Came here on Mother's Day since I wanted traditions Korean food & not kbbq. We usually go to Seoul Garden but since we're on this side of town, this was more convenient. Dining room was more than half empty at 12:30 Sunday afternoon. We were asked if we were doing kbbq & when we said no, we were told that it was a 30-45 minute wait. The excuse was that they had a super busy Saturday & the kitchen is still trying to catch up. I get that they're trying to push everyone onto their ayce kbbq menu but that was the lamest excuse ever. Don't you prep early to get the pars set for the day? It is less work for them to do kbbq since the cooking is done at the table but this left a bad impression. We discovered Buldaegi when we tried to go to Seol Grill across the street on a Tuesday and it was closed. I have to say this was a great find - your loss Seol Grill you left the door open and now you'll have to split our business with Buldaegi! The place is small and intimate, with a relatively good sized menu with a good selection. The beef, pork and chicken bulgogi were all delicious. The pork belly was sliced nice and thick and was really meaty. The marinated meats as a whole were really good - especially the LA Galbi (my favorite). Although I wish they were more consistently thick slabs - I'll ask for that next time. The tofu soup was actually one of the best I've had - certainly the best in the triad. The only thing we didn't love was the ribeye - both plain and marinated were tough. But not a big loss because there are plenty of other options. Seol Grill still has a more extensive menu. I'd guess their Gold premium AYCE menu has twice the items of Buldaegi - but it's also twice the price and there's often a wait. So I can see us splitting our KBBQ dinners between the two places going forward. read more

Usually, we go to Seoul Grille across the street for all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, but I have to say that Buldaegi was just as good! While I think I still prefer Seoul Grille overall, the quality of the food and the excellent service at Buldaegi definitely give them a run for their money. What stood out most was the atmosphere. If you're looking for a quieter, more intimate KBBQ experience, Buldaegi is a great choice. The food was delicious, and the staff were attentive and friendly. This place is a hidden gem! I came here with my husband and one of our friends on a Saturday evening for their AYCE at 6pm and we were seated immediately. I loved the seating area! It was super spacey and comfortable. The bonchon came quickly, and they had an extensive menu of various cuts of beef, pork, and chicken along with corn cheese, octopus, tofu soups, gyozas, and steamed egg! They also had galbi on the menu! Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Our waitress was also attentive and checked on us regularly. I noticed that on the day I visited it was raining and they had a bit of a leak from the ceiling near the back close to the restrooms, but I appreciated that they made sure to mark it carefully for the customers. Also, the atmosphere was clean and calm with lovely Studio Ghibli acoustic music playing in the background. Oh I never experienced something like this before. You must try this place if you are in Cary. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the main course. The servers were very attentive to our needs, but to be fair, they were not busy. We went on a Saturday around noon. Ambiance was great, if there were music in the background, we could not tell. It was very quiet there. My kids ate with us and enjoyed eating the potatoes pancakes and corn cheese. The corn cheese is a must try. It is so creamy and tasty. For the main course, we got beef pork and chicken. The meat was well marinated and for as long we let it cook enough, it was delicious. We also got the fried dumplings and seafood pancakes. Didnt get a chance to eat because we left due to rude service at the door. The young guy asked us if we wanted to eat bbq or order from the menu. We had never been there and dont understand the differences, so we asked for an explanation between all-you-can eat menu items and sit down menu ordering. The guy acted arrogant and asked us if it was our first time eating Korean food.. really punk? We said no, but had never been there and asked if certain items were excluded for sit down vs all you can eat. He grew more arrogant and again asked us if we have ever eaten Korean food before - as if every restaurant requires 20 questions at the door. We left because we refuse to give our Dollars to bigoted A holes, who think they are the center of the universe. Guess what? Since my time in the military I have always enjoyed Korean food and this place does not disappoint. My wife works a few minutes from the restaurant so we try to meet up for lunch or an early dinner as often as we can. I have loved everything that I have ever ordered. We did not have a good experience. Coming from Cali we have tons of KBBQ. They are over priced, very slow with service. We were not asked if need anything during our meal, and when we flagged someone down they brought it at the end of our meal. For two brisket which is the cheapest meat at normal KBBQ, and one bulgogi with water we paid almost $100.00. I do not recommend this place. The bulgogi amount was very small too. We love Buldaegi BBQ and have been coming here weekly for more than a year. The bipimbop, I get tofu and my husband gets beef, cannot be beat. Always consistently delicious and the service is fast. Nothing special about the interior (it's functional), but it makes up for it in taste and quality. We've tried all the other Korean BBQ in Cary and this is our favorite. Fun fun fun!!!! This is our first time trying a Korean bbq house. We did the mixed combo A and it didnt disappoint! Plenty of meat: brisket steak pork and chicken. The banchan consists of bean sprouts eggplant kimchi pickled radish seaweed pickled zucchini lettuce leaf rice and something else which has slipped my mind. Some sauces to top it all off. You basically make a lettuce wrap with everything tucked in it. Yummy deliciousness! The haemul crispy pancake was made of assorted seafood gren and whitnonion and carrots. Was craving Korean food and my friend chose Buldaegi. The food was pretty great! We ordered the Haemul (seafood) pancake and Spicy Dak Galbi (a 'serves 2 special')! You can get 1 free ban chan (side dish) refill during your visit. The seafood pancake was my absolute favorite dish when I was abroad for a year in Korea, so I missed it and had to order it when I saw it. It and had a solid amount of seafood inside! I think I'm just used to Korea's super salty food so the pancake batter was slightly bland, but don't take this comment too seriously, it was still delicious with soy sauce! My friends got the Spicy Dak Galbi; it was 10/10 spicy to me and 8/10 to them, so I'd say this is a good choice if you love spice! They cleared this dish up, so I'd say it's also a win! The staff were also kind and the establishment was very well kept and clean! The service is low-key and polite. At times, slightly too low key. I'd rather that than constant interruptions, however. It's a sparse setting, not unusual for the type of food served. The tables, too, were sparsely decorated with a spoon and chopsticks. It's a good setting, as it forces one to focus on the food. The kimchi pancakes were interesting. That's the only word I can find .... They were browned and crisp on the edges, but more like a standard potato pancake with kimchi as texture. The kimchi taste was lost. The first few bites were delicious, but then as the pancakes cooled, became oily tasting. On the plus side, the leftovers reheated well. For the main course, I asked for a recommendation, and after a question or two about preferences, was directed to the buldaegi house steak which was described as tossed in a sweet sauce. Admittedly, I wasn't too drawn to the idea of something even slightly sweet, but if this was a specialty, then I'd give it a shot. Not sure what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised -- the dish came as beef cubes with only a very lightly sweet sauce and were very tender. It was served with a large bowl of rice but nothing else. While everything was good, and the portions were perfect, it was slightly more expensive than I would have expected for that perfect portion size. My husband and I really wanted to like this place since it's hard to find a Korean restaurant that just serves Korean food or just an Asian restaurant in general that's not fusion of another Asian cuisine. The japchae was really good however the beef bulgogi was not. The bulgogi had no flavor. There was more vegetables than meat. We happened to be in this part of town and ordered 2 bento boxes takeout for lunch. Omg!!! The value is amazing! We huge amount of side dishes (kimchi, marinated potatoes I think, marinated lettuce, and bean sprouts). The Bento boxes include a good amount of delicious meats, lots of rice, chap chae, a fried dumpling, and tempura veggies. Everything was so delicious and I wish we live closer!!! read more

I wanted some Korean food so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered my usual dae gi bulgogi and japchae. The prices were reasonable and very much about the same as others. The serving of the bulgogi was small for the price, much like a lunch deal although it was dinner. I've always had generous servings of the sides at other places but not here. The flavor of the meat was tasteful and not too spicy for my taste. I was hesitant of the japchae because of the darkness of the noodles. I've never had them so dark. There wasn't a lot of flavor and there was a lot of oil in the bottom. I doubt I will return. read more

I don't know why this place only rated 3 1/2 stars It deserves 4 . I have tried a lot of Korean restaurants in Virginia and in North Carolina and this place is one of the best. The food was seasoned just right. Usually the Bulgogi is way too sweet this was perfect as were all the other dishes we tried. I do think they need to review their price point on a lot of the food items. They need to either increase the portion sizes by 25% or decrease the amount they charge by 25%. .if they added a lunch menu with cheaper pricing than the dinner menu they would generate more business. Nobody wants to spend $50 or more on lunch. The service was on point. We will definitely be returning! A very solid and fairly priced KBBQ place for the triangle area. Our party of 8 ordered the buldaegi special combo, japchae, dbuk bok ki, and dak ganjeong. It's was plenty of food with enough to take some leftovers home. The meats were well seasoned. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the japchae as it was very oily compared to other I've had. Also wish it didn't cost extra for more lettuce wraps but at least the banchan was free refills. Service was friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back here again when craving kbbq. read more

This was my second time trying Korean food in Cary - I think it was a good experience with tasty food! We came in late on a Thursday night so we were the only ones there. I split the Beef Dduk Bulgogi noodle dish, and it was enough for two "not that hungry" people. The soup really had a delicious beef flavor, and comes out boiling. The sides were fun to try. I can't wait until they get their grill tops installed! Think I will wait for that until coming back, as it is pricey. read more

We ordered tteokbokki (rice cake in hot sauce) and Mixed combo B (Galbi and Bulgogi). Tteokbokki was exactly the same taste like we had it in Korea. The Galbi and Bulgogi mix was delicious, too. I can say so far this is one of the best Korean restaurants in the area with a decent price and good service. The place was super clean, too. This is my goto Korean bbq place in the cary-apex area. I like their meat selection, decent quality, and the marinated ones have good flavor. Also, I like the dak-gal-bi, wish they had more veggies as they have in Korea. Was a bit shocked that an extra order of corn cheese was $5, and also an extra order of egg was $5, seems a bit excessive considering that the small portion dishes are $8. But oh well, overall I am happy with Buldaegi and will come here anytime I want Korean BBQ. read more

First time at this BBQ house, but definitely not our first time experiencing Korean BBQ. Definitely lacking a lot for me to come back. I was not impressed with their side dishes. A few staple side dishes I have grown accustomed to were lacking. There was no sigeumchi namul (seasoned spinach), oi muchim (spicy cucumber salad), hobak bokkeum (stir fried zucchini), gaji namul (eggplant), and our ultimate favorite gamja jorim (braised potatoes). So, to start... I was highly disappointed. The seasoning they offered was bland. Korean food tends to be intensely flavoured, spicy and pungent; usually delicious, it's distinctive taste comes from gochujang, a fermented Korean chili paste made from glutinous rice, fermented soybeans, red chili pepper flakes, and salt, but not today. The side dishes normally helps with the flavor. The spring rolls was the best part of the meal. Which is pretty sad considering we spent quite a bit of money for our family's meal. So we (me, my bf and another couple) went here cause Seoul Grill was an hour wait at 5:30pm and we really didn't want to wait that long for food. Online it was 32$ for AYCE as long as you make a reservation-- so we called and made a reservation in for 15mins later . When we got there it was a cute little restaurant and they abide all the COVID rules (50% capacity and all the staff had their masks on). The food was really good and the staff was really friendly! But there are some things to note and is the reason it's a 4 star (honestly I would have put a 3 but my boyfriend REALLY liked it and insisted for a 4star review) than 5 star. 1) In AYCE, they provide all side dishes including - cheese corn, steamed egg, rice and other fermented veggies. ONLY the kimchi were free. The cheese corn, steamed eggs AND rice were all ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I understand the corn and eggs but rice? Really? That should be one of the cheapest items there and it would make the customers fuller meaning they wouldn't order or eat the more expensive things like the meats.. whatever, I wish I knew cause I would have rationed it better. 2) when the meat platter came out (~8-9 different meats) none of it was labeled so we had to guess which was which from the menu (which didn't describe it either). When we went to reorder, we had no idea if we were getting the one we actually liked. 3) lastly we were charged a SERVICE CHARGE of ~18% of our total without any explanation. Nor did it say anything on the menu that it would automatically charge us this. Was this the "additional service" cause we did AYME and they would have to come more often to re-up our meats? And it was just the 4 of us, typically gratuity is for groups of 6 or 8 people?? I don't know we were annoyed but still left some tip too just to be nice because they were really attentive and nice.
