Save your self time and avoid in the morning. Iv come here 2x when it "opens" at 9am recently. 1st time, worker didn't show until 9:45am and today I left at 9:20am and still not open. Taking business elsewhere. In addition, if you see more than two people in lobby waiting, expect to wait close to 1 hour, they generally only have 1 person working. I just got conned by this guy. Took my truck in to get smogged. I have no illegal equipment on my truck, everything is DOT approved. My truck PASSED the emissions test. He failed me because I have the WRONG cats on my truck. I said "well, they are DOT approved right?" he said "Yes, but not for this truck." That is the equivalent of failing an electrical inspection because I used wire that was approved for a Chevy, on my Ford truck. I have passed smog in CA for five years, no problem, until this con-man took my money. BTW, he told me this after I paid when I asked for my papers. I have taken all my vehicles to Arrow Smog and have never had a problem. They are reliable and helpful. For those that give poor rating due to not passing, please do not blame them. The state of CA. has strict regulations when it comes to certifying vehicles, especially when it is a SMOG TEST ONLY. Note: DOT approved can still be illegal in CA. I have used this place a couple of times for smog checks. One thing I noticed is they need a receptionist as the man who attends you is the same who does the smog checks so unless you walk into the garage while he is in there working you most likely have to stand and wait for him to notice you through the window. The prices are decent and if you do not pass he gives you 20 days to come back to re-do it at no charge. The last time I did not pass and he told me to bring it back once the issue was fixed, BUT, he did not mention I had to drive for 100 miles after fixing it before it could get tested again. This was kind of annoying since I have to find the time to go back. Regarding the facility, it has a nice waiting room with a/c, a big screen tv, and a shockingly very clean restroom. I took my car to be smogged there, it is a 2007 gti. 2.0 automatic, completely stock with zero mods, it has a front end and hood from a different car due to front end damage therefore the information on the hood does not match the car. I noticed Luis was confused by it, so I told him that the hood came from a non turbo vw, after about 10 to 15 minutes of looking at the engine trying to unsuscceffully figure out the motor specs, he proceeded to consult a car manual , he then chose the wrong model and used it as a reference which caused my car to fail, I asked him the reason why the car failed, he then told me that the computer showed the catalytic was not ready and that the 02 sensor was not ready, then he told me that "this type of cars" needed to be run on the freeway for 200 miles in order for it to pass. I never heard of such nonsense, and I did not notice that he used the wrong model info for the smog. Once I realized "his" mistake I took the car to a different shop on the same day, I explained the situation to the tech about the front end parts, his answer was, thank you I know it is a turbo, he then performed the smog check using the right info, and the car passed. "WITHOUT HAVING TO RUN IT ON THE FREEWAY FOR 200 MILES" Thanks for nothing Incompetent Luis. read more
