I can never get my all my Arlo to connect to the internet. Arlo technologies has an automated answering system that works about as well as the cameras. I would be nice to talk to a live person but they don't exist. Get an Arlo system at your own risk. I've had nothing but problems with this system. Whether it being not recording or not being about to log in as is the case as I write this review. Arlo tech support is non existent, they no longer have phone support. They recommend you go to your app and contact them that way. Well, if you can't log into your app, you can't contact support. I tried changing my passwords and it will not let me, I tried logging in on my Android and my desktop with no luck. Basically a $600.00 plus system is useless. read more

I would not reccomend anybody use this company. Their equipment and customer service seemed like a scam the whole time we dealt with them. Equipment does not operate consistently and customer service does not help at all. They will not issue a refund ever!! Our LLC., a tile store in Nevada, purchased Arlo cameras and a subscription to keep our cameras operating efficiently when we were not at the store. When we first purchased them we had trouble with them. So an employee spent 4 hours on the phone with a technician to get them up and running. From that point on it was hit and miss. Sometimes they work most times they DO NOT!! Then our store was broke into by someone on Acid!!! Did alot of damage and hurt himself in the process. NOTHING recorded!! No video footage of any of it!!!! The system was purchased in August 2020 and we were broke into to on February 2021. We cancel all supscriptions with them and them preceed to get a refund for faultly equipment...since it NEVER fully worked in the first place!!! We made several calls to try and convince them that their equipment never worked properly and every single call we made we had a difficult time communicating with customer service because they spoke very broken English. EVERYTHING was difficult with this company. We never got our money back, approx. $1000.00. I also found on their website that says they have a year warranty. I had an old system of Arlo and was able to keep my recordings without having to pay a monthly fee. Also was able to get technical support if needed. Neither of those exist now with the new systems. They charge you for a monthly subscription more than I pay for Netflix and it's virtually impossible to speak with someone if you have any issues. There are many other options for security cameras for your home I would strongly recommend. I spent $200 for the system and I'm going to consider it a waste of money dump it and move to something more useful and with a infrastructure that will help you if you have a problem. I ordered a replacement camera housing for one of my Arlo Pro 4 cameras. Arlo's site indicated the housing worked with the Pro 4 yet the housing I received wouldn't work with my Pro 4 mounts as the mounting hole was a different size. I tried using Arlo's "bot" driven support chat but I could only see a portion of what I typed. It finally connected me to a support person but they wanted me to send pictures of my cameras and mounts as well as the new housing. I told the person I would have to retrieve a ladder and remove the camera from the mount and asked them to hold on till I got that done. When I came back with everything the support ticked was closed. The ridiculous part is that everything they wanted me to send pictures of were their own products and they should have had instant access to the specifications. I even gave them the model numbers of the components but they didn't take the effort to pull the parts to verify the problem. Instead they issued a return authorization and expected me to ship the housing back to them and then order the correct housing from the same website that recommended the wrong part in the first place. They never gave me the correct part to reorder. The cameras are decent but once they lose their connection to WiFi they can be difficult to reset and reconnect. My experience with their support was worse and not what one would expect of a technology company. read more

I have an Arlo Go (VML4030-200NAS) camera. The Arlo Go is an expensive battery powered camera that connects to the internet via a SIM card. I pay for a monthly subscription for the SIM card service that the camera normally senses. Over a month ago while the SIM service was still active that camera no longer recognized the service and failed to connect. I tried to troubleshoot it. I took the camera off of my account (as a last resort attempt at troubleshooting) and wanted to add it again. My SIM service automatically refunded my money, but I can no longer add the camera to my account. I tried to contact support, but it's a paid service. I tried to pay for support but cannot since no camera is connected to my account. This has been going on for over two weeks. I was told the only way I can get support is through the Arlo community which is of no help. Please do not buy Arlo for your own good. DO NOT BUY ARLO!!! read more

We have a legacy Arlo system with a desktop receiver and 5 older Arlo Pro cameras. When one of the cameras died we replaced it with an Arlo Essential camera because the older cameras are no longer made. Unfortunately, Arlo would not allow the older camera to be replaced in the system so we have to pay a monthly charge for that camera. Since we decided on the need for additional cameras we were willing to pay the fees. I asked the sales person if we could put all of the new and old cameras into the monthly charge and dispose of the desktop device. He assured us that we could do so and it would be automatic. But when we turned off the device all of the cameras stopped working. We were referred to a technician who told us that the older cameras would only work through the device. However, when we turned the device back it took time to get the older cameras back in operation. this experience took more than two hours for something that should have been settled in about 15 minutes. Terrible service. If I could give zero stars I would do so. read more

This product and company are a joke, no phone support their Pro 4 spotlight camera product which I bought doesn't work I reset the thing more than I can count to try to get it to connect and work to my wifi. Arlo makes you use 2 step verification. It is a nightmare. I'm the only person that uses the system so why do I have to have the verification if I don't want it? I have trusted my I phone 4 times now and Arlo still don't trust it. I spent 20 minutes today trying to log back in this morning. I don't know who was at the door. I have 3 Arlo systems. I have taken down 1 and replaced it with a hard wired system. I'm now researching systems to replace the other 2 Arlo Systems. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the Arlo systems which is why I have 3. The mandatory 2 step verification is a deal breaker for me. I want to log on and see that I need to see right then, not get a code on the same phone and by the time I get it entered it's expired, again and again. All Arlo would have to do is allow you to Opt out of the 2 step verification but you can't. read more

I had to spend several weeks going back and forth only to have them send me a new battery and housing which does me no good as the camera is stuck inside. BEWARE! I have an Arlo system that is two or three years old and it works great. We are very happy with it and it works as advertised. HOWEVER, I told a friend about it so he went to Costco and bought two Arlo systems while they were on sale. He installed one at his home and was happy with it and planned to install the second system at a second home. He also encouraged another friend who purchased one. BUT ARLO HAS CHANGED! I own my system and there are no monthly/annual charges for maintaining the system through our wi-fi. That has changed and after a "free" 90 day trial the system will shut down unless you start paying $300+ a year in subscription costs. My friend was able, after considerable effort, to speak to an Arlo rep, who's first language was not English, about this and it was confirmed. The rep's response when my friend told him about my cost-free system was "Oh, that's an outdated system". My "outdated system" works fine but Arlo, owned by Netgear, has now apparently realized that there is no $$$ after the sale and they will hold all new purchasers hostage for the recurring fees. Needless to say, my friend is going to return both systems to Costco for a full refund. I am giving this review three stars instead of one because the system, both mine and the newer version, works well. But there is nothing in Arlo's advertising that warns of recurring fees after 90 days of purchase. No advertising of that equals false advertising, does it not? read more

I just bought two new security cameras but they are not being recognized on my Wi-Fi. After two frustrating hours trying to get support, for which 3 months of "free, personal help" come with each new camera, I gave up and am returning the cameras. Although they claim otherwise, there is no way to chat with an actual human--only bots that say "do this, do that" which have nothing to do with my problem. It just circles around and around. I purchased 3 cameras 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. None work and there is no one you can talk to via phone anymore. They walked me through troubleshooting and told me it was the batteries. Purchased new batteries because they would not cover or exchange anything. Still they do not work at all once they are unplugged. The outdoor camera stays on for less than 24 hours and dies. Again, cannot talk to anyone. Blinking blue light either turns red or stops blinking while mobile is trying to find product. Eligible for 2 month customer support free trial and had all intentions of subscribing after that. Dishonest customer service. I purchased two wired video doorbells and after 3 months both of them began pixelating during night vision. I did all the troubleshooting tips in the Arlo Community and the image remained pixelated at night. Arlo replaced one doorbell and after 2 days that one also pixelated at night. I asked customer service during the "update case" email exchange if other customers experienced a pixelated image during night vision and was told "no." Well, the last communication I had with them they indicated this is a known problem and they are working on a firmware and hardware fix and my case would be escalated once the fix was developed. I asked to file a warranty claim as I need clear night vision and was told that I cannot file a warranty claim. This is an subpar product, do not purchase anything from Arlo. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company. I have 1k in arlo equipment and I am locked out of my account. I cannot get any help from support, and there is a 'bot' in the chat which sends me into an infinite loop. There is no real support and they will tell you support expired if you have any older products. My issue is that I cannot log into my WEB ACCOUNT, and I get an error to CONTACT SUPPORT when trying to reset my password. This company is garbage. read more

They are great videos when they work but if yo want to fix a problem their support is a bot that doesn't understand your problem then you ask for live support and they don't understand, I spent an hour twice to get no where so I let my membership expire because of it. then went to try again but now I can't even chat because I don't have a membership. So what people have to look forward to is if your not a tech person I really wish you good luck. I had a schedule set from 12am to 7 am that's when it automatically arms so if we were to take the dog out we could disarm and put back on the schedule when we got back inside so that it would go off but for about 3 months we can't do that so between those times its just going off if we have to take the dog out or I have to leave early because their chat service isn't set up for that issue, so if you think you need to talk to someone about any issue find another security company read more

Just recently had 3 cameras purchased from and installed by Best Buy Geek Squad. Upon completion, I asked installer to explain some of the features on the mobile app. He explained that he had no experience with it and he was most familiar with Ring products because that was what he had in his home. He recommended an appointment with Geek Squad at the Best Buy store near my house. No owners manual included with the box. There were no YouTube videos explaining the app. Made an appointment at the store and explained that the app was very difficult to use. 3 of the 3 Geek Squad techs on duty also stated they were unfamiliar and that I should call Arlo Tech Support. I called the next day and a representative answered exceptionally fast. He agreed the app did have many shortcomings and recommended I email the company. He was very helpful and explained many things that were not readily apparent. Even with the explanation, the app is difficult to use and not user friendly. It is missing simple steps such as deleting unwanted videos easily. You must delete each one individually or the entire collection. Camera itself is seemingly well built, but I have had them for less than a week and it is too early to tell how they will hold up. I spoke with Best Buy and they said just to return them within the 30 day period from installation. I will return them shortly as they were not inexpensive. read more

Zero customer support. The website says chat or call-but provides no phone number. The phone number on the Pro 3 Floodlight camera for customer service, has a message that customers must now go to the Arlo website for a great customer service experience which is an automated chat bot without any option to actually speak to a person when the chat bot gets stuck in a logic loop. My Pro3 floodlight camera was offline (again), while my older Arlo camera remained on line--one foot away. I followed the instructions and could not get the P3FC to link, so I removed it, reset, and followed the installation instructions. The instructions (and the great customer experience chat bot) do not have any options on what to do if during the installation, you camera blinks Amber--but NEVER subsequently blinks blue to allow you to pair it. If you click on help, it takes you to the previous screen. Previously there were actual humans who answered the customer service if you experienced an issue outside the instructions, but that, sadly is no longer the case. To add insult to injury, the Arlo website was not allowing posts to the customer Q&A and comments either today. It's time to switch out my Arlo cameras and cancel my subscription, and switch to a more customer oriented company that actually provides customer support. I have a Simplisafe system, and will just add a couple of their cameras to replace the Arlo. Simplisafe has humans answering their customer support if you have questions that aren't addressed in the instructions. After today, I would give Arlo a lower rating than one star if that was possible. read more

So I bought a doorbell, it worked fine, I switched networks so had to re program the doorbell for the new network. It will not reprogram, so finally after numerous attempts via the instructions on the app and then the internet suggestions, the doorbell seems to be stuck in a loop, so the internet and the chat customer service said to remove the device from the app and then add it back, which did not work. That is when I learned that in order to get customer service other than chat, you have to pay for a subscription, here's the catch you can't get a subscription if you don't have a device on the app. I have called every number, asked the app for help multiple times, tried calling as if I just bought a new device and there is no one to talk to. RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM Arlo, they want your initial purchase but are no longer accessible to talk to, their chat line even says, "I don't understand, I'm still learning" when asking it questions for help, all it does is ask you for your name and email then tells you you don't have a subscription to talk to anyone, which you can't get unless you have a device on the app. read more

I purchased Arlo because they offered 7 free days of cloud recordings without charging a monthly fee like the other home security systems. During my free 3 month trial, the cameras & doorbell worked fine and I gave a good review even though the battery life on some of the wireless cameras only lasted a couple of days. After my free trial, my free 7 days of recordings did not start as promised! I tried searching the Arlo app, website and internet for a customer service phone number to inquire as to what is going on but couldn't find any customer phone numbers. I finally gave in and chatted with a Bot on Arlo's website trying to get a phone number, to speak with a live person but was told I have to purchase a subscription in order to get a phone number!!! I typed in my complaint about not having my 7 days of recording, no subscription necessary just to be told by a Bot that the pro camera kit I purchased was not the legacy cameras that comes with the free 7 day of recording! This was not on their printed advertisement when I was doing my research before deciding! I feel totally scammed by Arlo and would not recommend this system based on their deceitfulness and inability to provide a phone number to speak with a live person! It shows me this company is a coward when it comes to speaking with their customer and hearing about complaints and owning up to and correcting their wrongs! I've had several Arlo cameras since 2017. Recently I updated and added a new ultra base station with a doorbell essential camera. I then added a pro 4 spotlight camera and for our driveway a pro 3 floodlight camera. The pro4 and pro 3 floodlight camera I hooked up to arlo's solar panels. One of the panels failed right out of the box. 2 days of online chatting with 6 different people from India I finally convinced them that the panel is defective. They've agreed to ship a replacement with a catch. To get an RMA I had to pay them $16.90 for the privilege of having them ship a replacement solar panel to replace a 4 day old defective panel. Nothing short of a shakedown. They've completely done away with phone contact and the chatting/email contact is ludicrous. BTW the phone contact number for customer care was eliminated October 2021 but I was told by one of the tech support agents in India to call it. So today if you have a problem you MUST go thru a horrendously long process and echelons to get to someone who may or may not be able to help you. Every time you're transferred you must begin all over because the system does not capture Jack sh-t. It's like the movie ground hog day in and endless circle. Think long and hard before you purchase anything from Arlo. read more
