A great place in an unlikely spot: an old Abbott's in a plaza that has seen better days. Lovely people and good food. We found them because our regular spot for safe gluten-free food was temporarily closed and we just keep going back. They have gluten-free pastries including apple fritters--a must try! Would love to see more vegetarian options show up, but they are very agreeable and understanding if you request light cheese or no cheese. It had been years since we tried Arthur Jaxon but my boyfriend had gotten a recommendation about their pulled chicken garbage plate. The pulled chicken was so good! Very smoky, not dry, very good portion size! The overall garbage plate was pretty good. The salt potatoes were a little more like soft, butter-soaked potatoes. The bbq baked beans were good. The combo of the bbq beans with the pulled chicken is quite sweet. Next time I would try another side. The corn muffin isn't bad but would be more flavorful if I stopped to dab some sweet cream butter on it. My boyfriend tried the brisket. It had a nice smokiness to it but was a little chewy/ dry. My boyfriend smokes bbq as a hobby, so he might be a little more particular than some. Something that I want to rave about is the hand-breaded cauliflower bites. I've never gotten these before. They reminded me of pan-fried treats that my Italian grandparents used to make around the holidays. They were crispy and delicious. The sauce on the side was welcome so I could enjoy them just how I wanted them. If they are supposed to be a substitute for chicken wings....well I don't know about that. Second order from jaxon. Drove by there the other day and it looks like an old Carvel ice cream stand. I can't believe they produce such awesome food!!! Ordered the calzone again as it is one of the best in rochester. The crust isn't super thick but holds up and tastes delicious. It does it job. Hold the wonderful fillings. The cheese! Awesome! High quality. Long stringy, def best quality. And they don't skimp on the fillings. I can't imagine ordering a calzone from anywhere locally again. And thats coming from. Super ginzo greece! Also got wings which were good. And a couple of cookies for dessert. All top shelf! Hope they stick around a good long time! read more

With a lot of good pizza competition in the area (Carbone's, Tom & Nancy's, Perri's, Gallo's, Old Italy, etc), I had no idea that this place existed. Discovered them through a Groupon-type offer. I love deals, and loved that there might be a new place with great food nearby that I could frequent. Menu prices looked reasonable. Placed an order online. The first thing that I noticed, is that their ordering site doesn't provide an estimated time for pickup. Large cup and char pepperoni pizza $8.99, garlic knots $4.99, Mac Salad $2.50, and potato wedges $2.75. With tax, came to $20.77 - so I would only owe .77 after the offer that I purchased. Staff seemed friendly. Then things became weird when I pulled out my offer. Suddenly, the prices changed, and they wanted $10 more in cash? This basically nullified the offer that I purchased. They claimed that my $8.99 pizza wasn't covered, even though it's an "everyday offer" in print on their menu (not a coupon). Even after changing the price of the pizza to $14.99, the math made no sense. Not sure how $15 + $5 + $2.50 + $2.50 came to $31. With tax, should have been $27. Savvy employees would have honored the original pricing, especially after I let them know that I was looking for a new local business to frequent, and just informed me that in the future the "everyday offers" wouldn't be included. Maybe they needed the extra money in sacrifice of future orders? Onto the food. The pizza itself was actually quite delicious, despite the order being wrong. They had an option for asiago cheese, but this pizza definitely had mozzarella instead. I would have certainly ordered more pizzas in the future...it WAS good. Somewhat thin, but perfect crust and plenty of pepperoni! The mac salad was pretty good. Tasted homemade. The garlic knots were a miss. Another screwup in the order. I asked for a side of garlic sauce, but I was given what I assumed to be marinara, which I am not a fan of. The knots didn't have any actual garlic on them. I am guessing they were made with a garlic butter, but the taste of garlic was not prevalent. The potato wedges were decent. I'd say above average. I would have loved to come back and try more menu items and other pizzas and ice cream, but the mix up with the money is a major no-no in my book, especially considering the strong competition in the area. Buffalo chicken wing pizza it did not have blue cheese on a pizza was pretty good even the next day. Even when I heated the pizza up in the microwave is still tasted pretty good the next day too. I got a McFlurry with maple walnut and rainbow sprinkles Holy Cannoli they give you alot. my boyfriend got cup peanut butter cup milkshake. that was pretty good bit of milkshake also would definitely recommend definitely go there again It might look like a Shack but don't judge a book by its cover. Stop in one day you will be surprised. The food was gone before I could even take a picture. It was tht good. Give it a try some time. read more

Cute stand with a yummy pepperoni slice and endless Perry's Ice Cream flavours. A small cup for $2.75 is PLENTY. I recommend the Peanut Butter & Bon Bons. Soo yummy. The chocolate almond is also very good, but beware that it is dark chocolate, so not for the sweet of tooth. Service is a bit slow, but the product over weighs that negative. And kudos for delivering pizza AND ice cream! Would give it 5 stars if they delivered wine...I am half kidding. read more

Despite the delivery took close to 2 hours and the food was stone cold the food was very good! Reheated the pulled pork was delicious, the baked beans were good and the mac salad was very good as well. The corn muffin was to die for!
