They not only came out quickly they also helped me out because this same issue had occurred in the past. I've finally given up. ARS installed our new HVAC system 2 years ago. This came with a service warranty that included an annual service check and tweak. I scheduled this on 2 separate occasions and on both occasions ARS was a a no show. On both occasions I called multiple times to ask if the service rep was still coming and was told yes. After waiting each time until 6 PM or later I finally gave up. Well, the latest. With the cold weather our heater did not seem to be keeping up. So we called ARS (I know, why?) again to have them come check on our system. They were scheduled from Noon-5 pm. At 5:30 pm I called the office and was told, yes, they are still coming. Of course, as I should have expected, they NO SHOWED AGAIN. Lesson learned. Shame on me. read more

In January 2019, I contacted Home Depot for a HVAC installation and I had ARS Rooter install a HVAC unit. The following March 2020, there was no cold air coming out of the vents, so I contacted ARS Rooster. A technician came to my home and he said something like "there might be a leak because there was no coolant in the unit." He put coolant in the unit and left. I paid $59.00 for this service. Sometime later in June or July, I contacted ARS again due to a decrease in cold air coming out of the vets, a different technician showed up saying "everything seems fine." He measured the temperature with a laser and left. Throughout the season, I noticed that less and less cold air was coming out of the vents. I stopped using the AC in the fall of 2020. This March (2021), it happened again, there was zero cold air coming out from the unit. I contacted ARS and a technician came to look around. He told that I have a leak with zero coolant in the unit. He mentioned there were a leak through a transfer valve. I paid him a $99.00 diagnostic fee. A week later, a different technician showed up to install a switch on an outside unit, I don't remember the exact name of the switch and it may cost me up to $1600.00. A week later, a different technician showed up for a switch installation. He told me that my unit doesn't have a switch. He diagnosed a leak at liquid line filter dryer. He left without any work being done. I had to call back twice to find out what was going on. After three weeks, a technician came to install a new filter. It cost me a total of $500.00. The leaks happened during the first year of installation. I didn't have any evidence until the following summer. A technician filled the unit with coolant to stop my complaints. I installed a new HVAC unit, so I do not have to worried about AC, but since the installation, it was been nothing but a huge problem. I think I am being scammed by ARS Rooster or they have a lot of incompetent technicians working for them. read more

ARS was good and especially today. First off they were a day early which was great. I got a phone call and asked if it was going to be okay to do the work today instead of tomorrow and I said yes. That was really good of them to do so. Tony was there soon after the call and started right in changing out the frozen main water cutoff valve just outside our house. You couldn't even tell that he was there, after the work, other than seeing the new cutoff valve. He swept up the work area and also conducted a trial run to show how easy the new valve worked. That's the good thing about ARS. They really concern themselves with the customer, which today, is a lost commodity. They treat your house as if it was their own. You need something done related to they business call them. read more

When my HVAC system died ARS presented 3 replacement options to me. Their presentation showed that each of the 3 systems qualified for rebates under an SCE&G energy efficiency program. I elected the most energy efficient (and most expensive!) system which they said would be eligible for a $400 rebate. After installation I completed the paperwork and mailed it in. SCE&G says the system installed is not efficient enough to qualify for a rebate. As I relied on the rebate representation in making my purchase I wrote to ARS and asked that they either correct SCE&G's analysis or make good on their representation. No response. And Now I can't get them to even call me. They have a 1 year money back guarantee. I'm on the verge on calling them and telling them to come take the system out. Just got my credit card bill that I charged the system to and am planning to tell the bank that the charge is not authorized as I'm executing the money back guarantee. Maybe after I do so ARS will actually call me. read more

If it were possible to rate this company at zero I would. I was approached by their representative while shopping at Home Depot. She asked I they could come out to replace my whole house heating and air unit. I told her I didn't need a new one. I said I wanted ours serviced to work more effectively. She then recommended their $59 AC tuneup service, which she could provide to me for $49. I scheduled. The serviceman came, removed two side panels. hooked up a device with two gages to something, told me to feel how hot the compressor was getting and recommended I replace the entire unit. While I was inside the house he removed the circuit breaker and put it in the panel upside down. I asked if I should turn the unit off at the thermostat. He said that would keep it from overheating. I paid him, but he asked again if I would buy a new unit. This was the classic bait and switch. The next day, another company cleaned the coils released excess pressure from the lines and it works fine. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. Really terrible customer service. I had an appointment set up for this morning. They scheduled the call for between 9 and 12. I took the morning off work so I could be here. 11:30 comes and they weren't here yet, 12:30 still a no show and no calls to let me know when they might arrive. At 1:15 I called again and was told that he was on his way. His last stop was approx. 20 minutes from my house. At 2:10 he still had not arrived. Dispatch did not call even once to update. I can only suppose that they were just telling me what ever would get me off the phone. I've now lost a day of work waiting for them. Do not use these guys unless you can afford to wait all day. We had ARS out to our home in February 2022 for a check up on our two HVAC systems. He found nothing wrong but suggested having one of the capacitors replaced soon. Everything worked fine until mid May and the upstairs unit would not cool. We had ARS out again on 5/18/2022 (three hours after their ETA) and was told by a different technician that it was just a loose wire. He plugged it in and the unit started working again. I was charge $179 to have a wire plugged in... that had been last touched by one of their technicians. I called their "customer service" line and spoke with a very rude woman that told me a manager would call me back. That never happened. They are not reputable people to do business with. read more

Wish I would have paid attention to the other reviews. We did a $50 AC check told them the problems we were having and they said everything was OK. When I checked the vents with my temperature gun they were 10-15 degrees warmer than the other working vents. Asked them to come out and check again, only to have them miss two appointments. Tried to get an estimate for an install for a electric water heater, they gave me a time of 1-5 they got here at almost 8 at night then proceeded to give me an estimate for a non existent model# from Home Depot and I wanted a unit from Lowes. Called repeatedly to no avail even called Lowes . I am back to square one. Buyer beware dont get scammed by unethical non transparent estimates, and their customer service is just as bad because I could not get an honest answer form them. And to kick it off the curb they use the managers license#. just a bad deal from start to finish. read more

ARS installed my new ac/heating Carrier unit last spring at a good price and they were able to install outside my working hours so I didn't have to miss work...there was a bump in the road in the beginning of summer, but one of their technicians, Joshua got it all straight.. ARS needs to keep him as I will only let him service my unit...very pleasant, young man that knows his stuff...communicates everything clearly. I recently called ARS for my first of two maintainance services included with a new unit and requested Joshua and they obliged. I will be going with their annual maintainance plan soon as they allow easy monthly installments rather than one big lump sum. They are a 24 x 7 company, and do plumbing as well. read more

Scheduled for 12/6/21 at 4 pm no one showed. Contacted them by phone to be told the technician craven still has us on the schedule but is with a client he will call 30-45 minutes before he arrives. 7:50 pm my third call to them I was told by a very rude lady that the notes say he tried to call and they were waiting for my return call. Be aware - this is my second, similar experience - so fool me twice, shame on me. Had an ARS service technician come out for regular service and tell me that my air conditioning unit needed new coils, the drip pan under the attic unit was very rusted and needed to be replaced and both my units were leaking and low on Freon. He even provided me with digital pictures he took of all the issues. I called my 2/10 Warranty to file a claim and they sent out a technician. The ARS technicians coil picture was not our unit, the drip pan picture was questionable but inspection showed replacement was not necessary, neither unit was low on Freon and the ARS technician never cleaned anything as part of the regular service. Had I believed ARS, I would have spent THOUSANDS of DOLLARS for absolutely no reason. Both my husband and I have tried to talk to a Manager at ARS but no one will return our calls. Unethical from all view points - next stop is the Better Business Bureau. read more

Needed a faucet replaced outside and called ARS. Tom, the repairman, came out and told us how the line had to be cut, re-threaded and replaced. "It'll take about an hour" he said. $125 for an hour and replacement. Sounded like an honest deal. So after we agreed, he unscrewed the faucet and screwed the new one on. 10 MINUTES! AND still charged the $125! You may have screwed my mom and thought you were Mr. Tough guy, but you failed to realize the several thousand you lost with the job we had scheduled! Nice going. Crooks. Crooks. Crooks. Plus he left the old faucet laying in her yard. Couldn't even clean up ONE piece. Lost a customer for life and probably every one on my street when I'm done. read more

I have been meaning for a while to get around to this review of ARS of Charleston, but it kept slipping my mind. After seeing their ads for an Air Condition inspection for $59 and their special to flush a Water Heater Tank for $49 I was stoked and decided to call for both services. On they phone they were very polite and explained that an HVAC tech would be out to look at the AC that afternoon, and that a plumber would be out that morning to flush the hot water heater. So the plumber shows up and tells us that our Hot Water Heater is leaking and it needs to be replaced. And that he would not do the flush because of the age of the unit; that there was some sort of law preventing him from doing so. Anyway we didn't have to pay the $49 because he did not do any work; but we did ask him to give us a quote for a Hot Water Tank. He ended up calling back with some rediculous quotes between $1500 and $4000 (tankless); making us skeptical since we've replaced a hot water heater before for under $1000. So we call some other places and they give us quotes around $1000; and we schedule another plumber to come out and check out the tank to make sure he orders us the right one. Well, well, if ARS's plumber wasn't trying to rip us a new one; the hot water heater did not need to be replaced and there was no such law prohibiting him from working on a hot water heater due to the age of the unit. Found out later that ARS gives commissions on the hot water tanks sold and installed by their plumbers. This pretty much is why ARS of Charleston gets 1 star! Anyway the ARS HVAC guy wasn't so bad. He inspected our AC and said everything was working fine. He even gave us a few pointers on how we could keep it running longer. So he earns 5 stars for excellent service; however this review is for the company as a whole, so still only 1 star. In a nutshell, do not use ARS of Charleston. They will rip you off! read more

As others have said, service is ok once someone shows up. It took two days and two reassignments to get someone to show up. Dispatch system sends false messages saying that you are next and a tech is on the way. Only a phone call from the tech means anything, and chances are, he's going to want to reschedule from 8pm to noon the next business day, or 1pm, or 2, or whenever he gets around to it. read more

No reason was given as why they did not show up or contact us. We made a new appointment from 11-4. They showed up at 10:30 that night. Had a new HVAC system installed By ARS in 2015. Have the twice yearly checkup done for 50.00 each. Had them here last summer because unit wasn't cooling properly and now we are freezing so it is not heating properly Their service people are nice guys but not sure of their expertise. Now waiting for a blower motor which must be coming from China since it has taken so long and no one has called me despite several calls to their office. I was a customer of ARS for about 20 years. 2 years ago I had them install a complete new unit. Upon their recommendation I increased for a 17 to 20 seer rated unit. From the start there were problems: it was not installed properly, there were massive air leaks, the drip pan was too small for the new unit and there were water leaks and so on. It never got any cooler than the old unit. I tried several times to talk to the manager and he was never available and never returned my calls. After a year of trying and numerous service calls with no joy (labor warranty expired) I got a recommendation from a friend and went with another company. What I learned: The connecting duct work was too small for the increased capacity of the new AC. The zone system (that ARS installed earlier) was not compatible with the new AC. The wiring and the heater vent was not done in accordance to code. And so on and so on. Through out the years (20 years) I was using ARS for twice annual service calls, there were some great technicians but the majority seemed to just come and pulled a fast service. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT USE ARS. read more

AMAZING!! We came home one night to no AC, even the thermostat was off. This was our first AC unit because we aren't from here and we only lived here almost a month. They came out within an hour of my call, fixed the issue, clogged drain, and told us how to make sure it doesn't get clogged again. I loved how knowledgeable our technician was, he was quick and efficient and so polite. I highly recommend them. read more

I have a service contract with this company for 2 years. they were called on 7/29 to repair a mini split system. Tech showed up on 8/30 and had no knowledge on how to repair system. I was told by him and dispatch that someone would return on the 31st. which came and went with no service. I called and was told it was a mistake and they should have been there. Rescheduled again for Monday 8/3. This time 2 techs showed up and clearly had no experience with a Mini split system. I also had to lend them 2 short ladders to get to the unit and a Philips head screw bit to take some things apart. They resorted to checking You tube videos for instructions. after leaving for 1.5 hours for lunch, they returned and determined that the system had a leak! But, they were unable to perform a leak test, as they did not have the right equipment for to do that. -So, now I am awaiting their arrival for the 3rd time. I was scheduled for 8-12 this morning.It is now after 1:00 p.m. and no tech. The only # available to call is a call Center in Myrtle Beach., where they tell you that they will contact the service office in North Charleston by email and someone will get back to you. I have been promised a call back at least 3 times and am still waiting for one. This is no way to run a service based company, especially when your customer has paid for service contract a year in advance. I know from personal experience that not all ARS offices are like this. I will not be renewing my contract with them when the time comes. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. There are too many other reputable companies you can deal with. I've had a horrible experience with ARS / Rescue Rooter. ARS installed a new HVAC system a couple of years ago, but we kept having problems, at least once every six months: cold air would come out when we turned the heater on, and warm air would come out when we turned the A/C on; at certain times, no air would come out at all. We had technicians come and inspect the system, and every time, they told us some part needed replacing, like the damper motor, etc. Most recently, in November, our heater stopped turning on. So, I called ARS again, and they said they'd send out a technician. The technician arrived much later than the window of time that the receptionist told me. I ended up having to cancel my plans and stayed home to wait for him. When he finally arrived, the technician told us the zone board needed to be replaced. We were frustrated, and I asked why we were having all these problems when we had just gotten a new system. He explained that the HVAC system was replaced but the other parts were not and that at that time, it wasn't required to replace the other parts (I guess now it's mandatory for them). They said they would've offered that option, but I don't remember them doing that. We went ahead and decided to get the zone board replaced, and he completed it during this visit. He was helpful in explaining what the part was and how it worked. After the repair, he said he'd email a receipt, but I never received it. We thought the system was finally fixed, but then a couple of days later, the heater stopped working AGAIN. I was extremely frustrated and called the Charleston location in the morning and explained that a technician had just come by and "fixed" everything but that we still had problems. The receptionist promised to have someone over to check again. Again, no one showed up in the time window that I was given. I called to get updates, and no one was able to give me any information. If a technician is going to be late, I would hope to be contacted to let me know of a delay. By the evening, there was no technician and no phone call. I called the Charleston location again and no one picked up because they were closed already, and I was transferred to the call center in Texas. I was upset and explained, yet again, my situation to the call center representative, and she was not very helpful. Instead of trying to understand the problem, she talked back to me and was very rude. We hung up and then she called me after a few minutes to tell me the technician was on his way but also said this to me with an attitude. A technician, a different person from the earlier visit, finally arrived and took a look at our system. He told us that door that lets out the air was not shut all the way, which stopped the signal to let air out. He fixed it by securing the door with tape. We checked everything, and the heater worked again, thankfully. The technicians themselves are really nice, but they are always late and they leave a mess to get to the system which is in the attic area above our closet (debris from the ceiling fall all over everything). When I had spoken with the receptionist in the local office, I told her I wanted to be contacted by a manager so that I could tell them about my experience and that they could improve their services. She assured me that someone would reach out to me, but I have yet to be contacted. I regret my decision to go with ARS for my HVAC needs. I strongly advise against it. I felt disrespected, and I wasted so much time and energy dealing with them. They are unprofessional. This company sucks. They were called for an annual heat exchanger tune up/cleaning. They sold us on a package you pay $14 per month and they will also look at your plumbing. We said OK. The very next day our sewer line plugged. They charged $450 and removed the toilet to snake. They suggested we pay extra to have an outdoor cleanout installed. I declined. Later I found it was already there. No need to pull the toilet at all which of course cost extra. I canceled their monthly bullshit service and they stopped charging me. A few months later they started charging me again. They are crooks. There are enough complaints out there we could easily start a class action lawsuit against them. I scheduled an appointment with ARS to service my tankless water heater. They showed up without the flush kit (even after confirming they were coming to do that work two times!). When they arrived at my house, they immediately asked to reschedule, like showing up would help with my frustration!... not sure why they couldn't tell me over the phone so that I didn't wait around my house all day for them to show up at 4:30pm! To make matters worse, they wanted to reschedule for later in the week... not even the next day!... unacceptable!! Just beware - this is a pretty unprofessional operation. read more

After 4.5 years of feeling forced to use ARS due to them building my AC/heating system in my home (and using their warranty), I've given up on them. Let me explain. March 2013 -- My house was built and HVAC was installed by ARS. Spring 2013 -- We noticed that the house was not cooling properly and airflow was minimal. Upon inspection, ARS realized that they did not connect many of the air ducts were never connected to the unit. Therefore, we had been paying to heat and cool our walls and attic space, not actual rooms. ARS went through the attic to connect all of the ducts. Summer 2013 -- We paid closer attention and noticed that the thermostats did not work for their correct floors. The floor 2 thermostat would work the floor 3 airflow, etc. ARS had to rewire. July 2014 -- The damper motor quit working, causing airflow to randomly alternate between second and third floors when the second floor thermostat was on. ARS replaced the damper motor. November 2014 -- We came home to a house smelling of what I believed to be natural gas. We called SCE&G out, but they could not find a gas leak. There was a tiny amount of gas reading (less than 0.20%) coming from the furnace, so they tagged it and asked us to call ARS. ARS did not find a gas leak, yet told us we should order new gas valves. He repeatedly told us that we did not have a leak, and he could not find one using his bubbles or a lighter, yet he wrote on his paperwork that we had a "very small leak." The technician even stated that if we had a gas leak, it would not make the house smell because the gas would exit the furnace unit and go straight outside. Yet, he still insisted we get new gas valves. I cancelled this order after he left. After he left, we found out that the smell was from a sewer back up which had nothing to do with our HVAC system. December 26, 2014 -- The furnace quit working altogether. The thermostats were set to run heat at 65 degrees, yet the furnace would not turn on. I turned off the furnace breaker for about 30 minutes and turned it back on. The furnace would go through the purge cycle and try to ignite, but it would not push any air through. The technician came out and at that time the furnace began to push a very tiny amount of hot air through, yet it would not turn on all the way. The technician said that the furnace was hard-wired incorrectly and was not set up for high speed. However, the furnace had been working on low and high speeds normally for the past year. The technician "rewired" the furnace, although I'm not sure what that exactly entails. The technician pointed out that there was a problem with the height of the flame; the gas was remaining on for too long before ignition, so the flame was burning the metal furnace cover when it should not have been that large of a flame. However, the technician did not discuss how to fix it. The technician also pointed out that the damper motor (which was replaced in July) had gone bad again and was overheating, and would not be working at all anymore very soon. December 30, 2014 -- The furnace was working, although it only came on on the high, full-blast, very noisy setting even for a 1 degree increase in heat inside when it's warm outside. The ignition and air pumping out is MUCH louder and rattily than it ever has been, even when the furnace was switching normally between low and high speeds. I'm wondering if this "rewiring" was not a good idea. December 31, 2014 -- ARS came out today to replace the damper motor. This will have been the third damper motor we've had in 1.5 years. The technician said that the flame height was back to normal. He said that the previous rewiring was done because "the furnace was only ever wired halfway." He said that his new rewiring would "allow it to turn from low to high." This still doesn't make sense to me; it did work on low and high before. He also said last time he adjusted the amount of airflow and that was what was causing the immense jet-takeoff sounds, so he put the airflow back on a normal setting. Summer 2017 -- We had to keep house at 77 degrees because AC could not keep up at any lower temperature. The AC unit ran pretty constantly, day and night. August 17, 2017 -- After a summer of keeping the house at 78 degrees, the AC could not keep up, and it was often 82 inside in the afternoons. Had to add 3 pounds of refrigerant to the AC unit but no leak was found. November 7, 2017 -- The outside AC unit quit working entirely. All of the refrigerant had leaked out of it. ARS said the evaporator coils had holes in them. We are within our 5 year warranty period for parts. The estimate was over $3500 without a warranty to replace the evaporator coil and over $2000 after our part was covered under warranty. ARS also suggested we buy a new $15,000 total system replacement instead since it would be out of warranty soon. I'll reiterate that this was installed in March of 2013; it's 4.5 years old. read more

My home was built by Crescent in 2017 and is under warranty with ARS for the HVAC. I have been calling them for a month to get someone to fix a very minor issue. It took at least 4 calls before I could get a tech out and he said it wasn't his responsibility to fix the type of issue I had. He said it belonged to the 'NewCon' group and they then pushed it off to another division, who I have not heard from. When I have asked for other phone numbers to speak to managers, all numbers either have full voice mail boxes or I get disconnected. They would not copy me on emails being sent as they said it was against company policy, so I have no way of knowing if my issue is even being directed to the correct individual. Unfortunately, I have to deal with them because of the warranty unless I want to pay a different vendor to fix the problem. I would not recommend them. read more

Worst company I've dealt with. July 3 I made an appointment for Friday July 5 time frame of 9am to 12pm. I received a call at 9:38am from dispatch or whoever, letting me know it will be closer to 12. Fine, not a problem. At 1:05pm I called to get an update. I quote, "Our technician is having trouble at another job but he will call you 30-45 minutes before he arrives." I replied, "not a problem, is there another time frame now?" Lady on the phone, "no ma'am, we don't do time frames with the plumbing services." Confused and irritated I said, "ok thank you." I hang up and wait patiently. 5pm rolls around so I decided to call back. I'm still just as calm and polite as can be asking "what's going on, no one's contacted me, is someone coming TODAY?" I was told a plumbing manager was going to call me immediately. Fine, hung up. Waited, waited some more, waited 2 hours. Nothing. I call back!!!!!!!!! "I'm sorry ma'am, it looks like they overbooked today so we scheduled you for first thing Sunday morning" I am freaking boiling right now. As a monthly paying customer I should not have been given the run around!!!!! If you are a 24/7 company then you should send someone to my home the same day I scheduled a $_&-#@? appointment to fix your mistake!! Now we have to continue to piss and shit outside for another 2 days. That's if you show up. And it's pathetic that "supervisors" get off at 4pm leaving others to clean up a shit show. ARS came ref by the builder of my new (in 2010) home...So by unknowing default I dealt with them...While under warranty they claimed they replaced a damper (I replaced it today 12/21/20)...They had not replaced it merely made adjustment to the original...In 9/02/16 they found a bad blower motor (true)...Consequently we notice that the evaporation coil which due to it metal properties was severely rusted...On 9/08/16 they replaced it without cleaning out the debris caused by the removal of the blower motor which vibrations loosened rust on the evaporation coil which the professional sent did not recommend replacing it...For six months my wife and I inhaled trash and debris with unreasonable amounts of dust thru out our home...On 3/24/17 I had them return after I went upstairs in the attic removed the panel and viewed the issue myself....The mechanic sent was not the one who performed the blower motor install, but I had to pay the $89.service fee in spite of them being part cause of the problem...I have never dealt with them again!!! But today decided to tell them of my discovery when I replaced the damper they claimed to replace under warranty... I told the young lady I was headed to Yelp to write this review, no action required on their part just a heads up... Given their 2 star rating, now I understand why another young lady called me, presented herself as a customer service manager and stated that she heard I ask to speak to a manager...I had not!!! When I told her of the damper I had just replaced and said it was the original, she asked how did I know whether or not the original damper was replaced when they performed the job...hmmm!!! I told her I know because I was there as I was today...When I told her the mechanics here today verified its original install hearing this she asked who performed my install (none of their business of course)....At this I ended our conversation as I did not ask to speak to anyone and may not have written this had she not attempted to undermine my intelligence... Oh yeah, I called ARS for a quote on freon in 2019 and I was told that they didn't give quotes for how much $ per pound, an easily known factor based on type of unit and freon application...Nope!!! Have to pay $89. to have the tech come see what unit type and tell you the price (Not true)....When I mentioned that to Ms Mgr today she attempted to tell me differently (didn't work out for her)...If they have all of the unit info on file, why would he need to come and make that determination? (They would not)... Not too trustworthy at all... Play at your own $$$ risk!!! read more

I have never worked with a company where I actually felt robbed and had one put over on me by the end of working with them. After discussing with the sales person we decided to go with ars to replace our 17 year old ductwork and air conditioner. He told us we had to say yes now otherwise they would be too busy to do the work later on. We agreed. They rescheduled twice before they finally came out. Once the work was done over two days there were several issues that started right away. 1 - the master bedroom was immediately very hot. I took off the cover of the register and there was no duct work attached. It was laying on the ground and blowing into the crawl space. 2 - our frog was hotter as well. The install manager said they were going to use a smaller duct to one rarely used room to make the duct bigger for the frog. They didn't do that and the ducts were laid at a right angle cutting off air to get to the room. I actually got back in there and raised the ducts and hung them so they wouldn't be cut off. 3 - the cover in the bathroom was raised and not attached to the duct. It looked like they forced it and it didn't fit. 4 - they left little pieces of insulation all over the back yard after they left. I filled up a trash bag picking up all the pieces they left behind. 5 - a piece of ductwork in the first floor was not even replaced. It was a huge line and it was still the old decayed duct work. The techs said they patched it when i was told by the sales person that it would be replaced! I paid for ALL ductwork to be replaced! If all of that wasn't enough, getting them to come out and fix the problems has been even worse. I called four times to their main number where they told me that they would have someone call me back to schedule someone. This never happened after four calls. Even when I told them I had already called previously. They never escalated the issue. On the fourth call they put me through to Stephanie who was a "customer support manager." She called me 7 hours later to tell me they would be out on a Friday when I was out of town. I said that date wouldn't work. I had to call again to reschedule and the day they were supposed to come out they were a no call no show. We sat there all day waiting on them for no reason. I finally reached out to the sales person to try and get some resolution. After telling him I never heard from anyone after discussing with him a crew showed up unannounced the next day in the evening. Obviously upset to be at our house I said I didn't know anyone was coming today and they responded well neither did we! They fixed issue 1 and 3 and said they would be in touch the next day to fix #5. I am no longer shocked it is 4 days later and never heard from anyone. This company is absolutely awful. I feel like I have been robbed. They don't care about making their customers happy at all. 13k job and we just feel awful and not sure what our next recourse should be. ARS of Charleston SC never showed up or even called. Still waiting. Brought plumbing fixtures from Home Depot in Mount Pleasant which included installation. Home Depot uses ARS as their installer. Home Depot has no control or even cares about installation. Both companies are poor at best. read more

I never write bad reviews but this one warrants one. We had a very bad experience with ARS. Hired them to install 2 HVACs at $12400 total. They charged my card in full. Came on a Friday and removed the old units and left the house. Zero communication as to why they abruptly left or when they would be back. Called the sales person and he said don't worry they will be back tomorrow (Saturday). Saturday at 1 they still were not there. Sales person told me they were at the house working on it. I let him know that I was at the house and no they were not there and had not been there. Mind you they had already taken the old units and left a huge mess. After calling the office several times (you can't actually reach anyone just their Myrtle Beach call center) and calling our sales person with zero reply back from anyone, they finally called me back Saturday at 7 and said they didn't know what happened but they would be out on Monday to install and would call me Monday to make sure everything was ok and talk about a credit and asked if I hadn't heard from them by noon to call back. The crews did come out Monday and finished the units (left a mess) but of course I never heard from anyone and when I've tried to call, I receive no call back. I will be calling my credit card company if I don't hear back as promised. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in a LONG time. I would go elsewhere for a purchase as big as this.
