I ordered an Atomic Bomb breakfast burrito for takeout from Aroma Bistro in Old Wethersfield before an all day meeting. It was ready when I arrived and still hot. The burrito was large and suitable for sharing. It had grilled egg, Irish bangers, home fries, sautéed onions and peppers and a special sauce. It was good and I'd order it again. The onions and peppers were cooked, but not overly so and that provided a nice contrasting texture. I would have a preferred if the yolk was a bit less cooked and the potatoes were more cooked and seasoned, but the burrito was still good. I didn't eat there, but Aroma had a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas. I'll definitely be back to try other things.

This is a great little local café in old Wethersfield. The prices are inexpensive. There is dine in seats and also some outdoor seats. My friend had a bagel with lox and I had a full egg breakfast with hash potatoes and mushrooms and spinach. They also make burgers on some nights. Very affordable. I would definitely come back.

Small cafe with a wide menu of breakfast and lunch foods. I came with my parents on a weekend for breakfast and the place was packed I got a breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte and both were phenomenal. It took a long time to get our food though. I'd recommend looking up the menu and ordering in advance Have a solid drink menu as well Both indoor and outdoor seating. The place itself is very basic. There is nothing special about the decor. 8.5

Breakfast all day! Cute little breakfast & lunch shop in the heart of Old Wethersfield. Friendly welcoming staff. Plenty of outside dining for warm weather. Several 2 top tables inside along with 1 four top. And two comfy chairs at the front. Plenty of breakfast sandwiches, Burritos and Platters to choose from. And I hear they have Great Burgers for lunch along with many sandwiches and a few salads We had a late breakfast my littlest had an overeasy edd with white toast and my older child had a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese. I opted for the Pot of Gold sandwich on an everything bagel topped with cheddar cheese, Irish banners & grilled onions. Very filling and tasty. We also got a side of homefries as my older one stated delicious but needs to be spiced up like yours Mommy. These seemed to be just simply seasonal with salt and pepper. What took me so long to stop in here. Can't wait to come back and try the burgers!

Aroma after dark is a must try. The burgers are delicious and if they have the meatball special it's definitely a must try. With a friendly smiling staff you can't go wrong with Aroma.

I took out a couple of XL Buritos from here for breakfast. They were large and extremely filling. I even had to skip lunch, and have a light dinner. Big daddy was my favorite burrito. Holy cow burrito was good as well.

Cute cafe in old Wethersfield, CT. It's not a big place but it is located where there is a decent amount of parking. I got the ACME Crew Burrito. It had 2 eggs, home fries aroma sauce, American cheese, applewood bacon and sautéed peppers. I was served fast and politely. I was a little disappointed in it. I think the sauce was a little overwhelming. It seemed ketchup based which I'm not a fan of with my breakfast. My bacon was also undercooked. I don't need it crispy but not rubbery. The home fries were ok. If I return I'll be leaning towards the eggwhiches to try and maybe a fresh muffin. They do serve breakfast and lunch from 12-2pm. Staff wear mask.

One year later and I'm ashamed we haven't been here more!! We live so close to OW but typically only visit with a purpose -- that purpose needs to be bagel sandwiches from Aroma Bistro more often!!

Luckily I was able to find parking and there was a line waiting to go into Ken's corner. I didn't mind the wait since I really wanted to eat here. I'm glad I did, it was moving, and they got people in and out of the restaurant . The workers are pleasant and very helpful when deciding what to order off the menu. As I mention it was my first time there, we ordered the coconut French toast and shared the surf & turf egg Benedict. Everything was worth the wait and tasted amazing. I'm already planning my next visit to try something else on the menu. Food came out presentable and hot. Glad I came here because it's prob one of the best breakfast spots in the area.

Kens is a small breakfast place in glastonbury, and there always seems to be a line out the door (for a good reason). Once inside tho, the waitresses and busboys are always super friendly. I love that the waitresses always stop by for a quick chat when they see you. The eggs benedict is super amazing here. Actually everything is but thats my fav. French toast super amazing too, especially when they have the egg nog French toast on special. They always have two flavored coffee options which i love. And the home fries are always well seasoned and crispy on the outside and oft in the middle. The only downside really to kens is the wait which sometimes goes out the door. They don't take reservations and they don't have a sign in, so it kinda sucks for someone like me with Rheumatoid arthritis because I cant stand for very long, so we cant go on the weekends. But we went twice during the week this week and the wait was very short. So if you want a great breakfast at a decent price, nice wait staff, and you're near glastonbury, Kens is a place to check out for sure!

Absolutely divine…read more It has been so long since I've been able to have a crab cake that's gluten free, but at The Charles, their crab cakes are gluten free and lovely. But first, walking into The Charles is a step back into time yet still fresh and intentional. Plenty to look at all around the restaurant. The layout of even the bar is nice with seats by the windows and plenty of TVs playing the games without being disruptive. The building is gorgeous, well kept, and I can see how this restaurant gets packed quickly! But back to the gluten free crab cake. I would have loved some slightly larger chunks of crab, it was the crispy texture on the outside and soft inside that made my heart melt. The cakes sat lightly on an aioli and beside some greens, and each bit was delectable and delicious. Lovely appetizer. I also have the octopus basquaise, and I loved it. The potatoes needed just a smidge more seasoning and were sitting in oil, but I cared not, because it was an oil with Kalamata olives and tart, and how lovely it all was together. The octopus was nicely cooked and tender and not greasy. The potatoes were a lovely vessel, and the aioli was not too overpowering. A delicious fish overall. The service was great, friendly, and you can tell they love their regulars. Everyone was on the move at all times and overall very efficient and kind. Tons of gluten free dishes naturally. I loved coming to The Charles and look forward to coming back later this week to try their actual dishes. But if the entrees are even close to as good as the appetizers, I'm sure it will all be delicious!

Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. When I arrived I was told it would be a 45 minute wait. Basically my reservation was useless. The 2 greeters made no attempt to address this whatsoever and didn't care at all. We decided to wait at the bar 2. The bar was not crowded with a couple of bartenders. We placed our order. The bartender looked like she didn't know what she was doing and greeted us with about as little enthusiasm and happiness as possible. (Maybe she was having a bad day). She didn't seem to know how to mix two drinks; a manhattan and a Negroni. She couldn't answer our question about what gin she had at the bar and just told us to ' look' as she pointed behind her. Then it took about 10 minutes for three drinks to arrive; the poorly made Negroni, a Coors light in the bottle (she never asked if I wanted a glass), the wrong glass of white wine that she had to redo with the correct one, then after 5 more minutes the manhattan arrived, also made poorly. She didn't charge us for that drink due to the delay saying she had to wait to get the vermouth. That's an odd excuse from a bartender. I've been a paid bartender, I know what to expect and she was just horrible. I'm sorry but that's a plain fact. If she worked for me I would have fired her on the spot and took over myself. 3. By this time, about 7:50, we were seated at an outside table. The crowd was dying down but our waitress was less than attentive and certainly not prompt. We have dietary allergies that she promptly noted but did nothing about as she said she would check wth the kitchen about of couple of possible choices we had interest in, but never came back to give us the answer. Now being quite impatient, we ordered anyway based on the menu description. One appetizer could not be eaten because of the allergy. We asked for the wine list, that never arrived, and it was 10 minutes until she came back to the table, but we ordered without it. The waitress seemed like she could care less about how we were doing or how she was performing her job. After dinner, ironically, the manager stopped by to ask how everything was, but we quickly said things were OK only because it would have taken too much time to make note of everything that had gone wrong. By now it was after 9 and my reservation was at 7. We had to leave. Suffice it to say, we won't be back. A sad overall experience indeed. I don't expect this restaurant and or management will be around for long as I have no reason to believe we were the only party to endure this horrible dining experience.

And if your wildest dreams happen to revolve around Italian comfort foods and well stacked sandwiches, well, do I have a place to make those wildest dreams come true for you! La Rosa is your quintessential Italian deli with dozens of grinders, paninis, wraps, salads, soups and a daily hot bar of pasta and chicken entrees. We ordered a grilled Panino Melenzani ($12) with eggplant, tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and olive oil. It was grilled right in front of our eyes, so it was as fresh as could be. It had plenty of tender sliced eggplant, yummy cheese and fresh tomatoes. I went with my usual, an Italian Combo (half size for $14) stacked a mile high with Ham, Turkey, Genoa, Mortadella, Capicola, and Provolone with lettuce, tomato, onions, and peppers on a fresh loaf of Italian bread. It was superb, and the portion size was so generous that it lasted me for three lunches. As we were paying, we spied some home-made cookies by the register and grabbed an oatmeal and a chocolate chip to take home. Everything ran $32 for a ton of wonderful Italian goodness. We didn't get a chance to check out the hot bar. It wasn't open today because LaRosa's Marketplace was closing early for personal reasons. But I promise you, the next time we visit we'll leave with one of their chicken or pasta entrees. We love our Italian delis, and LaRosa's has immediately shot up into our top tier.
