I found Gerber on Yelp and I have to say, I am phenomenally happy with my experience. Submitting a quote online was super quick and easy. I received a response in a few hours. Later, I submitted a claim through the responsible party's insurance. I was interested that the shop performed their own paint work and was skeptical that they could match my car's unique red metal flake finish. The technician assured me that they do their best but let me know it may be a slightly different shade in certain lighting conditions. I was definitely a bit worried, but it turns out that they did an excellent job. I got a call about a week later that my vehicle was ready for pickup. I was so happy with the results of my repair! The bumper matches the rest of the car perfectly and the workmanship is second to none. I couldn't be more pleased. What's more - they matched their quote within about $50. You just can't beat that. Gerber turned out to be an excellent choice. I kind of wish I got rear ended harder so they could have done more work on the car (I'll be careful what I wish for).

Arranging for pickup was another nightmare. They could not give me an estimated time, even am or pm, all they do is give you an hours notice to pick up. If your car is some distance away you need to sit there all waiting for the call. It is 3:30 pm, still waiting.

The work, as you can see in the picture of the billing receipt we received, was guaranteed. The work did not hold, the crack spread, and we contacted the company for a refund. Up front, I will say we did receive our refund eventually. However, it was how it was handled, in part, that led to this low rating. Normally, I would not go out of my way to describe the situation in detail, but please see this as a kind of public service report. First, my wife texted the contact person to arrange for a refund. He was already gaslighting her that it wasn't his fault the work did not hold. His reply was curt. In my opinion, it was rude. But, he agreed to come see it. When he arrived, he was agitated enough that my wife asked me to accompany her with the person to our car. He was rather aggressive and rude to us both. When we reminded him of the guarentee listed on his website and the billing receipt, he became extremely agitated, stated that another hit caused the crack to expand and he did not think this was his responsibility to refund. We disagreed. He swore under his breath, pulled out his wallet and said he'd refund. However, he did not have the cash on him and hurriedly stated he'd mail us a check. We were not confident he would, but to his credit, he did. If this was the end of it, I would not bother to write this review. Maybe he had a bad day. We all lose our cool from time to time. It is the next action he took that led to this low rating. After his rude behavior, he was so flustered, he jammed his wallet back into his pocket, got into his car, and sped away at a dangerous rate of speed from our neighborhood. We have dozens of small children who walk and ride bikes and scooters. We have people with disabilities and older adults who don't move as quickly as they used to move. His driving was dangerous! I'm grateful nobody got hurt as he sped out of the neighborhood. It was a thoughtless, reckless, immature action that could have ended tragically. Certainly not worth $85. If I'd have known he would have done that, I would not have bothered with the refund! I'm just glad he mailed it and did not return to our neighborhood. I would not have wanted him endangering anyone I know with his demonstrated reckless. This review is for your consideration when hiring car windshield repair service. Post script: We had the windshield replaced at the nearby Safelite Repair in West Allis. Expensive service (safety system required recalibration), but consummate professionals.

I got a new chip in the windshield that started to spread. I texted Jim and he quoted me a price. He said he could come out the following morning and do the repair. He arrived exactly when he said he would did the repair. I was very pleased because with very cold weather imminent; one days wait would have allowed the crack to spread beyond the possibility of repair. He also repaired a chip on my wife's windshield for a reasonable price, since he was already at my home. I am very pleased with the service and will call in the future.

To put in perspective: Home Depot installed the highest end Simonton windows possible with the specs requested and came in at around $7k installed. Which means that HomeSealed has excessive profits padded in. So...if you don't care about the money side, they might be perfectly fine to work with as a local outfit. EDIT: laminated was requested as a cost compare option, not a requirement. Even if laminated were a requirement, Home Depot's was still cheaper by over $3k. Fact is - as we said - HomeSealed is just priced higher because they don't use every manufacturer, they only use the ones they use, which tend to lean the higher cost. That's what we said: they might be fine at their job and you might want the best of whatever, maybe they're fine. BUT...if you're like 95% of homeowners who feel that significant pricing differences for basic things like colors is illogical, HomeSealed isn't for you.

Now sometime in 2020 I was researching how one can tell they have carbon or metal-dyed tint. I knew they were using Suntek Films from their website. So out of curiosity I asked them what kind of tint they'd be using on my windows and the young man replied "HP for carbon" due to my car being newer. Keep this in mind: their website says they recommend, use, and charge an extra $10 for carbon tint; metal-dyed would be $179. Other shops in the area are charging between $300-350 for carbon tinting so I became even more suspicious. If you search around, you'll find that HP for Suntek means high performance which is NOT carbon tint... it's metal-dyed. So I paid $10 extra for metal-dyed, not carbon as I was promised. Only reason I went with them is because of a great past history with them and I have a panoramic sunroof so I'm not worried about metal interference with my electronics. I just wish they were honest and fair about everything hence the 3 stars. I posted this "buyer beware" story just in case carbon tinting is truly what's need.

They had my car for about 15 days because they had to order parts as some were not repairable and also they are not open Saturdays or Sundays. When we did go to pick up my car, the work was fantastic, even better than I thought it could look. I was happy to support a family owned small business. I love that they have the option to text instead of call and they send you a link with the estimated services so you can take a moment to think over your options with all of the details in front of you instead of scrambling to take notes. It was about a week before they could get my car in for an appointment and then a few days to make the repairs. When I went to pick my car up, I overheard the guy at the desk talking with an elderly woman about possible problems with her car. She hadn't set up an appointment yet, but they were kind enough to chat with her to give her an idea of their suspicions based on her description. Overall a great experience and I'll be back in the future.
