    Sushi Roll Menu
    Iris R.

My first visit to Aroma Korea was pretty good. I picked this restaurant after seeing reviews on Yelp. We were immediately greeted and led to a booth. It was nice that there was no wait on Friday evening. The menu here is full, and I mean full, of options. It took us at least 10 minutes to figure out what we wanted to order. We ordered Korean rice with shrimp and the surf & turf sushi. The Korean rice was ok. The Seasame oil was a bit overpowering for me. Adding soy sauce definitely cut the taste of the Seasame oil. Now, the surf & turf sushi is where it's at. We immediately wished we ordered two orders of the sushi. The sushi roll includes tempura shrimp, crab salad, and seared beef with a teriyaki sauce. The combination of flavors is sooooo good. I'm definitely going back to get the surf & turf roll again. The sushi is worth a visit to this place.

I've been here a couple times now and honestly, this place is pretty amazing. It's a great spot to just hangout dour friends and get your fix of Korean food. The stews here are delicious and well cooked. They have a great mix of Korean-American fare, including bulgogi fries. The staff here is very friendly and it really reminds you of Seoul. Definitely come by here to give this place a try.

Stopped at Aroma for a quick bite to eat. The interior of the restaurant was warm and inviting. About half the tables was full. Wait Staff was very friendly. Got our drink order right away. Plenty of Authentic Korean dishes I'll definitely be back for. For a starter I ordered the takoyaki. It was pretty good. The octopus was a little chewy. Could have been more tender. The sauce was yummy. Once I saw the sushi menu had hand rolls (hard to find for some reason) I was sold. I got three of my favorites. Eel and Avocado, Spicy Crab and Spicy salmon hand rolls. Absolutely delicious. Just what I wanted. I'll definitely be back! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Hidden spot with great parking! We went on Saturday evening and were seated right away. There's plenty of seating, booths and tables. We decided to just order appetizers as the entrees weren't appealing to us at the moment and we weren't very hungry. The Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps were absolutely delicious, I loved every bite. The Gyoza was pretty good. The salad would've been really good, but the ginger dressing was different than what we like. Oh and we got the Korean Fried Chicken, and it was very good, just such a small portion, I think there were 3 wings.

My family and I dined in on a Sunday evening right at opening time and the restaurant was nice and quiet. The waitresses were friendly and although the menu was available by QR code, they were happy to provide physical copies as well. We ordered a bunch of different sushi rolls to share. I found their sushi menu to be diverse and extensive, and the majority of the rolls sounded appetizing. The food took kind of a long time to come out though, especially considering we were the only diners at the time. The rolls themselves were super good! The fish and rice were fresh and the sauces were flavorful. I enjoyed every roll that we ordered and was impressed with the quality and taste of the food. If the service had been a bit faster this would be an easy 5/5 stars!

Writing another review for Aroma's lunch bento box. We ordered takeout this time and the food was still fresh and warm by the time we ate. I ordered the Bulgogi lunch bento -- it came with SO much food. The Bulgogi was tender and well seasoned, the California roll tasted very fresh, and the assortment of fried food was so tasty. Not pictured but included was a side salad. Service and quality of food is always fantastic at Aroma, highly recommend if you are looking for a new lunch spot or Korean food!

    Roach frass (poop) in sake

Previously thought this was some of the best sushi around but now can't eat it after finding roach poop at the bottom of my sake after already drinking most of it :( (I work with arthropods so am regrettably confident in identifying this correctly)

Great place if you want a quick Korean and sushi fix. Friendly service. I don't regret trying this place out. Missing pic is the Bimbimbap. Definitely had the flavor I was looking for.

***FOOD: Sushi was good. Not necessarily stellar. Fried Rice was good. ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$$ ***DÉCOR: I think this use to be a revolving sushi restaurant since there is a conveyor belt. Could use an update ***SERVICE: ok service. Waited a while for food. ***RECOMMEND: ok recommend if super hungry and happen to be in the area

Atmosphere: Aroma is a casual spot offering a variety of Asian dishes. It hasn't ever been super crowded when we've gone for dinner. Service: Our food has always come out relatively quickly! Food: We've tried the Bulgogi Fries and the Budae Jjigae. The Bulgogi Fries were a great starter, and the dish was sweet, salty, cheesy, and filling. The Budae Jjigae for the most part was pretty authentic. It was quite sharable among 4 people if eaten with another dish, though we wished they added more meat. We found it worthwhile to get an extra order of noodles to clean out our pot. Overall: We enjoy our experience at Aroma, and it is a great spot for a casual bite with friends. Some of the dishes are a bit pricey, but we would still recommend giving them a try.

First time checking out this Korean restaurant in Cary. We started off with the cheese corn and that was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend. For the main course we got the bibimbap with an egg. I'm vegetarian so got that one but they have others as well. It was pretty good and a decent size but I wish we had more gochujang sauce. Luckily our waitress was great and got extra. The dessert was definitely not worth it though. Felt like it was just from the frozen isle of a grocery store. The inside was pretty nice. Felt like a conveyor sushi restaurant remodeled. Felt homie as well. Our waitress was also great and was on top of it. Definitely pricey for the meal but overall I enjoyed it! Would come back for the corn and bibimbap! Would love to see more vegetarian options in the future as well.

I have lived in this area for over 2 years and NEVER noticed this location until tonight! What a shame *inserts annoyed face* They are located somewhat in the cut, if you aren't paying attention - you will definitely miss it. Once you find it, you have found a truly hidden gem. I did a call in order, the service was kind and helpful. She explained what was in the rolls and provided if any changes would be additional (and what the additional cost would be). When I arrived, the parking lot needs some more lighting. It was very dark - a little concerning, however, I know they don't own the property so not something THEY can control. For this restaurant, masks are required to enter. Keep that in mind (if that is a concern for you). My food wasn't quite ready, but the staff member promptly gave me an update once greeted and informed of who I was. From what I could see from the front, it looked clean and well taken care of. Small dining room with a max occupancy of around 67 people (looking at the sign). All in all it was about 15 mins from the call in to getting my sushi. I would return to see about dining in. The food, I ordered pretty basic: California roll - added cream cheese Dancing Eel roll - added cream cheese Nothing was done wrong. They gave you a good filling to rice ratio. I didn't feel cheated or as if I just had a big roll of rice. The difference between the two rolls: The Dancing Eel roll - has COOKED Eel on top with avocado and sauce. As well, it had like a crab salad instead of a crab stick in the filing. The California roll - has a crab stick and avocado. Overall, good stuff! I will definitely be back for more. Tip: I like to heat my sushi the next day for about 30 seconds. There is something about the cheese warming up and mixing it with wasbi - yum!

I came here when I was visiting my in laws, so naturally, I wanted to expose them to KBBQ. Unfortunately, I picked this place because a lot of reviews said its the best and allat, when in truth, this place is one of the worst KBBQ I have ever visited. Not only they stopped serving lettuce wrap (sure, they have it in the menu but they didn't stock it because their lettuce supplier increased the price or whatever), they did not offer any other wrap options like a decent kbbq should have (rice wrap, radish wrap, or shisho leave...etc). The meat quality? It's the cheapest cut you could ever get. The kalbi cut is so thin and tasted old (spoiler alert, they should be thicker and higher quality..), the other unseasoned meat cut is lower quality too. The seasoned meat were so bad I had hard time enjoying it. The bulgogi did not taste like a propee bulgogi and once again, tasted old like it has been in the fridge for too long. The spicy bulgogi was so grainy and not spicy at all, almost like they're using low quality gochugaru. Honestly, you will be much better off buying your own ingredients at h-mart or any asian grocery than going to this place. The only saving grace was the kind server who tends us often. 10/10 will not recommend.

Grabbed lunch from here recently and enjoyed myself!…read more The staff were polite and helpful throughout the meal. My wife and I ended up splitting the kimchi pancake as an appetizer, and we both got the beef bibimbap for our entrees. We didn't end up getting any interesting beverages this time, but there were a few draft and bottled beers available as well as soju, sake, and other variations of alcohol :) Anyway, our kimchi pancake arrived pretty quickly, and it was very tasty! I liked how the green onion was integrated throughout, and the dipping sauce was very flavorful. It looked like it may be a bit spicy but in fact was sweet-ish :) Our bibimbaps arrived soon after, served in hot stone bowls. In addition, they provided six different small side dishes, all of which were very tasty! I really enjoyed the variety, as they ranged from pasta salad to kimchi. Honestly, the bibimbap was maybe my least favorite part of the meal, which surprised me. It wasn't bad at all, with plenty of tasty veggies included, but it didn't blow me away. Maybe I should have added more of the bottled sauce they provided :) Overall, we both really enjoyed our lunch at Okja and would definitely come back!

We also got the: - Seafood Pancake (crispy flour pancake with squid, shrimp, crab meat & scallions): Definitely my favorite dish- perfectly crispy and simultaneously fluffy, lots of well-cooked seafood. - Tang Soo Yook (battered deep fried pork, drizzled in sweet & sour sauce): I've never had this dish before, but I will admit I imagined it a bit different. It was more batter forward so the pork did get lost, but the batter itself was super chewy and almost tapioca-like, which was interesting. I liked the sauce, but I wish it came separately for dipping as the pork did lose its crunch. - Bi-Naeng (cold buckwheat noodles with pickled daikon, cucumber, pear, hard boiled egg, beef & spicy sauce): So refreshing! Loved the chew of the noodles and how complementary the spicy sauce was with the sweet pickled toppings. The beef was on the tough side with not a ton of flavor though. Ambiance is really nice and spacious, there are two sides: one with the bar and booths, another with wooden benches. Service was surprisingly fast. Lots of parking. 8/10 would recommend!

We were seated right away, and the customer service set the tone from the start. Our server was warm, attentive, and especially great at explaining how the dim sum works here. She did not just tell us; she actually demonstrated it, shared cooking tips, and made us feel completely comfortable jumping in. She checked on us often, and the rest of the staff was also wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. The food came out quickly. One of the best parts of the meal was being able to order steak, chicken, shrimp, and lots of vegetables, then cook everything just the way we liked it. It made the meal feel interactive, fun, and special. For my daughter and me, it was not just dinner -- it was an experience we got to create together. A heads-up for first-timers: there is a two-hour table limit since it is all-you-can-eat, and they do charge a fee for excessive waste. As long as you are reasonable and order what you can realistically eat, you should be totally fine. $39 per person. Thanks to Five Spice for a memorable mother-daughter experience.
