Cuisine: 9 Service: 9 Decor: 8 Value: 7 Overall: 9 Okay, so I rarely review a restaurant that's been around for a while without multiple visits and trying out an assortment of the menu. However, I had to write about my wonderful experience. Meeting some friends in Manhattan for dinner, my friend Richard recommended Arno because it's his girlfriend's favorite restaurant. I have heard of the name, but never been here before. Upon us walking in, everyone had a smile on their faces and waved/said hello. As we got seated, the waiter said to our friend, "Amore mio, where have you been?" Nancy responded, "I move all the way out east on the island." And that's how our night began. The decor is a relatively old school vibe, with chandeliers and white clothed tables, but also some modern artwork of fashion adorn the walls. The waitstaff was wearing uniforms, treated us like regulars, and it felt like we're back in the 1920's. As for the food, Nancy and Richard were adamant about their Rigatoni all'Amatriciana, so the five of us shared two orders of that pasta as appetizers. Wow! What a punch of flavor! I had this dish before elsewhere, but none compares to the version here. The smoky bacon and sweet onions paired extremely well with the zesty tomato sauce with a slight kick. Of course, the rigatoni was perfectly al dente. For entrees, three of us newbies followed our friends' advice again and all got different forms of veal. That's five plates of veal, four different variations, on the table if you're keeping score. I got the Costoletta alla Parmigiana, which was super tender, wonderfully fried, and absolutely amazing! The veal special with portobello mushroom in white wine sauce was my second favorite, though all four versions were great. Then came the massive dessert cart. We were full, but felt a need to taste a few items to round the meal properly. I think the group favorite was the incredibly creamy and light NY Style Cheesecake. Another friend loved the Apricot Tart. The Mango Coconut Cake was just okay. Few days after the meal, I am still thinking about the fabulous experience. I don't know what else they do well or not, and I almost don't care. If I repeat the same few items whenever I come back, They will always leave with a huge smile and a happy stomach. read more

We recently dined here while on a holiday visit to NYC. it was very busy. Although it was super loud due to the number of diners we still had a great time. It reminded me of my Christmas Eves at my in laws house! Our server was very attentive and brought over waters and drinks right away. We ordered our dinners promptly as they had a lot going on. I had the Tagliolini Freschi con 4 Funghi. Absolutely delicious and fresh! All of my friends had amazing meals as well. I highly recommend this place. read more

Came here for a team dinner post conference and there was no one inside (yet). Crowd trickled in an hour later (7pm). We expressed that it was our first time and ALL the servers looked and acted like they hated serving us. We sat in circular table, ordered tea and water, and as the servers were handing out waters and tea, they looked SO annoyed that they had to walk around to put tea down. When it was time to order, they recommended a bunch of ways to start with/try different pastas. We didn't want that route, so we ordered apps to share and asked "do you think that's enough of apps to share among us?" And they replied "well are you hungry?" Came to Arno, for a private event, and had a fabulous time. The restaurant is well lit, has plenty of seating, and a large private area. The wait staff was extraordinary. They were dressed to impress, kept our large group comfortable, and explained every course before they were presented. Every single course was top notch, nicely presented, and the family style portions kept everyone content. The drinks were on point and everyone had rave reviews on how they enjoyed their choice. Mine was a Classic Margarita. The dinner started with Bruchetta and a salad. Then, we received Tortellini with penne pasta and marinara sauce. My main course was the Veal Marsala. This entire entree was so flavorful, had the perfect amount of salt, and a knife wasn't even necessary. I forgot to take pics of the dessert, but they presented plates with Cannolis, Tiramisu, Chocolate Cake, and Biscotti. Every piece was consumed within seconds and the Cappuccino capped of the meal perfectly. Solid Italian restaurant! Very welcoming place with great spacing between tables. Did not feel like you were crowded in. Staff was very on point and friendly. Knowledgeable about the menu and we're active and on point with everything. There was no pressure to rush even though we were there pre theater and around theater district ish. Dishes were tasty and the pasta was very good! Plenty of food per dish! Apps were great and bar was quick with your drink order! Lots of amazing deserts tiramisu was darn good! The food is consistently excellent, but what really sets Arno's apart are the people, Milan, Bronko, Carlos, and their fantastic team. Nestled in midtown on 38th St, Arno's offers a very old-school, white table cloth Italian restaurant atmosphere complete with uniformed waiters and staff. Lots of wood and charm throughout the space. Their menu offers some great classics and did not disappoint! We opted for the fried calamari appetizer (delicately fried), then ordered the tortellini bolognese (fresh pasta) and pollo alla limone (such a delicious sauce!), both excellent. We had veggie sides too (broccoli rabe and asparagus). The topper was the luscious dessert cart they brought to the table, full of many enticing choices. It's a big big room! I finally ate at this classic Midtown spot and ℹ thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a large party in the big upstairs room and we sat downstairs which was a small, but snazzy room. Ate: Bread Mixed salad Baked clams Swordfish Snapper & shellfish in a light red sauce Asparagus Total: $154 The waiters bring a Carbone like flair to the joint. Very fun. The bread was good! Best part when I asked for olive oil they gave me an Italian organic and for me that's heaven. Baked clams could have been crispier on top. Salad was very tasty Their mashed potatoes likely made with artichokes are their signature and incredible. Pricey but truly enjoyed the experience and will return. read more

Food (3/5): Came with a large group. We ordered a bunch of appetizers including calamari, caprese salad, and prosciutto and cheese plate. The appetizers overall was reasonably good although nothing stood out in particular. I ordered the Delmonico Steak and a small bowl of linguine pasta with meatballs. The meatballs in the pasta was unfortunately too hard and a bit overcooked. The sauce and noodles were nice though. The Delmonico steak which I got medium was nicely marbled but it was quite chewy in some parts. I liked the large portion for the steak. Oddly it came onion rings which weren't so good but the overall steak was good. Service (5/5): Very upscale service with friendly and helpful servers. The servers attentively took out orders, made recommendations, and checked up on us. They frequently refilled water and efficiently took our order. Ambiance (5/5): There is a beautiful interior giving an upscale atmosphere. There are nice paintings hung on the wall and beautiful lights. The restaurant was overall clean. Some of the tables in the center seemed too closely packed but overall the restaurant was nice. read more

We were here for a pharmacy dinner last night. The venue itself is ok, but the food was disappointing. We had a party of about 100 people in one of the private rooms. The food was served buffet style instead of family style at each table. There was also only 3 items, a pasta dish, chicken marsala, and a salad. Dessert options were better with cakes and coffee. I'm not sure how our organization paid per head for the event, but I'm hoping it was significantly less than other venues we've been at for the amount and quality of food we got. read more

I was a bit on the fence of 3 or 4 stars for this one. The space itself was very quaint and perfect for what we needed. We had a large family dinner and the space fit us perfectly. The noise level was perfect - not too loud so we were able to talk and have a conversation. Service was also very good. They made sure to refill our wine glasses frequently and the server was great with answering questions about the menu. I have to say the food was just okay. Started with the baked clams and calamari, which was a good meal both good. Then I had the ravioli special for dinner. I did not realize it came with a mushroom sauce (waiter never told us this), and if I knew then I would not have gotten it. I wasn't thrilled with the pasta choices, but the rest of my family seemed to enjoy their meals. I would say in a pinch for a large group over the holidays, this is a good option. If you are looking for good, authentic NYC Italian and you have options, I would say this wouldn't be my first pick. read more

4.5 stars. Casually elegant, very warm and friendly service, delicious food. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Arno. Menu is extensive enough that we each struggled to decide on an entreé. Service hit the perfect sweet spot where it's brisk but never felt rushed. Our server helped me choose between the red snapper and the veal - and while I'm sure the snapper is delicious ... trust me, try the veal! I opted for the scaloppine alla cardinale, and it was mouth-watering - tender and decadently flavored. And the bresaola is a perfect appetizer. Note that vegetable sides are ordered separately (both of our entrees came with a small order of roasted potatoes, which was all we needed). If we'd skipped the appetizer, a side would have rounded out the meal nicely. Strongly recommended. read more

I had the limone chicken and it was dry, eggplant parmigiana was dry with little sauce, for $20 they took one square of mozzarella and cut it into 4 pieces, the baked clams tasted like they were out of a box and the shrimp also tasted like they were out of a box. We left and went to a pizzeria because we were still hungry. I had such high hopes for this place but it was horrible and the staff rushed us from start to finish. Came here for an event and had a private room downstairs so it was hard to get a sense of the atmosphere. As apps, we had the meatballs, creamy truffle tortellini, bruschetta which all were good. Especially the tortellini. For app, the mixed salad was good. My salmon was fine and cooked to my preference. It only came with a side of mash which I found to be underwhelming. A colleague next to me had a shellfish allergy and ordered the chicken dish. Immediately, she could tell there was cross contamination as she had a bit of a reaction. Not terrible where she felt sick but enough to know she couldn't continue eating it. They took our coffee and tea order way before the dessert arrived. But it didn't come until after dessert was served (majority of us had already finished the dessert as they were serving it). The one thing that did urk me was seeing the dead cockroach just outside the ladies room but I guess it's better out there than in my food. read more

I was quickly greeted and the hostess asked someone who I think was the owner to store my luggage, which was nice and very helpful. I hate rolling my luggage into a restaurant, but sometimes, that's just how it is. I ordered the tortellini bolognese after having some of their nice house bread. The bolognese came out much faster than expected, which was great because I was on a time crunch. It was pretty flavorful, and I paired it with two glasses of Chianti. From an ambience perspective, I appreciated that all the staff were dressed nicely in suits and professional attire. We ended up here for dinner after catching a matinee. The four of us were treated like royalty from the minute we sat down. The servers were great and very attentive, and the waiter knew the menu inside and out. The restaurant itself is beautiful too, with a large welcoming bar. The food was really good (whatever that veal special was... incredible!), but the portions were a little smaller than what I was expecting. Also the menu itself is somewhat limited, but we sampled a few different items and every single one of them was delicious. As one of the lesser-known Italian restaurants in the Times Square area, it's worth a visit for sure. read more

All fish and meat dishes did not come with any color, there was no green, orange or red from vegetable garnish, everything came with a little portion of mash patato. My main dish Shrimp with tomato sauce was just OK, one of the shrimps had a funky bad seafood taste, it came with a small portion of mash patato, ehcih was odd, woud be better if it came with a small portion of Linguini. I ordered a Sauteed broccoli side for $15.50, it didn't look like anything. (there was 10-12 pieces of broccoli with some garlic pieces on a plate. The service was OK, not necessary warm, but we got what we needed. The ambiance is as expected. All in all, I think the quality and selection of food has gone down a lot. it's a great location in the fashion district, it would be great if they can improv the food and service. read more
