First time at Art & Craft Workshop! Went with a group of 4 for the Mosaic Lamp 2 hour workshop. Great experience besides the minor bumps. Contacting via email with the team was seamless when asking for a discounted price and ensuring our reservation was confirmed. Going in meeting our instructor, Jamie, was great. She was very chill & let our creativity speak. She was very helpful when it came to teaching and explaining. Her lamps were super cute ! The lamp making itself is worth the cost, you come out with a beautiful piece of art that you created. Once you turn the light on the design looks amazing, even if you originally think differently ! As for the minor improvements. We had to call to figure out how to get in. They said they we should have gotten an email about how to enter, but we did not. The other party that came in also didn't get instructions. So we walked the whole square. Entrance will be the gate closest to the main parking lot, on your right. Ask the staff for the code before going in. Also, DO NOT park in that parking lot or you will be towed. The signs were so small, we didn't know but Jamie informed us. Plenty of street parking ! Last, no Turkish coffee or sweets were offered though it said they were on the website. Not a huge deal breaker, but just don't advertise it. Other than that, great experience. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Jamie - you are a terrible person. My company and I booked a team fun event and let me tell you.... Our appt got pushed out to 3:00pm because they were running behind. Parking was terrible and hard to locate the location because it's literally inside another building with no clear signs at all, so we were FIVE minutes late due to parking and searching for the location. We enter... no one warm welcome. Just a "you're late". Totally bad attitude, not friendly at all, and just giving us the worst customer service ever. We all wanted to leave before we even started but we paid and there were no refunds so we stayed. She was giving us instructions but gosh, the way she was instructing us sounded like we were in boot camp or something. Extremely rude and not enthusiastic about being there. This place must've been desperate to hire anyone. I'm gonna let my team leave their review but my experience was on another level. I chose to make a freaken duck okay... at 4:05 pm i was done with my rug, so i decided to outline it in black.. I had more than an hour left. I go over to ask her if it was better to outline it before or after all the coloring. She tells me that I won't have time? Ummm yes I do! I have a whole hour homegirl. So i ignore her and I go back to my area and start outlining. At 4:45pm I decided ... I don't really like the bold look and she walks over and says that it looks better without the outline. I said okay... I see some blank spots on my rug so I'll add some more teal color after I pluck the black outline off. She says "you won't have time to do that"... like again with the time. So then I start to pluck the black off, and I did finish. She comes over and says: "I told you not to outline your duck in black but you did anyway. I told you not to pluck the black and you did anyway. So you're wasting my yarn and I can't let you use any more" I'm thinking ... WTF? I paid how much to be here and I can't do my artwork? I must've used like 50cents worth of black yarn. The audacity ... She was extremely rude to others around me, my team, and the other groups there as well. This was supposed to be fun but we had such a bad experience. Oh! One more thing. She lied. She said we were late and that she had a hard stop? She had a "mandatory court order appearance". Okay bish, courts closed, and also at 5:15pm there was a lovely couple waiting for their appt. So she had another reservation but made something up about needing to leave. The website says 2-2.5 hours, so what is the rush? Why couldn't I finish my cool duck rug? Why was she scolding everyone like a little kid? No she is not the owner because I asked. Damn... what a waste of time, money, and to Jamie... "her yarn". Oh and the place was hot asf... didn't even wana turn up the AC a little bit. Felt like I was working in third world sweatshop. It is a little challenging to find the actual store as it's inside a building with multiple businesses. I would recommend to give yourself extra time. To locate the store. I came in at 5pm for the moss class and when we arrived the instructor was a little confused since her boss didn't notify here that we were arriving so she wasent prepared for our class. Despite this she was still super accommodating and was able to let us do our class still after waiting about 15min for her to set up. The moss art was a fun idea but I do wish they had more variety of moss and things to place. Not sure if it was because they weren't prepared for our class and didn't have all the materials or if materials are always this limited. With the limited about of material it felt pretty restricting to what you can create. Our working area was also had pretty limited lighting. They also only had power on once side of the table. We did our class with another couple so there as 4 of us total. With only having power one 1 side of the table 2 people had to glue there items on a chair and couldn't work from the table. read more

We took a rug tufting class here and our teacher, Allegra, was amazing! She was super helpful, gave us practical tips, and was very encouraging even when we felt not confident in our projects. The location is a little tricky to find, it's in an alleyway and you will need to buzz to get in, so try to arrive a little early. Additionally, allot more time than you think you need even for a very simple project - rug tufting is hard to get the hang of and we were so focused on our projects, we couldn't really chat while tufting lol read more

Kids surprised me and took me here for Mother's Day activity. We bedazzled a lantern and it was so much fun. This place has other activities as well in fact my company was here for women's day to do candles but missed out on that. Our instructor was nice and knowledgeable and helpful with our project. You get 2hours to bedazzle your lamp. They had so many colors to choose from. They give examples you can follow or free style. I kinda filled but end up doing my own thing. My siblings and I came here with our mom for Mother's Day and crafted mosaic lamps for 2 hours which was such a fun experience from beginning to end. Our instructor Jamie was nice and explained the process well. You're able to follow the provided templates or freestyle. Overall, it's a great experience for kids, family, friends, coworkers, etc. All of our lamps turned out nice and definitely looked cool when it was put all together and lit up! Only con I'd say would be the misleading info about having Turkish snacks which wasn't provided and clear instructions on how to find the place. read more

Building does not have craft store signage: Only names of other businesses! They should include detailed directions in booking email on which gate to enter from and which code to put in. I was frantically calling right at the beginning of the candle workshop because I could not figure out how to enter the locked building. Luckily they called me back after I left a voicemail about my situation. It was so stressful. Once in, the craft host was pleasant and helpful but the craft itself was overpriced. Take home boxes were provided but they were too big. Probably meant for their lamp craft and not candles. They should provide some packaging paper to protect glass crafts. Heck, use newspapers, anything!!! to pad the glass candle so they won't slide or roll around. Their entire process was not well thought out and completely disregards customer experience. She then showed us how to use the tufting gun. She also let us borrow a speaker to play music while we worked on our rug. It was a really fun experience. It's great for beginners. Make sure you read the instructions they send on how to enter the building, it's a bit confusing. read more

It was a very fun experience, but the teacher didn't return, and we had to bring her out from the back. We also never received the Turkish dessert or tea. The teacher smelled like cannabis, which didn't bother me, but explaining that smell to my 10-year-old daughter was somewhat annoying. Additionally, the teacher was f unprofessional; when we asked her to take a group photo, she responded with, "I guess!'--which was quite dismissive. What a fantastic experience at Art and Craft Workshop! I'll admit I was a little hesitant before we arrived, not knowing what to expect, but my worries disappeared as soon as we got started. The instructors were patient, thorough, and incredibly helpful with their guidance every step of the way. The workshop itself was hands-on and so much fun. We had the freedom to be creative while still feeling supported with expert instruction. By the end, each of us had a unique, beautiful rug masterpiece to take home. If you're looking for something creative and memorable to do in San Jose--whether with friends, family, or even solo--I can't recommend Art and Craft Workshop enough. Scammy. Purchased perfume making class via Eventbrite. Showed up and no one arrived. Participants had to call to find out the event was canceled last minute. Per Eventbrites policy, they must update the class as canceled and issue refunds within 5 days to ticket purchasers. I've emailed, called and have been promised a refund yet no refund has been processed. Either they are lying, scammers or completely incompetent. This place is a hidden gem!! Nat, our instructor, was super sweet & nice. She helped draw my mat for me & was super encouraging the whole time. Tufting experience was great and they gave us lots of time to practice and pick out our colors. It was nice because it wasn't rushed at all, and we were the only party there for the first two hours. Just be ready to have an intense arts & crafts session for 2 hours!! They also have the best price I've seen around the area. Would definitely come again!! However, they were out of bids and all the bids that were there was sticky or just random mix bid leftovers from earlier projects. It wasn't a pleasant experience and the place was incredibly hard to find. After walking around the building three times, we finally found the place. We were excited once we got in but it quickly faded once we met the teacher. I got this as a graduation gift for my sister and I was really disappointed. I would have loved it more if the teacher wasn't so disrespectful and condescending to say the least. I'm sure she is a good person but service wasn't good and she was pressuring all of us to get our projects done instead of letting us enjoy the experience. She wasn't paying attention to any of our rugs and got mad over the smallest things. If you are looking for an experience where you can do any design you want, this is not the place. It felt hostile and I wanted to leave 10 min into the appointment. It was knowingly pricey so I had hopes for a more pleasant experience but was left knowing I will never come back and I don't think you should go there either. When I got home, my rug was falling apart which is unacceptable especially since we followed all the rules. After this experience, my sister and I still wanted to make a rug so we found a much more enjoyable place at Westfield Mall. We held my daughter's birthday party and the girls had a blast. The studio has so many beautiful yarns and templates, but each girl decided to do a custom piece - a favorite food, a favorite stuffie, a favorite character, something for their pet. All of them came out amazing! The rugs are super high quality and soft. The girls spent 3 hours there, and had a blast. The owner is a great teacher and host. He offered us Turkish coffee and Turkish Delight while we waited for the girls. I would highly recommend this for birthday parties, ladies night, or even dates. read more
