Oreo Vanilla Shake & Vanilla Custard Cone
    Racquel E.

My parents use to bring our family to Abbott's Frozen Custard when we were kids, and I always loved their vanilla custard. This was my daughter's first visit, and she enjoyed a delicious Oreo vanilla shake. As usual, the line was long, but it was well worth the wait.

Great spot to get ice cream after dinner. The single cone is very generous and the chocolate almond was highly recommended to me. Service is quick and it was a popular spot at night.

Definitely a must stop while at the waterfront. Exceptional custard with a true creamy flavor. Me like.

I'm going to Abb-andon my inh-Abb-itions and bl-Abb about this place a bit. What to get: Vanilla Custard or Lemon Sorbet What else: Well all the custards are amazing Anything else?: We are spirits in the material world are spirits If I didn't eat this damn custard so much, you'd be able to see my Abbs. This is the original location of Abbott's, which is pretty awesome because it's such a wonderful chain that is all over Western NY now, and thrilling kids and grownups and Starlight alike. You know which character from NCIS eats here? Abb-y. This particular location has no indoor seating, so you have to get your custard from the window and then eat it on outside benches or in your car and so on. That sentence was a little long-winded. From now on I'll be more Abb-rupt. Here's what I like about this one: (1) It's the original and that makes it awesome (2) It's literally right across the street from Ontario State Beach aka Charlotte Beach - - - which is by the way one of the best beaches in the country that I've been to (3) The servers are pretty friendly (4) Their vanilla custard tastes as fresh and creamy as the best Abbott's locations (5) Their Lemon Sorbet is one of the most delicious Lemon things I've ever eaten (6) Starlight came here with me so I have a sentimental attachment to it (7) The cone wasn't stale or hard like some of the Abbott's have (8) Did I mention they have custard But this place is not Abb-solutely perfect. There's a flip side. Here's what I didn't like: (1) Nowhere indoors to sit so if it's hot, your sh** melts really f***ing fast (2) Some people swear in their reviews, and use asterisks to mask it (3) The baby size really is a baby size, here. For $3 I didn't get a lot of custard (4) Baby sizes in general in Rochester are overpriced. Always $3 ish (5) The vanilla custard wasn't frozen enough... it was runny and melty right away The girls here are cute though. I think they wear Abbotcrombie & Fitch. And New Kids On The Block had a bunch of hits. So that's about everything but let me reiterate, o.m.g. not only was the Vanilla Custard here amazing, but the Lemon Sorbetttttttttt is soooooooooo gooooooooooooddddddddd. There, I said it. It's a milky sorbet, not a citrusy fruity sorbet. Which means I would usually not like it. But it just tastes so incredibly good. Now like magic, we're going to switch to more broad information. Abbott Cadabra. And here is some general chain info for you: Abbott's is the best local custard chain in America (or at least it's right up there). Abbotts/Bill Grays share space like Taco Bell/KFC do in many places. However this location is only Abbott's. There is no Bill Grays. So it's all about the custardishness. And this is the original Abbott's which is awesome. Doesn't custard kind of look like what gets produced when you self-Abb-use? Well not if you drink enough water, actually. It's one of my "best 5 custards I've ever had." I think I like custard more than ice cream, more than fro yo, less than real gelato. For custard specifically, which is sort of like soft-serve-but-creamier, the best in the country are Leon's in Milwaukee and Nielsen's in Vienna, VA, and then Abbott's in 3rd. I hate to run off and Abb-andon you but I have to go and do p**is exercises, to make sure my thingy remains in Abb-undance.

Well if your looking for a great spot to have some of Rochester's favorite ice cream then you need to drive down to Charlotte ! The custard is so smooth and creamy it's the best around! There are other novelties such as flying saucers , frozen bananas and awesome shakes. Plenty of parking . Then take a walk on the pier afterwards or even swim at the beach across from Abbott's!

You can order outside or at the window

Came here after a nice long walk in the summer heat from Turning Point Park. Ordered the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich, which I am a big fan of (along with the Oreo sandwich). However, their freezers need to be at a warmer setting for the the ice cream sandwiches so they can be ready for customers to eat right away. They are served to you hard as rocks. You may lose a tooth if you attempt to eat it too soon. While my friends were able to eat their ice cream cones right away, I had to wait an excruciating 10 minutes for my sandwich to soften enough to be edible.

My strawberry shake was the best I ever had. It was super thick, and was packed with fresh strawberries pieces. I ordered a small and it was still too much for me. My BF ended up finishing it. He loved it as much as I did. He said that is what he is going to get next time. He did not like his banana and strawberry shake as much as he likes my order. I tasted it. It was good. It just wasn't fabulous like mine. He ordered a large and it tasted like just Banana, and was not as thick as mine, and no fruit pieces. The cost for both was around 20.00. A little pricey for us on a regular basis, but nice for a special treat. I love the place itself, and tried their seasonal hot apple in a pastry puff, with cold Vanilla ice cream. That was amazing as well. They have a drive through, and walk up window. Most people seem to prefer the walk up window. They have picnic tables, to eat at. Plenty of space. A great place for a date night, special occasion, or night out with the kids. They have homemade Ice cream and shakes, seasonal items, and ice creams they don't make too. It's nice to drive by and seeing flocks of people of all ages, enjoying this place. While it might be the priciest ice cream place in town, they are definitely the best, cleanest, and friendliest. My pictures are a bit lame, because we went through the drive through. But I will get pics of their ice cream next time. But I highly recommend them. OMG! I haven't even finished my review and we've already been back. Ordered the exact same shakes. We both ordered them extra thick. And Voila!!! His was just as tasty and filled as fruit as mine. So That's the ticket right there folks!! Order them EXTRA THICK!!! Your welcome

We got a waffle cone with strawberry, vanilla, and Southern banana pudding--a dreamy combo of fruity, creamy goodness. The banana pudding flavor? Total standout. Tastes like summer in a scoop. We also had a waffle bowl with mint chocolate chip and New York cheesecake. Minty, chocolatey, cheesecake-y perfection. Every bite was rich, fresh, and super satisfying. Huge shoutout to the staff--our server was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful while we were making our (tough!) flavor decisions. You could tell they really enjoy what they do, and it made the experience even sweeter. Will definitely be coming back.

Schaller's is known for their giant buckets of pickle chips you can help yourself to. Served in a to go box, my meal was as follows: the base is crinkle cut fries and macaroni salad, topped with a cheeseburger patty, then they add "hot sauce" which is a spicy meat chili and then onions, and mustard on top. It is for sure a heartburn city and it was perhaps two pounds of food. I did some damage here, not just to the food but probably to my diet. There was so much here that I skipped breakfast. The woman who was apparently responsible for being the only employee to serve both ice cream and pastries on a busy night was heard telling prior customers that they could get only one flavor ice cream with the small size and two flavors with the medium size. When it was my turn to order, I ordered the large size, thinking I could get 3 flavors. Nope, she said I could only try 2 flavors with the large, and that I am not allowed to have 3 flavors. I asked why, and this only seemed to make her ruder, as she then asked if she could serve the two people in line behind me. I don't know if she was of sound mine, because I cannot fathom how she thought it would be acceptable to serve the people in line behind me. I can only assume me she was trying to take her rudeness up to the next level so that I would get upset and leave. This young woman (a teenager?) has a lot to learn about customer service and customer psychology, because if course I told her it is not acceptable to first set e the customers in line behind him. My response appeared to catch her off guard, because she stammered and mumbled a sarcastic respond respond nse, and repeated it twice more, in case I did not hear her the first or second time. As a member of a 5th generation Rochester family, I have to say I am finding the current generation of high school and college age employees to be clueless and entitled. Many, like the one at Oriens Cafe, do not appear to care about their employer's business, as they discourage customers from returning, as a result of horrendous customer service. I am voting with my wallet, and never again will I give my business to Oriens. I will get my ice cream from Pittsford Dairy Farms, whose young employees have always been professional and provide good customer service. They motivate me to return often, as my business there seems appreciated, and they serve you literally twice the amount of ice cream for the same price.
