You can never go wrong with an Arni's Jr. . This is a salad that is top full of diced meat and cheese. There's a little bit of radish in it too. I love their blue cheese dressing. It is so thick and creamy and you really don't taste the blue cheese crumbles at all. I also enjoy their pepperoni pizza. I like how the pepperoni is crumbles. Thin crust makes it even more tasty in my opinion. The sauce is amazing! With a salad order, you'll be out the door in five minutes with a pizza order. You'll be out the door in 15 minutes. If you decide to dine in, they have several seats and some outdoor seating. I noticed they have soup on the menu too. That will be something to stop in and get this winter. read more

So thankful to, "Meet you at Arni's," in Crawfordsville, with my dear lifelong friend, who I met at swimming lessons at Milligan Park, (at age 3.) There is another Arni's close to my current home in Greenwood, but there is NO comparison to the Cville location, or the original in West Lafayette. The best pizza. The best salads. Delicious soup. Today, I tried the Vegetable Stromboli and was blown away by the amazing flavor, amount of veggies, and how filling the sandwich was on such a cold, snowy, blustery day! I only ordered HALF, and I could barely finish it alone. The Broccoli soup was delightful, and my daughter LOVED her mini cheese pizza. Great food! My go to spot in Crawfordsville. The pizza crust is so crisp and the sauce is excellent. Lots of toppings and a great atmosphere. My son who goes to Wabash loves the pizza here and chooses this over the many other options in town. We got two large pizzas and breadsticks, one with pepperoni and sausage, one with pepperoni and mushrooms. The sauce is great and the breadsticks are soft with crispy crust and awesome nacho cheese dip. The place was packed but the staff was friendly and welcoming. I've never had a pepperoni pizza like the one I just had. I could not find the BB sized pepperoni after I peeled back the cheese. I scraped some up. I think they just got very very cheap. the pepperoni was mush at best. I was told maybe it wasn't distributed well. You have to have it to spread it. just plain bad. I took more than half home. I don't know why because I cooked something else when home. Stopped in to Arni's on a lengthy road trip for some veggie-packed splendor (no one here wants scurvy!). Called ahead to ask if the breadsticks had dairy as my dining partner and I are vegan-ish and lactose intolerant. They have dairy in them, so we ordered a veggie supreme 7" pizza without cheese and a large chopped lettuce salad without radishes or red onions. Friendly customer service. I have heard Arnis is under new management and unfortunately the consumers can tell. Raised prices but less toppings. The salads were always a favorite and it was always a given the salad would be full of toppings. I ordered mine today and had three, yes three croutons, barely any meat and two slices of radishes. Called to order and someone answered and said "We're not taking any orders" and then hung up on us. Now upset, someone in my party called back to say that was horrible service and they lost a customer because of how rude they were. The gentleman who answered this time said, "He DID tell you we were closed, right?" So the upset member of my party advised of how the conversation went and this gentleman also hung up. Facebook and Google says they close at midnight, although their website says 10pm, which is fine, but why are phones being answered an hour after close and why are people hanging up on customers? Love Love Love! My childhood was all about walking to Arni's for breadsticks and cheese with just a plain cheese pizza! You can never go wrong with Arni's. Their salads are amazing as well. Every item on the menu is unlike any other pizza "joint" I've ever been to. Alot of the Arni's staff at this location are either Wabash College students or local students in the area. Everyone is kind and welcoming throughout the restaurant. It stays clean and tidy! This location does have a more limited menu to others (that I have experienced) but it's a lot of amazing classics that everyone loves. You can't go wrong with Arni's! read more

Why is this place popular?! As an East Coaster living in the Midwest, I'm used to disappointment. I've come to accept that my Hoosier friends might think Pizza King is good, might embrace Subway as a viable food option, etc. But I cannot excuse anyone's love for Arni's. I've given them three chances, and I've never seen anything that even approaches national chain quality (or as I'd call it, VORP--Value Over Replacement Pizza). The pizza is overpriced and not tasty. The ingredients are subpar. And they have the audacity to make some mushy roll with cheese and toppings wedged in and call it a "stromboli." There are plenty of "meh" pizza places in Crawfordsville. Admittedly, my familiarity of the Arni's menu is lacking. I usually wind up getting a pepperoni pizza every time, because I love it so much. The pizza here is unlike any other place. If you've never had Arni's before, throw your idea of a pepperoni pizza out the window. It's cut into small bits, and seasoned in a way that will get stuck in your head. I've heard the salads are good. I'm not a huge fan of any of their other types of pizzas. The pepperoni is something I have at least once or twice a month, though. I visited Arni's and ordered a 'Hot Sicilian' for dinner. It was incredible. I didn't know what to expect because I had never ordered it before but it was worth the chance I took. Normally, I might try to hide my initial enthusiasm or decide that a 5 is really a 4, merely in an effort to combat my own personal grade-inflation. But Crawfordsville could use a few more yelps and a little more enthusiasm and, besides, Arni's was downright good. So, why not show a little excitement for a little engine that truly could? On the recommendation of the driver who drove me to Crawfordsville, I had the "Gut Buster" sandwich. When I'd asked him what it was, he really couldn't describe it. And now that I've had one, I really can't either. Let's put it this way, if I were to try to make one of these at home, I'd take a delicious meat-ball, douse it in could-be-better-but-not embarrassing spaghetti sauce, and have it trampled under-foot. I'd then take the juicy, crumbled mess, chop an onion into it, cover it with mozzarella and toast the thing together between two halves of good, Italian bread. The result is a toasted sandwich, reminiscent of a meatball sandwich but with the texture of a Sloppy Joe. I haven't had anything else at Arni's, but the Gut Buster was a real treat! read more

It's always fairly underwhelming. The salad and breadsticks with nacho cheese is where it's at for me when it comes to Arni's. I often crave their Arni's junior salad. It's chopped iceberg lettuce covered with tons of toppings like: turkey, ham, radishes, onion, cheese, croutons, and probably something else yummy that I'm forgetting. Also, don't let the word "junior" fool you--this is not some tiny two-bite salad! Arni's really good about letting you customize your salad, too. I have never encountered an employee who complained or looked irritated when I said I did not want onions, which makes me a happy customer who always looks forward to my onion-less Arni's junior salad. read more

Every time I'm back on campus, I have to stop at Arni's! Arni's is one of those places that you just have a craving for their food every so often. Their pizzas are the old school style (kinda like Pizza king) but made with much better ingredients. Their salads are HUGE and are not just all lettuce, but generously helped on top ingredients. My all time favorite, and I can't seem to get off of this, is their Hot Ham and Cheese! Shredded ham, mozzarella cheese, placed into a bowl-cut like piece of bread/large-roll (covered with the top cut out), wrapped in foil and baked in their pizza oven for about 8-10 minutes! (Drool) AHHHHHH, heavenly sandwich, and hot hot hot!!!!! They also have a killer meatball sandwich (which stomps Subway's, Blimpie's or Quizno's) and a Stromboli that is out of this world. Their are Arni's locations in Indianapolis and Lafayette, IN, but this location is the only one I frequent. The Indianapolis location is a new one. They used to be at 86th and Michigan Road, but have now moved northeast to a brand new 96th Street location, between Keystone and Allisonville, near the Moon Dog, et al. Workers do seem to be moving too quickly to take orders properly, so be sure to speak your order clearly and get confirmation if ordering carry-out. I've been to Arni's a handful of times, and never had a bad experience. My most recent trip was with my children and my parents. The pizza was excellent as usual, and the staff were fabulous. They truly went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. Arni's pizza is similar in style to Pizza King, but the toppings are more plentiful than at the King. I've never tried any of their sandwiches, but my friends have always enjoyed them. The salads are amazing! I don't know what it is, but they're just really great. Always fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous. If you're in the mood for a not-so-healthy salad, I highly recommend the Southern Fried Chicken salad. The tables, floors, and bathrooms are always clean and in order. The only problem with Arni's is that their parking lot is very small. It's not hard to find parking nearby on the street, though. I grew up in the 'ville, but I've only eaten Arni's a few dozen times. I'm not sure why I've not been there more often, as it's one of the best cheapie food places in town. I had lunch here with my little bro (a Wabash student) this week. A Jr Salad (basic salad w/ham, turkey, cheese & assorted veggies), two orders of breadsticks & cheese with 2 drinks for around $11. The food came out quickly and piping hot. I'd also recommend their pizza (yup, very similar to Pizza King) and their stromboli sandwiches. The people are normally friendly & it's nice to frequent a locals place. It gets a little crazy at lunch from time to time, though, and it's a strange layout, so it feels even more cramped...no matter, once you've had your fill of carbs. :) read more
