I am packing our left over food and my husband went to pay. As he came back and waiting standung next to me, an older woman who brought us our food- not our waitress, asks me the service was good. Confused I say "of course it was good! Thank you so much". And she goes "if the service was good why didn't you leave a tip?" Confused, because I didn't pay. My husband says "I didn't know tipping was mandatory". To which she says "if you dine in you're supposed to tip because we brought you your food but if you do take out you don't." And she adds, "just leave anything". I look at my husband and asked if he had cash. Which he didn't. And I left a tip. To say, this would be the last time we go.

The broth was a given, a rich pork bone broth with a lot of umami. The kidneys were plentiful and tenderly prepared without being too chewy. We got there around 2:07 and didn't get our food until 2:40. 10 minutes to eat a very hot soup is neither feasible or safe, lol. I love that it's a family-run establishment. There was a young school-aged girl who served us. She must've been on spring break. She did make a mistake on our order. I had initially ordered one thing but then changed my mind and went with something else. She ended up bringing both. I wasn't going to send it back or ask to take it off the bill, because I felt bad.
