I went on a Saturday morning, and it was busy. Luckily, I was able to get a seat immediately after picking up my drink. I got the putu, and it was good. I would come back to try their other drinks. They have a large variety to pick from on their menu. The interior design is nice.
A very retro Indonesian coffee gem! If you are looking for an incredible study spot or a completely unique caffeine fix for a nice sip bev, this place is a must visit! They serve original Indonesian specialty coffee in LA, and the quality of their craft really shines through. Their Ice Putu is a must try. If you are a bit less adventurous, the Kopichino is a great option. To pair with any of the drinks, honestly I'd recommend the Pandan Chiffon cake! The parking is a breeze because there is a massive public structure right behind the shops. It is only a minute walk at most. Their service has always been a great part of the visit. They ask all the question and provide very good guest forward satisfaction.
Small Malaysian coffee shop located in the heart of the Alhambra downtown area. The vibe inside the shop has kind of a vintage feel butthe drinks and treats are unmistakenly Malaysian. The service here is also very friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering one of their seasonal beverages (4/2026). I believe it was the Meloti over Crema. Delicious and it hit the spot. I also got a slice of the pandan cake to snack on. Also, very good. I really like the spot and hope to come back soon
Friendly barista with fast service. Coffee is the smoothest I've had and had awesome foam that was perfectly sweet (Horlicks). Highly recommend!
I got the kopichino and talam ubi. The kopichino was pleasant without an overpowering espresso taste/caffeine effect (I have relatively low caffeine tolerance). I also though the talam ubi was nice, it was a bit more savory than sweet. One order of talam ubi comes with two pieces. This cafe has thoughtful decor and a good amount of tables to come to study/do work. The staff are fast and nice too.
Uncle Fung has great tasting coffee drinks and they don't taste watered down unlike many places. I ordered the coco cloud and talam ubi and my friend ordered the guava hojicha. The coco cloud tasted delicious and tasted strong but the effects of it weren't strong. I feel like I didn't get the caffeine I needed from it, kinda felt like the energy I would get from boba milk tea, hence the four stars. The guava hojicha was also decent, the guava cream top had a fragrant guava flavor. When combined, it tasted extra roasty/grassy. The talam ubi tasted interesting. It had a jelly like texture and was a combination between slightly sweet and salty. It had an egg yolk flavor and a coconut cream flavor. Service was excellent. There is some seating inside the coffee shop! Parking is also located in the back parking structure.
Awesome coffee shop - ordered the putu (pandan coffee), a double matcha, their seasonal lattes (dirty longan latte and matcha cream top with wintermelon tea) Each drink was made well and I can see myself visiting again. Their dessert shelf looked delicious and filled with other pandan goodies.
Finally got to try Uncle Fung Coffee Stall and it did not disappoint. One thing I like here is the decor and look. The store has an old look that makes a look like an old Chinese coffee shop. Even some of the light ing is low with age brick look. When I went on Sunday they had good foot traffic, but it wasn't packed which made it perfect for staying a while. I had the dirty Milo drink and pandan latte. Both were excellent and had a nice tasty cream top. Both are good options if you want something safe that you more than likely will like. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their signature coffee drinks.

Service was great thankfully I didn't have to wait for the drinks once I was there. Parking is tricky but I parked in the shopping center across the street and just walked over.
I've heard about this place for a while now but just tried for the first time!! I looooove an interesting coffee shop and this one with Indonesian fusion flavors was on my list :) The Putu ($8)-- Lots of pandan flavor, cream top is nice and thick and doesn't melt easily, however reallyyyyy weak coffee taste. I got half sweet but could probably go down to quarter sweet next time. Because of the weak coffee taste it's just like sweet pandan milk? But the pandan is SUUUPER nice and fragrant like they did not skimp out on the pandan at all. If you've never had pandan I guess I'd describe it as a really fragrant Asian vanilla? It smells really good. Don't let the green scare you! And it's absolutely nothing like matcha-- it's just a sweetener. Tried a sip of the Dirty Milo (hot) and that was really good too but regular sugar is just way, wayyyy too sweet. It's like Asian flavors but American level sweetness here. Love the Asian fusion flavors as a concept though and am curious about other flavors! Wish the coffee was stronger is all. Will be back to try more things and maybe some pastries next time!
i ordered the horlicks artisinal kopi ($8) to relive nostalgia but was handed a transcendental experience instead? the horlicks cream top complimented the single origin espresso EXCEPTIONALLY well. i savored every drop of this drink! there was no line when i arrived around 11 am on a saturday, so i received my order startlingly quickly. my number was called just as i was about to sit down at a table. numerous tables are available for patrons to sit and study or chat, but the space can feel a bit narrow when a long line starts to form in the early afternoon. there is one unisex restroom located in the back.
Around 10:30 am. No line yet. Yaay. I even got a table to sit down and enjoy my drinks. Drinks came out fairly fast. Like always, staff were all friendly. got my putu, this time I got it hot. Then the other one.. cant remember what its called but the first one. It honestly tasted just like melted kopiko. Lol. Better stick with the milo and putu.

The other pastries on display also looked delicious! service: (5/5) The place was fairly busy but the barista took their time explaining the menu. parking: (5/5) Large free lot across the street, otherwise street parking. overall: The drink was delicious and I would come back to try others!

Right next door, find Uncle Fung Coffee Stall, his daughter's tribute to her Indonesian roots. Here, relax in the retro-modern space and enjoy coffee and tea with an Indonesian flair. The vibe feels timeless. The paint-speckled brick walls and polished tiled floors starkly contrast the heirloom porcelain and framed Indonesian memorabilia. Small square tables and metal chairs are crammed into the narrow space. Close to opening, seats are plentiful, and serene pop blends with the espresso machine; later in the morning, the air is filled with chatter, and the queue stretches to the door. Of the drinks, our go-to has been The Putu, a pandan-forward latte that isn't too sweet. But don't sleep on the Indonesian pastries. I particularly enjoyed the Dadar Gulung, a vibrant green pandan crepe filled with sweet coconut. The scarlet, tortoise-shaped Angku Kueh is stuffed with an addictive mung bean filling. The Talan Ubi sweet potato-and-coconut treats tasted like fall. The Kueh Lupis, a sticky rice triangle with a side of palm sugar syrup, sports a spot-on Q texture, but is one-dimensional in flavor. Service is friendly and efficient. Pastries cost about ~$3-5, while specialty beverages run in the $7-8 range. The location is stellar (just steps away from the Alhambra Farmers Market), and the coffeehouse fare is uniquely crave-worthy. In all, Uncle Fung is a key member of Alhambra's specialty coffee scene, and it cracks my regular rotation. read more
We were looking for refreshing drinks after we had dinner. Uncle Fung Coffee Stall were within our walking distance. The place has cozy vibes. It was well lit. The menu includes variety of matcha drinks, tea, coffee, Artisanal kopi, seasonal, and desserts. We ordered two iced putu. Putu has pandan, palm sugar, espresso, milk of choice and coconut cream top. So, we ordered one with regular milk and the second with oat milk. The drink was very rich in flavor and refreshing. I really enjoyed the well balanced of pandan, espresso and the coconut cream foam. It was excellent! We also ordered Putu Ayu, Chiffon pandan and banana bread. The putu Ayu was outstanding. The chiffon pandan was very fluffy, fragrant and freshly baked. Banana bread was moist and rich in flavor. The staff were very nice. The service was fast. We enjoyed our drinks and desserts. We really had a great time. read more
We visited Uncle Fung around 2 pm and our drinks came out within just a few minutes of ordering, despite there only seeming to be two or three people working at the time. We ordered the Putu and Dirty Milo. Both were really solid, but the Putu was easily the standout for me. The flavors worked so well together without being overly sweet, and the coffee itself was nice and strong. I also really liked the atmosphere inside. There's a good amount of seating, although most of it was occupied by people studying or chatting when we visited. The space is pretty dark, which adds to the cozy vibe, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning to come here to study or read. There's parking in the structure behind the cafe, and you can easily walk through the back alley to get to the shop. Overall, I really enjoyed Uncle Fung. The drinks, especially the Putu, were memorable, and this is easily one of the best Indonesian coffee shops I've been to in California. I'd definitely come back! read more

coffee was great! you can really taste the quality of it. i got the seasonal special "dirty longan latte" -- i do think the flavor could've been a bit stronger. also got the banana bread -- this was quite dry but flavor was good nice spot to study/do work! there aren't a ton of tables available but decent amount. unfortunately there aren't outlets available so come with fully charged devices haha read more
Came here with a friend on a Friday morning and had such a nice, chill experience. Uncle Fung is a super cute little coffee spot with a cozy vibe and a small selection of homemade pastries. We ordered the putu and a dirty Milo. The putu was definitely our favorite, the coconut pandan cream on top was so good and really made it stand out. The dirty Milo was solid too, just not quite as memorable in comparison. I already had breakfast before coming, so I didn't get to try their pandan chiffon cake, but it looked really good and I'd come back for it. It's a great place to study or just hang out for a bit. The baristas were really friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time there. Parking was easy too. There's a free lot in the back and also a free public parking structure on First Ave, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a solid spot if you're in the area and want something a little different from your usual coffee run. read more
This place is usually pretty busy and rightfully so, considering the unique menu and cute, colorful decor reminiscent of colonial SE Asia. Not the biggest menu but a nice curated selection, including pastries. The Putu is a popular pandan inspired coffee drink, which I've tried twice. There are other tropical drinks with coconut and also matcha. I see people with their laptops working at the small tables, so I guess it's great for that, too. Overall not cheap compared to Starbucks but probably a better value for something more unique! read more

It's a fairly small cafe. Very popular. It was very crowded when I was there. All the tables were taken and barely a spot to stand to wait for my order. Interior decor is Asian retro. Pretty cool vibes. Menu is quite unique with its flavors. I tried the iced putu and the chiffon pandan and talam ubi. The desserts were en pointe with the flavors and textures. The coffee was not bad either. I could taste the panda flavor despite the coffee being a bold taste. Staff was pleasant. read more
Their cny cold brew is soo good. I wished this was a permanent addition. It was fruity and had an edible dried peach. Would have to wait until next year to see if they bring it back. Hopefully i get a smooth, peaceful year after drinking it. Also Got the uji matcha and it was good. I just hate the straw it comes with cause you can barely get any liquids even after using all your strength to inhale in. read more
Putu coffee: if you're not used to drinking coffee on the daily this was pretty strong for me that I was still wide awake throughout the night. I can see why it's one of their most popular drinks. The pandan and coffee complimented each other so much with a smooth nutty and aromatic mixture together. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in the 626. This is a Malaysian/Indonesian coffee shop that brings unique modern coffee drinks to the area. It's a great place to study and get some work done. The interior has really cool decorations including old magazine prints on the wall. It feels familiar and welcoming at the same time. There's plenty of parking in the structure located behind the shop. D1 customer service for sure. One of the baristas made me the wrong drink, so she remade it promptly. Upon my next visit, she gave me a coffee on the house. All the drinks I tried were solid. The pastries are a bit dry though. The drink menu has really good variety. Iced Americano, 9/10: Can't go wrong. Not too bitter. Smooth. Tasted some fruity berry notes in their espresso. Putu, 8/10: A little too sweet for me. The pandan is a nice touch. Coco cloud, 9/10: Coffee and coconut pair really well together and the chocolate adds a bit of depth and richness to the drink. It's a treat for sure. read more
This place is so thoughtfully designed! I love the charming retro details throughout--from the small bicycle ornaments on the shelves above the counter, to the scrapbook-style artwork on the walls, to the carefully curated vintage furniture pieces. It brought back a wave of nostalgia, reminding me of my trip to Malaysia many years ago. They have 3 types of ceremonial grade matchas sourced from different regions with varying flavor notes. I tried the mid-tier priced matcha ($8.50) which was described on the menu as "mild umami, floral, nutty, toasted". It was solid. My friend got the matcha cloud which has coconut water instead of milk - my first time trying this variation and I didn't think I'd like it but the combo works surprisingly well. Def want to go back to try other coffee drinks especially the Putu (Pandan Latte) and Dirty Milo as well as their pastries! read more

i find myself coming back to uncle fung every time to try their unique and seasonal drinks! they incorporate asian/indonesian flavors (e.g milo, horlick, longan) into their coffee and it brings me back to fond childhood memories :) dirty longan latte, 25% sweet (7/10) - espresso + milk + longan honey. seasonal. has some nostalgic chinese herbal flavors. im not a huge fan of honey in coffee, so im a bit biased. horlicks coffee (7/10) - nostalgic flavors, and i never tried a coffee like this. i want to try their hojicha + guava cream top (seasonal) next time. they really put effort into the interior decor, as walking into the coffee shop really immerses you to a new space as you enjoy a cup of coffee~ read more
Malaysian & Indonesian inspired beverages. It's a cozy and cute cafe. They offer few small pastries options. On weekdays till 12pm is where the kitchen open. I'd have to come back on a weekday to get the Kaya toast. Service is great! I got a Hojicha latte and it was too watered down for my liking and they exchanged to Putu for me. Which has stronger flavor. read more
I don't like matcha I have always hated it and I LOVED theirs omg I did order the putu for myself and it is SO GOOD omg and the rigole tastes like a chicken pot pie croquette but vegetarian friendly Outlets and nice jazz music not too loud so in love I despise when they play music and it is not the mood I'm going for this is neutral and !! CNY pear cold brew. SOOO good please dont miss this, I hope you see my review before its gone because you must get it. So refreshing and beautifully infused with pear. This made my whole day! I saw a few indonesian/south east asian pastries (please correct if im wrong) and other bakes available and definitely going to try them next time. Cashiers/baristas were very friendly and jokey :) there was a line to the door on a sunday afternoon. small little place with not too many seating. luckily theres stools available so you can suit yourself by sitting against the wall with no tables which was what we did haha read more

Made it out to Uncle Fong to get some work done while being in the area. It's a very vibey coffee shop with just enough seats to get some work done. This coffee shop is next to a high school, so I don't know how busy they can get. I got The Putu which is according to their website a "Single Origin espresso, milk of choice, pandan, palm sugar, coconut cream top". Would I get it again? As a treat? Absolutely yes. The drink is $8. I also got a pandan chiffon cake I believe? It wasn't too sweet and just tasted like a pound cake. Great coffee shop in Alhambra. read more
I m not sure what's going on with this place. I m pretty sure when this place just opened, I had the Putu. At that time, I thought it was pretty good. Today, I decided to come back for it again. The gal mentioned that hot would be a good choice. I m still recovering so since the gal mentioned that hot was good, I decided to get the hot for me and the iced one for my nephew. Maybe it was a mistake to get it hot. It tasted gross. The flavor was not the same. It tasted a lot like food coloring pandan. My nephew said his was disgusting. Basing on the past photo and the current, the color looked different. Not to mention, the wait for the drinks was pretty long. My sch kinda got messed up because the drinks took forever. Not a big deal since there was no urgency to what I needed to do. However, they should speed things up. So many people were waiting on the drinks. read more
What a treasure in Alhambra! This place has amazing Asian/ Indonesian inspired matchas and coffees, and little treats as well. I ordered the double matcha which was strong and delicious, and a pandan coffee which was also strong and delicious. Treats were tasty and not too sweet. I love the ambiance of this place as well with its Indonesian vintage posters and paintings all around the store. I love finding such qualities places like this so I am super stoked!! I love that when you enter, you are immersed with the smell of fresh coffee. Their tables are placed around perimeter of the store, ideal for parties of 2-4. Good little study spot with wifi and light 80-90s Chinese music. Came on a Sunday morning and my drink was ready in ~10 mins. The dirty Milo had the perfect combination of creamy and salty from the cream top, sweetness from the condensed milk and slight bitterness from the espresso. I'd say $8 for this decently sized drink is worth it to me because it's something I would come back for! Would also love to try their other artisanal kopi next time!! First initial thought, it was decorated nicely inside! We ordered the dirty milo & melati over crema and we were very impressed with the tastes of our coffee! Our drinks came out within 5 mins of ordering and we are excited to come back to try more drinks! read more
Stopped in after lunch after fellow Yelper Ian A. recommended this spot for coffee. It's a cute space located in between Borneo and Saigon Eden serving up unique Kopi (Malay for coffee) and ceremonial grade matcha drinks. There are also Malay & Indo style sweet snacks/pastries for sale. I was still really full from lunch so I didn't get any of those. I glanced at the menu and saw The Putu - a latte with pandan and a coconut cream top and I knew had to have it. I asked the employee what she recommended, and she suggested The Putu as well, so it confirmed my choice! It only comes with either whole milk or oat milk. I usually prefer almond milk for my lattes, but she said they couldn't make it with almond for whatever reason. I asked for no ice as I was on my way home and was planning on drinking most of it tomorrow, so I didn't want it watered down. The drink is not only beautiful but super tasty too! I love the combo of the espresso with the pandan and the coconut cream was perfection. The atmosphere here is super relaxing, there were several people here working/studying. There aren't a ton of tables available so if you plan on studying, it's first come first serve. Enjoy! read more
