We celebrated my daughter's birthday there and everyone enjoyed their first experience in a Studio setting!! The kids ranged from 6 to 13 in age. Everyone was able to follow the step by step instructions and follow along with the teacher as she painted. She was a great teacher who was very knowledgeable and kind. I also liked that they kept cups, utensils, and wine openers there for us to use. I would advise you to get there early if you want to put up decorations and set up the table. Also if you're having drinks, get them out before you start painting otherwise you may have to catch up to where everyone is at in painting. After we finished painting, we had pizza and cupcakes. Everyone was happy with their painting! Even my son with Autism painted and sometimes did not follow the instructions but made his very own masterpiece! It was fun and relaxing! read more

I had the best time at this class! I honestly did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did, but Steve and Maggie were awesome instructors. Also, I had great company and wine, lol! This was such a great experience. This is the third painting night I did this summer, all with groupons. 2 of them were in NYC at bars, so the downside of the Hoboken studio is you have to bring your own drinks, with is also a positive. There was a lot more room at the warehouse in Hoboken to paint, you didn't feel like you were squished and it was very clean. I painted Starry Night and at first I was feeling overwhelmed I didn't know how I was going to paint it. When you walked in there was a paper over the board so we could trace the outlines of a lot of the main shapes, so it was a little more manageable. Then it was up to you what colors you wanted to paint where; the artist gave you basic colors (dark blues, purple, or light green, etc) but you decided how to blend the colors. One of the other classes I went to was more structured and told you exactly paint half of it blue then put light blue on the top, so you could put your own touch on the painting. ArteVino is awesome! I hosted my best friend's bachelorette party at ArteVino and they were more than accommodating! We were able to bring in wine and snacks. The instructor was more than helpful and gave us 1:1 attention. We were able to order a nude model to surprise the bachelorette and it was a huge success! So my painting skills definitely waned towards the end of the 3 hour session. I'm not sure it was because of the effort or the drinks. But all in all, I have to say it was a pretty unique spin on girls' night out. FYI, there were mostly females at my session and a handful of guys that looked like they were dragged along for a date night. The atmosphere was fairly relaxed, and everyone's tongues were pretty well lubricated throughout the evening so I even had some fun with painters that weren't in my own group. I admit I felt a bit intimidated at the beginning, having absolutely no artistic ability whatsoever, but the instructor was chill, there was absolutely no pressure to be perfect. I did my best and I was able to create something that looked pretty similar to the sample piece and something I felt oddly proud of in the end. So if you're still thinking about attending, definitely go, bring a bottle of wine, don't take yourself too seriously, and you'll have a great time. read more

I love painting, and the fact that it's bring your own booze, makes this experience 100% awesome-er! My sister and I bought the Groupon and it wasn't that pricey which was good. When we got there everything was already set up, the easel, paint and our individual canvases. The instructor was amazing! He was very attentive and friendly. We were instructed to get an apron and choose any seat of our liking. We chose the front. It started promptly at 7:00pm, and the instructor took his time, came around, asked if anyone needed help. He went step by step; so it was great for beginners as well as advance painters. My sister & I followed the same instructor yet our paintings were completely different and unique; which makes this experience something I'll cherish forever! Most amazing experience ever. The instructor was the greatest! We had arrived late due to traffic. He was very patient about it, I had asked him if we were able to use the tickets purchase that was not being used to add an extra 30 mins. He went above and beyond to assist me with this. I held a birthday party here and it went off smoothly. The venue is cute and there's room for your own decorations, food and drinks. The instructor was very engaging and helpful to all. Arte Vino is the perfect BYOB painting spot! I had an EXCELLENT time. My instructor (MAGGIE! She's the best.) was super fun, kept up with our slightly rowdy group, and made the steps easy and clear, she gets an A+++++. The building itself is kind of huge, but if you try and find the main entrance theres a directory with the rooms and floors listed by business, helped me get in. Thank you for a fun afternoon of painting! Our instructor, Maggie, was professional, helpful and friendly. We started on time, despite missing a few participants who had not arrived yet. I appreciated this because I had a train to catch after the event, so going late would have been a problem for me. She did a good job of catching the latecomers up without making the rest of us wait. When giving instructions, she urged us not to rush if we were a step behind. She encouraged us to wash out our water cup or get new brushes whenever needed and several times supplied us with more paper towels. I just came here for the first time wondering how it would be. And I thought it was great! I went by myself and the experience was great. The instructor Steven was professional, knowledgeable, and very informative about the painting and took it step by step while also giving us the freedom to create our own version. I am a perfectionist so it was very hard to see my painting not coming out the way Steven's or the original was but he was very assuring and made sure we all knew that however it came out it was our own version of the piece and that it was okay if it was different. Steven was very energetic and had a great sense of humor which I appreciate greatly. I definitely am now thinking of having a private event here for my birthday and requesting Steven. I went there on a Friday night for a 7-9 PM painting class. I have to admit, the place exceeded expectations. The instructor was incredibly nice and helpful, and we came away with some really nice paintings. The only downside was that the instructor had no control over the room. Half the time you couldn't hear him because an obnoxious group of girls were drunk and loud, and he never tried to get them to quiet down. Obviously being a Friday night at a BYO place this can be expected, but the instructor needs to do a better job of managing the classes. read more

I came here for my first Yelp event and I am glad I did. For one, this is a great alternative to every other basic activity to do on a date or with friends (i.e.; clubbing, bar hopping, bed hopping, you get my gist) It is a cool spot to be creative, drink some wine and catch up with friends. Warning: you have to put down your phone and INTERACT with REAL LIVE PEOPLE to get the best experience in this place. If you can get past that one downside, then you will love this place. The artists were very detailed and patient with everyone's lack of talent and still made you feel like you created a Monet. The place is spacious and there is tons of art work hanging up. There is tons of supplies around for everyone and a little shopping corner to purchase little odds and ends. The best part of this place: BYOB!!! Painting and getting your buzz on?? sign me up!! My own complaint is how hard it was to find the place. They don't have a sign or anything to let you know that you have arrived at your destination. What an awesome experience! I purchased a groupon for a 2-hour BYOB painting class for the same day. I ended up paying $15 extra because they had a 3 hour class the night I went for Monet's Waterlilies. I knew places like this get booked pretty fast so I was fortunate enough to get myself and couple of friends signed up on their website an hour before the class. We were about 20 minutes late but turned out it wasn't a biggie. It was my very first painting experience so it was a tiny bit stressful but overall it was a very casual, relaxed, and fun environment. Our awesome instructor guided us step by step but he let us do pretty much whatever we wanted. The place was a little bit hard to find. It's located on the third floor of an unnamed, sketchy-like building in Hoboken, but the actual room is big enough to accomodate about 40 people. They provided us with everything, even cups and wine bottle openers for our drinks. I would definitely come back to try other paintings. Highly recommended! read more

Had a wonderful time here back in January and never got around to writing a review. The location was a little tricky to find, but you can't lose on a BYOB paint night with a wine store downstairs. Parking was decent, although it was on the street so if you have a night planned make sure you give yourself plenty of time to look for a spot. I brought my own wine, but I think they actually had a couple of bottles open. The ambiance is fairly relaxed, with paintings from former sessions adorning the walls. We left there feeling like we could really paint lol lol Ours was a tricky painting too (Monet's water lilies), but the host was quite supportive and friendly. Maybe a tad bit more instruction would have been helpful, according to my friend, but after a couple of glasses of wine, I really wasn't paying much attention anyway lol Overall, if you're interested in a paint and wine night, this is a fun spot to check out. read more

I tried ArteVino for the first time as an elite for a yelp event, and I definitely picked the right one! I was not disappointed at all. Yes the studio may be difficult to find but I am someone that has frequently visited the Monroe Center numerous times before. And I am happy for the new addition that ArteVino provides. The experience couldn't have gone better Steph is always a great host and makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome, as well as our two instructors. They were very attentive and informative, if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask. What I love most is they don't make you feel as though you need to have an artistic background to be capable to participate, as an artist myself I frown upon others that put people down in that type of way. And they encourage creativity...a MAJOR PLUS!!! The step by step instruction was very clear and understanding so trust me anyone can get it. I recently attended a class here with my sister to celebrate her birthday. When we arrived to the class, there was 20+ kids in the class as well. My sister is a mother of 3 children with a full time job. I wanted to treat her to a relaxing time as she had never attended a paint and sip event. However, she wasn't able to do that because during the entire class there were children yelling and walking around throughout the room. This is unacceptable and just wished that they had informed us on the calendar upon registering for this class. If I knew there was going to be children mixed with adults, I would've registered for a different class or a different location. I was highly upset about this matter being that it was for my sister's birthday celebration and not being able to receive some time away from children. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Luckily, we had one of the best teachers in the studio. She was funny and was able to connect and help all the painters in the room (even the damn kids). She was fantastic! Because of her, my sister and I were able to tune out the kids and enjoy her teaching. Tip: Before booking, please contact them to make sure there isn't going to be 20+ kids running around screaming so you can enjoy this event peacefully while sipping on your wine. read more

We had such a blast! My mom and I went with a group of about 10 ladies as part of a bigger class. The room was full with about 30 people & our instructor, Steve, lead all by himself. He did an amazing job. Some of the people were a little loud, but he kept going & used his strong voice to carry over the room. He was helpful, without being too much in everyone's business. He kept the mood light & the music was great too. We picked the Van Gogh Wheat Field which was really difficult, but Steve broke it down & helped you feel like you could do it. Everyone's turned out great. Such a blast. Only con is it can be hard to find the 1st time, especially at night. The buildings aren't well marked. read more
