate right away. They estimator was friendly and prompt. I was there about 10-15 minutes. Their estimate came very close to the 1st estimate I got at another repair shop. They were able to make the repairs the following week and estimated it would take 4-5 days. I took my car in on a Monday and was given updates daily as to the progress being made on my car. It was finished and ready for pick up on Thursday afternoon. The repairs were done beautifully and my 2014 car looks like new again. They did a great job matching the paint which is a pearl white. The insurance claim was completely handled by them. I just paid my deductible. Couldn't be happier with the service I received from Arlington Collision Center. Thank you!! read more

Quick summary: a tree fell on my car in May, and after a horrible experience at another shop, sometime in early July I got USAA to approve a second inspection here. The guys found TONS of mistakes and borderline (let's be honest, flat-out) fraud by the previous shop, and set about fixing it. They expected it would be done in about 3 weeks, but it took a very long time to get parts and figure everything out. The car was finally done at the beginning of September. I'd really love to give these guys 5 stars; they were always courteous and my car is fully repaired in good condition. But it took far, far longer than they expected (which was mostly the result of delays getting parts) and I had to bring it back in less than a month later when the glue holding the rearview mirror on melted. Also, it was frustrating to never get a straight answer the first time I called; I always had to call back either later in the day or week to get "follow-up" information, though they never called me when the timeline changed. All in all one of the best non-dealership car maintenance experiences I've had, but far from perfect. read more

I was very satisfied. Iris, the front office gal was polite and friendly. Steve, who did my estimate was knowledgeable and a nice guy. My car was dropped off Monday morning and I picked it up Friday night. It was clean and detailed at pick up. The price was right, only because it was paid for by the other person's insurance! USAA listed this as a pre approved facility, and we picked it on the strong reviews. We were not disappointed. ACC did outstanding work and definitely went the extra mile to return out car to us in top condition. It took extra time because they had to order a trim strip five times from the manufacturer, but they did it over and over until it was right before ever calling us to pick up the car. They kept us well informed the whole time as to the status when they couldn't make their original repair date. If I ever have a problem again I would take my car directly to ACC. read more

I had messed up my sunroof (it wasn't aligning right when opening or closing), and wasn't sure where to take it, even to get an estimate. Even though I knew a "collision center" may not be the right place to go, I stopped in just in case they could advise (based on the reviews saying they're super helpful). GOOD idea! Someone (can't remember his name, sorry!) took a look at my car immediately, gave me advice on getting it fixed (whether or not I could or should involve insurance), high-low guestimates for pricing, and two specific recommendations of where to go to fix the issue. Even though they didn't fix my car, they HELPED me cheerfully and quickly, and the place they recommended did a stellar, speedy job that ended up being inexpensive. Thank you ACC! read more
