Finally stopped inside for the first time. I always drive by and I'm glad I did! This place is so cute. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor tables even had these wind chimes which were so calming. My barista turned out to be the owner Kelly. She was so sweet. I came in on a sunny afternoon so got some ice cream. My friend got a matcha that was so rich! I will definitely be back to this neighborhood gem and try out more of their drink & pastry menu.

Was greeted upon arrival! Quiet inside, a few individuals working on their computers. Ordered a matcha latte w ice. However, the quality of the matcha was not the best. I also do not like how the prices are not listed. Overall, would not return.

Such a cute neighborhood coffee shop, and its perfect for studying or getting work done. I tried their matcha protein smoothie and it was good. You can definitely taste the banana, protein powder and a hint of matcha. They have pastries for purchase too.

I pass by Charlie's Coffee House often but never stopped in. One day I was craving a scone, so I decided to give Charlie's a try. I parked in the lot (there is also free street parking) and when I walked in I noticed how bright and spacious it was. I could smell the freshly ground coffee and it was delightful. (They also have tea and smoothies.) All the pastries in the display case looked delicious and I was about to order my scone when I looked up and saw a New York Style Crumb Coffee Cake in a glass cake holder on top of the case. I absolutely love a good crumb coffee cake but they are hard to find in L.A. so I ordered that instead. The Barista was very polite and thanked me for my business before I left. I couldn't wait to get home to try the coffee cake. It was exactly what I had hoped for. The cake was moist and buttery. The crumb topping was soft and melts in your mouth. The powdered sugar topping added the right amount of sweetness. It reminded of the one I used to get from Entenmann's years ago but better. I am so glad I finally stopped here. I'm looking forward to trying their other baked goods and coffee. Tip: You can order online for pick-up.

A welcoming coffee/not coffee cafe.. friendly atmosphere - delicious almond croissant, and had a "Monkey shake" almond milk, peanut butter, banana, chocolate protein.. a boost of espresso extra - Yummie treat!

Great local coffee spot. Sometimes not consistent with the making of the drinks, but I'd say knocks it out of the park 90% of the time.

We tried some espresso tonics, cappuccino, non-caffeinated drinks, and matcha. No complaints from us with what we ordered. They also do some seasonal drinks. I went with the wildflower iced latte. The cashier said it was a good choice and I also asked someone in line. I thought it was delicious. It could have had more flavoring, but I definitely can tell that the ingredients were of quality. I also walked around and looked at the plants. Pricing was a bit high, but they were very gorgeous and the employee in that shop was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you stop by!

There were so many menu options that I honestly wish I had more time and more of an appetite to fully indulge and try more dishes. We were in a bit of a hurry. I tried the chilaquiles, which were quit filling. They were a different style than the traditional version. They used crispy tortilla chips similar to the kind you get in tortilla soup, which actually gave the dish a really good twist. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. The food overall was really good, and I especially enjoyed the latte because it wasn't overly sweet like a lot of places tend to make them. Overall, such a great little breakfast and coffee spot in Eagle Rock. I'll definitely be back when I have more time to explore more of the menu.

We ordered both the regular Halo Halo and the "Upside Down" Halo Halo. The regular version tasted like it had coffee ice cream, which completely threw me off. I kept wondering if I had been given the wrong order because it definitely wasn't the classic flavor I expected. The "Upside Down" Halo Halo was even more confusing, it looked exactly like a regular Halo Halo. For those unfamiliar with this Filipino dessert, the traditional Halo Halo has all the mix-ins at the bottom. So if you're going to call something "upside down," wouldn't it make sense for those ingredients to be on top? Just saying. There were other issues as well. Instead of traditional pinipig (toasted/puffed rice flakes), they used Frosted Flakes (the cereal!). The boba were scarce and hard, there were only a few strands of jackfruit, a sliver of flan, and coconut jellies. Most notably, it lacked classic ingredients like sweetened beans and macapuno that give authentic Halo Halo its signature flavor and texture. If you're looking for a traditional Halo Halo, this isn't it. I have to disagree with the claims that Cafe 86 serves the best Halo Halo, in my opinion, it's one of the worst I've had (with Manila Inasal's coconut milk version still being my least favorite). At $11.50 each, the portion size and quality simply don't justify the price. The Frosted Flakes didn't work for me, and what tasted like coffee ice cream completely changed the dessert's flavor profile. The problem with many modern dessert shops is that they try to reinvent traditional favorites for the mainstream but end up losing the essence of what made them special in the first place. Authentic Halo Halo is all about the balance of classic ingredients and textures, and this version missed the mark. Would I come back? Never. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not. If you're craving a more traditional Halo Halo, I'd recommend heading to Max's in Glendale instead.
