Came by Smokin Gringo BBQ on Saturday and it did not disappoint. Located off I-26 on exit 194 across from the Spinx gas station. Everything is outside seating and they have plenty of parking. I love all the vibrant colors of the containers. The menu has a huge variety so I asked what was popular. He said to get the taco trio & wings. I added Mexican street corn, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and a Paloma. The sauce on wings was amazing and the steak taco was huge and very tasty. I love that they were playing Mexican music. We even started to dance. It gets busy out there but it's plenty of seating and shade. I can't wait to go back everything was delicious.

Great bbq served in creative ways. Don't be fooled by the outside, worth the stop. Outdoor seating only

This place is a favorite among me and my coworkers. The container style restaurant is situated on a corner lot so parking can be a little weird, but not too complicated. They're only open Thursday-Sunday. There's no indoor seating, but they do have plenty of picnic tables and umbrellas. Smokin' Gringos is not your typical Mexican restaurant- it falls somewhere on the spectrum of Tex-mex. The owner and pit master is usually onsite and will bring the food to your table- which is a nice perk. I always enjoy the nachos with pulled pork. The serving on the nachos is more than enough to share or if you eat it alone you may need to wear your stretchy pants. In addition to nachos, they have burritos, burrito bowls, sandwiches, and ribs (only on Fridays). They also offer beer if you're looking to spice up your experience.

Great place with awesome food! Parking: Located off of the Jedburg exit, Parking wasn't an issue, but if there happened to be a full crowd then it could raise a concern. Service: The service was very good. It was our first time here and our server was patient with me. He gave the recommendation for the grande burrito which I ordered. Food: I attached the photo of the grande burrito and I can say that it was everything you could ask for. It was smoky, savory, sweet (drizzled with a sauce) and flavorful. I enjoyed everything single second of eating and would order it again! Ambiance: Ambiance is appealing, what I mean by that is the colors of the storage containers that make up the area which is bright vibrant colors. It is very welcoming and can catch your eye on the side of the road. I ate at home due to it being cold outside, but I wouldn't mind eating there. Opportunities: The one opportunity that I can think of is the size of the burrito. Based on the size of it, it's not something you could really hold by hand if that's what you're looking for. I'm not complaining about that in any way but if someone were to think they're eating it traditionally, they wouldn't be since I had to eat it with a fork and knife and that was the better option for me. Overall: I'll be back for sure! The food was great and the server was hospitable and answered the questions that I had. You have gained yourself a customer!

We finally had the opportunity to go to Smokin' Gringos. They have a large menu. Their menu is not like other Mexican restaurants. They have a unique take on their burritos with several different barbecue sauces. The service was super fast & extremely helpful. They can also help with pairing sauces with your meat choices. The seating is outdoors with plenty of space. For the cooler nights, a small fire pit is also available.

Ordered catering for 13 from the Gringo's. It was a 10/10 experience. Could not recommend them more. Book it!

The wings - mehhh. I've had way better! They were not tasty and they were not as tender as I would have liked them to be. The tacos - good. The burrito- also good. Would I return? Probably would try again. The bathroom- questionable! The saying is you can tell a lot about the way a restaurant's kitchen is by the cleanliness of the bathroom. And this is why I'm on the fence about returning.

Great food but the customer service was the best part. I came back to treat a friend on the way home and grab some takeout for my family as well. Amazing service and friendly accommodations from Primo and Danna - they are the best! (Like, LEGIT, the besssttt) Thank youuuuu!!!

The food was ok. The service was fast and efficient. They had live music being played. I think I pick up on energy too quick so no.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant. The owner has tons of experience and you can taste it in the food. He has made a perfect mixture of BBQ and Mexican food to create a very unique and delicious taste. I absolutely love the ribs and wings. I also like the different dishes he creates for the weekend specials like Birria tacos, brisket quesadillas, tri-tip tacos. Everything I get is absolutely delicious. The customer service is amazing and the owner is always there and will proudly talk to you about his creations or anything that you want to talk about.

This time we climbed to the second floor to find a table at what I would describe as the most inviting bar in the South due to the eclectic decor and the appearance of the bar itself with dozens of upside down bottles hanging from the ceiling that at first I thought they were there just to decorate the place but nooo! they actually poured the specialty bourbon we ordered which BTW was very good and was only 90 proof which was a very nice match to my Yingling, we spent about two hours there and not because the service was slow but because we were having a good time, at times was a little loud but my out of town friends truly enjoyed the kind of place, they said that next time they come to town they would like to come back to the very same table. The conversation and good times is what kept me from taking a picture of the dishes I ordered the Cajun Pasta, was absolutely delicious and will order again the next time I go back, wife ordered the Pecan pork chops and said it was made with her cravings in mind I won't be waiting for out of towners to come in order to go back, this has become my most trusted and preferred Southern restaurant in Chucktown/Summerville area, no questions and way better than any distant second best that we have been, make it 8 stars! Our server was Cameron and she is a charming young lady that makes every effort to comply with your most demanding requests same as previously served in the lower level by another extraordinary server by the name of Sophie, their smiles compliment the flavors and drinks

Food came quickly (table of 6). One of the kids meals was forgotten and had to be re-fired but nbd- happens to the best of us. Chicken tenders were real chicken so loved that. The Caesar was delicious and added on blackened salmon which was also great. Will definitely visit again in the future!

Tiki Taco is about really good Mexican food, and nothing else. And, when I say "nothing else", I mean that they do not have a proper building to dine in per se. They have something like a large garden gazebo or something that has high-top mismatched tables and chairs. The structure you're eating in is open air - it doesn't have windows, and the walls are only half walls. In the winter they put plastic over the open parts to try to keep the wind out. This place gets five stars anyway. The food is that good. In fact, it's so good, that if rating on just food quality alone, this is my favorite restaurant in Summerville. I've had nearly everything on the menu at Tiki Taco, and I've loved every bite of it. It's fantastic. I'm not such an authority that I can tell you how authentic it is, or that they do this really crucial thing that only "real" Mexican chefs know how to do. I'm just saying it's among the best Mexican food I've ever had.

Otherwise , this restaurant is easily overlooked due to the busy strip center it's located in on Trolley Road. This interior is vibrant with vivid pops of color throughout with large sombreros decorating the bar, a hand painted ceramic fountain and beautiful murals on the wall. The mural near the bathrooms appears to be three dimensional and gives the appearance you are entering a door located down a cobblestone road in a welcoming village. I asked my server how long the restaurant had been there and was told twenty years so I imagine the interior design is recent because everything looked new. As for the menu, it was huge. It was approximately seven pages including the kid's menu on the back. Each page has about twenty items or more on it so it's a lot of choices. I imagine it's very difficult to provide excellent quality of food for that many options which always makes me weary. I did appreciate that they featured items that many Mexican restaurants don't offer like Tacos Al Pastor, Sopes and even Barbacoa-all Americanized versions of course. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas and shrimp and grouper ceviche. I found the food to be average at best. Nothing spectacular but it did the job of extinguishing my hunger. The service was excellent. My waitress kept my drink filled and had no problem accommodating my dietary requests (no carbs- so she swapped the beans and rice for veggies and extra salad and made the ceviche without tostadas ). She was very friendly and attentive without hovering. Overall, I had a good dining experience here and I would probably return to try the Tacos Al Pastor and Barbacoa when I am eating carbs again.
