Spare yourself the an hourlong headache as you finally hang up with the lady as she keeps saying: "the keys are currently out of stock, sir, i can take your information and contact you when we get more of them--" 3) call Mercedes corporate classic cars outta Irvine- another dead end. 4) Call merz corporate in germany, same damn answer as option 1. 5) Service Dept at Merz dealershit might suggest having car towed there for them to look at it. Don't. They won't do anything. 6) You can spend a couple hours/days/weeks trying to find a locksmith who will do an older merz, and when you finnaly find Artemis, and he meets you at the merz dealership, and helps you Push your mercedes off their goddamn lot into the street becuase they won't let us "work" on the vehicle while on their outdoor lot (keeping in mind they wont even make a key for their product). He was able to come out and make 2 new Range Rover smart keys and their hidden special physical key for less than the dealer wanted for 1 smart key and they wanted extra to program it. He was very clean and cautious with the car while he disassembled it to get to the hidden computer and was very good putting it back together. He showed us that all the buttons on each key functioned and that the physical keys work. Great guy, will use again if we need to and will definitely recommend. read more

Absolutely the best deal in town, not sure if you know how much it costs to make a Mercedes sl500 key, but lets just say it's not something you want to go to the dealer for especially when you have a down to earth dude like Artemis with amazing prices that comes to you and handles his job with the quickness. After the airline lost my keys I explored several options for getting my car back online. Either tow the car to the dealership and have them re-key the smart keys (it would take a long time and was expensive) or find a mobile locksmith. I chose the latter and found Ian. He answered the phone promptly, listened to what I needed, set a very convenient time, and kept in contact with me til he arrived at the parking garage. I could not be happier as I was stressed. He explained the options and cost. As someone had boxed me in on the driver's side it made getting into the car more difficult. Ian was able to open the car and start re-keying the car. He was efficient, capable, courteous, and quick. In less than an hour he was finished (all his tools are with him) and I was on my way. Whoa, this was pretty epic service. This guy created a car key for us when we lost our original. Charged us $320 and within 3 years, the key has stopped working and all of the buttons have stopped functioning. We have never experienced the buttons on a car key to stop functioning ever, much less in 3 years. We called him today to ask why this was happening and he said his guarantee is only for 30 days and started yelling and being irate about why we were calling 3 years later. We could have had a key replacement at Lexus directly for $400 and instead went with this this guy which turned out to be a grave mistake. Low end, low quality, no service and really nasty awful guy. I called Ian about getting a key cut for my Ford truck. He quoted me $85 and said he could come by that afternoon. After rescheduling and finally arriving around 9pm, he performed the service. He then tried to charge me $110. When I asked why it was more than he quoted, he mentioned there was an additional service fee. When I pressed him further to understand where this service fee came from, he provided a vague yet abrupt answer about how this is just how much these services cost and that I was getting a good deal. My family was waiting for me and I wasn't in the mood to argue, so I signed the bill. Later, I text him that he should only have charged me what he quoted me. He agreed to refund me the difference. A few hours later he text me that he can't figure out how to do partial refunds, but to keep in mind for future service. He seems to be a competent locksmith, but apparently may not honor his quoted price. read more

If you're looking for a guy to come out at his leisure, overcharge you by more than twice his quote, and then explain to you that there is no such thing as a flat rate... then please, call this service. In 15 minutes he completed the work, and then told me that to replace the ignition switch cost $330. When I asked him why, he proceeded to tell me all about how there is no transparency in his business; that he charges whatever he wants "by the job". He wouldn't disclose the cost of the parts, or anything for that matter... compared what he does to how the state charges taxes. When I pointed out that State Tax rates a clearly assigned, he told me that what he charges could be compared to the cable service I pay for; that fees are hidden all over the place. I pointed out that cable companies have an obligation to notify me of all fees... and that his comparisons were like "apples to oregano". He offered me absolutely no explanation, and told me that I was paying him for his years of training and expertise. I would NEVER recommend him, or any third party agent associated with his business-- it has SCAM written all over it. read more
