TOP NOTCH!!! THE KIND OF TECH EVERYONE HOPES WILL SHOW UP AT THEIR DOOR! Our AC suddenly stopped working on a Sat morning. Being a weekend, during a heat wave, I wasn't expecting immediate service. Im also very selective in what company I call (Rating, reputation, etc). I called several & got mostly recordings. My last attempt, was Mauzy Plumbing & Heating & Cooling. To my surprise, an actual agent answered the phone & I was able to schedule an appointment the SAME DAY! How could I be so lucky... I investigated & reviewed the company again.... GREAT REVIEWS so I proceeded. The Tech that arrived (Christian) was impressive. He was was courteous & professional. He was very thorough & up front about everything. We explained our problem & answered his questions. Before he started, he told us exactly what he was going to do in advance. This was helpful. After we explained some of the specifics: AC blowing warm air, repeatedly tripping a circuit breaker & age of system (18 years), etc. He said, from experience, it wasn't a positive sign (especially the constant tripping of fuse), and not to be shocked if it's bad news. But, he said, that's his guess & could be wrong & wont know for certain until after a thorough inspection. The results of the inspection were not great but not as bad as he initially suspected. Also, during his inspection, he was very respectful of our property. He used slip on shoe covers on his shoes to prevent dirt entering the home. We have natural hard wood floors so that was highly appreciated. Most Techs (electricians, appliance repair, cable, etc) we've used in the past do not provide this courtesy. Also, when he entered out attic, he used a a tarp on the floor, under his ladder to prevent attic debris from getting on the floor, etc. These may seem like little things but, to me, they indicate, the level of training, professionalism & overall standards of a company. After his inspection, he did a superb job in thoroughly explaining the results & status of the entire system. Rather than telling us specifically what has to be done, he specifically explained the problem, in detail, & outlined numerous different options we had regarding repair or replacement of components... explaining the pros & cons of each, etc. He did not attempt or pressure any particular option... he just explained the specifics of each option in a manner we could understand. He also used his laptop/tablet made it easier to see, evaluate & compare. The visual representation made it easier to comprehend. We had many questions & he was able to answer each very clearly. He realized this was a very big decision for my wife & I. He suggester he could return to his truck for 10 min so we could discuss in private. We made our decision, & had him return to the house. We continued to ask him a variety of questions about what we decided & were very satisfied with his answerers. His answers were honest instead of guessing, etc. He could not give us an exact date when our components would be available but anticipated probably next week. In the interim, he offered the use of a temporary AC unit we could use at night while sleeping. He could deliver within a couple hours. I'm a fairly good judge of character, and Christian was honest & genuinely cared about what he was doing. It was a VERY HOT day (95) & the end of the day. Yet, he was optimistic, friendly, fresh & didn't cut corners... Again, very professional. In fact, when he arrived, the first thing he did was introduce himself (with a half smile). Very often, a Tech will introduced HIMSELF.... but it's just a SOFT formality....if it's done at all. Christian was very deliberate & enthusiastic. He wanted us to know his name & ask for each of our names (that's rare). His intent was clearly to establish a solid foundation/relationship up front... before talking about business... and he successfully did so.... Primarily because it was not just a matter of training but he was AUTHENTIC. It seemed to be his natural demeanor. read more

"SIMPLY AMAZING"...My fiance' and I was going to Lowe's looking for some turf for my small golf driving range in my back yard. When a man behind a small table asked us how was our AC unit at home? It was at that very moment I said, "Ah ha" good question. I said, we haven't had AC so long I kinda got used to it by now. lol Then he said, do you own your own home? we said, yes. That's when he introduced us to a free consultation at our home. That began our experience with Mauzy. Fast forward, we scheduled 1 week ahead. Two guys showed up on time, "Martin" from Lowe's and Paul from Mauzy. Immediately when we opened up our home to them, they said, hold on a sec, and starting putting footsies on. smh. I said, man I don't even do that. O.k. that was cool. Then they sat down, and shared some light hearted stories with us. We showed them our old unit, they looked at all of our rooms, sat down and ask us, "What do you expect is the most important thing to you? We said, honesty, commitment and no beating around the bush! Then they said how much do you expect a new unit to cost? We said, $5,000 should do it! They both looked us in the eyes and said, Wow, when did you put this unit in? We said, 1978. It was at the very moment they both understood that they needed to update us! LMBO! Needless to say, they showed us three units: 1. 12 SEER, 16 SEER and a 21 SEER. They explained what each unit offered and why? Then we looked at each other and said, looks like we could use the 16 SEER. So Martin from "Lowes" asked if we were financing it, we said, do you have cash deals? Paul and Martin both said, we don't even know, but we'll check because most people know a days finance most units. So we explained to them that we are more concerned with saving than spending, and we know cash deals brings bigger savings. They said, we'll get back to you. The next day, Paul said, sure we can do a cash sale. So he worked his magic, notified Lowe's and Lowe's granted an additional discount on top of Mauzy's. Now that was impressive. We scheduled for our three day AC renovation. Josh and Kirk showed up exactly, 9am and started working. They were professional, courtesy, trust worthy and funny at times. We were very comfortable with their service. I even offered them a couple of beers after work, and they quickly refused it. I was like cool, I get it. no drinking while working o.k. And as hot as it was in the attic, they never complained. They were like, "Man we been in attic that felt like 150 degrees some days, this is a piece of cake. For the next three days, they made it their business to clean up after themselves, keeps us informed on every step that they felt was important to us, and made us feel like the King and Queen of the our home. "Josh even helped me cut my tree down on the side of my house after the end of the first day. "That blew me away". At the end of the third day, they explained how the new unit operates, gave us a checklist of everything they have done, we signed off, they said, Thank You for your Business and left as easily as they came...SIMPLY PROFESSIONAL. There seems to be many Mauzy happy reports before us............and, here's our story--just another one to add to the Mauzy success storybook. After many years of a non-functioning AC system, we finally decided to bite the bullet and search out an AC replacement project. With an AC unit that was over 30 years old, we knew a repair solution didn't make sense. Knowing we needed a competitive replacement bid to compare with the initial one, we relied on what we knew of other San Diego companies, to get our next bid. Based on company reputation and reviews, we knew Mauzy was at the top of the list, for our next bid. Today, as we just had the replacement project completed by Mauzy, we can now pat ourselves on the back for making the right choice. Now, our first-hand experience with this project proved the MAUZY TEAM IS THE RIGHT CHOICE for solving home air comfort problems. From the initial sales contact by Dustin, the office phone contact, and all the way through to the final close-out paper work with the installation team of Santiago and Josh, the story is obvious: that Mauzy has the winning formula, with very pleasant and caring personnel. Dustin completely scoped out our needs and our existing system conditions, and provided several project options to include a complete new heating and cooling system. After giving him the go ahead with our selected option, Dustin continued to be involved as the project was planned in the shop, then he followed our project and stayed in touch all along the way, even though it was obvious his schedule was full, due to the extra hot weather business. Mauzy conveniently worked in the selected replacement project according to our requested replacement time. As it turned out, the removal/install time we wanted unfortunately coincided with probably the hottest 3-day period of the year. Even with the 100+ degree days, we couldn't have had a better install team, than Santiago and Josh. They were most personable and a delight to have with us, doing the hard work, all the while keeping us informed of each step, and accommodating my over-the-shoulder watching and questions. They obviously were well experienced and were extremely efficient in working through all the details of the old system removal and new system installation. Their experience also allowed them to make a few improvements for some installation details of the project. The system removal/installation time was just as Dustin had scoped out, 2-1/2 days. Then, talk about leaving a clean house at the finish line, Santiago and Josh went way above my standard of leave-it-cleaner-than-when-you-came concept. Santiago cleaned a few extra items not in the project, and Josh reacted to a question of mine by jumping in with a little extra exterior stucco patch-work, like he did for the new electrical box. My Wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago and over the last few months our electric bill has been through the roof. The need to go Solar was a must so I started looking at the cost and had several companies come out and give us quotes. After meeting with several sales men from a handful of companies I was skeptical of the entire process. Our SDG&E bills continued to grow to a crazy amount so we decided that it was time to look for a reputable company. After receiving the quote, which also referenced the great tax credit which I would be receiving, I was pleasantly surprised that I could afford to finally go solar! It was due to his professionalism, patience and knowledge that I chose to have Mauzy Heating, Air & Solar as the company that would be installing our solar system. The kindness and professionalism did not stop there, Travis Q, Josh O, Josh R and Derek E showed up days later to install our 26 panel system. They were quick and clean with their work and had all the panels installed and up and running in 2 days. They explained exactly what would be taking place that day and when they would be complete. They also explained to me the process afterwards in regards to SDG&E & city approvals required and the time frame that it typically takes. The day following completion of the install an inspector came out and gave us his blessing. When the job was complete, everything was so clean that you would never have known that they were ever there. Great job guys. After looking at several systems on other homes I did not want to have the ungodly look of conduit runs across my roof and have my inverter outside of my house. I let Travis know this and asked if he could run all conduit in my attic and place my inverter in the garage, he said absolutely. This is one of the cleanest installs I have seen yet. Very happy with the service we received. My Grandmoother who is 90 yrs old and on oxygen machine had her A/C go out on her 8/12/15. We have been having extreme heat some days here in Spring Valley along with the rest of San Diego County this summer. I called Mauzy 8/13/15 and spoke with Christine told her the situation at hand. She recognized the urgent matter that was at hand so she reached out to one of the top techs Elkan. Elkan made it his priority to get out here same day. He recognized the situation and was willing to add a additional job onto his already busy day. We are greatly appreciative of his hard work and willingness to come help us out. I also spoke to Sharon in the office along with Christine who were both very kind and helpful with dealing with the urgent situation that was at hand. When Elkan arrived he first came in checked on my G'ma made sure she was doing good then he went right to work. This guy is a very hard worker, compassionate, and very knowledgeable along with a great skill set at his job. After checking on my G'ma he went right to work. He found the problem out very quick. It was a part that needed to be replaced due the unit is well over 15 years old. He was able to check on G'ma, diagnose problem, dismantle unit, and replace part within 35 minute or less with much efficiency in such a timely urgent matter. After he finished up he came in checked on my G'ma again assured us the job was done and it was done right. Very compassionate, honest, hard worker, and overall a good guy with awesome customer service skills. If I had to recommend a business to repair your a/c I would recommend Mauzy. Everybody I dealt with was very professional, caring, and willing to get the job done for us. They took the initiative to step up to the plate. I called 2 other places before Mauzy and they were all booked till the following Tuesday along with Mauzy who was also booked till Tuesday but due to their great customer service reps and outstanding service tech Elkan they realized as a team this was a urgent matter and made it their priority to be here and help my Family member out. This company carried out a complete renovation of my HVAC system during a home remodel effort led by Marrokal three years ago in Del Mar. I was very pleased then with all of the new duct work, the reinstallation of my furnace, and the renewed set-up of my heating and central AC system. I usually only read reviews but do not write them; so I wrote nothing then about this major job that was extremely satisfactory. However, in the past weeks, I gained even more respect for Matt Mauzy and his team -- in comparison to other AC service providers in San Diego area. My 8 year old AC was not functioning and would not make a sound. So I sought diagnostics and advice about how to proceed to fix it or replace it from Mauzy and two other AC sales and service major providers. One technician from a local small company said that the Carrier condenser was broken, would never work again, and that he could replace it for more than $4,500. Another technician from a major department store chain that had sold me my Carrier furnace and AC said that there was a leak in the lineset and that it was the fault of remodeling services. Then that tech refused to locate the leak in the lineset or work on it. This was all the more frustrating because I had purchased the Carrier unit from that big company who now sent him to my home. Needless to say, subsequent leak testing using nitrogen gas or vacuum leakage testing showed no leak in the lineset. In contrast, the Mauzy technician said the small leak of Puron that ultimately caused the AC to shut off was actually in the coil in the condenser unit. He showed me where it was located and how he detected it. Then that highly pleasant and communicative tech, Elkan, made a good effort to get the system working again to my complete satisfaction. Elkan and Matt Mauzy have my full confidence and gratitude not only for giving me my home's new duct system but also for diagnosing and fixing my AC and for not trying to sell me a new condenser costing over $4,500 when I just needed good diagnosis and repair services. The striking thing to me was how differently 3 techs from 3 AC service providers differed in their diagnosis and solutions, with Elkan and Mauzy being the clear winners in the face of two total losers. This review is waaay overdue, so to the point. Mauzy is a totally AWESOME Company. I whole heartedly recommend them to anybody interested in Air conditioning, Heating, and Solar. We had all that done and are extremely pleased. First of all, was Travis. He just made things run smooth from beginning to end, operating as the quarterback to oversee the entire project. Each phase of installation had someone in charge (e.g., Solar Panels, Air Conditioning, roof prep, etc...) and Travis clearly explained what would happen, who would be there, and their responsibilities. First part of the project was the Furnace/Air Conditioning installation. The guy in charge of that phase was Santiago. Santiago was efficient, kept the house clean during installation, went above and beyond what was needed by rebuilding the closet foundation for the unit, and made sure we were satisfied during the whole process with constant communication. However, the best thing about Santiago was his demeanor while working in our home. He was always upbeat, had a smile, and kept the guys working with him in a good mood. It's people like him that make things great for the customers and his company, Mauzy. The next large phase with our install was the Solar installation which was led by Josh. He too was fantastic and wanted to make sure I was pleased with each phase of the installation by communicating with me. He gave me insight as to the positives and negatives for certain choices I made during the installation. Last but not least was Betsey. Every time I phone called Mauzy, Betsey initially answered the phone. See was always able to answer questions I had, but most of all made me smile over the phone. I really enjoyed speaking with her. Calling a company that renders services usually doesn't make me smile. Calling Mauzy always made me smile. Just like Travis, Betsey really made things run smoothly. Overall, everyone I dealt with at Mauzy made this project run fairly smooth and kept me happy during all phases. As stated earlier, I strongly recommend Mauzy. This will be yet another glowing review for Mauzy Heating/Air/Solar. We are doing some major upgrades on our house this year and a complete HVAC replacement was next on the list. We invited six companies over for quotes and eventually decided on Mauzy to do the work. Michael Lam was our Project Coordinator and he covered all the in-depth information we needed to make our decision, including our interest in adding new registers in each of our bathrooms. He also explained the Energy Upgrade California plan that provides a rebate for certain Energy Star-rated appliances as well as rebates direct from Lennox. Ron, Travis and Chuck got tasked to do the actual demolition of the old system and installation of the new Lennox Elite-series units. (20 SEER A/C and 96% furnace) The condenser unit is incredibly quiet. The whole neighborhood used to know when we had the AC on, now you can barely hear it when you are standing alongside. Ron, Travis and Chuck are completely top-notch and professional. They put down drop cloth to catch debris and the 30 years of dust disturbed by the demolition and had the entire system completely removed and replaced in less than two days, including the new vents in the bathrooms. My wife prefers a slightly cooler temperature than most so Michael and Ron got together and incorporated a slight redesign of the venting so a direct draft of cool air would come down right where my wife wanted it. No extra charge. These guys bend over backwards to make sure you get a system that works the way you want. read more

I am a long term customer of Mauzy and have never been disappointed with the quality of work and this week was no exception. SIlly me, my old unit was done and I had hoped that maybe i could do without air conditioning...Well, this week hit and i realized that was not going to work. So, I called Joel, estimater, and met with a friendly, kind, good, clean, thorough gentleman who seemed to understand my concerns and needs and not only was a deal struck, but they were able to come and install the very next day (today) before the huge heat wave we are having. The crew? Cant say enough kind things about them. Jake and young Matt were out here. Clean, respectful, friendly, efficient and quite thorough. They did the job, made things work in my old house (built in 1927) and explained things thoroughly. They were a joy to have around the house and watching them work, it was very clear that they knew what they were doing and interested in doing a very good job. It always says a lot when the workers love the company for which they work and admire the boss for whom they work. And this was certainly the case. They couldnt say enough good things about their boss and the company. I like giving my money to a company that treats its people right! Congratulations Mauzy. We hired Mauzy to replace our windows, hot water heater, and to add a new Solar system. With regards to the Solar system, Travis D, Josh O, Josh R and Derek were wonderful. They arrived on time and completed installing the solar system faster than I imagined. They even took care of getting everything approved with SDG&E, etc. Travis explained how everything works, and let us know that we can call if we have any additional questions. With the hot water heater, Travis Q was the gentleman who came to our home. He removed the old water heater and replaced it with the new tankless unit. He explained how the new unit works, and also let us know that we can call if we have any additional questions. I am so excited about getting our new windows. We tried to explain what type of windows we wanted (but didn't really know exactly), and Cody helped us pick out exactly what we were wanting. Pablo Leyva came out and measured our windows within that week. Our new windows will be installed next week. They came out, measured our windows, and had our windows made and ready for installation all within 3 weeks. Update: our beautiful windows are in. We absolutely LOVE them. Thank you thank you thank you! This company is amazing. And the icing on the cake is their great customer service. Every employee that came to our home was exemplary. Mauzy is the best! I cannot say enough wonderful things about them! I received 4 Heating and Air Conditioning quotes and they were very competitive. Not only that, but their professionalism was beyond the other companies I interviewed. Joel was our guy and he was fantastic! It's the little things like wearing booties when you come into the house - not a huge deal, but a big enough deal when you just replaced the carpets. Also, he printed out the proposal right there so we could talk about the options. Joel even went above and beyond to help me look into financing options that would fit us best! The other companies mentioned these programs, but Joel actually called me to follow up and told me how to go about getting approved... without even asking! On install day, Brian and his team were amazing. They were courteous of the fact that I am a stay at home Mom with a toddler and expecting another on the way... and our attic space is literally in the middle of our hallway so we had to dance around each other. And by dance, I mean they had to deal with me tilting the ladder every time my baby bump had to pass by. ALSO, our attic is SUPER small and at no point did they become frustrated. I was very impressed! It was a big job and took 3 days to complete so having guys that were respectful and just plain nice to be around was a huge plus. Like I said, I cannot say enough about Mauzy. We had Mauzy install our furnace, A/C & solar last year. They did a great job, they were efficient, friendly and no upselling of their products. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and friendly. Our equipment has been working flawlessly. However, this year when we turned the furnace on it did not work. The fans functioned, but there was no heat. I called & spoke with Mallory who was kind enough to schedule a same day appointment. Ginnethon (Gino), who did our original install, came out. He performed a quick check and found that our pressure switch was not functioning. He said that unfortunamely he would need to order the part. He said it would be in within a few days and he would set up an appointment to replace the part. Two days later the appointment was scheduled and Gino came out and installed the part. He tested the furnace to make sure it was functioning, which it was. However, the furnace wasn't maintaining the set temperature. I called the office to schedule another appointment and within an hour Gino called me to ask if he could come down the next morning to track down the problem. He followed the clues and finally found the thermostat was failing. Since both parts were under warranty they were replaced without any haggling. I want to thank Gino for his dedication in tracking down the problems and keeping his sense of humor and to C.J. Mauzy for having an employee like Gino on his staff. Bill D read more
