Im pretty sure its family run. They were warm and inviting. The fresh spring rolls were crisp and fresh. The sauces were really good too. Thai tea was the best I've had in a while. Their pad thai is the creamy style which I prefer over the dry variety you'd find at Bahn Thai and some other places. Ordered delivery for lunch on UberEats and I got their IB Steak plate. It comes with steamed vegetables and a side of white rice! I didn't eat the rice, but for portion sizes, it was definitely enough for me. Other than no utensils, which was probably just forgotten in the bag, the steak was a bit hard to bite. That aside, it was so delicious with their steak sauce! It was limey, salty, and peppery without it being too much. This is a small and affordable Thai place in IB with some respectable lunch offerings. I've been craving Thai food after trying it in Pacific Beach and I wanted some despite being down here near home, so I tried this place out for lunch on like a Thursday at 2:50 PM. I got myself the Chicken Pad Thai Lunch at spicy level 5, which comes accompanied with a salad covered in a type of peanut sauce, and 2 pork gyoza. Paired it up with some veggie rolls and my friend wanted her side of rice and we had a pretty hefty meal for only around 24 dollars with our drinks included. The service was also good as the guy was nice and patient with us which is always nice. I have to say though, that I didn't love the Pad Thai this time and the chicken seemed a bit dry to me. The noodles were also not my favorite and I'm not really sure how to describe why they weren't but the flavor, texture, and vibe was just really not there for me. I also just didn't love the veggie rolls because they had a very mild but still underlying wrong flavor that you get like when you buy those make at home spring rolls and they just don't hit like they're supposed to. The lunch deals are cheap and the food isn't bad, but it's not the best Thai i've had here in San Diego (55 Thai is still king) and I can't say I recommend this spot. I'm gonna change the noodle types and I'll be back for a second calling maybe I just need some Pad See Ew, but I really made me sad because I wanted this Thai food to be bomb soooo bad. It's ok thought, they were still very nice and acocomodating, and they have boba so maybe i'll try that too and see what else they have to offer. Also some reviews have mentioned it but this is most definitely a togo focused kinda place, and they gave it to us in togo containers without forks, he was almost surprised we had sat down and wanted to eat it there. People are mean about the interior but hey it's just another small restaurant, but yeah they totally have that togo vibe going on. To sum everything up tho, DO GET the lunches if you can make it before 3 PM because the price makes it worth getting the food every time i mean mann just look at the leftovers I had. DO NOT get the veggie rolls I'm sorry I hate that they were bad but they were not good. And outside of that try this place out once especially if you can catch the deals but do come in with some lower expectations. And I would drop my spice down to like a 3 it's not that I don't like spicy but I'm big on you can always add, never take out and 5 was just a tad bit too spicy for me. I normally love IB thai and will continue to get food from here, but i was a little disappointed when i ordered the spring rolls for the first time. traditional spring rolls contain shrimp, veggies, and vermicelli noodles (and sometimes pork as well) but the spring rolls here were honestly a scam. i paid $8 for two spring rolls cut in half and not only were the cut in 1/2 but it was nothing but vegetables inside the spring roll. i had to pick out almost half the veggies inside because it was too much and tasted a little bland. and they make sure to really stuff it will all veggies so it looks like you're getting your moneys worth but in reality you're not. definitely won't be getting them again. read more

IThe Drunken Noodles are very hot and spicy. If you like hot and really spicy then you'll love this dish. Even the 1 is too spicy for me. I learned to order with no red pepper flakes. This is by far my ULTIMATE favorite Thai place. I've driven all the way from Point Loma just to come pick up my order. Yes I'm sure there is other delicious spots in Point Loma area, but I get my money's worth at IB Thai. I actually discovered this spot on Groupon first. Groupon has a 15% discount and I decided to use it and after my first visit they had a dedicated customer. My husband even loves coming here and gets a huge smile on his face when I tell him let's get food at IB Thai. They are quick with your order and make sure everything is safe and sanitary when you come in to pick up your order. I highly recommend IB Thai if you love AUTHENTIC Thai food. Amazing Tom Kha soup! I asked for a level 10 spice and was pleasantly surprised, they definitely brought the heat! I walked into this restaurant and the girl behind the counter looked at me didn't say anything and put her head down and continued watching a video on her phone. I walked to the side to get someone else attention, I made eye contact with someone else and the didn't say anything and turned around and said something to someone else who came up front. Was excited when I saw a Thai restaurant opening so close to home.... definitely didn't disappoint. Today is their soft opening so we decided to try their Som Tom (spicy papaya salad, a family favorite of ours) and it's really good! It's a whole situation that comes with shrimp on top and cabbage on the side. It's very flavorful and they do a wonderful version here. They've got a pretty good selection of all the Thai classics on their menu (a reeeallly good selection of curries, too!). I ordered the chicken curry and I was asked what level of spicy did I want. I told them and it did not disappoint. The flavor was good and there was a good amount of chicken and potatoes which alot of places do not provide that. I was very satisfied with the meal. What I didn't like was the white rice I ordered was not filled in the container it comes in. Even the extra one I paid for. I didn't like that, it comes off cheap and stingy to be honest. But nonetheless the food was still good and I would like to try more items. As far as the place itself, I'm glad I ordered it to go because it's really not the kind of place that says EAT HERE! there are a few tables and chairs but it seems as if they are just there for convenience if you are on a quick lunch break or something like that. The food is delicious! However, 2 of the 3 times I have placed a delivery order, they have gotten it wrong. And, because they use a third party vendor for delivery, you're really kind of SOL. For the food quality, I would give 5 stars, but the inaccuracy forces me to give 4 stars. For example, I paid $1.00 extra for brown rice with each meal I've ordered, but they only ever deliver white rice. It is frustrating because you just have to let yourself accept the mistakes. It really dampens how good the food is at that point. I am, however, able to ask for a refund from DoorDash, but it makes me sad to not have a complete meal I can enjoy. read more

Just delicious food. The fried rice was savory and sweet while the soup was tangy, spicy, and flavorful. The soup has a finer and cilantro flavor that really gets you going- energizing. My only drawback is that I ordered this through a delivery service and when it arrived there were no utensils, and no napkins. I found a fork for my rice but I ended up sipping my soup from the container which didn't really give me the entire soup experience. Lastly- I ordered a 3 on the spice scale -out of 10- and my soup was so pleasantly spicy! I think more spicier than a 3 but I'm not mad :) It was wonderful! read more
