    Stopped in during a recent trip to the area. This was our third visit over the years, and unfortunately it will be our last -- which is disappointing, because the beer itself has always been solid. The experience went downhill immediately. I asked to taste a beer and was told, "No, we do not do tastes," followed by the beertender muttering, "If you taste it, you buy it." I work at a brewery and have visited the vast majority of breweries in the state, and I have never encountered a place that refuses a simple taste. Since I wasn't allowed to try anything new, I ordered a stout I'd had before. My husband did the same. The posted price for the pour was $7.50, and we had the Passport BOGO. Yet we were charged $9 -- not the listed price. Between that, the abundance of "rules" plastered everywhere, and the beertender's unnecessary comments about some children after they left, it became very clear that hospitality is not a priority here (or at least not priority to the staff that was there that day.) It's a shame, because the beer has always been good. But after this visit, we won't be returning. Best of luck.

    Fun night out with friends! The nachos from the taco truck were great, and the Starborn seltzer was crisp and refreshing. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and bingo made it even better!

    We decided to come check out Armada Brewery today, Sunday, August 17th around 1 pm. It's located in probably not the best part of New Haven but do NOT let this dissuade you from coming as once you park and get inside, its a hip brewery with a great breeze blowing through it. We were promptly greeted by two very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. We selected our drinks and decided to stay inside at a picnic style due to the heat today but they have nice picnic tables available outside with umbrellas. Today, they had a great food truck with authentic Mexican cuisine. We tried the asada tacos. Absolutely amazing. Inside you have comfy sofas and picnic style tables to cose from. They have a photo both and board games available to amuse you along with interesting murals on the walls. Excellent selection of craft beers along with limited wine and liquor options. The experience was completely positive and we can't wait to return.

    This is a wonderful brewery in New Haven. Loved the simple warehouse feel of the place. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided good information about the beers and the area (which was helpful given I am from CA). There was no issue with my daughter and I setting up and playing games for a long time. They even have a wall of games if you don't have your own. The food is limited and the chips and salsa we munched on were mediocre, but you don't go for the food. The beer and the ambiance are top notch and that's all that mattered.

    Great beer onsite + to take home. Fun and unique events. Good people. Kickass playlists. Stunning views. Accessible parking. Plenty of seating options. Delicious food trucks on site. A photobooth. Board and card games to borrow. Affordable rental space for events. ....What more could you want? We love Armada and appreciate that after hosting our shower here, we feel welcome to visit with our baby!

    Armada Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in New Haven, Connecticut in April 2022. It was founded by John Kraszewski. Although a Connecticut native, Kraszewski moved to Chicago, Illinois in 2008 at the age of 21. He originally went to help a friend move there, but he liked the area and decided to move there himself. Kraszewski initially worked in the automotive industry; he had mechanical talent and a "tinkering brain". His interest in craft beer was sparked when he tried the beer "Three Philsophers" by Brewery Ommegang. He started working at a liquor store part time and soon made a friend who worked at Half Acre Beer. Around this time, Kraszewski started taking up home brewing on a kitchen stove top. He eventually got a job working at a home brew shop and worked there for about five years, learning several things along the way. Eventually he got the idea to start his own beer brand. Chicago had a lot of craft breweries, but Connecticut had very few at the time. In 2016, Kraszewski convinced his partner Alexandra to move back to Connecticut (along with their daughter) so he could pursue his dream. He chose the name "Armada" for his brewery after hearing the word in a Coheed and Cambria song; he liked the sound of it and no one had used it for a brewery yet. After asking several times, the owner at Overshores Brewing in East Haven (opened in 2014) allowed Kraszewski to take up space in their production floor as a gypsy brewer in January 2017. After much success, other gypsy brewers began brewing at Overshores and by 2018 the brewery rebranded itself as "The Beeracks": the first brewery collective in the state. It was Kraszewski himself who came up with the name. Some of Armada's early offerings had names like "Cursed King" or "Savage Queen". During the 2018 Craft Brewers Conference, Kraszewski came up with the idea to rebrand and have can artwork that reflected the name of the beers. Each illustration told the story of a character and each can resembled Dungeons & Dragons trading cards. Kraszewski always dreamed of having his very own taproom and that dream became a reality in 2022 when Armada moved into a repurposed Civil War-era factory in the Fair Haven section of New Haven. It was home to the Bigelow Boiler Company for several decades before ceasing operations in 1986. I recently cycled over to Armada's new taproom just a few weeks after they opened to the public. I was met by John Kraszewski who sat down with me for an exclusive interview while we enjoyed some tasty brews. Both he and his staff were some of the friendliest people I've met in the beer industry. After telling me about the brewery's origins, Kraszewski gave me a tour of the beautiful facility. The ground floor is a family friendly/all ages taproom dubbed "The Throne Room" while the second floor is a 21+ lounge area dubbed "The Queen's Lounge" (which can also be rented for private events). I ended up trying samples of all twelve beers that were on tap that day and I was impressed with all of them. I also enjoyed my beer "fleet" with a frozen Zuppardi's sausage pizza that the staff heated up for me in their pizza ovens. I ended up leaving with four-packs of "Mermaid Cove" (IPA) and "The Herbalist" (IPA). I had an exceptional experience at Armada and look forward to returning again and again!

    What a fun amazing find. So cute . The owners are great but there daughter to cute for words. I'm not a real beer lover but I did a flight and they were all amazing . If you haven't stopped by you are missing out big time. Oh did I mention the music they play is great.

    Great vibe. Lots of board games. Kinda nostalgic. Food was not good. But good for a beer flight.
