    Seafood pasta

Seemed like a go-to spot for locals. Owner recognized and greeted many of the patrons. It was nice to see. Food was decent. Branzino was really well cooked and seasoned. Baked clams were okay. Seafood pasta was on the lighter side. Tiramisu was tasty. Laid back vibe. Service was disappointing. Lacked warmth and attentiveness. Had to ask for a new knife after they took away the old one; had to ask for a bowl for the shells; had to ask for water; so on. That being said, I still recommend it if you are in the area.

Nothing special about this restaurant; food was mediocre but service was on point. Appreciated owner/manager? checking up on us. Was worth trying since I haven't visited an Italian restaurant in the neighborhood.

Came with with five friends. The wait staff seated us right away. They gave us a nice big round table in the back which was very comfortable. The location does still have some petitioning but did not force masks or any other unnecessary protocols. We did order drinks and everyone felt the drinks were very good. I had the strawberry frozen margarita with sugar in the rim and it really was a great drink. We had some appetizers like fried calamari and some other things. I tried the fried calamari and it was cooked just right with great flavor in the sauce. For my entree I ordered lobster tails with broccoli and potato crochets. Everything I has was delicious and cooked correctly. Our meals were not rushed and also did not take too long. The wait staff gave us a great amount of time in between courses. Pricing was good as it was appropriately expensive but not crazy expensive. All and all a great experience una family style restaurant. We even had deserts and I have to say the capuchino was also very good.

Delicious carrot cake to end our dinner! Looking forward to coming back.

I'm so glad to come out to Queens for this fantastic restaurant. Delicious foods, amazing service, and beautiful ambiance. Perfect for a romantic outing or on your own at the table or by the bar. I had the trout almondine (tonight's special) and my friend had the pork Armando. Let's just say we ate every bite! The food was so good that we also added a few appetizers (clam oreganata, armondo's italian salad). And if you fancy something else not on the menu, ask the staff. I hear the chef is fast to improvise to create a dish for you. We even had special salad with a touch of habenero peppers from the garden.

    Delicious Tiramisu!

Been coming here with my girlfriends for years! Love the coziness and warmth of the place! The waiters are exceptional, very attentive and kind. Once they even watched my car outside for 30 minutes to ensure I wouldn't get a ticket! The food is delicious and the orders come out quickly. I usually get a caprese salad and pappardelle bolognese. And my usual dessert is a perfect tiramisu. They have wonderful specials here as well! I've celebrated many birthdays here for myself and for my friends. They always go the extra step to ensure we are well taken care of! I commend them on their covid protocol, the staff wore masks the entire time and they checked our vaccine cards upon arrival so i felt safe! The owner came by our table last time to make sure were enjoying! We will keep returning to this neighborhood gem!

Today we ordered the apple salad, octopus, meatballs, lasagna, fruit de mare, and Armondo's seafood platter. Each meal better than the other. The homemade tiramisu is excellent also. This is my favorite restaurant these days. Service always great. Ambiance is cozy. Ppl from all walks of life. I saw 2 priest celebrating a birthday!! NYY game on is a plus.

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

It's a solid 3.5 stars so I averaged upward. The misses: I ordered what I believe was the most expensive item (chicken parm) and received the less than stellar experience (see picture) of a meal. As Rodney used to say: "it was fit for a king, here's King, here King." The chicken was precooked fully and then reheated after the sauce and mozzarella was placed above it. This is a twofold quick fire method of serving guests quickly and having those guests not return. To be clear the taste was superb but the texture was not. Think microwaved chicken but unlike microwaved chicken, my order came out somewhere between lukewarm and WTF?!? We ordered the Ill described beet salad with goat cheese that oughta have been named arugula salad with beets and goat cheese if there was dressing, I don't taste it. So I asked for some olive oil and S&P. I can conclusively assert that she brought salt and pepper. The jury is still out whether I received olive oil. The meatballs we ordered would make mamma cry, but not from happiness. They were overly salted and dense like some Balkan kabob kinda thing like spicy soujuks. Our waiter and waitress combo were very nice and equally aloof. The pleasant accent revealed that hospitality was not their first language. And now for the hit, and almost great: we ordered the truffle oil fungi pizza. Taste, and texture were excellent but it needed a wee more time for the cheese to fuse with the rest of the ingredients. I forgot to ask them to add olive oil atop of the mozz prior to placing the pizza in the over. Despite this detail the pizza still was the best item we ordered. Overall their cuisine was a valiant effort. I'll most certainly return (but after I diet try every other restaurant in Astoria that I haven't tried before and try again those that I have.

What bothers me is no mention when making the reservation it's just the pre fixe menu and upon actually doing the math and adding all of the items we got for 2 people going off their regular menu prices we actually ended up paying about $30 more which is usually not the case in other restaurants this should have been much cheaper. There was only one server working the floor, but with just two tables occupied, service was quick and attentive. Hard to say how it'd hold up on a busier day. The truffle fries also landed well -- crisp, and the truffle came through without being overpowering. The lasagna was the weak point. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either -- nothing about it stood out enough to recommend. Dessert was the high note. The "Baby Jesus" is genuinely decadent -- rich and indulgent, the kind of thing worth saving room for. One letdown: no mocktails on the menu.
