This was my second experience purchasing with from a dealership. I discovered Art Gamblin Motors through Autotrader.com where I found some trucks that were very reasonably priced and competitive with cars from craigslist and other dealerships. I reached out regarding a few trucks as I was out of state and moving to the area and was contacted by Gary Van Auken. Gary was so communicative and professional as we went back and forth looking to find a truck and deal that made sense for my wife and I. He actually found a truck that had come in that I had not seen which was fortunately still available when I finished my move. Everyone was extremely friendly to work with and quick to the point. Once I had my truck selected I came in to pick it up and spent about an hour and a half finishing paperwork and finance details. I look forward to servicing my truck with Art Gamblin and hopefully will be able to catch Gary in the office some as well. Sales department is great. Purchased several vehicles. This family business has served the community very well over the years. I have seen the service department become Progressively worse over the years. Their customer service is consistently horrible, borderline abusive. The last time I went in, I just wanted advice on clearing a code from a recent brake job (I do my own brakes). The woman at the desk was absolutely no help and actually told me that maybe I had mistakenly messed up my vehicle. It would have taken maybe 30 seconds for a technician to solve this problem but she insisted I make an appointment and bring the truck in for service. After doing some more research on YouTube, I cleared the parking brake service code on my own. This is only the latest of several negative interactions with the service department. Worst communication ever. I only wanted my AC fixed. Of course they found other things that needed attention. $2000 worth of "fluids" that needed refilling. Then they supposedly fixed AC unit, for another $1900, but when I got it back it was still pumping out hot air. So I take it in again and now they say it needs a new thermostat for $1300. This is a $175 part so he says the rest is "labor". I'm very disappointed in what I thought was a good company here in my small town. They are certainly making so much money on the mark up and labor. I paid almost $4000 and I still have no AC and my check engine light is still on. What a complete RACKET. Terrible experience. a truck was advertised at 58K in the window. I tried to buy it online, but it would not apply the advertised dealer cash, incentives, and chevy discounts. today (Christmas Eve) dealer called me, so I decided to answer and the price was 61K. I asked about the price disparity. the dealer said " the price includes all rebates which I don't qualify for. So I said ok I am not interested then. Dealer responded with "over 1000 dollars?" I said yes have a merry christmas. and so the dealer proceeded to call me 33 times in 7 minutes from 3 different phone numbers. to the point I have to file a police report for harassment. read more

I had a problem with my transmission and it took them 2 weeks to schedule my service. Once I got my car in, the two people working in the service department are completely unprofessional and rude. They don't greet you when you walk in and ignore you when you are standing at the counter while they stare at their computers. They sent infrequent updates on my car which took me almost 4 weeks to get back!! We had to ask the service team for updates when it wasn't completed when they originally stated it would be ready. The lady in service is not knowledgeable about cars and does not offer to help with a loaner car. Once I got my car back, 4 weeks later, it was making a rattle sound. I called the service Manager, Bob, who was completely rude to me and never apologized for the poor communication and the return trip to service. When I brought it back for the re-repair, they said "nothing was wrong with it" and asked that I come in to tell them the sound I was hearing. This was a complete waist of time. Not only did I buy this car from them, when I took it in to have the transmission checked, they told me I needed over $10k of repairs on my car that I hadn't even drove 10K miles!! They claimed this was "normal wear and tear" and failed to fix these issues before the car was placed on the lot. I have no faith in this dealership or their service department. Unless you are buying a new car from them, it's not worth it. They will dump all the mechanical problems on you and hide them. I used to think this dealership was reputable, but not anymore! We drove from the Olympic Peninsula after arranging an appointment with Morgan. He was not pushy, showing us several cars and answering our questions. After we decided on our new car, he rapidly handled the paperwork and sent us to Bart to finish up. We said we weren't interested in extended warranties, financing or undercoating. Made an appointment for DCT filter & Transmission fluid flush on my 2022 C8 Corvette. Brought the car in at 9am. Got notification at 3pm they didn't have the DCT filter. I had a spare new OEM one I brought to them so they could do the job. They asked after I broght the filter if i wanted to use it or wait for them to get one. WTF? lol Use it and get it done. Next day went to pick up the car only to find they did not do the Transmission fluid flush. I was to bring it back and they would nake it right. Then they said an additional $670.. i already paid $1000. They also charged me for an internal transmission filter they did not replace $165. I would not pay the ridiculous extra price and said i would not return. They had to refund me the $165. Stay away, be warned. read more

I bought a low mileage Chevy Bolt for a great price and great condition but when I drove it home I realized that the car did not have the fast dc charging that I wanted. I phoned the dealership, left a message and received a call from one of owners who immediately offered to exchange the car for one with the fast charging. I was able to find a car that was the same color, almost the exact same mileage and in great condition. This one was even better than the previous one, it had the fast charge and also a heated drivers seat that the first one didn't. The price was exactly the same, and the people at Gamlin Motors did everything possible to make my car buying experience incredibly great. Bought a car here recently and really felt like I got scammed. The sales manager was less than helpful. Left disappointed and frustrated.

If I could zero stars I would. I have never left a bad review for anything before this. We purchased a vehicle from Gamblin motors this week. When we test drive the vehicle we noticed that it was pulling to the right. When papers were signed they put in that they would fix the issue. A few days later we received a call to schedule the service and that they had entered the incorrect vin on the vehicle we traded in and needed us to sign papers again. We arrived at 9 as discussed and we were supposed to sign papers at 10. We sat in the service lobby/waiting area until after 10:20 then decided we would go up and find whoever we needed to see. We were asked to sit at a desk and when he was done he would be with us. We sat there for 10-15 minutes while the person we were waiting for was chatting with someone in his office. It didn't seem like there was any type of business happening, just chatting. I heard them start talking about how what is being done to end the homeless crisis is not working and how the idea is to tax everyone...this is when they shut the door and we again waited, for another 20ish minutes. It took just 2 minutes to sign. The feeling we got when we went in to purchase the vehicle and when we went back was a totally different vibe. They had their sale and we weren't important because we weren't there to buy anything. When we purchased the vehicle we were assured all vehicles they sell are thoroughly evaluated to ensure there are no issues fluids are good etc. I have attached a photo of the alignment prior and after the appointment. Clearly they didn't evaluate this. When leaving the dealership we noticed that on the steering wheel the leather had a long gouge in it that previously wasn't there. Our service person Chase and another man (not sure his name) came out and looked at it. The other man stated that's been there for a long time, there's dirt in it. There is no dirt in it at all, see the attached photo. This person was extremely rude and confrontational. He stated over and over this has been there, calling us liars and not providing any resolution. It defiantly has not been there and was not when we gave it to them. There is also little pieces hanging from the gouge, if this had been there for a while, those would have been worn off. He told us that there is a device that attaches to the steering wheel, but not in the location of the damage but there is no way for the device to slip and cause any damage. He told us he would need to talk to our sales person to see what he would like to do. Obviously we weren't happy with his statement, the sales person had nothing to do with it. We left the dealership and are waiting for a call but the rude man that said it has been there for a while made it very obvious they will do nothing. However it happened, it happened during our visit to the service department. We will never go back for anything. read more

Firstly let me begin by saying my family and I have four Gamblin's vehicles. They are all older, but have been maintained well. I purchased an oil change from Gamblin's Quick Lube on December 8th 2020 and on January 13th my truck lost all oil pressure in the early morning. My engine died. Later that day I had my own mechanic look at the truck to determine what had failed and it was the AC Delco oil filter that Gamblin's Quick Lube had installed (See attached photo). I called the Service Manager, Carl Thorsett and told him the situation. On January 15th Carl brought two service techs, one from the quick lube and one from their main store out to where my truck was safely parked. They confirmed it was the oil filter (see attached photo) and towed it in. Carl provided me with a loaner vehicle for the period of January 15-February 17th where GMC paid for a new engine. ***At this point 5 star service from Gamblin's On my way home from Gamblin's on the 17th my check engine light came on. Side note, my check engine light had never been on prior to the new engine so I turned around and went back to Gamblin's. Hoses from my Mass Air Flow System had not been reconnected. Problem solved, a tech took care of it and apologized profusely. On my way home the check engine light comes back on. I take it back in, Carl Thorsett tells me it's the MAP sensor and will be $115 fix, I say fix it. He comes back saying the problem is greater than that and I leave the truck in the shop for the rest of the day to be diagnosed. The next morning Carl calls and tells me it's the Mass Airflow sensor and is $350 - I did not and will not let them install it. 3 stars - I lost my trust in their service department read more

Don't listen to the salesperson who tells you they're a "DIFFERENT" kind of dealership and they "care" about their customers, because they don't. We bought a used vehicle here and were told it had been through Gamblin's service inspection to correct any issues. Visit/purchase at your own risk; hopefully you purchase from a different dealer and don't make the same mistake I did. First off, this dealer pulled a bait and switch on the vehicle. It was so pathetically obvious that they did as well and only honored the original price after I had to show them a screenshot of the sale price. They told me after the fact that "prices are always changing in this industry" ... which I believe but it's a crazy coincidence that a truck that had been sitting on the lot for over 50 days miraculously changed price from the time I left my house to the time I sat down to talk money. They were able to quickly change the price on their website but it didn't go through on AutoTrader and Cargurus fast enough to where I was able to get the sale price. Pathetic. I mentioned this to the owner of the dealer and he didn't really have much to say about "such a coincidence'' in price change just that morning. Pathetic. They also lied multiple times throughout the process. Pretty bad at lying but they did their best. One person said part of the family was on vacation and couldn't be reached and another was in charge dealing with the process. Then another guy there mentioned he was just going over numbers with so and so in his office .... Yet he was supposedly in Hawaii at the time. They should do better at coordinating their lies. In my sales guy's defense, I believe he was new to the dealer so he probably wasn't fully in tune with their shady practices. The owner tried saying they were working mobile yet when this was going down, they were telling me otherwise. Stupidly, I was desperate for the vehicle and I didn't smarten up with all these warning signs and I purchased the truck. These guys went on and on about how this was "Certified Pre-Owned" and that their people do all these inspections and there is that purchase confidence. I purchased this truck based off of that CPO tag on it. A Couple days after I purchased it, the engine light goes on. During the next month, the engine light goes on a total of 6 separate times. When I confronted the dealer about selling a lemon, especially under the CPO tag, the owner basically blamed my local Chevrolet dealership for not knowing what they were doing. I don't want to write a book or waste more time than I already have with this pathetic excuse of a dealer. I was stupid and desperate to buy the truck and in doing so, I allowed these people to try and pull a bait and switch, lie through their teeth multiple times, and sell me a lemon. When I told the owner how much money I've lost because I got rid of it, he let me know they would give me back the pro-rated extended warranty money....I guess he thinks I'm too stupid to know that the money is mine and they don't have a choice in that matter....but they aren't doing me any favors. Even in that process to cancel the warranty, their finance manger would respond with one line sentence/emails (with at least a day later to respond each time) and would not do anything to help cancel it....I had to go on their site, find their admin team's email and have the cancellation be facilitated through her. Common word I've been using on this....pathetic. After a couple direct emails to the owner and the GM, the owner did actually call me to apologize. Then he proceeded to deny everything and make excuses. He took zero responsibility for his dealership's actions and just made excuses for each issue. He would make a great politician. I'm sure they may respond to this with some form of lie but if this review deters at least one person, it was worth the hassle. Hopefully other people don't make the same mistake I do. If you do happen to buy from them, TAKE A SCREENSHOT of the price before they can switch it out on you (they're pretty fast at doing that on their website). Avoid the Chevrolet service department at all costs. They misdiagnosed the problem with our car. Unnecessarily installed a new muffler, without putting in the proper length brackets and ultimately melted our rear bumper. When we called, they said it was our fault because we had damaged the muffler. We took it to a muffler shop, who said they could find no evidence of damage. Gamblin called the muffler repair guy a third rate muffler shop and would do nothing to repair the bumper. It's worth noting that the muffler shop did not say anything negative about Gamblin and that they have been in business for over 30 years. Our money is with the integrity of the muffler shop. read more

9/13/21 11:30 AM. I brought my Camaro in for an oil change and to report an issue with a panel not closing on the driver's side when the convertible top is put down. I received the car back after the problem was diagnosed and told that the part needed to be ordered and would take a week or two. I was supposed to get a call when the part was received to schedule the install. 10/19/21 1:26 PM I called to find out status of the parts order. I was told that the parts dept was busy but I would receive a call back. I did not receive any call back. 10/21/21 1:53 PM I called back and the parts department confirmed that the part is in stock and ready for install. Scheduled appointment for 10/26/21 at 1:30 PM 10/26/21 7:31 AM I received a voicemail from Carl confirming again that the part is in and ready for install today at 1:30 PM but not covered by extended warranty. 10/26/21 1:30 PM. I brought the car in for service and after waiting for nearly two hours I was told that the part is not in stock and needs to be ordered. I told them just order the part and when it is in I will pick it up and install it myself. 10/30/21 6:09 PM Carl called wondering why the work order was still open. Ummm.... perhaps your employees should make notes in your computer system about screwing up and not ordering the parts you say you are ordering or supposedly have in stock when you do not have them in stock! It is now 12/15/21 and I'm still waiting for a call about the part they supposedly ordered. No service whatsoever from Gamblin. I'll never return, not even if they're giving away free cars. 12/16/2021 - Apparently Yelp doesn't care about real reviews because they have buried this review with others as "not recommended" so it does not get displayed or factored into the business's overall rating. Don't buy from Art Gamblin. Ended up having to take the car into the shop 4 days after purchasing due to noticing that the gears were grinding. We were told the car was still under factory warranty, and upon bringing it in it was shown to be tuned so the factory warranty is not valid. When discussed with the dealership, they avoided calls and texts. Super disappointed and stressed now as Washington is an as is state. The Shop says it is a common scam dealerships pull. I went to look at truck and when I got there it wasn't running and waiting to go in to repair. I told them I wanted the truck and as soon as it came out of repair I was going to buy it. They sold my truck to someone else while in repair. Probably because Identified two leaks and took pics to ask what they were...never heard anything back all week. Are negative stars a thing? My family was treated very nicely by the sales person at this place. The sales person came back and told us that our payments would not vary between a range which fit our budget. Due to Labor Day the finance person told us she was sorry and all banks were closed. Off we drove in our new Suburban. Fast forward a few days the finance woman- Kate Cooper calls me back to say that she can't actually get financing due to the mileage on the car and sometimes this happens? The car has 165000 miles on it. And she needs us to pay way out of range than what was quoted and what they led us on to believe was going to be the situation with Gamblin Chevrolet. We are dumping the car back off to them just as quickly as we came in to get it. Shady stuff going on here especially considering we have paperwork that states that our payments will be a certain amount but then a phone call stating they won't. Bad business for real! Unfortunately purchased a 2016 town and country from them and next day airbag light came on than the check engine light took to shop and a whole list of problems. Transmission engine biggest thing was no working airbags. Called and talked to boss he said it was my problem and gave some money to help but not even cover cost of airbags alone. The total bill was around 3600. Long story short they did finally took the van back but left my family with the bill from the mechanic. So much for being honest and taking care of their customers. They refused to take van back prior to all work being done than we spend 3600 on work to be done just to make it safe for the family to drive than they decide to take back. Regrettably, going to Dealerships has not always been enjoyable, with respect to the high pressure tactics many employ. This time, however, it was quite different. I wanted to trade my 2018 f150 fx4 3.5 with 50k miles for a 2006 dodge ram 3500 5.9 diesel with 112k miles. They wanted 32,500 for the dodge which needed a paint job and a bed side replaced or repaired and interior driver seat has tears in it. They would only give me 32k for my f150 which was in extremely great condition, which was upgraded to all leather, new tires and a bed topper. Kbb was 38-40k. The dodge was 20-23k So don't expect to get a reasonable trade in value and expect to overpay for their vehicles. They also had a couple 2007/2008 chevy 2500 duramax that were way overpriced and in rough shape. Not reccomended at all. read more

Sent to them Good Monday Alan, below is what I sent in this morning through your contact page (although it cut me off to everything I wanted to say), but I am sending it on to you as well because I run a family owned business and if a employee and his supervisor were aware of what happen to me and just let it get swept under rug I would be upset. This is so that you are aware of how your business is being run, because we can't have eyes on everything. Really in shock of how this is handled. I would like somebody there (maybe you care, maybe you don't) to be aware of my situation and experience with Gamblin Motors. Friday 21 & Saturday 22 I had been emailing Austin about a Grey GMC Yukon XL. We had agreed on price, over 20 text messages, phone calls and 20 plus emails (that's close to 50 points of communication.)I told him wife and I would be there 5:30pm Saturday to complete the deal. Once you guys agreed on the deal we proceeded to get ready, cleaned car, got baby sitter, CANCELED our fight part (Wilder vs Fury with over 20 people), drove 1 hour and 30 minutes toward your place of business. 5:30 comes and gps says 10 min, so I text Austin at 5:30pm exactly that we were 10 min out. He calls me after couple minutes "Bad news Jeremy- another salesman just sold car- they are in finance" I said are you serious? He said yeah "no deposit was made and its first come first serve" I hung up phone, turned around and drove another 1 hour and 30 minutes back home. First he NEVER told me either (and he is text says "yeah I should have told you about the deposit" and never first come first serve. now I understand that people can be flaky when buying/selling cars, but this was not that case- over 50 points of contact on communication is probably a pretty good sign that I am coming in (Even text him about finance and what I needed to bring while we were on the way up. I am just appalled that through all this I got the first come first serve line after everything we did to come up there to a "Family Owned" business, now I am a member of a family owned business and if this is how our business treated people I would want to know so I could address it with my employees & make sure that customer is taken care of- this was a horrible mistake on your part to allow this to happen and on top of that boss was fully aware and" if you have a problem with how business is dealt, call our storage and speak to a manager"-I have all text & emails saved as well to show- From them: Good morning. First of all I want to apologize how this was handled, this is not at all how we conduct business and I sincerely apologize for everything you just went through. I have forwarded this email on to Mr. Gamblin (who is out of town on business until the end of the week) as well as our sales managers, one being Mr. Gamblin's son. Took our truck we bought from them in for repair around April ,fuel line blew , we asked them about the pump and was told it was fine...paid $3500 to fix it only to have the same thing happened again less than 5 weeks later leaving us stranded on I5 with two kids and dirt bikes in the back! Now they want another $3000 to replace the pump.. we've gotten the run around.. originally said they would take care of us... Then it was $1200 for the part only... Now they offered to take $1000 off the labor leaving us with another $3000 not to mention they've had the truck 3 weeks now... So much for taking care of their customers!! read more

Recently purchased a 2012 Silverado 3500HD. Truck is in great shape and clean. I figured I would have to spend some money on new tires and odds and ends. It has 180,xxx miles. Since I bought it I've spent over $4,200 trying to fix issues. In the following days after purchasing it the check engine light came on, service emissions system lights. I own a concrete business and made this purchase to use for work. I am unable to use it to haul my dump trailer or to bring tools/materials to my sites. Still trying to get the issues resolved. Art Gamblin MotorsMotors is an old Enumclaw family business. The kind of place you would think you could bring your business and feel good about being taken care of. Think again. My family needed a reliable used minivan. My wife doesn't put many miles in and she volunteers for Puyallup Animal Rescue so it would take some abuse. We didn't mind a few warts we just needed something to serve the purpose. We found a 2005 Honda Odyssey at Gamblin Motors. We've had Hondas in the past and they have been reliable. Buying from a trustworthy family business seemed like the best way to mitigate the risk of buying a vehicle of that age. In full disclosure we purchased this vehicle as-is no warranty, understandable with a vehicle with 160K miles on it. What is not understandable to me is the following chain of events... * Nov 13, 2020 Purchase minivan- test drove well. 161,200 miles. Every system functioned well except one auto door lock. * Nov 14, 2020 Check engine light comes on. - scary but "probably just some emissions sensor or something" * Jan 6, 2021 After not driving it waiting to get the engine light checked - it won't start, dead battery already? * Jan 6, 2021 Purchase and install new Battery $170 - test drive - engine misfires badly and check engine is now blinking * Jan 14, 2021 Repair shop diagnoses misfire as bad coils. Finds mismatched coils. Different alloys with different conductivity 3 plugs white hot 3 plugs fouled. * Jan 14, 2021 Install 6 new coils and plugs $1200. - Drive out of parking lot, check engine light comes on. Driver side sliding door light on. Pull over and investigate... *Jan 14, 2021 Power doors stop working on both sides. Driver side sliding door won't latch at all for drive home. My daughter sat buckled in the back stopping it from slamming open and shut. * Jan 14, 2021 Repaired the latch- still reads as open on dash- no power doors at all. * Jan 20, 2021 Back to repair shop - fuel induction service to clear check engine light. -$250. Hoping driving it makes it better at this point. Nope still missing. * Feb 17, 2021 Door not fully closing drains battery even if the dome lights are switched off. It requires a jump every time despite a brand new battery. 161, 443 miles. So now, even if I wanted to ask my wife to drive around with the engine misfiring she couldn't because the door won't register as shut and the battery is always dead. We're not talking huge money here but, we made a decision to not get an auto loan and saved up to buy something outright. $4100 is what we paid and now we had to roll our stimulus into the repairs. It really feels desperate to be out that money after waiting and planning as we did. Right now I'm at $5750 for 243 miles of service and most of that was the repair shop . You would think Gamblin would have heard my story and felt like doing something about it. Maybe they would if they ever heard it. I let my salesman know about the problems and asked that he and his sales manager sit down with me and let me tell them my story. I was told the sales manager would call but, that call never came, much less a meeting. Please don't assume that you will get any different level of service on used vehicle purchase at Gamblin Motors then you would on Craigslist. I don't often ask but please share. read more

Pure Class. No pressure sales, they treated my friend and I like human beings and grown adults. Smooth process all around, and I left with the car I wanted for the price I wanted. And it only took about 2hours. Rick Kranz was my salesmen and I genuinely had a good car buying experience.
