Don't let the exterior of this adorable little shop fool you. All is not what it appears to be. Like my favorite breakfast sandwhich the "pot of gold" can speak for the hidden gem this place is. I value quality fresh ingredient but specially with my breakfast because your first meal of the day can make or break how your day goes. As much as a piece of my heart belongs to starbucks for its fresh brew no frozen breakfast patty will compare to the fresh sausage egg n'cheese sandwhich at Aroma, and it has to be said that the caramel latte is no joke here either. :) The interior is small but inviting with its glass Ikea tables and chairs. It's a great place to sit outside and enjoy a meal while watching the neighborhood going ons... and don't forget it's BYOB! Although I would recommend you save that for a dinner date... While we have had an enjoyable dinner here I think the real magic in this place is in their breakfast. They seem to consistently have a steady stream of dedicated breakfast customers on a week day and weekend alike. I recently visited Aroma Bistro on a Sunday...the day they only serve breakfast. Let me preface, I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I went there for a steak sandwich, NOT an omelet. When the cashier noticed my deep level of disappointment at the breakfast only policy, she and another employee came together and made me an amazing steak sandwich with a salad! We are in Glastonbury and it is always worth the short jaunt over the Bridge to have a breakfast at Aroma. Great service and fresh, delicious fare. This morning my husband and I enjoyed our custom egg white omelets (delivered to the table by the owner), with always a personal touch to deliver the best customer experience. I was out in Wethersfield for a wedding this weekend, and we had some time to kill (and future liquor to soak up) so we decided to pop in here for a quick deli lunch. I ordered a grilled roast beef sandwich with a horseradish mayo spread and an Asian slaw salad. The food was delicious (worth ordering again), but the service was impossibly slow. I forgive them a few minutes since I'd ordered a grilled sandwich, but it took between 15 and 20 minutes for my sandwich and the sandwiches for the two others in my party to come out. Got a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Sandwich was made fresh and perfect. Coffee had a weird bitter taste (similar to Starbucks), but was fresh as well. Counter person was very friendly and service was fast. Cafe has a few bistro tables outside, a row of counter ht street-view window seats, a small area for a medium size gathering (think about 8-12 people), and a narrow area with few 2-person tables. Found this place on a road trip, SO glad we stopped in. Really, really good food. Staff is super friendly and proud of their place. As they should be. Hometown feel! Wide selection of baked goods. Good for breakfast or lunch. My boyfriend and I stopped by Aroma Bistro for the first time this weekend based off of other reviews. We were happy to see the selection of bagel sandwiches available, and ended up ordering some ourselves. They were great and cheap too! The interior of the place is a little small, especially given how busy it was on a Saturday morning, but this added to its small town charm. Customers were a true mix of young and old, and everyone seemed to know at least one other person there, or at least have a smile on their face! Some small downsides here - the coffee was a little weak. Also, we treated ourselves to an apple turnover and a butter crumb cake, which were a little disappointing. The food here is fantastic! The service however is mediocre. The people behind the counter don't seem happy to be there at all and it's super noticeable. The wait time is decently short, but I think it's just the right amount of time for good quality food. I wasn't super impressed with their iced coffee but their regular hot coffee is great. The parking is difficult on a busy morning but that's expected. I would still recommend this place to a friend despite its minor flaws. read more

A deliciously disappointing case of great food with lackluster service. Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible. The bacon and eggs are REAL! None of that frozen garbage. Their bagels are house made, and also very tasty, but go early or chances are they'll be out of your first choice. Service has always been sub par, and this morning was no different. I was not greeted when I walked in. I stood at the counter waiting for my order to be taken, and the girl behind the counter completely ignored me while she continued her tasks. She finally took my order without saying more than 5 words. I'm not sure if I should be impressed by that or insulted, but it came off as rude and as though she did not want to be at work. Our first time here this morning and we weren't disappointed. I only wish we knew about this place sooner! I heard about Aroma via a neighborhood group where people were looking for decent bagels. I guess their bagels are brought in fresh from a bagel spot in Simsbury. I'm from Long Island so I am very picky on my bagels. Although they weren't QUITE Long Island level, for CT it was a solid bagel and I would happily eat one again. It's nice to know where I can pick up a decent bagel, but the real star of the show were the breakfast burritos! My wife got the Popeye sandwich that she had them make on a wrap and I got the Acme burrito, hold the peppers. The breakfast burritos were delicious and super filling. Sadly we are moving out of state in a few weeks but I have a feeling we will drop in for breakfast before we leave. read more

I had passed by this restaurant multiple times and never thought anything of it until a friend said it was good. We finally decided to try it and let me tell you, delicious! We go for breakfast all the time, the food is fresh and made to order and delicious! I have tried a few of the breakfast sandwiches but I keep going back to the VIP Club, with sausage instead of bacon, it's so good! My husband and I split the home fries (a small is enough for the two of us) The staff is friendly and is more than accommodating if you want to make substitutions to your order. They bring your food to you fairly quickly. It is very small so don't be surprised if there's a wait or you can't get a table (especially in the winter, there is outside seating in the warmer weather). Many get it to go too. My only complaint is the coffee, it's nothing to talk about. It's not terrible, I drink it, but I've had better elsewhere. We have been ordering take-out from various local restaurants since 'Stay Home, Stay Safe' has been in place. Aroma Bistro by far offered the best meal we have had to date. I had the apple harvest sandwich which was absolutely delicious and enough to share. My husband had the Sin City burger which was equally delicious. We have heard that the Po Boy was a 'do not miss' so we are planning on ordering that next weekend if it's offered. And how do they get their French fries so crispy? The whole meal was fantastic. Been going to Aroma Bistro for almost two years. The food is great. The menu is extensive and since I started going to Aroma, it has changed multiple times. You can choose from breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, and different combinations of those. I've had almost everything on the menu, but I would recommend the Texas Roadhouse panini or the Atom Bomb hungry man breakfast sandwich. The bagel chips add a unique crunch and come with most sandwiches. The cinnamon raisin ones are the best. The Asian coleslaw is a perfect complement as well, and isn't too strong. The bread selection is phenomenal. Sliced bread bores me, and Aroma has a lot of options, so make sure you switch it up when you go. And when you do go, get yourself a cookie afterwards. You won't be disappointed. Barely crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Aroma Bistro is nestled into Old Wethersfield in a fantastic open location. We were in the area and wanted a quick and hopefully fresh and healthy dinner. We had not been here before and looked at the chalkboard outside and decided to give this little restaurant a try. We were not disappointed! It's BYOB, we might bring something next time but we were happy that didn't prevent us from going in. My wife had a huge bacon avocado salad, she brought home what she couldn't eat. It was very good. I had the clam shack special clam roll. It was not a greasy hot dog roll stuffed with just clams - this was perfect clam strips on top of a fresh roll stuffed with fresh tomatoes, lettuce and interesting tartar sauce, I would get this again! The fries were seasoned nicely and were crunchy and perfect. Service was quick, it was a comfortable little place to eat. For what it is (a homey friendly comfortable low-key casual restaurant), it deserves our "5 stars". We told a friend we went here for the dusk menu and she said it's great for breakfasts and I believe it. We'll bring a bottle of wine or a beer next time and we'll go out of our way to come here. We do decorations for weddings at the Webb Barn so we are in Wethersfield a lot and I enjoy the town more and more every time we are here, this place is just another great reason to come to Wethersfield! read more
