water softener valve failed and just needed a 2 copper pipes cut and a new U piece put in. 2 cuts, 2 solder joints and 4 or 5 inches of copper pipe to bypass the failed valve. Their quote was sooooo high I almost laughed in their face, but I didn't want to be rude. They quoted me $725, I got it done for $250. These guys are crooks. read more

My husband hired this company for a clogged drain. They dug up our grass destroying our sod and gopher barrier then said that it was not what they had expected and they were not able to fix it. We had another plumber come out who said ARS was completely wrong about the problem. They were able to fix it with minimal impact to our backyard for less than ARS was quoting which included $1200 of new equipment that was not part of the ARS quote. They required a deposit so we basically paid them over $500 to dig an unnecessary hole in our backyard that we now have to pay to get fixed. On top of all that, they keep scheduling appointments we didn't ask for to come back out. We have told them the issue is resolved and then we get another email that an appointment is scheduled. When you call you don't talk to a local offices it's more like a call center so the whole thing is a pain. - Premium Service provider is laughable considering their technicians were wrong about the issue, never actually fixed anything and they kept our deposit without following up on their "service guarantee". There was nothing premium or exceptional about our service either in customer service quality or expertise. read more

I was vulnerable and agreed to be charged $4850 for a simple fix. It should have probably cost me max $1000. I should have really researched this company before using them. I am absolutely disturbed and angry about what happened during a recent service visit from ARS Rescue Rooter. This is NOT just a case of unprofessional behavior--it's something much worse. After reviewing video footage from my home, I discovered their employees showed an unusual and inappropriate interest in my property. They weren't just there to do plumbing work; they paid excessive attention to personal details inside my home and even engaged my elderly mother in conversation to learn my work schedule--specifically when I leave and return home. This raises huge red flags about whether they were trying to gather information for something other than plumbing. I now fear that private information may have been disclosed, and I'm worried about possible unauthorized entry, theft, or even a home invasion. I live with three women, and we are all shaken and fearful as a result of this incident. I've lived in this home for over 30 years and have never experienced anything like this until ARS came here. This behavior is completely unacceptable and makes me question the safety and integrity of their employees and company practices. I REQUESTED A FULL REFUND AND WAS DENIED! I must say, I'm very very disappointed in ARS plumbing, I will never use them again. Here's what happened. A couple of Saturdays ago, I called them because I needed a center mount bathroom faucet installed. They said they had a technician in the Scripps Ranch area and he could come by in about an hour. When he arrived, he looked at the faucet and he said it would be $589 to replace it. I was really blown away by that high cost and when I pushed back a little, he said "look lady. I don't set the price, my company does either pay it or I can just collect the $99 service fee and be gone. He then said, I can drop $50 bucks off of it for a total of $530. We had company coming the next day, so I paid it. He was here for a little over an hour and got it installed. Here's where it gets a little weird. When I was paying the bill, he said instead of calling ARS in the future, call me directly, no need to go through the company, I'll come and take care of you. He would not leave until I took his phone number. It made me really uncomfortable, I really wanted him to leave my house. I thought about this for a few days and decided to call ARS and speak to somebody about the price and about this technician's comments to me. I called the main number, spoke to the person who answered the phone and told my story. She said she would leave a message for a service advisor and/or a billing supervisor and I should expect a call within 24 to 48 hours. I waited 2 days and no one called me back, so I called again, told my story again and was told I would receive a call in another 24 to 48 hours. I waited another three days, then called one more time, asking to speak to the service supervisor and I got nothing but attitude from the person that answered the phone. He was clearly not interested in helping me with this situation so I ended the call. It is clear to me that ARS is not interested in follow-through or following up with their customers, even when I am trying to tell them about a technician who is hurting their business. Customer service doesn't matter, it's just all about money. The whole situation has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I won't be calling them again. I am on the HOA board of my condo complex and we have recommended them many times to the residence in need of a plumber in our community, I won't be doing that again. Consumer beware of this high volume sale and forget Brick and Mortar HVAC service. 5 months after purchasing, installing of full HVAC system from ARS Rescue Rooter and being issued gurantees of 24hour service, we were let down. Our AC went down 28 Oct. after numerous requests via phone center and 3 cancellations on their part. Our contract was not honored. The company guarentees in writing 24hour service or a $555.00 check issued for not being able to service. ( see pics). Now it is 3 November and after calling to speak with Management and asking if their guarantee holds water? I asked why I was not contacted after 48 hrs or 72 hrs? BAIT AND SWITCH - STAY AWAY. They have a 2.0 rating on Yelp for a reason. I called for the advertised $79 Main Drain Clearing service with a free camera inspection. When the technician arrived, I explained the issue and was then told he did not have a camera to inspect the drain before clearing it. At that point, I told him they could return when they had the tools that were clearly advertised -- specifically, the camera. Before leaving, he suggested that if he were me, he would have the entire drain line hydro-jetted or even replaced. That was laughable. They hadn't inspected anything yet were already recommending replacing the entire drain. That's not professional -- it's upselling without diagnosis. The next day, I received a voicemail from the office saying they needed to speak with me about the service. When I returned the call, they asked questions I had already answered when booking the appointment (location of the slow drain and clean-out access). Then a "field supervisor," who had apparently been listening to the call, jumped on the line and spoke to me in a rude and confrontational manner. When I pushed back on his tone, he hung up. When I called back, they claimed they "hit the wrong button." I felt baited by the low advertised price just to get a technician on my property. Do yourself a favor -- find another plumber. If you're considering hiring them, make sure you get clear, written confirmation of exactly what they will do and what each service will cost. read more

Tarpy heating and air sold their business to ARS. We had a five year service contract with Tarpy so they passed it on to ARS. Tarpy was a very reputable, honest, family owned company who we enjoyed working with however, ARS is the worst company I have ever encountered in my entire life. We were scheduled for our annual maintenance service on our air conditioning unit and the company canceled five times before they finally showed up at our Beach House rental property. Each time we made the appointment. I had to hire someone to wait at the house for five hours, so I think I paid more waiting for them to show up than the Service visit. Next, we had an emergency call because the unit they serviced two weeks prior and said worked fine. Stopped working. I own a vacation rental and the Guests were not happy to have the mini split air not working, so I scheduled a service visit for the next day however, the company canceled. They are the worst. Yesterday the toilet and quest house shower backed up. I manually plunged and clear the drains but since we were still under warranty from the first service we had them come back out. I had a ruptured water line in my attic so seeing that ARS had bought out Tarpy I thought it would be wise to contact ARS. They responded fast, took care of the leak. Made contact to other companies for the damage. On 5/8/2025 Scott and I signed a contract to replace all water lines because he showed me that the water lines in the attic had severe corrosion so if I didn't replace the water now other lines would rupture soon. I had the lines repaired throughout the house. As the repairs were being done in the bathroom which was damaged a plumbing subcontract came to finish the plumbing, he said the water lines in the shower were corroded and he could not install the shower fixtures without fixing the water lines. He asked why the water lines were not replaced including the shower lines. He also told me that if the lines in the other showers were like the bathroom we were going to have problems sooner or later. I have been trying to get someone ARS to respond to my calls and keep getting told someone from complaints would get in contact to resolve the issue I paid by financing of the project which cost $34465. I also had paid the plumbing contractor $450 and another contractor to repair the wall $1259.89 so additional $1709.89 and possibly further expenses to come for the other two bathrooms. A past employee of ARS informed me that is why he left the company, but he had forwarded the email to the person at ARS who handles complaints, but that person has been out since 8/13/2025 and nobody is available to handle or resolve this issue Hopefully now I will get a response from ARS. But I will also be forwarding this to the BBB. read more

I had a simple PVC pipe repair job that I needed, similar to ones I've needed several times in the past. The two local Fallbrook plumbers I usually use could not come out that day so I called ARS. In the past, these repairs cost under $200.00. The ARS guy looked at the simple job for 15 seconds and said it would cost $1200.00. I guess he thought I wouldn't know what it should cost. Two things: 1. They charge $399 per pound of freon, so a 2lb recharge is $800. Also a condenser cleaning was $645. Got a 2nd quote from a local guy, he said condenser was good, recharged the system with 1.5lbs of freon for $100/lb! 2. They over schedule their techs daily. Then a woman from Vista called and stated that after I waited all of that time that she would not honor the quote I was provided on the telephone. She then proceeded to very rudely tell me she would charge me more than $500 to have someone come out. I proceeded to contact a different company. They showed up within one hour and charged me half of what ARS wanted to charge me. I won't be calling ARS anymore. We spent $22,000 on a brand-new, top-of-the-line heating and AC unit and inquired about a service plan at the time of installation. We were told it wasn't necessary. Fast forward one year and three days later--a service light comes on. When we called to have it checked, we were surprised to learn we'd be charged for the visit, and the quoted price over the phone ended up being inaccurate. What stood out most was how indifferent they were--clearly fine with us using another company to service the system they installed. It's amazing how friendly and responsive they are when they want your business, and how quickly that disappear once they have your money. Zero customer service. Guillermo (Memo) was fast and efficient. I had a Moen kitchen faucet replaced after the last Moen failed after 19 years. It went pretty smoothly until one of my angle stops dripped. He had one on the truck so I said do it but fainted when he told me it would cost me $325. I got a 10% discount I guess cause I'm a VIP customer with Tarpy Heating & Air (which they bought a year ago). He said the steep cost for a $30 angle stop was something about having to guarantee the angle stop or shutting the water off (which I did myself) - whatever but what can I do at that point? They got you. Either you do it or live with the drip. Anyway, even though it was almost $800 total (I bought the new faucet myself yesterday), I knew I needed a pro for the job and I got one. They guessed that it was a broken pipe. They concluded that they would install a pipe on the outside of the house and may have to break up the concrete. Estimate is 20K to 30K!! I said "No". These people bought out a reputable local air conditioning company, who installed a new HVAC system just under two years ago. When I needed service, the phone number connected to ARS Rescue Rooter, who purchased the other company. The first trouble call took over a week to show up, and did some kind of reset of the system, which I have no idea what that was, since I had no debrief or statement of work performed since I was out of town and my daughter had to let them in. A month later, the system quit again, and I contacted ARS for another visit. They scheduled a week out, and I moved my work day to accommodate ARS's schedule. The morning of the appointment, I received no text alerts about the visit, so I contacted the central number, and was informed that they had cancelled (no notice!) and would have to reschedule into late July, 3+ weeks away. I asked to speak to a supervisor to voice my displeasure. He called back to book another appointment 5 days later. That tech did show up (who was courteous and knowledgeable) and diagnosed the problem as a failed blower unit, which is supposed to be covered by warranty. Unfortunately, the part needs to be ordered, and I was told to expect a return within a week. So, relying on ARS to do their job, again. Today, I contacted ARS, and the operator said they'd submit a ticket to their Parts Department and to expect a callback within 24-48 hours! Not happy with that response, I asked to speak to a manager. Again, the operator "filed a ticket" and I would be contacted with 24-48 hours! ARS Rescue Rooter is long on promises, but short on delivering on those promises. Avoid these people if at all possible. Meanwhile, I will be searching for a competent service that can actually do their job, on time, as promised. read more

have used a different plumber for years to snake our drain and remove roots once or twice a year. This time called ARS and was told on the phone that the visit would be 90 something dollars and so I asked if that was for the job to snake the drain. Then was told that when they call to tell me when they are coming I can ask for a more specific amount but I received a text with ETA. In the past we paid about $90 for the entire job. This time I am told once plumber is here (and I assume that means already $90) that it will be $289 just to snake the drain. Uncomfortably I agree and then the plumber basically finds nothing in the drain (our other plumber shows me a handful of roots usually). Next morning the shower drain is even slower than before the plumber came over. Called and schedule another appointment for later in day, but somehow I don't hear the phone ring although I have it right next to me (makes me wonder if someone hung up just before the ring or something because when I called to complain was asked to check my "missed calls") and there is no text either. No one came to door (we have Ring so would have it on video). Now waiting an additional 4 hours with phone in front of me hoping someone returns. Next time will use our old plumber (they are able to remove the roots and hair and not just push it all further down). If they don't have the proper equipment to remove roots should not have charged me $289. read more

After a couple of hours I called and they said that I did not call and it was too late. I asked them why I got the message the technician was on the way, if I hadn't called. I scheduled an appointment for June 6 , with ARS for an AC tune- up. The window for arrival was 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. They called in the morning to reschedule (staff shortage). Rescheduled to June 16, 2:00 to 6:00. At 1:00 PM they called to reschedule again (over booked). I canceled. I set aside 8 hours in my calendar that now have become an aggravating inconvenience. I called them to replace my garbage disposal and was told there would be a $99 fee for the visit, which they later agreed to lower to $79. When I asked if this fee would go towards the cost of the service, they said no. I also asked for a general price range for the replacement, but they refused to provide even a ballpark estimate, saying they needed to see it first. Against my better judgment, I booked the appointment. The next day, their technician arrived (he was very polite and professional) and confirmed what I already told them: the garbage disposal needed to be replaced. Then, he dropped the bomb--$930 to replace it! For reference, a garbage disposal costs under $100 on Amazon, and the job would likely take an hour. I was expecting a much more reasonable estimate, closer to $300. I told them absolutely not and that I didn't see the value in paying the $89 site visit fee when no real service was provided. After some back and forth, including a call to their supervisor, they agreed to reduce the fee to $59. I left the interaction feeling taken advantage of and misled. They refused to provide transparent pricing upfront and then hit me with an outrageously inflated quote. I wouldn't recommend Rescue Rooter Plumbing if you value honesty and reasonable pricing. read more

After kindly reaching out to my ARS Comfort Advisor, WECare Customer Service, and Quality Assurance on multiple occasion, it is evident they are unwilling to do the right thing.
