Was in the neighborhood for work and wanted a good quick bite to eat and with the power of yelp, I was lead to this hidden gem. When I say hidden I do mean hidden because it's off the beaten path. Fortunately, it's easy to spot once you get here. I came right before the big lunch rush because right after I ordered it got a little busy. I ordered the breakfast burger which is a burger with lettuce, tomato, fried egg and bacon. With a side of fries. First thing I noticed was the burger is huge. Patty was a nice size and the toppings were ample and visible. The burger was good especially when you get all the ingredients in a bite. It made me wonder about the other burgers on the menu and piqued my curiosity to come back and try the other options. The fires were hot and crispy nothing fancy about them just your basic crinkle cut. A welcome addition but not a necessity. Would love to see them offer some sort of specialty fry. The restaurant is cozy with bar top seating and smaller tables very nice decor and it has a decent amount of space for stay for a quick bite. Based on my experience today, I'd be interested in returning to try the other burgers, omelets and I saw some nice quesadilla options as well. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem. Not easily spotted from the road, but the building is obvious once you pull in. Modern, clean interior, and my pickup order has always been ready on time. I have ordered both breakfast and lunch items from the menu and they have always been delicious. Everything seems to be cooked very consistent and uniform, and somehow has that extra edge that tastes just a little bit better than comparable food elsewhere. The only ding I'm giving it is the limited menu, but I guess that's how to focus on doing what they do well rather than overextending. Also it's closed on weekends. read more

I have only visited during lunch but it is the perfect spot to sit for a quick lunch or grab a meal on the go. Decent selection of sandwiches, burgers, and salads. The interior has around 10 tables and counters to sit but most people come in to order and pick up to-go orders. The staff are always very nice and welcoming. I have enjoyed the Chipotle Turkey sandwich, the buffalo chicken sandwich, the Rueben, and the buffalo chicken salad multiple times and have walked away satisfied. Now that I work in the area I hope to try more offerings on the menu, including breakfast. read more

Wow, breakfast was actually really good! I stop by here during the regional market in which they are open in the mornings. I grab either a sandwhich or a plate of breakfast. Last visit I had 2 eggs, bacon, homefries and toast. This meal was very well done and only for about $7.50. Eggs were fluffy and bright yellow, toast was not too buttery, bacon was crispy but not burnt and homefries were very good. I really liked the homefries from here. Not super heavy and flavor wasn't super boring either. This place is not fast food as stated on the plaque at the counter, so expect to wait about 15 or so minutes for your food when they're busy. During the market, they are very busy. They also have an Uber Eats option which was something I was not expecting from here. Well, I can't see myself coming here when I'm not already there for the market but I mean this location is cool. On the edge of the regional market in the middle of Hartford's version of no where. Great food for good prices. I just need to find more reason other than market to come here. Maybe I'll stop by for lunch one day to see what they can do. read more

What this place lacks in space, they make it up in the quality of their food. Place holds probably 20 people or less for sitdown eating but, looks as though take out is what most do. When you walk in, you'll see a big blackboard divided into five columns- one for breakfast, sandwiches, quesadillas, salads and burgers. Each column is filled with its respective menu selections, all written in colorful chalk. You order at the counter and give your name, which is eventually called so you can pick up your tray or to-go bag. I ate in yesterday, and the dining room was pretty crowded, as were some of the outdoor picnic tables. My name was called in 15 minutes, and I grabbed a stool by the front counter, My lunch was a very good Cobb Salad ($7.50) with super fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes, a sliced chicken breast, cucumber slices, a hard boiled egg, croutons, bacon sprinkles and croutons. This is a very cool place where you get solid food at a rock bottom price in a place without one milligram of pretension. Located near the old train tracks regional farmers market, you wouldn't expect a restaurant among all these commercial trucks. The hours here are limited, but please make a trip. You gave me cold over done bacon, I ate it all...the scrambled egg was folded and the color was odd....the home fries were tepid and charred, black and crumbled. The hot sauce in glass bottle is Franks.......maybe I should've gotten veggies omelette being at the market! I feel underwhelmed by breakfast and model of service....crispy bacon is still better than no bacon. 926 am visit and you can do better and all know it! I eat lunch or breakfast here at least once a week. The food is always delicious and they usually have an interesting special. I'm a big fan of their Taco Tuesday Specials, the Black Bean Burger, and their Fruit & Nut Grilled Chicken Salad. Everything is always fresh and delicious! The staff is always so kind and fun. Having passed by this place frequently, I finally made the decision to hang a left and stop in. The staff was great, my order was promptly and cheerfully taken; but, I will caution you, there was a slightly longer wait then I was prepared for. If you go, order in advance. I did notice a steady stream of customers that did just that; and, none of them experienced the wait upon arrival (this is a good sign, all around). I chose the buffalo chicken sandwich, with fries and a drink, which was priced right at eleven bucks. I was pleasantly surprised that I was served a real chicken breast, with a full coating of buffalo sauce, on a soft roll. I would have preferred the roll toasted; but, the sandwich was tasty enough that this was by no means a game changer. The crinkle cut fries were garden variety, tasty; but nothing special. All in all, this was a good alternative to the local fast food places (and a far better choice). If you're in the area, and you have the time, by all means, stop in. read more

Why does the kitchen staff not wear gloves? It's gross you can literally see them touching everyone's sandwiches and grabbing handfuls of fries with no gloves, packing to-go food with no gloves on and never washing their hands. Ever. Then going over and grabbing the phone, touching money, then back to packing to-go food. The wait for mediocre food is about 40 minutes even though they quote you 20-25. Decent, close to a major trucking hub, I-91 and the MDC this is a good location for a quick bite. They are very quick with getting orders out and the hamburgers and chicken cutlet are done very well. Wasn't a fan of the french fries but the onion rings were above average. Everything comes out hot because of how quick they whip it up. Not a huge space but I am told they rarely fill all the way up. Needed a quick bite on my lunch hour and decided to try The Market Restaurant. The industrial district it is in puzzled me at first but once I found the place I realized it is easy to get to and has tons of parking. Phoned in an order for "The Kitchen Sink" burger. Wow it was a tasty burger! As you can see from the photo this is not one of those "sloppy" burgers. The bun was slightly crisp from being toasted and was subtly sweet. Onion ring was thick, flavorful, and not greasy. Patty tasted fresh and was tender. Bacon thin and crisp. Lastly the jalapeño sauce was subtle in heat and flavor, allowing you to enjoy the rest of the burger's tasty qualities. If you are expecting some burn from this burger you will be disappointed. I ran into one of the employees from the Market when he was in the elevator at my job. He told me a bit about where he worked and my job always caters so i got his card. We catered from them a few months later and I had the vegetarian panini which was amazing. It had mushrooms, veggies, roasted peppers and a whole lot of other things. I went there last week for lunch but they had no vegetarian sandwich on the menu. That option is only available for catering. The only option was a cheese quesadilla. Unfortunately, I'm not in a middle school cafeteria so I'm not eating that. I ended up making up my own sandwich (mushrooms, roasted peppers, veggies, American & Swiss cheese along with an onion ring which I added to it). It wasn't a bad combination seeing as I was famished but I urged them to add it to their lunch menu and name it "the CHI" after me since I came up with it. Either way, its a great lunch spot and I encourage everyone to try it especially if you eat meat. However, more restaurants need to offer more to non-meat eaters. read more

I love The Market! I am an electrical contractor and work in the area a lot, so I try and eat here whenever I am near by. The burgers are amazing!!
