I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from Newberg Chevrolet. I purchased my vehicle in November 2024. My clean vehicle rebate (over $2,000.) is in limbo due to their negligence in providing the necessary paperwork. I've contacted them six times by phone and email and the manager (Sam Pyne) has assured me assistance but nothing has happened. I had to research the actions needed to remedy my situation, made them aware of what needs to be done, and they still can't or won't help. I'm extremely disappointed in their customer service and lack of follow through. read more

Worst service department experience by incompetent manger and techs. Brought vehicle in for a service that when done correct should not leave the vehicle in worse condition than before work had been done. You A- Arm holes know what you did and should replace damaged parts with new ones, however you did not. 1 star rating is not low enough. Service Tech should have taken more time, been more careful and not been such a hack. Second time this incompetence has happened, service manager exclaimed why bring it here? What a joke of a manager. Take your vehicle anywhere else. Definitely check to make sure that they did the work you paid good money for and did not damage other parts. Based on my recent experience, my advice is be cautious when dealing with the used vehicles available at this dealership. I visited this dealership looking to buy a pre-owned vehicle which they had on the lot that I was specifically targeting and it was an attractive price. I am quite a distance away so I pre-negotiated a discounted price before making the long drive. First clue I should have had about the dealership was that their inspection showed tire depths at 2/32 and 3/32. This was noted as a recommended service by their tech. I followed up with the salesperson on this and he told me that the management team decided that new tires were not necessary despite the tech's recommendation. I don't expect to buy a used car from a dealer and immediately need to run to the tire shop but I rationalized it because I would be able choose the exact tire I wanted and hold the tire warranty. The cost for new tires was part of my negotiated price discount. Second clue I should have heeded was that the salesperson agreed to take a price via text but then went against what we had agreed to because he said that the GM overruled him and his manager. It was only a few hundred dollars so I decided to overlook that. Upon arrival, the car we came in to see was pulled up front so I thought a good start. Once we got closer to the vehicle, I noticed that it was quite dirty (not washed in some time). A little disappointing but we did show up within 30 minutes of the dealership opening so in fairness, they may not have had enough time to wash it. I started to visually inspect the vehicle. Immediately I noticed that there was an abnormal gap between the rear bumper and the rear quarter panel. The bumper looked to have been impacted hard enough to create a small crease outward in the bumper where the seam was between the 2. Enough that it was easily and clearly visible. I found it disappointing that this was not remedied before showing the vehicle. To their credit, they did agree to "look" at the bumper clip in a "we owe you" but their tone did not inspire any confidence that "looking" at it meant that they would truly fix the issue AND since service was closed on the weekend, I would need to come back which was a large challenge for me living quite far away. We took it for a drive and it ran great. Got back to the lot and the detail guy immediately went to wash the car. After about 20 minutes, he returned. I went to examine the car again to see if there were other blemishes which are always easier to when a care is clean. There were numerous yellow paint dots (like paint splatter) on the drivers side from the front bumper, on the front wheel all the way back to the rear door. We concluded that this was likely yellow street line paint that was not dry. The manager came out and said it was an easy fix and that the detail guy could easily address this with "solvent". I asked why it wasn't already noticed and done. I mean the detail guy had just washed and dried the car. Should a potential buyer have to demand that this kind of easy fix be done? I don't think so. Ultimately they were able to remove the yellow paint dots. I am not saying avoid this dealership. I'm advising folks to exercise caution when considering a used vehicle from them. I walked away with the impression that this dealership either doesn't pay enough attention to detail to notice things that matter to buyers (admittedly I do consider myself a discriminating buyer with high standards) or they notice them but don't value the customer enough to actually recondition/remedy issues without specific prompting. I realize that they are in business to make a profit but the decisions they made with this particular vehicle and transaction were questionable in my opinion. You can't make a profit until the car actually sells. Had they simply addressed the items I noticed and called out during their vehicle inspection and reconditioning process, I very likely would have purchased the vehicle from them. The real truth is that it wasn't really the specific items I called out but more their response and reactions to my statements that gave me pause. Ultimately, I decided to purchase a different vehicle from another dealership later that day. I think the specific car I looked at was worth the money but my confidence in this dealership was shaken by my experience to the point of feeling like I was better off buying from another dealership. read more

I had a great experiences with my sales rep Steven when I bought my Chevy Blazer. He offered to fill up my car and sent his lot porter to gas it up. When he returned there was a slight dent/scratch on bumper. The desk guy took pictures and said to bring it back in. Well, long story short...my cruise control was not working for over 2 weeks so I took it to my local Chevy dealership Alan Webb Chevrolet in Vancouver, WA to look at it. Well after a week of them confused after replacing a bunch of parts thinking it was what was wrong, it ended up being the small dent damage from lot porter that broke the sensor bracket causing the cruise control not to work. After I picked up my car I reached out to Arthur (manager) at Newberg Chevrolet and asked me to send photo's to his phone and would have someone reach out the replace the damaged part. Fast forward 3 Weeks and no one has responded and I've texted Arthur 3 more times and still no response. I guess I'm taking them to court now since no one has responded. Sucks cause Steven was great during sales process and hopefully he gets recognized for it. read more

When we got the car back it will completely shut off now at intersections and doesn't shift right at all. we took it back in to have these problems checked out and they are telling me that there is no warranty on there work or the brand new transmission so I'm just going to have to pay to fix there mistakes that were made. read more

I took my low mileage Chevrolet Silverado to Newberg Chevrolet a few years ago to mechanically update it as it was nearing 20 years old. I spoke with the service manager and explained (verbally and in writing) what I wanted done, as I planned to use this truck to tow my fifth wheel trailer in retirement. When I picked the truck up, I found that they opted to ignore my specific parts requests and installed only GM parts (including a plastic intake manifold, known for premature failure). They optionally damaged the front bumper, knocking off deer whistles and left grease on new Weather Tech floormats. Two years later, I took the truck on a trip cross country and numerous parts that they installed failed, causing the Check Engine light to illuminate and coolant to leak all over the engine compartment. In the two years since it was serviced, the truck was garage kept, accumulated only 4,000 miles, and was only used for towing. The cross country trip added 7,000 miles, during which time the Check Engine light was constantly on and it leaked anti-freeze. When I took the truck back to Newberg Chevrolet, the Service Manager dismissed me, saying that the factory warranty was up and that there was nothing that they could do for me, as I had repairs made at a non-dealer shop with non-factory parts (Why would I replace a leaking two year old OEM water pump with another one?). As I was leaving, I walked past Roger Kehdi, the dealership owner. I mentioned that I had several new OEM parts fail on my truck and that I was going to write a bad review. He followed me out to my car and tried to talk me into oil changes and car detailing. When I refused (didn't want any more damage done), he ghosted me. Folks, this is not Butler Chevrolet anymore. The quality service and honesty are long gone. I recommend avoiding this dealership. read more

I purchased a used truck from these people (I use that term loosely and charitably) October 2023. Everything about this sale made me feel slimy. As we were doing the paperwork, they kept coming up with fees (like the theft protection thing) that they said were already done to the vehicle, so I had to buy them, but then the paperwork would make it seem voluntary, like I had an option. They came out with paperwork for me to sign that said 8% interest on the loan, then when the final documents came out, it was at 10%. They said the 8% number, that I attached my signature to, was "just an example!" Totally misleading. During the test drive, the truck had a vibration to it that the salesman wrote off to "stiffer truck suspension." I made the mistake of trusting him, because it got worse. A couple of months after I bought the truck, I brought it to a mechanic who showed me the transmission fluid, which was "burnt and filled with particles." They told me it probably needed a new transmission. I brought the truck to a transmission rebuild specialist, who agreed it needed a new transmission, and that given how bad the fluid was, and the hesitations and vibrations he was feeling, there was no way the sellers could have missed the problems. He was confident that it was impossible that the fluid was fine a few months before, and that the problems started after I bought the truck. Of course, Newberg Chevrolet had paperwork that made it seem that all their inspections were fine, and that when they checked the fluid and the driving, it was fine. Not according to a 40 year transmission expert in Eugene. I ended up having to pay for a rebuilt transmission, $4700, just a few months after I bought the truck. All the people I talked to about this situation seemed confident that since this was a dealership, they would at least help out somewhat, on a vehicle that needed major repair when they sold it to me as working fine. Nope. Not a dime. STAY AWAY FROM NEWBERG CHEVROLET IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE LIKE MINE!! read more

Purchased a 2019 Chevy Express work van. When test driving the vehicle with the sales man the fan motor intermittently turned off. Upon discussing this the salesman stated if you buy the vehicle we will take care of the fan issue. Made the deal and showed up for the "repair" appointment that was set at the same time as the sale, only to be given a diagnostic with a bid for $550 to replace the fan motor and relay". I advised the service team it was supposed to be a covered repair and was met with our notes show we are only covering the diagnostic. He brought the sales manager out who blatantly lied stating he said they would only cover the diagnostic. I told him that was not what was agreed upon and he said we did what we said we would do and to have a nice day. I called him out again only to be shut down. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM EVEN IF THEY PROMISE TO FIX AN ISSUE, they will screw you in the end. Way to make good on a sales deal. What a joke. read more

I went here to get my car serviced and it was just fine; it cost significantly less than I thought it would be (under sixty dollars for an oil change, tire rotation, new bulb and full inspection.) The front desk person was gruff and off-putting at first, but by the end he was very friendly and even honored an online deal that I added when I booked the appointment. The waiting area was clean and had enough spacing for Covid-19, but was as exciting as a waiting room could be for two hours. Likely, my next vehicle will be a Tesla and I will never need to buy another car from Chevy; I'll only come for servicing on my beloved Spark. But if, for some reason, I needed to buy a gas-powered truck, this would be the place to go. read more

What an amazing dealership. We went to look at a truck they had that we wanted to order from a different dealership. We were greeted by the most wonderful people working there that went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We were given access to the truck to see inside finish. When we had been given enough time to look the truck over a salesman named Doug came out and asked if we were interested in taking it for a test drive. After obtaining a copy of my license and insurance he handed me the key and allowed my wife and I to take a 20 minute drive unaccompanied. This was huge to both of us as it allowed us to speak freely about the ride. He gave us directions to a ride that allowed us to get a clear sense of what the truck could do. After returning we were never pressured at all about buying it. We went inside and asked if we would like an appraisal of our trade in. They quickly inspected our truck and gave us the value. We were impressed by the deal they were offering and decided to talk with them. The salesman Doug was very pleasant and welcoming and not at all pressing. While he was working up the numbers we were greeted by the owner who spent a good deal of time getting to know us. Long story short we ended up making the deal with them and couldn't be happier. We ended up with a 2020 High Country 3500 dually in white which was exactly what we were going to order. I searched and was working with my local dealership (dick hannah....ugh), a dealer in Gresham, two dealers in Idaho, and another in Hillsboro. All these dealers were very pushy. Some worse then others. I ended seeing a truck I liked alot online at Newberg Chevrolet. I called on the vehicle and ended up talking to Tavis. I told him I wasn't sure when I could look at the vehicle due to my very odd and hectic work schedule, and being that I live in battle ground Wa. Tavis offered to meet me with the pickup so I could look at it, and to make it easier for me. After I checked out the pickup Tavis followed up with me one time, and was not pushy. Which I really appreciated. That following weekend I drove to their dealership to buy the truck. When I arrived I was happy to see that it is a smaller dealership with a hometown vibe. The process was very easy and painless. We were pre approved through our c/u. When we were going through the paperwork with the dealerships finance guy (man I wish I could remember his name)(the really tall nice guy.) He said he could get us a better interest rate and he did for sure. We thought that was awesome! He tried to save us money when and where he could. This guy was so personable and courteous, He was great!! This was a great experience at this dealership, and I would recommend them based off my time here. read more

You know how it is. You may have used a business for a long time without any hitches and then something happens which causes you to consider greener pastures. In this case, I'm talking about being a loyal customer of a singular or very small group of auto dealerships for automotive maintenance and repairs. I found Newberg Chevrolet by phone ... and not by text. Having a brief conversation with a service adviser can often help you determine whether or not you want to do business with them. You'll never get that feeling had you sent them a text! Also, I met this agency when it was Loren Berg Chevrolet. It has been bought by another person or entity, though not a mega-dealership, and is now named Newberg Chevrolet, after the Yamhill County city where it is located. The phone conversation indicated a price for a service menu item, a flexibility, and a casual, friendly approach that I felt I could work with. And, when I did go to Newberg Chevrolet for service, the same casual, friendly approach prevailed, whether it was with the service adviser, the cashier, techs, or people I encountered while I wandered into the showroom. A lot of Yelp reviewers like to mention the names of who they interacted with, be it good or bad. I generally don't do that. What I will say is that my visit to this dealership's service department, getting the repair order written up, and discussing things automotive were like having a casual conversation. That's how it should be. Prior to this, the one dealership where I first encountered that to this degree was Gold Rush Chevrolet in Northern California. That said, I went back, driving a fair amount of distance, and had that dealership do more work for me when maintenance intervals rolled around. I don't like it when, as a person in the waiting room, one can get impatient with only having a TV, magazines, kids' toys, and coffee as one's distractions. I'd rather be pawing cars. One salesperson was showing me around and, while not twisting my arm to make a sale, he did want to point out some good deals to me. I told him I was "in service" and not in the market. All others in sales were very laissez faire when I told them I was waiting for my car to be finished and were perfectly willing to talk cars and other stuff. I really enjoyed my two visits here - once for a more major item and another time for a routine lube, oil, and filter. They did a great job and even gave the car a bath. You can easily get to Newberg Chevrolet using 99W and it's the next major town past Sherwood. Remember, though, that getting over to 99W from the SW suburbs can take a little extra time during rush hour. And, it need not be a Chevrolet that they service for you. They are able to service the GM brands since systems and components are often shared. That was the case with my car. My advice to Newberg Chevrolet: don't change and keep up the good work. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I will absolutely NEVER take my car to Newberg Chevrolet again. I took my new car in for a routine first oil change and when I got home my car leaked out all the oil in my driveway. I had to have my car towed back to the dealership to find out that they broke the oil filter gasket. They then kept my car overnight and told me they cleaned the undercarriage of my car. After an hour of being home I realized they did NOT clean all the oil and it continued to leak large amounts of oil again on my driveway. I then had to drive back to the dealership a 3rd time so they could "clean" all the oil off my car. I am absolutely disgusted by the way the handled this situation, and that they lied about cleaning up all the oil that got spilled all over. I will NEVER EVER come back to Newberg Chevrolet and I will never recommend their service department to anyone ever again. read more

I had a Recall on my 2017 GMC Sierra for the brakes. Had to reflash the computer 30 minute job. I asked about another issues and they said they could look at it. I said I will bring it back another time. I need my truck back and get back to work. Went to check out and they hit me with a $65.00 diagnostic fee. I said I did not ask for this. When they plug into the computer to reflash for the brake recall they get the code and then charge me. Not good. This is free at any local auto parts store. Plus the part they said was 3 hours labor and would cost $400.00. I just put the part in and put my hands through the grill and plugged it in and took 3 minutes. I do not mind paying for something, but hate getting ripped off. Since it has changed hands from Lornberg to Newberg Chevrolet has gone way down hill. I would really like to support local business and Newberg Chevrolet makes it impossible to do so. read more

Worst experience of my car buying life. Like another reviewer stated, I was also charged more than the price agreed upon. I don't believe it was there objective to do so but it happened. I was the only one who caught it after driving 3 hours back home? I called in the next day & they were more than happy to fix the price, but it's really not the point. It's something that should have been caught. I went into the dealership knowing exactly what I wanted after doing a ton of research. Over the phone the salesman made it very clear that if I purchased something off the lot he would give me a good deal vs them having to find the exact car I wanted at another lot so I decided to drive to them. I was promised by the salesman Leandrew that he would be able to add the floor mats into the car I purchase off their lot. Only to be told SIX HOURS LATER that the deal we agreed upon was void. AKA no floor mats. I was extremely upset but at that point I just wanted to go home. I ended up going to the parts department to order floor mats for $120 which should have came with the car as we agreed upon. Then I signed the paperwork and I left. When I got home I just felt sick about the entire experience. First I was lied to by the saleman about what our deal included. Then I was charged the wrong price for the car. Had continuous up selling during the signing of my car almost 7 hours into being at the dealership. But it gets worse. So I bought an electric car, you'd think after being at the dealership for 7-8 hours the car would be charged? Nope. Used nothing but gas. After filling up my gas tank the salesmen hit the bottom of my new car on the road. He totally apologized & I knew he obviously didn't mean to but I'm sure he uses that gas station weekly to know how step the road is. Just another careless mistake on their part. Trust me, gets worse. Had a call from the salemen after I called in & told them I was charged the wrong price. He basically blamed my husband who is deployed in Iraq as the reason I was at the dealership for 7-8 hours... seriously. Yes, I waited until he was up to sign for a $30,000 car. I needed to make sure he knew what we were getting for the trade ins and what the final price was. By 2 o'clock we had already decided on a price and confirmed with everyone including my husband on the purchase. But I didn't leave until 6:30.. I see how my husbands to blame for this. Yes, it gets worse. I went back in to sign all new paperwork with the correct pricing on my day off. Drove the 3 hours there & no one really seems surprised I was charged the wrong price? Yes they apologized but not one person seemed sincere. Nothing was offered to me at all for the inconvenience. No I don't want $1,000 off my car but maybe offer to fill up my tank or maybe give me the floor mats I was promised? But nothing. So as soon as I was done signing I left. The manager, Joe, calls me roughly 15 minutes after I had left to apologize for not being able to see me before I left. I told him about everything that went wrong and how I felt about the experience. I told him about the floor mats (yes, a small purchase but not the point I wanted them & was promised them) he told me he would see what he could do & would call me back. That was Wednesday at 11:30am & I've yet to receive a callback. All things considered, I will say everyone was nice at this dealership. The finance guys were both very sweet. The manager seemed nice & sincere when I met him that first day. The car salemen, well he was nice but not very knowledgeable about my specific car & clearly made a promise he could not keep. If I could do this all over again, I would gladly have paid more for my car at another dealership that had honest workers. I felt like I was lied to and totally conned. I'm a very down to earth person & easy to please, but I don't like being lied to. If you tell me you're going to call me back, call me. If we agree floor mats are coming with my car, order them and have them sent to me. If we agree on price A don't charge me price B. read more

I couldn't recommend going to Newberg Chevrolet more. Big Dave the salesman and Robert the sales manager are fantastic. I have been looking for a specific car for a while, and after seeing they had what I was looking for Big Dave worked out a fantastic trade-in deal for me. A day after I had officially signed all the paperwork, handed over the title and keys to my old vehicle, and handed them a check, I noticed that a feature we both thought the vehicle had actually wasn't installed. It was an honest mistake, but unfortunately a dealbreaker for me. Because of my previous experiences with dealerships and from everything you hear about them, I assumed since the paperwork was signed and they had my money/car that they wouldn't care in the slightest or not return my calls. Fearing the worst and thinking I was stuck with my mistake, I called Robert asking what he could to help me. He was immediately sympathetic and without my suggesting it, offered to reverse the deal. This is absolutely unheard of from a dealer. I returned the vehicle the next day with no trouble, and both Big Dave and Robert were very apologetic and friendly about the situation. We took ourtruck taken to Newberg Chevrolet for a recall issue. Took in at 9:00am as instructed. The service department employee was not at the desk and took a few minutes to get to his computer to help. Then it took a while to get signed in because his computer was non responsive and had to re-boot. That happens! They called to pick up. I specifically called back to make sure there would be someone there so we could pick up truck during the lunch hour. I was told the cashier is always there. So we went to pick up. At first my husband (the only customer in the service department) waited for 5 minutes, then an employee breezed thru and asked if he could help. Once he did he rand the bell at the cashier desk and said she'd be there in a moment. About 5 minutes later, the cashier showed up and by then my husband was not real happy about the customer service. He told them all he wants to do is pick up truck that had warranty work done. The phone rang, and cashier proceeded to answer and talk to the person on the phone with my husband standing right in front of her!! By then my husband is saying just give me the keys in a loud voice, which brought another employee from another area running. That employee handed the key to my husband and he stormed out. When he got to the truck, another employee comes running out for a signature. Remember, he was the only customer in the service area this whole time. We have bought over 10 cars/trucks from Loren berg Chevrolet in last 40 years and all service done there. Never again. This is third issue we have had..slow learners! read more

Newberg Chevy is a place I would strongly recommend to everyone I know and who I don't know. I came there to trade my truck and I got a new one from them, was not planning to do al that that day, but everything turned out so NOT complicated that I thank Ryan Gallagher kept fighting with his team of sales and financial guys for us to present us with the best offer that we couldn't refuse. Oh he served us with good beverages and he played a guitar for his clients and he is a bodybuilder fanatic(sorry Ryan). Anyways, now I have two Chevies at my house and my first one I got from McGlophlin Chevy and I came to Newberg Chevy because this place is just BETTER. We bought a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 in February '21 from Newberg Chevy, and in just 3 months, in May with only 5,800 miles...the engine lifters blew when we were on I5. We bought the truck there and service dept says they are trying to get new parts to do the replacement. I was told that this is a common issue on the 5.3L motor, yet the service and manufacturer warranty will only replace the one side of the motor, and not replace all the lifters. I am not happy at all about the lack of customer service regarding the replacement of any defective parts inside the motor by GM. The truck is BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 5,800 miles. IF Chevy and the GM bean counters cared about customers and their motors, then they would just do the entire lifter job knowing that these parts are defective. Brake pad service was about 30% higher than Tire Factory. Tire prices quoted were 30-35% higher than Wilsonville Chevrolet. Chevrolet's official tire site doesn't even list Newberg as an option when buying tires! I found that strange. I also tried to see if packing several different maintenance jobs would save any money, but it did not. Very disappointed. read more

They made me feel extremely comfortable and talked to me like a friend. They don't pressure you at all and really are there whenever you're ready. Stopped in for an oil change, no problem. The atmosphere has changed and neither of the longtime service advisors Merrit or Travis were behind the counter to greet me. They always knew who I was when I came in because I have serviced my 2 vehicles there for several years now. It's the end of the year and I was half expecting the callendar give aways that have been done under the previous owner. I haven't given up yet, but the family atmosphere that kept me loyal just dosen't seem to be there any more.
