I own a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country handicap equipped vehicle. Today my wife "who has…read moredisabilities ", was driving up West Ave towards Prairie Cemetery. At a spot where you normally start picking up speed she happened to look down for one second and found herself crashed into a stopped vehicle. The vehicle was stopped for a funeral precession coming into the cemetery. I don't understand why there isn't any lights or anything to warn drivers. The officer said to her that the van wasn't drivable and called a local company to tow it. She told them I was on the way. She went to the hospital. I got there just as they were driving off with the van. My beef is that when we called Elders to try to retrieve the van, with-in an hour after. We were told it would be $613.00! What? They literally moved it 3.1miles! then were told that they would waive weekend fees. What? Also if we can't pay the $613.00 cash then we would have to surrender the title just to get our belongings. Which is my child's booster seat my wife's walker and other items papers etc. That van, totaled or not has $20 000 in accessories and upgrades for disabilities. The engine has less than 75,000 miles on it. We also have free towing with AAA. If givin the option we would've had AAA tow it home. But instead of healing we have to worry about a greedy money hungry local business gouging it's neighbors. I'm not even given a chance to try to salvage it. My wife depends on that van. She has doctors appointments for her and my daughter frequently. Also drops off and picks her up from school everyday. I think that it's so wrong for them to gouge the very people who made their business. I am going to publish this article everywhere in hopes that the greed and disrespect is well known , that ELDER'S TOWING IS A GREEDY DISGRACE!

They are absolute criminals. According to multiple reviews I am not alone in this belief and have…read morenever bad mouthed a company before. My 16 year old son was rear-ended. The officer at the scene asked him if he would like a tow truck called. The tow truck driver assured him that getting it towed to Elder (where the driver worked) was the best idea because they work with all the insurance companies and it would be the cheapest and so on. They tow it 4.5 miles away to their shop (the car was rear ended a block from home) and the next morning.... he owes $458. CASH ONLY Plus another $160 for them to get it out of there (or keep spending $60 a day) SO $618..... He was told this is because it was a "police call" The one way tow was over $375. Then $120 in over night storage fees. Since they would be closing in a few mins.....his toe truck bills would be about $800+ if he waited or $600 if he paid right now. $600....for a 4 mile tow. They didn't care that they took advantage of a 16 year old and his frantic mother. Beware. They do not deserve your buisness. Pure cash grab. We are in a postion where we were able to pay them off. I feel terrible for those that are subjected to this type of shakedown for more than a day or two. If this establishment can tell me that any of my numbers are wrong...then I will remove this post. If you are seeing this post...then they didnt even try to dispute it.

We met at my car within 20 minutes (on the dot). They were very kind and once my car was towed to the right spot they checked out my car and suggested what was going on with it. The payment was not bad either, it was 84$ for about 10 miles or 20 minutes. The other places were going to charge almost twice as much. So this company was super helpful when I definitely needed it.

My insurance company hired out Affordable recovery and towing and soon after they called me to tell me that they were on the way! Not too many companies will do that and update you. Only waited about an hour and two very professional guys showed up. Reason why I say professional is because we were in a residential neighborhood in the middle of the night and they were able to get my van safely but discreetly on the flatbed. They seemed to want to respect the homes in the area and hardly made any loud noises. They gave me a ride back to my house that wasn't too far and again they got my van unloaded relatively quietly. They also noticed my window was open and connected a jump pack so I could close my window. Again not too many tow drivers will pay that much detail in the middle of the night on a very short insurance tow. Through my job where I drive fleet vehicles I've done a lot of business with many tow company and I have to honestly say this company is on my TOP list!

I want to start by reminding everyone that Wisconsin has a Move Over law. If you're on a multi…read morelane highway and you see a disabled vehicle, police, EMS, fire, road repair, tow truck, postal vehicle or whatever on the side of the road you should move over a lane for safety. If you're already in the next lane, make room for drivers to move away from the side of the road. I feel very strongly about this because tow truck drivers have families to go home to. Anyway, it was a dark and stormy night. Maybe I should have started with that. My car electrical system warning light came on giving me about 20 seconds to pull to the side of the Interstate in the Pewaukee area before my car completely died. I would later find out it was the alternator. AAA couldn't find any available tow trucks, and running through the area tow trucks on YELP made me realize that a lot of towing companies list some bogus address so that a search by distance yields some really inappropriate phone numbers. One company in Whitewater WI actually had me on the phone for 10 minutes before admitting it would take a couple days for them to come and get me. I was way down the list (yes, sorted by distance) when Apple Towing answered on the second ring, helped me figure out where I was, and dispatched a brave tow truck driver in under half an hour. In order to hook my car up, at one point his head was maybe a foot and a half away from idiots zipping by at breakneck speeds reckless texting-driving in the pouring rain. He towed me all the way to my neighborhood mechanic, Rowell's, in Milwaukee for a pretty reasonable price. I tipped him the tiny amount of cash I had on me, and he graciously thanked me like I was generous. When you're completely at the mercy of someone who could totally rip you off, that's when common decency is most appreciated.
