I will say that Aroma and Siam Imperial are definitely closer to sitting down and getting served, as opposed to IB Thai (which does fine in) but is closer to take out (though absolutely amazing!) I'm not comparing one pot to another, they're all great and this one is excellent. Right by the water, has a parking lot. The food is delish, the inside is pretty wonderful looking as well. I got the appetizer sampler. It was normal American-Asian fried junk, but I kinda liked it. Well, the egg rolls were just okay. The texture was good, but they kinda taste like nothing. The cheese wonton things had a nice texture too. The shrimp were probably the best as I feel like they're usually less consistent, but these had a great crisp to it. The sauce was like a normal-ish sweet and sour in taste. However, I was not a huge fan of the spicy basil I ordered. I did not find this to be "aromatic." Rather, instead of spicy basil, it seems that I accidentally ordered the spicy onion, as every bite is meat and onion. I can hardly taste the tiny amount of basil. Their spice level goes from 1 to 10. I asked if the 10 would be an American 10 or Thai 10. He said it's "not 'that' spicy," so I went with 10. This turned out to be about right for what I wanted. On a 1 to 10 of Thai spicy, I would put this at about a.......4-5, so it is actually spicy. The flavor was still kinda lacking though. This dish is proof that just because something spicy, doesn't mean it has a lot of umami. Also, I don't like the rice here. I think it's not jasmine or short grain? It's long grain, right? Is it good quality Thai long grain or some cheap thing? I want to say I prefer it to be more absorbent enough for spicy food, but that's definitely not the main issue here. Best Thai food in IB. When we stay in IB we look forward to dinner at Aroma. We order ahead and they are always so thorough and the food is ready as promised on time. I finally come back here after two and a half years. This place is good and legit. My dad, brother, my two aunties and myself came here for a late lunch. My brother and I were pretty hungry. The serving of pad Thai was huge. I ordered a pad Thai with everything which included beef, chicken, shrimp and calamari. It was pretty good. Plenty of noodles. I washed down my food with iced water. The inside was nice and the waitress had both doors open. There was a nice breeze. Their menu had a lot of choices from appetizers to entrees to noodles. Service was pretty good. I really wanted to like this place. I did read the Yelp reviews and was a little skeptical to come, but wanted to try it anyways. I mean, who doesn't want to walk past the view of the beach and then grub on some Thai Food?! Parking: IB can't get pretty crowded and parking may be challenging, but know that Aroma Thai has its own designated parking lot in the back. The service: the young gentleman who sat us, literally said now words to us. He let us sit where we wanted, sat us down, put the menu on the table, walked away, and said nothing. Our server came, she did the bare minimum from taking our order, bringing our food out, and giving us our check. Nothing special, nothing memorable. Wish the workers looked more happy to serve and work there. The food: I ordered my usual, Tom Yum Soup and Pad See Lew. Bland is the best way I can describe the flavor of my meal. There was barely any beef and very little veggies on my Pad see yew. It was literally a plate of just soggy bland noodles. The Tom yum soup was lacking in flavor as well. I recently parked in their parking lot and found out there were fence posts with nails in their parking spaces. I brought this up to an employee and was brushed off. When I talked to the manager, he acknowledged that the broken fence was a known issue, but then said "you can't prove those nails popped your tire". It was disappointing because I would've been happy with any sort of acknowledgment of the issue and attempt to rectify the situation. I absolutely LOVE this place, By far my favorite Thai Restaurant. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the workers who by the way are absolutely wonderful. I always order the same thing when I come here but its because its my favorite dish. The prices are so great I even order other plates so I can have a taste of everything. My favorite dish is the chicken pad thai. They serve you with a good portion of food, i always have left over. They put just enough sauce so you're not overwhelmed with the taste. I like to get a level 2 of spice that way my plate has a little bit more edge to it. This plate gives you a taste of sweet and tangy and some spice its like an explosion of flavor in your mouth. I highly recommend this plate. Other than that, its located right next to the beach! The only thing that sucks is the cell phone reception.
