Made a reservation here for a Friday night for dinner and had a great time!!! The restaurant is huge, and there's a really nice bar as well. Our server was awesome and funny, and she even gave us a free cocktail that the bartender mistakenly made. The decor is lovely as well. There's a bathroom on the ground level and more down a set of stairs. The food was delicious. For our party of four, we ordered: - Pizza Bianca (basically foccacia) - 3/5, not a dish I would order again since it didn't really do anything for me. I like my focaccia fluffier - Side of Roasted Asparagus (Asparagi) - 5/5, perfectly salted. Ate so much of this. - Side of Broccoli Rabe (Cime di Rapa) - 4/5, it was fine but I def preferred the asparagus. - Chitarra ai gamberi e limone - 5/5, soooo good. So simple but delicious. - Tiramisu - 5/5, also delicious and cute it comes in like a coffee cup. It was also cute that the restaurant staff put a candle in it and sang to our friend for her birthday. I also requested a mocktail, and the bartender made a delicious cucumber spritz. We ended up at Ginger by happenstance -- my children were closerthanthis to having a meltdown and it was the closest place with good reviews, open tables, and air conditioning. Based in Italy, this restaurant is their only US outpost. The restaurant is filled with lots of sunny nooks, perfect for a long workday lunch or chatting with friends for happy hour. The menu had a nice selection of handcrafted pastas, pizzas, fresh fruit smoothies, salads, and more. My husband's botticella salad topped with cured salmon, citrus, pistachios, and more was delightful. I went for something slightly more carby -- the cacio e pepe with truffle sauce over housemade spaghetti and I did not regret it one bit. My children ate buttered pasta and freshly baked foccaccia (more thin and crispy than expected but still lovely). I reunited with my friend for happy hour dinner which ends at 9pm. Ambiance was nice. We sat at the bar and ordered fried calamari and a Spritz. Both items hit the spot. We also ended up ordering dinner. I ordered the black truffle pasta which hit the spot after consuming two different spritzes. My friend got the salmon, unfortunately she did not like her dish and exchanged it for a shrimp salad. To end the night I ordered a tiramisu. Service was great but when we got our check I personally felt tested when I saw the price of my cocktails. Both spritzes were initially priced a regular non-happy hour prices so that was resolved prior to payment. Verify that the check was correct because the system is not perfect. What a refreshing new gem in the theater district! Ginger comes to NYC from Rome offering seasonal, healthy, Italian eats. We went for Christmas Eve dinner, following the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City - so close and convenient! The large open space is light and bright, but they dimmed the lights setting the tone, and they were staffed up and ready for the night. They offered their regular menu, which I appreciated, not a forced prixe fixe. Here's what we ordered and LOVED: -Insalata Paolina: mozzarella di bufala, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, cucumber, pickled red onion, organic mixed salad, balsamic *generous and shareable portion, fresh veggies, delicious mozzarella -Spaghettoni cacio e tartufo: homemade fresh pasta, cacio e pepe sauce, black truffle *divine; generous portion but lighter and fresh; not as heavy as a creamier cacio e pepe at most Italian American restaurants. GET THIS! -Chitarra ai gamberi e limone: homemade fresh pasta, shrimp, Ferrarini butter, meyer lemon *light and fresh and with a nice lemon zing. Our Moms loved this. -Tortelli di guancia: homemade tortelli filled with beef cheek, toasted almonds, Parmigiano fondue *portion appeared small but it was satisfying and packed with flavor. My guy raved about it! -bread *it's a thin pizza crust with seasonings on it, but no toppings. Don't miss this! Makes me want to order a pizza next time! Our drinks included wine and spritzes! And we enjoyed their chocolate dessert. Gluten-free pasta is available upon request. They're open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Such a nice experience for dinner tonight! They've only been open for about 6 months. Came with my parents and family friends visiting from out of town. We shared the Nerano pizza and the broccoli rabe. Entree wise, I had the salmon which I loved. It comes with mango which I really enjoyed. The others had the bolognese, shrimp pasta, and I believe rigatoni and maybe one more item. For dessert, we had cookies, basically biscotti, and the sweet wine. The food was so good. Drinks were just okay. The restaurant is light and spacious. It wasn't too loud when we were there starting at 6:30pm on a Tuesday. The staff is very kind. Our waitress Kai was very sweet and so was the manager, Carolina. They don't rush you at all. We came in with a reservation, however thanks to traffic we were an hour late. However, the hostess was super sweet and allowed us in with no problem. She was super welcoming! We had an amazing waitress named Kai, this girl was on point and very attentive and friendly. Our food was so good!!! I had the TAGLIATA DI MANZO& ASPARAGI, which were both season to perfection. My husband had the PIZZA BARESE, which brought him back to his travels in Europe. The place is beautiful inside, kudos to the interior designer. Very mixed experience. I want to be clear in saying the food itself was very good! The staff were accommodating and helpful. The menu is unique and I like that it's from Rome! My issues were this: bathroom stall was out of toilet paper, my salad didn't have the goat cheese it was supposed to have (I had to ask for it), and the biggest ooops was being overcharged! My mom and I were in a rush so I didn't have time to deal with it but we were charged for a pizza instead of the bread we actually ordered. It was not a huge difference in price but considering my mom tipped 25% I would hope attention to small details like these would not be overlooked. Again the food itself was good. My salad was incredible. Simple but so well balanced. And even though it costs extra, get the bread. It's worth it. The ingredients taste so fresh. My salad had fresh avocado that was perfectly ripe and fair in portion size. The salad itself was big but not too big. I would come back but would hope for a better experience. read more

Friend and I had dinner here. I got there a little early for a 6pm reservation. Sat at the bar for well-priced happy hour, great cocktails and wine with small bites. For dinner had ravioli with pesto, delicious, fresh and good portion. Friend had margherita pizza, was enough for him to take half home and a large salad that we shared. All was very fresh with great ingredients. Apparently this is related to two restaurants in Rome, and it shows. Nice airy space, casual, service was very attentive and friendly at the bar and the table. Great location in midtown near the theater district. The most expensive non meal ever. We told the waitress that we couldn't wait long because we had a play to catch and needed to leave no later than 6:45. We ordered the cheese platter for appetizer and pizza dinner.; we were served a meat platter because the chef got it wrong. The cheese platter was $19, the meat platter $38. The manager said we could keep the platter since were in a rush. At 6;40, our pizza (which was ordered at 5:50) was still not ready. We had to leave and the 2 others with us said they would take the pizza. When they got the bill, the meat platter was billed. Their sodas were $7.00 each. The service was abysmal, despite having many servers there. Would never go back and do not recommend. BTW, the meat platter consisted of a bunch of meat and about 4 small slices of cheese. read more

This Italian eatery was delightful! Went here for a pre-theatre dinner. We made a reservation through Yelp and we're seated quickly. It was after dark and the space had low lighting, so that's something to be aware of, but I'm sure it's lovely in the daytime with the big windows. We were a party of two. We split an appetizer salad with beets and a pizza. The pizza was huge - definitely shareable. They have some nice specialty cocktails too, and they weren't unreasonable. We also ordered the bread based on Yelp recommendations (SO good - it's their pizza dough with herbs and oil and vinegar to dip). Only complaint was the price of the bread side. It was charged as a pizza bianca on out bill - the same price as the actual pizza we ordered. It was a full pizza's worth of slices but still - phew! It was quite the surprise. We didn't question it at the time (though maybe we should have). Just a forewarning to future guests - it's good, but pricey. Prices for everything else were very reasonable. read more
