4 stars - Good One of the things that I love about NYC is the ability to go to restaurants that have been in business for over 75 years. And it is even better when a restaurant, like Patsy's, is family-owned. I had a good experience at Patsy's. The restaurant was clean, the staff were nice, and the food was good. I would go here again if I am ever back in NYC.

Stopped in hoping to grab dinner but was completely booked. Then the manager came over and said I can get you in. WOW! We started with manhattans. These went down so smooth. We had the clams oreganata! I can't describe how good these were. My husband ordered the chicken piccata. This chicken was amazing the flavors, and it was fork tender. I ordered the linguine with clam sauce. It just melts in your mouth. Our waiter, forgive me, but I do not remember his name. He was a really wonderful guy. He made these Texans feel very welcome. The manager as well. we will always come back when we visit New York. This time, we'll make a reservation. When you walk in, you know these walls have great stories to tell.

You sit in here and you just FEEL the Rat Pack energy lingering in the walls. Good thing, too, because Old Blue Eyes, himself, ate here all the time. And the space still looks like it, as if Sinatra just had slipped out before you arrived. This is NYC Italian food that you're meant to relax. and. enjoy. Start by dragging a hunk of warm, fresh bread through some fresh olive oil while you sip a cocktail. The calamari breading is flaky, and the rings are tender. Portioned to share. And the red sauce?! Oh my goodness--you'll want it on more than just the pasta. They're not just selling excellent food here. You also get the feeling like you've been invited to Sunday dinner with your Big Fat Adopted Italian relatives. You're family, and they're letting you taste all the family secrets. Save room for dessert, if for no other reason than watching your waiter wheel in the giant rickety dessert cart and demo the sweets is entertainment all to its own. Thanks for a dinner I'll never forget. Patsy's, I'll be back!

I've been going to Patsy's for over 10 years. I live in Fl. & travel to NY at least once per year. I've also traveled to Italy several times which makes me appreciate excellent Italian food. Patsy's food is delicious & authentic. Large portions & the presentation is always impressive. I was there last week & tried the appetizer egg plant rollatine. Everyone at our table was blown away. More of what makes Patsy's so special is the history and stories that have been passed down for generations in this family owned restaurant. The staff is very professional & I'm always impressed by seeing the same staff year after year. My husband & I are looking forward to going back soon.

The minute you walk in Sal welcomes you with an amazing smile and open arms. You feel like you are having an amazing Italian dinner with family. We come every year for Christmas dinner with all of our loved ones and try to sneak in in the middle of the year just to taste their amazing entrees. Three generations of amazing recepies and service. Frank Sinatras Favorit. Patsy's is a wonderful place to have a family dinner, dinner before your show, business and of course a romantic quiet dinner. Please go visit the for the food, atmosphere and history to share back home to your loved ones. Please be sure to take with you an autograph recipe book from Sal. You won't regret it. their priceless are great and the food is even better. Great place to be. Myrna & Jim Tupy North Carolina

I've stewed on this review for some time. I keep going back to my notes looking for an error, some glimpse that maybe on my visits, I was off kilter. And while there is an issue on our last visit that would probably make me give this rating, I wanted to exclude that from my decision. Why so much critique on my review? Simply put, my mother in law (who is Italian), swears by this place. She has come here for years as has my wife and says it's one of the best (my mother in law not my wife). So before I shared this about somewhere so beloved to her, I wanted to be sure, without a doubt, that this is truly how I feel. To me the service is fine, nothing special, a little stuffy, but not bad. We get what we order and eat it. Every time we never say much because my mother in law is with us and she raves about it (this is when I think...is it only me?). Our last visit (and will be the last) we went without her. The service...the same, the ambiance...the same, the food....exactly the same. I can look past the stuffy (and sometimes arrogant) service, I can look past the brightly lit dining room, but the food just is not good. It is flavorless, almost to the point that I question if there is any salt in the kitchen. I think the crowning moment the last visit was when I was hoping to specifically try the lasagna (which I've heard was good). Our server came over and asked about wine, we ordered a bottle and then he came back and said "are you ready to order". We did and our food came as it always does. The problem (and I'm sure some will say this is my fault), is that when we got to the end of our meal, and I started listening to the servers at other tables, they kept saying "tonight our special is the lasagna". When I heard that I asked one of the servers about it and said "I wish I would've known about it, I would've ordered it"; I was strongly considering getting one to go just to check it out. But the response of "I guess you weren't important enough to know about it" turned me off. We paid, left and will never look back after this. Oh yeah, and my wife finally fessed up after this last time and said she didn't know why I kept wanting to come back, they were never good. She thought I liked it, I thought she liked it, neither of us did. In one of the best restaurant cities in the world, I can't figure out how they survive with this food...although the prices are certainly in line for NYC.

Lasagna special, perfect on a cold winter night! Hot, homemade, with a glass of red, perfection.

Patsys never disappoints and has been top-notch for decades. On a very cold December night we enjoyed the lasagna special which Chef Sal makes himself and an order of stuffed zucchini blossoms that were perfection. A bottle of Malbec to wash it all down followers by homemade desserts. Patsys has the history as we all know but it is, still, an outstanding Neapolitan red-sauce restaurant where you are treated like home. Dont miss it.

What a great place to go for dinner. The food is amazing and ample portions. The staff, commendable and a very professional. I'd like the fact that there's an upstairs. Definitely get the shrimp scampi. It is the best I've ever had.

    Excellent time at Patsy's

Had an excellent meal and an overall great experience. Very authentic, fun atmosphere with amazing staff that were all so nice. Chef Sal visited with us and couldn't have been nicer. Antoine our waiter was excellent.

A total tourist trap with average blend food on par with Oliver's Garden. No wonder there were only three tables with guests in the whole restaurant. The portion is huge though

This STICKS OUT. It is French, it offers a sunlit outdoor patio and rests on New York cobblestone. Only the finest. We ordered their 30 dollar happy hour wine selection (their choice of white, rose or red). We went for rose as it was only approaching cocktail hour. Ended up spending $60, do your own math! As for food, this was where I had a blonde moment. The French wordings of cheese or meat was simply something I haven't even seen in France. So what to do? Tell our server we love rich goudas, goat cheeses and manchego's; but stray from any blue cheese family member or associate. He brought an array of an assortment! I do not recall the names of their cheese, two we liked one we did not appreciate. The unappreciated cheese was a reminder to my deep hatred for blue cheese and utter regret for even bringing it up to our server. TOO MUCH BREAD. Not because I am a model, but because I believe in proportion sizings, especially when it comes to the delicacies within the cheese world I aspire to be apart of. NO MORE BREAD PLEASE, I begged as I calm and swiftly maneuvered the slices into my concerned and judged mouth. We also enjoyed the escargot, 10/10. Get the escargot and wine babes xxx

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. I'll definitely be back for happy hour or dinner with friends!

Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. The prices are definitely a little inflated but for some reason I feel like the prices at most Flatiron places of this caliber are set similarly so I suppose it is ~locally~ normative. In any case, it fits the vibe of the area well and it is suitable for pretty much any occasion so it's versatile too. We came here at 8:15 as a party of four on a Saturday night. Though it wasn't too hard to get a reservation, the place was completely full. That said, it's a relatively big space so they have plenty of tables to accommodate parties of many different sizes. The decor is fresh and refined, lots of greenery which is the move these days. Though it's a white tablecloth situation the vibe is not pretentious or buttoned up, it's lively and fun just in a sophisticated way. Cocktails and wine options aplenty here, with quite a few cocktail options featuring Greek/Mediterranean ingredients (mastiha, I'm looking at you) which I very much appreciated. A few folks started with the "I Speak For The Trees" (Spring 44 Vodka, Cucumber, Mastiha) cocktail and in doing so tried mastiha for the first time. I, not surprisingly, had to try the martini, which is the Fantasy Is A Necessary Ingredient (Dill Vodka, Sardinian Vermouth, Olive Oil). Despite not being a vodka person, vodka in dirty martinis is the one exception I will make from time to time, especially when there is a fun infusion that elevates the drink. I was extremely happy that, after ordering it, our server asked if I wanted it with a regular olive or feta-stuffed olive, as if there is really any deliberation that needs to happen there (read: feta-stuffed olives are a no-brainer). For the rest of the night I just got dirty martinis or espresso martinis which are both particularly excellent here. My partner tried the La Osa Albarino (Val do Salnes, Rias Biaxas, Spain) with our entrees which I also enjoyed. Food-wise, we got to sample a decent portion of the menu being a party of four, though we didn't order any of the bigger entrees (mostly because we could not justify the price). Everything was great and the only reason this isn't five stars is just because I reserve that for experiences where things are mind-blowing/super memorable and as they say, it is called the Hall of Fame not the Hall of the Very Good. In any case, it's hard to pick out a favorite dish because we really enjoyed everything, but that is a good sign for the rest of the menu should you want to order something we didn't try. Everything was an A or A+ in this meal so I'll skip the letter grades for this review. Eats, below: Norwegian Yellowtail Tartare w/ Ezme, Borage, Sumac Light, delicate, relatively straightforward as far as tartares go but the ezme adds a nice touch that's a nod to the Mediterranean. Gem Lettuce Salad w/ Dill, Scallion, Cucumber, Sesame-Anchovy Vinaigrette Super fresh and delicious, perhaps a little Caesar-esque but with far more intrigue. Sugar Kiss Melon w/ Stracciatella Di Buffala, Spicy Coppa, 25 Year Balsamic We actually decided to nix this at the last second when we realized we may have ordered a bit too much food but our lovely server brought it anyway (she really made the night for us). This could even be a dessert-type dish if you'd like, but certainly works among the savory courses too. Charred Spanish Octopus w/ Potato, Mint, Aged Sherry The octopus was beautifully cooked and presented, seasoned well, no notes on that. The potatoes were decent but less exciting than the rest of the dish imo. Roasted Dorade w/ Tamarind Glaze, Pomegranate, Jalapeño, Herb Salad Absolutely loved this dish. According to our server, it's on the opposite end of the spectrum from the branzino, which is a cleaner, simpler preparation (and the whole fish), while this is a total flavor bomb. While I do love branzino, I'm glad we opted for this at less than half of the price. And I'm pretty sure the last time the four us went out for dinner we ordered a full fish and I'm pretty sure it was branzino so here's to shaking things up. Rocky Mountain Lamb Chops w/ Black Garlic, Ras El Hanout, Mint Chermoula Despite not usually being a red meat person I really loved these. Incredibly juicy and flavorful, making a strong case for being priced as high as they are. Honey Spiced Carrots Don't sleep on sides! Often an afterthought but they deserve a seat at the table, and these were good evidence of this.
