So my friend and I were walking and looking for a small place that had a decent lunch and somehow we came across Art Lunch and stopped by.... Greeted by a gal when we came in we had a couple of questions and especially myself since I wanted something vegan and chose the vegan roll and she got the chicken and veggie lunch combo.... I have to say they give a lot for that lunch combo and I was surprised it was such a great deal the entree, a salad (not a cheapie salad) and a drink....the vegan roll was really fresh and good...I love when food is light and refreshing....We also had dessert (pastry) from the top of that glass shelf a slie of it and man it was really good too...Sorry not even sure what it is... The place is nicely decorated and just felt like it was such a welcoming vibe....I would've had some coffee drink but I really just had a latte before coming in! It looked like a small family run business and I asked the guy who helped us at the register and he said that it is family run, and they recently opened about 4 months ago... LOL I had the classic sandwich (ham & cheese), classic crossiant sandwich, avocado salad, caesar salad, cinnamon rolls, chocolate crossiant. The food was delicious and fresh! The sandwiches really filled you up, the bread was fresh and soft. I love the salads the most. Both avocado salad and caesar salad were very fresh. It's pleasant surprise for the avocado salad. The combo of avocado and cucumber is awesome! I didn't have this before, I could eat bowls of it. The caesar salad was great too, not overpower with cheese or dressing. Tomatoes and lettuces were juicy and crunchy. Cinnamon rolls were solid and dense, not dry. They were great with coffee or tea. Delicious, filling and looked like a work of art. I ordered the Armenian breakfast and a spinach cheese pie. The breakfast was the perfect early lunch! (I went around 11 am). Greens dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette, tender scrambled eggs, the best crispy on-the-outside / fluffy-on-the-inside potato wedges, slices of mild cheese, and two kinds of bread. I wish the breads had been warmed up a little more, so it could have that fresh from the oven feel, but they were yummy nonetheless. The puff pastry has a savory cream cheesy type filling that I liked. The breakfast was so filling I had to take the spinach cheese pie home, but I can't wait to try it. It was our first morning in Los Angeles and as we were driving through Old Town Pasadena looking for parking, we saw Art Lunch as we passed by. Found parking and walked to Art Lunch to try it out since it looked so nice from the street. My wife and I were so happy we stopped in for some breakfast and coffee, because it was such a relaxed calm atmosphere that I felt like it was my own home. The manager and employees were amazing and so hospitable. I only ordered a latte which was delicious, but my wifes Basturma Omlette (Armenian dish) was amazing. The plate presentation was so beautiful you didn't want to ruin it by eating it. They even presented us with a nice complimentary dessert at the end of our meal. Needless to say, they made us feel so welcome to be there that we will be returning again at least once more before our trip here is done. This is a gem of a place! Some of the dishes are a bit on the pricey side for lunch but they do have great and healthy options if you are on a budget. The hot food was great we got a breakfast platter and I got the salmon with mashed potatoes and a Greek salad. I loved the salad it was delicious and the salmon was greatly cooked.
