Usually, we go to Seoul Grille across the street for all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, but I have to say that Buldaegi was just as good! While I think I still prefer Seoul Grille overall, the quality of the food and the excellent service at Buldaegi definitely give them a run for their money. What stood out most was the atmosphere. If you're looking for a quieter, more intimate KBBQ experience, Buldaegi is a great choice. The food was delicious, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want to enjoy good food in a relaxed setting!

Lunch LA Galbi Combo

We were planning to dine at one of my favorite Korean restaurants, but found out they're closed on Tuesdays. So I searched nearby and discovered Buldaegi and I'm so glad we did! The photos on their website don't do it justice. The dishes came out even more beautiful, colorful, and fresh in person. The service was excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic. I'll definitely be coming back with friends and family!

This place is a hidden gem! I came here with my husband and one of our friends on a Saturday evening for their AYCE at 6pm and we were seated immediately. I loved the seating area! It was super spacey and comfortable. The bonchon came quickly, and they had an extensive menu of various cuts of beef, pork, and chicken along with corn cheese, octopus, tofu soups, gyozas, and steamed egg! They also had galbi on the menu! Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Our waitress was also attentive and checked on us regularly. I noticed that on the day I visited it was raining and they had a bit of a leak from the ceiling near the back close to the restrooms, but I appreciated that they made sure to mark it carefully for the customers. Also, the atmosphere was clean and calm with lovely Studio Ghibli acoustic music playing in the background. This has been the best quality Korean BBQ I have had in the triangle and I am definitely coming back!

Oh I never experienced something like this before. You must try this place if you are in Cary. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the main course. The servers were very attentive to our needs, but to be fair, they were not busy. We went on a Saturday around noon. Ambiance was great, if there were music in the background, we could not tell. It was very quiet there. My kids ate with us and enjoyed eating the potatoes pancakes and corn cheese. The corn cheese is a must try. It is so creamy and tasty. For the main course, we got beef pork and chicken. The meat was well marinated and for as long we let it cook enough, it was delicious. We also got the fried dumplings and seafood pancakes. Highly recommend visiting this place. We will be back.

We did not have a good experience. Coming from Cali we have tons of KBBQ. They are over priced, very slow with service. We were not asked if need anything during our meal, and when we flagged someone down they brought it at the end of our meal. For two brisket which is the cheapest meat at normal KBBQ, and one bulgogi with water we paid almost $100.00. I do not recommend this place. The bulgogi amount was very small too. I was very excited and hopeful, but it was not worth it. We were not impressed with the service, and the prices.

We love Buldaegi BBQ and have been coming here weekly for more than a year. The bipimbop, I get tofu and my husband gets beef, cannot be beat. Always consistently delicious and the service is fast. Nothing special about the interior (it's functional), but it makes up for it in taste and quality. We've tried all the other Korean BBQ in Cary and this is our favorite. The kimchi garnishes are so delicious!! The prices are reasonable too, and the portions are much bigger than others in our area.

Fun fun fun!!!! This is our first time trying a Korean bbq house. We did the mixed combo A and it didnt disappoint! Plenty of meat: brisket steak pork and chicken. The banchan consists of bean sprouts eggplant kimchi pickled radish seaweed pickled zucchini lettuce leaf rice and something else which has slipped my mind. Some sauces to top it all off. You basically make a lettuce wrap with everything tucked in it. Yummy deliciousness! The haemul crispy pancake was made of assorted seafood gren and whitnonion and carrots. The best part was to cook on the induction range! Super fun night for us! Try it!

Was craving Korean food and my friend chose Buldaegi. The food was pretty great! We ordered the Haemul (seafood) pancake and Spicy Dak Galbi (a 'serves 2 special')! You can get 1 free ban chan (side dish) refill during your visit. The seafood pancake was my absolute favorite dish when I was abroad for a year in Korea, so I missed it and had to order it when I saw it. It and had a solid amount of seafood inside! I think I'm just used to Korea's super salty food so the pancake batter was slightly bland, but don't take this comment too seriously, it was still delicious with soy sauce! My friends got the Spicy Dak Galbi; it was 10/10 spicy to me and 8/10 to them, so I'd say this is a good choice if you love spice! They cleared this dish up, so I'd say it's also a win! The staff were also kind and the establishment was very well kept and clean! I love supporting local Asian businesses, so I'll definitely be back! 5/5 for food (quality and size) 5/5 for service

The service is low-key and polite. At times, slightly too low key. I'd rather that than constant interruptions, however. It's a sparse setting, not unusual for the type of food served. The tables, too, were sparsely decorated with a spoon and chopsticks. It's a good setting, as it forces one to focus on the food. The kimchi pancakes were interesting. That's the only word I can find .... They were browned and crisp on the edges, but more like a standard potato pancake with kimchi as texture. The kimchi taste was lost. The first few bites were delicious, but then as the pancakes cooled, became oily tasting. On the plus side, the leftovers reheated well. For the main course, I asked for a recommendation, and after a question or two about preferences, was directed to the buldaegi house steak which was described as tossed in a sweet sauce. Admittedly, I wasn't too drawn to the idea of something even slightly sweet, but if this was a specialty, then I'd give it a shot. Not sure what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised -- the dish came as beef cubes with only a very lightly sweet sauce and were very tender. It was served with a large bowl of rice but nothing else. While everything was good, and the portions were perfect, it was slightly more expensive than I would have expected for that perfect portion size. Even with all of that, I would consider trying again after they've had a chance to smooth out the opening jitters.

My husband and I really wanted to like this place since it's hard to find a Korean restaurant that just serves Korean food or just an Asian restaurant in general that's not fusion of another Asian cuisine. The japchae was really good however the beef bulgogi was not. The bulgogi had no flavor. There was more vegetables than meat. Also the japchae was hot while the bulgogi was warm.. which makes me think it was not made to order.

Ban chan

It was ok. The Golden Pig is better but they were closed today for some reason. Kalbi was good. Banchan was mediocre.

Great portions, nice service and everything tasted good. They could use a little more variety for vegetables, but overall a good experience! The table dividers and spaced seating is a nice touch, servers are well masked and space conscious.

The line that forms before they open moves quickly providing good service. The service is farm style ambiance casual. Dampf Good BBQ is a popular Texas-style barbecue food truck in Cary, NC, known for its brisket, beef ribs, and homemade sausages, operating out of Phillips Farm. Dampf is the name of two brothers who run huge wood fired smokers. Dampf is open Thursday through Saturday, opening at 11:00 am and may often sell out before closing. There is online ordering available but there is no delivery services through Door Dash or UBER EATS at this time. The dining area is rusticly limited to casual dress covered outdoor space that offers picnic tables for seating at Phillips farm. The featured sides are mashed potato salad, coleslaw, beans and elote, along with tasty artisan crafted beverages. I highly recommend! Check them out!

EDIT #2: I am…read moreputting this at the top, if you care to read the whole story, continue on. If not, then the only part that matters is at the top. DO NOT EAT BBQ ANYWHERE ELSE. We finally had time to order the Dampf Feast. OMG, This puts bbq I've had in the motherland of bbq, Texas, in second place! Dampf has earned that Michelin star. The beef rib is lean yet tender and flavorful. Melt in your mouth but without the squishy fat in between the meat. It was cooked and rendered to perfection. The rub is delicious. The pork ribs are my new favorite! IF I could somehow marry them with the (and don't hate me for saying this) P.F.Changs Korean BBQ rib sauce, I'd never eat anything else ever again. The pork ribs had a ever so slightly sweet and tangy rub on them. Very tender, hardly any fat so again, a perfect cook and render. The brisket was a tad salty for my preference but oh my, it was cooked to utter perfection. It was melt in your mouth moist and so flavorful. The turkey was very flavorful and will make for excellent sandwiches tomorrow. It was moist, which for turkey, is a testament to their skill. I didn't try the sausages as it's not my thing, our kids loved them. Lastly the pulled pork was the absolute best I've ever had. Period and hands down. Lean, moist and just enough sauce to give flavor. The bbq baked beans were oh so yummy and with a little kick! The fire roasted veggies were done to perfection. Roasted and cooked yet crispy and packed with flavor. I got two and even the kids went back for more! I can say this, Dampf has earned every bit of that Michelin star. Sorry, no pics. There wasn't any time. The whole drive home I was tormented by the aromas wafting in from the trunk. The camera wasn't even a thought. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Post: I'm leaving this review purely based on one interaction and the complete and utter lack of respect or appreciation for the people who decide to support their business. We like Texas bbq. So much so that we order regularly from Terry Black's Barbecue in Texas so when someone on Next Door suggested dampf, we decided to try it. Initially we drove past it because it's a very non descript location but it looked promising being on the property of a farm. They serve out of a food truck so the line forms outside, not a big deal but this day was rather chilly, still, for Texas styled ribs, it's worth the cold. Because we have experience with a Texas styled ribs restaurant (brick and mortar) in PA that would often sell out, we checked the menu for anything crossed out. We checked for any notices indicating items unavailable. There were no such notices and nothing on the menu was crossed out. We got in line and waited. Ten minutes, then twenty and the line barely moved and most of that was due to patrons ahead of us in the line deciding to leave. After an hour, it just over that, someone came and advised that they've been sold out of beef ribs, pork ribs and brisket for 2 hours. Wow. Way to show respect for our time. Why not cross out those menu items? Even after that announcement, they didn't update their menu. I just don't think I can hand over my money to a business that doesn't respect my time or business. EDIT: I received a reply from Dampf and appreciate the courtesy of that reply. We will give them a try, perhaps using the online ordering to be certain we don't show up when something has been sold out.

The girl at the register was struggling....both with my order and the order ahead of me, but she finally got it right. The volume inside was very loud today, I guess partly due to lots of people. I had "lean" brisket, collards , fried okra and sweet tea. I had one good piece of lean meat, but the rest was more fat and smaller pieces. The collards were spiced differently than I remembered. I will not get again. The okra was hot, but lacked flavor. Needs some kind of seasoning in the batter. The portion was smaller than last time as well. Another big factor in the decreased stars is the cleanliness of the tables. The table I had to sit at was REALLY disgusting. I cleaned it with a bunch of towels then went to the bathroom and got wet towels and tried again. I saw others wiping down their tables as well. There was no one taking care of the dining room at all the whole time I was there. Not a good experience here this time. The meal was $20 even after a senior discount!

I ordered a combo plate of chicken pastry and bbq pork, with sides of fried okra and potato salad. Everything was served piping hot, just as it should be. The Chicken Pastry (chicken and dumplings) had wonderful flavor and was comfort food at its finest with thick and wide chewy noodle dumplings. So often chicken and dumpling dishes can be overly salty but Ole Time Barbecue's was perfectly seasoned. The barbecue pork also had great flavor and also was seasoned perfectly, though unfortunately I can't do even the most mild of spicy, so even tho there were only a few red pepper flakes, they made it a little bit challenging for me to eat. The fried okra was cooked and seasoned perfectly and not at all oily and the potato salad was also really tasty. I also tasted their coleslaw and mac and cheese from Hubs dinner and both were delicious as well. Also loved their sweet tea, I got it 25% sweet . The biggest surprise was the large basket of tasty hush puppies brought to our table the minute we sat down, and refilled. Also delicious and seasoned perfectly. The location is very homey and diner like, with just a handful of tables so you may have to wait, though luckily we didn't. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was they served their sides in styrofoam containers versus reusable dishes like they use for their main courses. I do love that they're using reusable dishes for their mains so it seems like they could also do this for their sides. Less trash for the restaurant and better for the world... .
