A few blocks away from the Main Street of Roosevelt, I don't normally see a lot of people inside while driving by. However, sitting inside this place is a completely different experience. It borders an apartment lounge with large windows, and it somewhat looks like a part of the coffee shop. What is part of the shop is the cool firepit that runs all year long. Then there are tables inside and a long bar. There's no shortage of seats, and they're all comfy! There are a lot of in-and-out patrons so it can be busy. This would be my favorite coffee work space if I wasn't too lazy to walk here. I still feel that there are a lot of their menu items I have yet to try. Haven't found a favorite, haven't had bad coffee/tea yet. Really looking forward to the alcoholic drinks! read more

I came here a couple times, once for coffee and once for cocktails. There is no private parking lot but there is 2 hour street parking all around the area. They have free wifi and a lot of tables which makes it nice to get some work done. There's also a fireplace so you can sit with friends around a fire to warm up during the Seattle winters. I ordered a 12oz latte ($5) which was good and not too sweet. I also liked the latte art on top. When I came here for cocktails I ordered the old fashioned ($13) which is interesting because there's a laphroaig rinse. I thought the drink was just okay and I don't think the islay scotch rinse did anything to the cocktail. I think this place is good for coffee and just okay for cocktails. If you're coming here for cocktails just remember the workers are more so baristas than bartenders so I would lower your expectations. read more

Armistice Coffee. -1 - Options. Despite being another roaster in Seattle, it lacks any brew options beyond espresso drinks or house blend drip. +1 - Service. The barista represented the coffee in the carafe, going as far as stating the regions and the roast type. +1 - Knowledge. The barista on-hand speaks well of the roasted coffee they provide. +1 - Ambience. The music volume is medium and they have no sound proofing. -1 - Accessibility. This location is adjacent to a main arterial and operates within a mixed-use commercial/residential property. So parking is pretty hard to find. without parking a few blocks away. However, I could also see merit in this being a bonus for those who live nearby looking for a walking-distance cafe. Background. Arriving at the address, I found parking to be a bit of a chore. This is, of course, because of Zone restricted parking for nearby residents. Given the time of day, I managed to find a parking spot around the block. The entrance is well lit, the doorway accessible by those needing accommodations and the counter immediately in front of you. Inquiring about brew options was met with only espresso or drip. The drip was a house blend of various regions and roasted light. The barista did volunteer that they do not brew any of their other beans. So if you're looking to return another day for a different brew option, you probably shouldn't waste your time. Without background understanding on cost of rent, staffing, and ingredient costs, the 16-ounce cup of coffee was over $5. Refills are over $2. As for the coffee, it is most definitely a light roast, although not at an acidic level that was abhorrent. As for pastries, the cafe supports a local french bakery down the street. In fact, some baristas enjoy the food offered at their cafe. Some will even visit the source bakery. As far as ambience is concerned, there is plenty of seating that is comfortable, yet the volume of the music isn't dulled by sound-proofing in the ceiling. So, expect an echoed experience when engaging with people or simply reading your phone/a book/or publication. Overall, this is not a space that I wouldn't return to. However, as I'm looking for a roaster that offers single serve brew options, other than drip or espresso, I will have to cross this one off my list. Mind you, the house blend is satisfying if you are looking for a soft wake up in the morning. As always, your individual experience will vary. read more

This is my favorite place to study in the Roosevelt area. Armistice has a welcoming, low key atmosphere with friendly baristas, good music, and decent drinks. I say the drinks are decent because while I've mostly had good experiences, once in awhile it'll feel a bit overpriced for the quality (I'm looking at you, matcha latte) (but not you, cold brew). Their food is good, too, and it's nice to be able to grab a snack with your drink. It's a huge plus for me when a cafe has late hours, too. So many cafes close at 3 or 4pm nowadays, but Armistice is open through the evening! The outdoor seating is also quite cozy and has a fire pit for chillier days. However, for folks who like to study at cafes, I will say that this is certainly not the quietest nor most spacious cafe in the area. Many of the tables are fairly small and can be a challenge to use if you have something like a mouse or a notebook in addition to a computer. The bigger tables have always been occupied when I have visited. In addition, I've visited on several occasions where groups ranging of two to eight people are talking very loudly, which makes it a bit hard to concentrate unless you have loud music playing through your headphones. I'm all for people having fun, but wanted to point it out since I know there are other folks like me! read more

It's a rainy day and I thought it would be great to explore a lot of the coffee shops in this particular area. I stopped by a few in this street and I came here because the closing time here is pretty late. I usually get chai tea lattes in the cafes I go to. Also keep in mind they sell drinks here so the atmosphere is that of a modern cafe/bar. I see a lot of people reading and studying here but to be honest The music was a little to loud for me. The chai itself was spicy and the flavor was good but it was so watery for me ..... probably one of the worser chais I have gotten ever :( kind of disappointed. I usually don't like giving bad reviews too I think here would have been a great place to hang out with a friend and chat life away. But I was here alone and if I was in the mood for studying or reading - I would choose a cafe that is a little quieter - just my personal preference read more

Armistice just opened 3 days ago so I decided to come in this weekend to check it out! I had been following progress of the construction (and had seen how amazing it looked in pics) so was curious to visit! (I have also been to their other location on Eastlake and enjoy the vibe there, so wanted to see how the new location compared!) First, the baristas were cheerful and friendly. I opted for an iced latte (for here) and it comes in a cute mason jar-type mug (see pics). The latte itself was great! There's plenty of seating in little nook areas as well as a bar area and then longer table, etc. I like how the seating is a little more segmented so you don't feel like you're sitting right next to someone. For example, there are a few small "alcoves" where you can sit in your own somewhat private area (see pic).They also serve beer/wine so it's a place you can come not only for coffee but after work w/ friends. The outdoor deck has a fire pit and looks amazing! I can't wait to come back to visit on a sunnier day. They also serve food (I didn't order any this visit but saw a quiche and a few other items). There isn't a password required for the WiFi -- I was able to connect with no issues. I love the interior decor/vibe. It's modern but cozy at the same time. If we are talking sitting area, this place is amazing, its well decorated, lots of seating, both indoor and outdoor, lots of table space, and a bomb dirty chai latte. There is two different outdoor seating areas, a patio with a fireplace that is covered and another area outside in a corridor with lights strung up. Came to this coffee shop upon friend's recommendation. I love the aesthetic of the space and the barista was very friendly. Recently, the restaurants and indoor settings allow 25% capacity so there are customers inside and a few individuals did not have their masks on, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable (they were not sipping on coffee or eating). I ended going out to the outdoor seating area to finish my coffee. I ordered the Lavender latte with beautiful latte art. What I really want to say is I like some things a lot, and I think there are other places far better on other metrics. 1) Wi-fi: 5/5. I could make video calls in here! Pretty great for getting work done! 2) Seating: 5/5: They have a *variety* of options with varying ranges of coziness. 3) Coffee/food: 1/5. I think this is the most overpriced coffee and food I've had in Ravenna/U-district. More than $10 for a tiny quiche? More than $5 for the smallest size latte (regular milk)? I would be okay with those prices if the quality was actually worth it, but I don't think it's that good. (To be clear, it's not *bad*, but it's just your average coffee-shop-stuff, so I think it should cost just as much as an average coffee shop). 4) Number of power outlets: 1/5. I found only three, and they aren't spread out well enough. So, if you want to sit here for a long period of time to get work done, you better get lucky at some point to snag a spot next to an outlet. 5) Music: 3/5. What a beautiful new coffee joint! I love the original location in Eastlake (my old neighborhood) and was so excited when I saw another location was in the works. The inside is beautiful--ample seating, pleasant lighting, and a relaxing color scheme. One of the best things about this place is the hours. I stopped in just before 8pm on a Thursday and saw they were open until 10. That's great because they have booze and a firepit outside. I will definitely be coming back another day to utilize both of those things. I can't say much about the drinks because I ordered a tea, but the barista was fast and friendly. My lavender latte was creamy and delicious. The right ratio of espresso to oat milk. My spinach and bacon quiche however was just okay. It was heated all the way, as the inside was cold. I have to say, I was a little disappointed in my cappuccino. It was teeny tiny and very watery for the price. The croissant on the other hand? Show stopper. Loved it. Aside from coffee, they offer pastries, beer, wine, tea, and cocktails! We didn't stay long, but I ordered a latte and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Turkish coffee, which we had never tried before. It was OKAY, nothing interesting. That's not to be negative about the way they made it, since we had never had it, we can't really say if it was a well prepared coffee. As for pricing, it's not cheap but it's also not too expensive. That alone would make me go back here anytime someone knows enough about the products they carry gets a high praise from me. So I went with almond milk instead in my latte. Beautiful latte art and taste great. My friend got a Pain au chocolat to go with her hazelnut latte. This space serves alcohol at night and has a cute fire pit outside. There are lots of windows that open up which during covid is a bonus. Tables were clearly marked where not to sit. Loved all the live plants and touches of copper accessories.
