We stopped here for lunch on a Monday while heading to Myrtle Beach. I have to say the food was great, service was friendly and knowledgeable of very extensive menu. Prices were very reasonable and portions were generous. This is a large restaurant for a small town with a huge bar in the center. I'm guessing weekends are very busy as they have a large stage and many TV's. If you're looking for Mexican food you must stop here. We will definitely be back when heading in this direction! read more

Pretty run down from the outside but OMG amazing place. Reasons 1. Price. It is SOOO affordable and the quality is awesome what I paid for three people is what one meal usually costs at any other restaurant and everyone was full!!! 2. Quality and taste. From the mouthwatering warm chips and sweet but spicy at the same time salsa and that's not even the main dish! I got the cheese quesadilla with tomatoes and it was cooked PERFECTLY the fresh guacamole was spicy but not at the same time. Also the portions were extremely generous!!! The Pina Colada is #1 with the nice cold refreshing sweet savoring taste! Overall the food is at 11/10. 3. Staff. The waters/waitress are the KINDEST people every 1 to 2 minutes checking in refilling drinks etc. 4. Speed. We needed something fast but good and the food came out in 5-10 minutes and we where there for a half hour at MOST! 5. Atmosphere. The decor is AWESOME and the lighting is cool and calm giving you a chill vibe. Overall 100000000000% everything is pure perfection!!! read more

Had the Mojeto "the Rock" tonight. Everything about it was terrible - the beef chicken and shrimp was cooked to death, there weren't any peppers or onions cooked with the mix (there was a single grilled onion and jalapeño), no sauce or cheese, a small cup of pico on the side. This was two times in a row for me not satisfied with my meal. Mexican should be easy. I will go somewhere else. read more

Great food great price and atmosphere! Quick service! The warm chips and salsa arrived almost immediately and you know what was the best-- there was a person walking around with a tray with more chips and salsa! We didn't even have to wait until our basket was empty or the salsa gone. Husband and I split a combination of 3 items--all good and unfortunately I failed to take a picture because we were so hungry that we ate it before I thought writing a review! This is the 4th time we have been able to enjoy this great service and food this year in our travels .. all great! One time they were out of Pinot Grigio but that's ok. Tonight we really had a great time since eating at the bar again with with fantastic service and food. We had a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio and loved the dinner. We always have fun here and even the few times we stopped last year it all worked. The mixed fajitas are a favorite but everything we have tried is good. Best attentive bartenders make or break a dinner some nights and they are always so great here! We look forward to eating here! read more

If your stuck in this dump of a town on your journey... this is the only place that I would eat in. Food was great. Beer was nice and cold and, the service was fantastic. Only complaint was that the cushions on the benches felt like sitting a rock. Not exactly what my butt needed after being on the road for 12 hours. read more

We walked in & it was super crowded, but the reviews for this place looked great! It was a 15 minute wait, but we stayed, because we are from Virginia coming home from Florida, so we weren't from the area. They took our drink order & we ordered our food pretty quickly, but after we received it, it went downhill from there. we never received refills of our drinks, chips or salsa. We had ordered cheese dip, but when we got it, we didn't have any chips left. They never brought us more, & by the time we got our food to eat the cheese dip with our food, it was already hard & cold. The food was okay, but after I had already ate my food they brought out my quesadilla 15 minutes after my other food came out. My husband had ordered the fajitas, but they were cold also! Most of us got shrimp, & all of us found shells on at least one each! It took us a while to get our check, & when we went to the counter to pay, the waiters were arguing about if a person had paid or not. Luckily we aren't from the area, so we have to eat there again. Do not recommend if you are in a time crunch or are at the restaurant late at night, because you will be there a while. The waitress was nice, but we didn't see her much. read more

There weren't a lot of places to choose from at this location, but there were a lot of cars parked outside so we drove in and took a chance. It was tasty and the service was good. I had the chicken enchilada verde with rice and beans and it was good. My wife ordered a steak quesadilla and felt it could benefit from a higher quality cheese. If you truly enjoy Mexican cuisine, my family and I recommend this restaurant 100%. My husband and I have each traveled all across this great country in our life times, (we are both retired military) and we know that "going where the locals" eat is the best way to know where to dine out in any area. We are transplanted locals to Santee, and have NEVER had a meal at Armando's that was not flavorful and piping hot. If something did need to be changed or adjusted, the staff took care of that promptly and with no awkward kick back. I am of the opinion that if you have an unpleasant dining experience here, then you caught them at a very rare, odd time, or you yourself are impossible to please. We recommend the Fajitas for Two - it's more than enough food for two! read more

If Mexico could be transported to SC this would be the spot, stopped in on a camping Vacation, this place is absolutely amazing, best tacos I've had, and let me tell you, the only better taco I've had was in Cabo San lucas @ Gordon le le's. And our family loves Mexican food, taco Tuesday's is awesome, looks like all of Santee was at this restaurant, dot let the rating fool you. You'll be missing out. Trust me it's worth the visit. We read good reviews of Pedro's Mexican Restaurant and came to this address to try it. Apparently, Pedro's sold this place to Armando's. We had a very bad experience at Armando's. First, they don't serve any liquor, which is a bad thing for a restaurant serving travelers at the end of a long day of driving. Next, they brought our appetizers, guacamole which was grainy, (a result of not having ripe enough avocados), as well as queso dip made with watery white American cheese. My entree was a combo with a chalupa, a chile relleno, and a tamale. I was very disappointed in the tamale (which was a small mound of corn meal sitting on top of meat sauce) and the chile relleno (which was a mound of cheese and meat sauce on top of a couple of tiny pieces of poblano chile). Then when they saw we were disappointed, they brought over some chiles poblanos swimming in watery American cheese-- still not authentic or tasty. The waitress was attentive and as cheerful as could be expected for someone who had to serve food as inauthentic and tasteless as this was. read more
