I roamed the floor for a bit and found it had multiple areas and a large bar section. The vibe is really good. Multiple seating arrangements, with banquets and tables. Our party of 4 sat at a table in a center area and still felt comfortable and not overly exposed. We were able to converse well and not be drowned out by traffic or noise. The service was outstanding and very professional. Attentive but not overbearing. We ordered drinks, appetizers, main course, and dessert. Everything was delicious and presentation was wonderful. We will definitely be returning soon!

My spring rolls came sauceless and were fairly basic and cabbage-y, but a decent way to round out a meal. I appreciated their thorough vegetarian labeling; of course some things were not available to me that I wish they would make vegetarian, but the most important thing is being able to make informed decisions. I skipped the ma po tofu this time, but they claim it offers genuine numbing sensations and they did enough to convince me that it might be worth coming back to try.

Oh, and shout out to the owner's dad, who is in his 90s and makes the bread, a rich sourdough, served warm, that has a 50 year old starter at its essence. Yum. We did the wine pairings and I def recommend. Some really good wines, curated from small vineyards globally, matched perfectly and well presented. The sommelier nailed it. We also just loved the service. Nice touches pre arrival, they are expecting you when you arrive and there's a lovely personal touch and welcoming feel. The ambience is warm, and you can hear and talk and it does feel like you're at a dinner party with friends and family. Finally, shout out to the chefs and servers. Knowledgable, conversational, and charming. We really enjoyed the Chef's Counter and the entire experience. Kudos to Chef Jon Krinn and his family for creating this masterpiece of a restaurant. I mean the Foie Gras (sp??) - I don't even really like the stuff, put the way they sauteed it, put it on top of some sort of savory cake and slathered it with this balsamic gastrique - it was like bacon and pancakes smothered in maple syrup just amplified to 100. Bottom line: I would eat this every day (and amplify my weight by 100 too). The snow crab, I don't know if it's the care in selecting the product or the techniques used to prepare it (probably both ), but they packed so much crab flavor into that dish! And the dark chocolate cheesecake, it was magic that can make something so dark, so bold, so rich feel so light when you are eating it. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

After he left, Chef Tracy O'Grady admirably revived it with creative new menu concepts, and under Chef Danny Ahn the brand has now expanded to a Reston location. Through it all, bartender Victor has been a steady, caring presence -- even as service slowed and courses started taking a long time to arrive. After one visit where we waited 50 minutes for dessert, we stayed away for a while. We decided to come back to celebrate our anniversary. The new manager, Jeff Miller, and the rest of the staff greeted us warmly, but the dining room was nearly empty, and the air conditioning was set to meat-locker levels. Victor had the day off. Clarity is known for a daily-changing tasting menu, and we were looking forward to that night's advertised special -- giant tiger prawns, lobster and black truffle risotto, and venison. Instead, we were handed a menu with octopus, cod loin, and duck -- solid dishes, but standard fare you'll find at plenty of restaurants in the area, not the standout the website promised. We ordered from the regular menu instead. For appetizers, we each got the grilled Wellfleet and Old Salt oyster platter. For entrées, my spouse ordered the yellowfin tuna with tiger shrimp; I asked if I could get the Maryland soft-shell crabs as an entrée with two crabs instead of one. The waiter said no and suggested I add a sweet corn bisque to round out the meal. When he mentioned to the manager that we were unhappy, Jeff offered to plate two crab appetizers together for double the appetizer price. I happily agreed. The manager explained that website updates were no longer handled in-house, that the tasting menu posted online hadn't actually been available for months, that other guests had complained about the same thing, and that the takeout/pickup menu was also wrong -- to the point that he' had just contacted customers to tell them their online orders couldn't be fulfilled. Service was slow, and the waiter never told us which oysters were Wellfleet and which were Old Salt. To kitchen's credit, the portions were generous, properly cooked, and genuinely tasty. The dessert menu seemed uninspired, so I asked about a double shot of Angel's Envy rye instead. It had always been reasonably priced when Victor poured it -- generously, too. This time, I overheard the manager quote the waiter $56. A 750ml bottle (25 oz) currently retails at Virginia ABC for about $75, or $3/oz -- so $56 for a double shot works out to about $18.67 per ounce. I said that wasn't acceptable. At that point, the manager repeated, for the fourth time, that he was still on the phone trying to get the website fixed. I told him his reiterated efforts might help future diners, but it didn't help us that evening. He said Victor had trained him and that he was charging what Victor would charge -- I told him I didn't believe that, since Victor had always been fair and accommodating. I also said that as the manager overseeing service, he should be checking the website' daily for accuracy himself. He then offered to pay for my "cocktail" out of his own pocket. Before I could point out that a shot of whiskey isn't a cocktail, my spouse asked him to just leave us alone. We paid and left feeling genuinely sad to see a restaurant we loved fall this far.

I don't live in the area but visit monthly for work and usually hang out for dinner before hitting the highway to avoid traffic. Today was my first time at Artie's and I'm already thinking about when I can make it back there. The food was delicious!!! Given its location in a little strip mall-ish kind of place you wouldn't think you would get such wonderful food. I had the Firecracker Shrimp as an appetizer and then the crab cakes with fries and slaw. I don't usually eat slaw and was actually planning to eat around it but it looked so good I decided to try a bite. And much to my surprise it was amazing! Our server Josh was wonderful...pleasant, professional, didn't hover over us or leave and never come back. He seemed to time his visit to our table just right! I realize that this is a large company restaurant which also has Jackson's, Sweet Water, and Coastal Flats... I usually don't go to many "Chain" restaurants so with this being said... I feel like Artie's is a one of a kind neighborhood restaurant with wonderful food and service and is great, the atmosphere reminds me of stepping back in time to a good meal, with a large amount of food that you can easily share. My husband really loved the Prime Rib, and I usually can't decide between the BBQ ribs or the crab cakes. Last time I had the crab cakes and I was really impressed, we were took some friends and they were equally as impressed as we were! Our beverages were delish too! So, brunch is a very underrated meal. I fell in love with it when I went to Boston with some cousins and found out such a meal actually existed. My favorite brunch meal has two courses. It starts with an entree and ends on a sweet note. I ordered eggs florentine and a belgian waffle and of course a glass of milk to go along with it. I must say, it was probably th best hollandaise sauce I have ever had and the spinach was simple with a touch of salt and pepper that did not over power the taste of the egg. We recently had lunch at one of the Great American Restaurants, Artie's, and we always leave satisfied every time we come here. The food is excellent, made with fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with balanced flavors. The steaks were perfectly grilled, and the crabcake was delicious as usual. This is our family's go to place for Sunday brunch. Their Sunday offers (crab caks, steak, fried chicken, etc.) are the same every week. I have tried most of the dishes and they are all tasty and freshly made. The pastry that comes before the meal are so delicous. Their hostesss know what they are doing, and always take reservation efficiently and able tell you exactly how long you had to wait, if you call ahead (which is recommended). GREAT food and terrific service. The interior are casual but very well done as well. I'm a huge fan of the seafood here, but the steaks I've had have also been pretty much perfect. We've had dinner and lunch many times, and never once had there been a dish we'd consider sub-par. As a result, Artie's is very popular and they do not like to take reservations. Crowds are common and significant, and plan on waiting a while for a table even if you "call ahead" to get your name on the list. read more

The food was pretty good, and they were being COVID conscious, which is a positive. I'm a classic American gal so I love classic American food. This place isn't the nicest place but it's pretty darn nice for the food and prices. I like good deals and the best bang for the buck. I come here about once a month and I always get the chicken tenders. It is so delicious. I tried making it myself, but now I just stick to the pros and order this with a side of coleslaw and veggies. Fried calamari appetizer is the bomb! Beef ribs Wednesday special is delicious it is my only choice that day. My wife loves trying new things and every choice of hers have been a winner. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the fact that I have gone a few times and they seemed to always be out of the one dish I want. But hey, theres plenty of others to choose from. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and friendly, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The menu offered a wide range of options, making it easy for everyone to find something they loved. Came in for a quick meal with my boyfriend and my daughter the other day. Our server, a redhead in his twenties, reeked of marijuana and seemed to be in a funk. He messed up my order and fixed it, but his attitude was unapologetic. Food was pretty good, and my steak came out right the second time around. read more

Of course, I had to get the Ozzie rolls which are basically warm donuts w/honey butter-- how can you go wrong with that? I ordered iced tea, which was fine,and my friend got a beer. All in all it was very nice. The staff seemed friendly. I just love the interiors of these restaurants with the unique artwork. I wish I could buy some. Their iron sculptures in here and the huge fish are adorable. This is located within Tysons I so parking is very easy.

We all agreed that the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was excellent and the potatoes were served hot and tasted great. I was the only one drinking alcohol and had the spiked cherry mimosa. Started our really tart.... Ended? Well... I drank 4 of them! LOL! 'Nuff said! I did not find out until after we left the restaurant that both my daughter and my friend felt like their steaks were bit overcooked, but to the restaurants defense, neither one of them told our waiter what temperature they would like to have it cook to and so I, and they, agreed that they both had enough experience eating in steakhouses to know to ask a steak to be cooked to whatever temperature they preferred. So this is not on anybody except them. I would ask the restaurant in the future to instruct their wait staff to ask anyone ordering steak,regardless of size, what they're preferred temperature is. That being said they said that the flavor of their steak was still excellent! It was my first time here and will certainly not be the last! I am a very, very picky eater and this is one of the best meals that I've enjoyed top to bottom in a long time!

We tried the Pan Seared Sea Bass and the Seafood Cioppino as well as the Calamari to start. Unfortunately they did not have the ribs despite its coming at the start of dinner. The Sea Bass was cooked well but not much seasoning, mostly the lemon sauce. We were told the Seafood Cioppino was spicy but there really not much spice at all. The Calamari was solid though. The vibe of the restaurant seemed more business so might have not been the right choice for a birthday dinner. No one acknowledged or asked about special occasions (I don't care since it was for me, I didn't make the reservation). The food was ok but I'm not sure I'll be dying to come back.

We also got the broiled oysters and other happy hour menu items. We never got to go inside, since it was a lovely day and we sat outside! This meant it was quieter and chill vibes, which we liked. Be warned though that if it's around sunset, the sun will be directly setting on you. The service was also really great and quick. She was on top of checking on us and taking our orders when we wanted more happy hour bites.

What was I thinking?! I ended up ordering a plain cold brew and mixed most of it to the drink to tame the sweetness. Other than this, it was a nice drink. Chicken & Waffle is all about that combo taste of sweet and savory! Good dish! I ordered the fish and chips - now I know that the Silver Diner is not a seafood restaurant, but the reality in my opinion is that fish and chips is an easy dish to make. I have enjoyed fish and chips at more restaurants than I can count, including some of the world's finest seafood on a recent trip to Iceland. My fish at the Silver Diner had the thickest and most dense breading that I have ever had! It was terrible to me. There was nothing about the breading that was light - it was way too thick, too glutinous, and the fish was substantially overcooked to the point of being dry. The fish and chips were served with a cup of chicken soup which was mediocre at best - under seasoned. We did start dinner with an appetizer of fried shrimp seasoned with a bit of Old Bay. It actually tasted very good but again the shrimp were very sadly overcooked which made them tough and chewy. So the food is definitely not for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a discerning taste. I also consider the food here very expensive relative to some other nearby restaurants that provide some truly great food at a much better price point.
