This raw fish over rice and spring mix was delicious, a little on the pricey side. The Bulgogi fries were super delicious. There was a hint of sweet in this dish so it wasn't just cheese topped bulgogi. The jalapenos packed a little bit of punch but perfectly proportioned. My husband enjoyed his Dolsot Bibimbap. Been a long time since we've been here. It was extremely quiet for a Saturday evening surprisingly. Food is as good as we've remembered. My seafood jjampong ramen was just the right spiciness with a generous amount of squid, shrimp, crab, mussels. The pork belly ssam was a generous serving with rice & lettuce for wrapping. Dolsot bibimbap was generous also filled with veggies. We liked that there was a choice of a soy based sauce with it for those who didn't care for the traditional spicy gochujang based sauce. My first visit to Aroma Korea was pretty good. I picked this restaurant after seeing reviews on Yelp. We were immediately greeted and led to a booth. It was nice that there was no wait on Friday evening. The menu here is full, and I mean full, of options. It took us at least 10 minutes to figure out what we wanted to order. We ordered Korean rice with shrimp and the surf & turf sushi. The Korean rice was ok. The Seasame oil was a bit overpowering for me. Adding soy sauce definitely cut the taste of the Seasame oil. Now, the surf & turf sushi is where it's at. We immediately wished we ordered two orders of the sushi. The sushi roll includes tempura shrimp, crab salad, and seared beef with a teriyaki sauce. Hidden spot with great parking! We went on Saturday evening and were seated right away. There's plenty of seating, booths and tables. We decided to just order appetizers as the entrees weren't appealing to us at the moment and we weren't very hungry. The Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps were absolutely delicious, I loved every bite. The Gyoza was pretty good. The salad would've been really good, but the ginger dressing was different than what we like. My family and I dined in on a Sunday evening right at opening time and the restaurant was nice and quiet. The waitresses were friendly and although the menu was available by QR code, they were happy to provide physical copies as well. We ordered a bunch of different sushi rolls to share. I found their sushi menu to be diverse and extensive, and the majority of the rolls sounded appetizing. The food took kind of a long time to come out though, especially considering we were the only diners at the time. The rolls themselves were super good! The fish and rice were fresh and the sauces were flavorful. I enjoyed every roll that we ordered and was impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Extremely disappointed with the Jjamppong I ordered. They served the instant noodles!!! There was not much seafood either. We used to live in the Nashville area and there was a Korean restaurant that served a very good Jjamppong. It's with fresh noodles and lots of seafood and vegetables. That was what I expected. There is no Korean restaurant in the area we live now so I was very looking forward to it... We are not coming back because the instant noodles shouldn't cost $16. I ordered the Bulgogi lunch bento -- it came with SO much food. The Bulgogi was tender and well seasoned, the California roll tasted very fresh, and the assortment of fried food was so tasty. Food: We've tried the Bulgogi Fries and the Budae Jjigae. The Bulgogi Fries were a great starter, and the dish was sweet, salty, cheesy, and filling. The Budae Jjigae for the most part was pretty authentic. It was quite sharable among 4 people if eaten with another dish, though we wished they added more meat. Luckily our waitress was great and got extra. The dessert was definitely not worth it though. Felt like it was just from the frozen isle of a grocery store. The inside was pretty nice. I have lived in this area for over 2 years and NEVER noticed this location until tonight! What a shame *inserts annoyed face* They are located somewhat in the cut, if you aren't paying attention - you will definitely miss it. Once you find it, you have found a truly hidden gem. I did a call in order, the service was kind and helpful. She explained what was in the rolls and provided if any changes would be additional (and what the additional cost would be). When I arrived, the parking lot needs some more lighting. It was very dark - a little concerning, however, I know they don't own the property so not something THEY can control. For this restaurant, masks are required to enter. Keep that in mind (if that is a concern for you). My food wasn't quite ready, but the staff member promptly gave me an update once greeted and informed of who I was. From what I could see from the front, it looked clean and well taken care of. Small dining room with a max occupancy of around 67 people (looking at the sign). All in all it was about 15 mins from the call in to getting my sushi. I would return to see about dining in. The food, I ordered pretty basic: California roll - added cream cheese Dancing Eel roll - added cream cheese Nothing was done wrong. They gave you a good filling to rice ratio. I didn't feel cheated or as if I just had a big roll of rice. The difference between the two rolls: The Dancing Eel roll - has COOKED Eel on top with avocado and sauce. As well, it had like a crab salad instead of a crab stick in the filing. The California roll - has a crab stick and avocado. Overall, good stuff! I will definitely be back for more. Tip: I like to heat my sushi the next day for about 30 seconds. There is something about the cheese warming up and mixing it with wasbi - yum! read more

I couldn't leave this Triangle Park area without having a full on Korean feast, so I revisited this place for a super-late dinner. One of their signature plate (platter) is this "SSAM" Tri-Medley BBQ Set, with a choice of 3 KBBQ meats. Priced at a whopping $45, and described as fit for 2 or 3 folks, I feared that I'd make a total Oinker of myself...but I was determined to try this once and for all. Well, surprisingly, the platter wasn't as big as I thought (and feared?). I could easily conquer this platter. In fact, I probably eat more than this when I go to any KBBQ joints. In that vein, I thought this dish was a tad too pricey. But then, I guess KBBQ don't supply you with Lettuce Leaves. Basically, "SSAM" is the Korean version of Lettuce Wraps...but for some reason, Korean restaurants charge you quite a hefty fee for this "Lettuce with Meats" Meal...?? Still, I must say that KBBQ meats, Kimchi and such taste AMAZING wrapped up in fresh Lettuce. I chose the Galbi (marinated Beef Short Ribs), the Dak Galbi (spicy, marinated Chicken) and Bulgogi (thinly sliced, marinated Beef)...and while all delicious, Galbi was ridiculously DEE-Lish!!! Honestly, I thought they could have been a bit more generous with the Galbi? Seems that the majority of the Tri-Medley was the Dak Galbi...naturally my least favorite. They do not have BOGO rolls but they do offer a few different roll combos! Also, their sushi is better quality than BOGO sushi I got all the sushi in the photo for $55! I paid additional $3 for fresh wasabi and it was worth every penny! I called in and they were ready within 25 minutes. This was the perfect amount of sushi for 2! The chicken was rubbery and all the flavor is coming out of the brown sauce. It's definitely not curry that Im usually used to eating katsu with but it has a sweet peanut flavored type of sauce. Definitely come for the bulgogi fries but I wouldnt recommend the katsu at all. Service is good. Server is attentive. Ambiance is chill and have a warm feeling. read more

Very solid Korean food here. I've heard good things about their lunch specials, but haven't had the chance to try them yet. Came in today and got the Bimbimbap with bulgogi. A personal favorite dish, and I think that Aroma did it justice. The gochujang sauce that comes on the side pairs perfectly and serves to be a piping hot and delicious meal. We came here on a late night and were honestly glad there was a place still open this late on a weeknight. There was a group of staff talking up a storm at another table but we were the only costumers, and things moved along sticky. - Agedashi tofu - 3.5/5. I would've preferred a thinner and crispier better, but loved the portion size and sauce. - Cilantro roll - 4.5/5. I just wanted more of it, more of everything! - Piano roll - 4.5/5. The sign is kind of hidden by trees but it isn't super difficult to find. I was skeptical because I usually don't think Asian fusion restaurants ever taste that good. So a Korean, sushi spot has me skeptical. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! APPETIZERS Spicy soy garlic KFC (Korean fried chicken) - If you've ever had double fried chicken before then you will know what to expect. They lived up to the expectation as the chicken was crispy and full of that delicious soy garlic flavor. My only complaint is that you only get 3 Takoyaki (Fried Octopus balls) - I've had this before somewhere and I didn't like it but I wasn't sure if it was the dish or just the way the place prepared it. This one was much better than the one I had before. The texture held firm so it didn't fall apart and there were little chunks of octopus inside. If you like the octopus texture than you will love this, but if not, then you might want to skip this one. Bulgogi Fries - This was by far the winner of the appetizers! It taste exactly how it sounds. Golden, crispy fries covered in the bulgogi meat, melted cheese, jalapeños and who knows what other goodness is in there?! We ate so much of it we were almost too full for our main course! ALMOST MAIN COURSE BTS Roll and Bulgogi Roll - The BTS roll is shrimp tempura with cream cheese, spicy tuna, and jalapeño. It's rich, creamy, crunchy and a little spicy. It's also absolutely delicious! - The bulgogi roll is basically the perfect bulgogi bite as it has some pickled veggies wrapped up with it and it's such a nice blend of savory, salty and sweet/sour! Samgyupsal (Pork Belly Ssam) - My wife ordered this and it was also amazingly delicious. The wrap up some of the pork belly in the lettuce they give guy. Then put your desired condiments that come with it and then dip it in the soybean paste and you now have the perfect little lettuce wrapped ssam. It's salty but in a good way. The soybean paste is so good! I would literally bathe in it. Bento Box - Our family members ordered a couple of bento boxes and even though I was only able to snag one bite of each, the fish was very fresh and delicious. They also gave generous portions of the sashimi. Overall the service was good. The food was better than just good and I left this place with a more open mind towards Asian fusion restaurants. Fun casual Korean spot in Cary. The food was good but it's more of a casual Korean bar food concept. The Korean fried chicken wings was my favorite dish. The double fried wings were just the right level of crunchy and both sauce options were delicious. The sushi was good but it was a bit westernized and heavy on sauces (although there were other lighter rolls on the menu). I wouldn't come to aroma just for the sushi as it's not quite on the level of the Triangle's best sushi restaurants. Don't let the turn in fool you. It's actually a road that leads up to a school. Make sure to make the first right. It was so dark and I thought I had made the wrong turn. I walked in and was immediately greeted and seated. It's a nice little space. I would imagined that it would be a great place to share some drinks and food with friends. The vibe is calm -- like straight out from K-dramas (lol). The menu had just enough items. I was torn between ordering traditional Korean food or sushi. I went with the short ribs. It ran for $20-22 but it came with a good portion of rice, lettuce, and sides. I thought it was worth it! The beef short ribs were flavorful, tender, and juicy. The presentation was very nice. I was quite impress. I look forward to try other items on the menu in the near future. It tasted really fresh and all of the elements of the roll tastes great all together. *Salmon Sashimi: Sliced salmon! It tasted really fresh and was cut correctly, so the texture was satisfying and soft. *Cilantro Roll: A roll with yellowtail, tuna, salmon, crab, avocado, cucumber, pepper, and cilantro. This roll also tasted pretty fresh, but sadly the cilantro overpowered the entire thing. It's hard to taste and make out the components that were in this roll. I've enjoyed coming to Aroma for the past few years, and I order the corn cheese and bulgogi fries every time!
