I had been told by a friend this place was a find. I walked by the other day and checked out the menu...a bit disappointed because I was craving ramen and it didn't appear there was ramen on the menu. The evening my boyfriend and I decided to try it, I was really craving a yummy soup. I ordered the Thai Coconut Noodle Soup and substituted out the rice noodles for egg noodles (I was watching them make the noodles and could not pass them up). Wooooow - not only was this soup absolutely delicious, the portion was ENORMOUS. Most definitely enough for 2 meals. My boyfriend ordered the Golden Coconut Curry Tofu wok-tossed noodle dish and he was blown away as well. Excellent food, great customer service, and the price was right! read more

While one may assume a noodle house is a house that serves noodles, there's the random possibility that it could be a house made of noodles. Now that would be something to see, but I didn't make the effort since the outside photos show a pretty standard suburban strip mall in the hamlet of El Sobrante. In the absence of any noodle architecture, I had the food delivered. I was drawn to their signature item, the $15.45 Thai Coconut Noodle Soup, which sounded like something Mary Ann would've made for the castaways on "Gilligan's Island". It was quite a thick coconut milk broth infused with ginger, galangal, and lemongrass and filled with fried tofu cubes, snow peas, broccoli, cabbage, and thin rice noodles (photo: https://bit.ly/3UM7SpR). Pretty hearty and flavorful. So much so that it overshadowed the lackluster $17.45 Grilled Short Ribs, which consisted of a couple of chewy slices of bone-in meat on a bed of garlic noodles and bean sprouts with a few random vegetables (photo: https://bit.ly/3zYSUDt). I recently found out that the Noodle House is closing. I am so upset. This is my usual place for lunch and I have been going at least once a week for over two years. The food is outstanding. At first I tried a variety of dishes until I found my favorite - Chicken Pad Thai. I ordered it so frequently that the waitress would just ask if I wanted my "usual" and I always said yes. The waitress was so nice, professional, and efficient. The one thing is she always wore a mask (think Covid) and I never got to see her face. I hope she was smiling under it! The Chef was great and my food would be to me in minutes. One thing they did was took care of those less fortunate. I would see them providing meals to people who may not have another one all day. So they were not only running a great restaurant, they were also great people. I will miss the food, the people, and the happiness I felt when I walked in the door. The waitress Abigail was very nice - best part about the place actually! The food was absolutely disgusting. The flavors were so absent ... bland and boring. Mushrooms were hard and chewy. Vietnamese salad had no flavor. Ambiance is awful. Tables are broken -and chipped in the corner and STICKY! They did deduct $14.95 - the cost of my husbands beef broccoli dish because he took one bite but it was too nasty to consume. I really only get my favorite item here. Any time I am sick I get the Thai coconut noodle soup. It so goood!! It's definitely my comfort food and always makes me feel better. Plus the serving is huge! I can get 2-3 servings out it. Add some chicken and it's even better. read more

Wanted to like this place after hearing one of my girlfriends raving about it. Not to mention it's down the street from my house. I wanted to like this soooo bad but it was just meh. The spring rolls lacked flavor and they didn't use traditional peanut sauce. They give you almost like a hoisin sauce which was super salty and counters tje freshness of the rolls. I got the mango beef because I love mango and it seemed to be quite popular here. I subbed the default spinach noodles for egg noodles. It was just alright... lacked flavor and it didn't feel like a cohesive dish. Like things just felt very disconnected and the flavors didn't quite compliment each other. In fairness, this was a doordash order so maybe I'll try again and go in person but if its anything like the food I got I'd say meh. read more

I was skeptical based on Yelp reviews but a was pleasantly surprised. The place was clean and staff friendly and prompt to serve. I love the fruit punch- it's more slushy like which I really enjoyed. Portions are generous definitely best to share. The beef garlic noodles and fried vegetable spring rolls were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. I will definitely return to this spot. read more

I was nearby and thought I would try a new place. Came in on a Friday evening and still on the fence base on some reviews. Side note; if you have less then 10 reviews and 0 friends I won't take your review to account. Anyhow, restaurant is big lots of space and a bar area so you can watch as they prepare your food. I ordered a papaya salad and although crunchy they added soy sauce. Maybe this is a different tradition of Thai that I'm not aware of? We couldn't eat it. The mango beef noodle has a very artificial blue/green color; it tastes very artificial too though the restaurant people said spinach noodle; no spinach has blue color like that. The beef was dry and chewy. The papaya salad is 1/5. If the owner want to save cost, please use cabbage or iceberg lecture instead of mix spring. The arugula aroma and bitterness is overwhelming. The chicken wings is 3/5. The sauce and seasoning are good, but the sauce was flooded; so much sauce. The chicken wings is fine by itself, no need ranch (they gave me ranch). I was not expecting to love this place. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of a tiny strip mall. They serve so many types of noodles that I wasn't sure if ordering pho would be a safe bet. My partner and I saw a lot of thai style noodles coming out that smelled amazing. I go to a lot of pho places in the East Bay Area. I'm a bit picky when it comes to finding good pho. I was having a bit of the sniffles that day and needed the magical pho to help open my sinuses. So I preferred the "beef noodles soup" hoping for the best. The server was very kind, wonderful, and extremely helpful. When I saw her bringing over a giant bowl of pho, I got excited. It was $8.95 for what I'd call a large bowl of pho compared to my usual local spots. The broth was clean, full of rich and deep flavor, and all of the spices were well incorporated. The noodle to broth ratio was on point! I like a lot of cilantro and asked for extra, they did not skimp me and gave me a decent bowl of it. The only thing I think that could be improved about the pho is the type of beef they are using. Pho usually has thin slices of steak and it cooks in the hot broth. The beef that was used here is definitely thicker and cooked in a pan before. It's a bit tougher and was already cooked when it came to me. The meat was still good but not as excellent as it could be. Overall, the portions, prices, flavor, and service was absolutely worth it! There aren't that many restaurants in the area and my beloved Sue's Kitchen was closed so my family and I decided to try out The Noodle House nearby. The restaurant is conveniently located in the corner of a strip mall and has ample parking. As for the food, they really do live up to their name as there were ample noodle options to choose from, ranging from pho to Pad Thai to wonton noodle soup. I ordered a Pad Thai and it wasn't until my food came out when I realized the Pad Thai didn't include any protein. While it does cost a little extra to add protein, I would recommend doing so to add a little umph to your dish. The Pad Thai itself was just alright, it definitely wasn't as authentic as I expected it to be. It had a lot of peanut butter sauce which I didn't mind but it wasn't exactly what I had envisioned when I ordered a Pad Thai. The noodles weren't your typical Pad Thai noodles either; they were slightly thicker and had a chewier texture to it. I definitely prefer the typical rice noodles. Overall, The Noodle House is a good place if you want a lot of noodle options to choose from, however if you want more authentic flavors and ingredients, I would go elsewhere. read more

Great value and huge portions! Someone recommended the Spicy Coconut Chicken Noodles and it's been one of our favorites when we're craving noodles but not craving Southeast Asian or Italian food. My daughter is vegetarian and they always sub out the chicken with huge portions of roasted tofu and veggies! We recommend getting the coconut noodle (the spinach noodles are amazing) and the Spicy Mongolian Beef Noodles. The Grilled Salmon and other grilled options are great too. This place is uneven. They may do a good job on a few things, but for the most part their food is trying to be Asian when it isn't totally there yet. It doesn't taste like their soup is made from real broth derived from boiling real bones. Their soup is anemic and is so salty it tastes more like water flavored with a Ramen packet. Real Asian soup is made with real bone broth, boiling the bones for hours until you get a very rich, full, and flavorful broth. I guess they take a lot of shortcuts here and use flavoring rather than the real stuff. In addition, their avocado smoothies are not made with real avocados, but with avocado ice cream instead which makes them in essence only a milkshake. An avocado smoothie sans the avocados, anyone? Tried this noodle spot early on a Friday evening. There weren't many people dining in but people were coming in and out for take out. There's so much selection on the menu! We ended up having g the Thai coconut soup and my husband the spicy basil chicken noodle. Beware this bowl of soup was huge! I think I only was able to eat until feeling so stuffed! The soup came out super hot, just the way I like it! The Thai coconut soup was rich in coconut flavor but could have used a little more salt in my opinion. The soup was still hearty and delicious and the vegetables in it were fresh. My husband's spicy chicken basil noodles were full of flavor a spice, he would definitely get this again. 3.5 stars if yelp would let me. I love Sue's Kitchen up the street and Pho Saigon 2, but when they are closed, this place can satisfy my craving. The menu has a good selection while not being overwhelming. I'm not sure if I would order pho from this establishment though, perhaps more of their wok noodles or rice plates are your best bet. Portions are huge by the way. The tables are decent and it is a clean environment with an open kitchen. Service can improve -- be a little more friendly and prompt. It's quite intriguing to know the place is owned by a Latin family when the cuisine is Asian fusion. We ordered the coconut soup and spicy chicken with spinach noodles. Both were really good. The coconut soup however, in my opinion, is better at Champa because the consistency of the broth is thicker. I would love to come back and try their lime and coconut soba noodles! Great Food...very fresh and tasty. We found the portions to be generous and were able to eat left-overs throughout the week. Hubs loved the Kung Pao Chicken noodles. I ordered Pad See Ew which, while really good, was a bit greasy. Also, The Papaya Salad was weird. Maybe it's a Vietnamese recipe. Thai Papaya doesn't call for soy sauce.
