We ordered 3 meals and all the meals were delicious. They have good selection of items in the menu and always adding new and adventurous items seasonally. It's always comfortable and enjoyable to come and dine here.

As per usual, another great experience at this classic Silver Diner location! My breakfast was fantastic except for the bacon. It was too maple/sweet flavored. However, it was an incredible value, only $14 and the meal truly filled me up and was enjoyable. The service was great. I always appreciate the classic retro ambiance of this location.

A true Northern VA gem -- Silver Diner! If you grew up loving that nostalgic 90s diner vibe, this place hits all the right notes! I've been a loyal fan of both the Fairfax and Herndon locations for years, and honestly -- they never miss. From the retro décor to the menu that caters to every kind of diner -- heart-healthy, low-cal, vegetarian, and even halal options -- Silver Diner has something for everyone in the family (yes, even the picky eaters!). The quality is consistently top-notch and the service always warm. Honorable mention: their salmon entrées -- absolute perfection So if you're traveling through Northern Virginia or just can't decide where to eat, take my advice -- go to Silver Diner. You'll walk out happy, full, and probably humming along to some good old diner tunes.

Yes, these are booster seats your kids use at the restaurant. I didn't see the server wiping the seats before or after the usage.

Food and servers are always friendly and good but their handling of certain items seriously need to be addressed. They left the boosters seats after each use on the floor near the bathroom door. That's just nasty !

After several visits, love coming to Silver Diner at Fairfax. The retro diner vibe is really cool, especially the little jukeboxes on the tables. The place is always clean and well kept, and the menu has a lot of choices whether you want a full meal, sandwich, starters, or dessert. Honestly, every time I eat here the food is good and I leave satisfied. Big thanks to Jasmine and all the servers for the amazing service and being so friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots around Fairfax.

I've always passed this place, and have been meaning to try it. Tonight was the night! Restaurant has a retro diner feel that I feel they got on the dot. It is a very casual place to dine in. Family friendly, and service was friendly and quick. We waited about 10-15 minutes for our food to come out. I tried one of their burgers, and my husband had the flat iron steak. Flavor was good, and I could tell the quality of the ingredients from my first bite. We asked for a medium rare steak, but it ended up coming out medium. My burger I asked for a little more pink but only got a little pink. Not a deal breaker, but just something to consider if you're planning to dine in and order one of those items. My burger entree was so big that I did not even touch the fries, and I was quite satisfied with that for $18.99. I do plan to visit again to try their breakfast offerings!

Very busy for a weekend breakfast, but the service was good. Our table didn't have a little jukebox selector, and I'm not sure if those even work. Prices are a little high (this ain't your average diner) but there are good options. The seasonal apple-pie stuffed French toast has a great combo of roasted apples, pomaganate seeds, and cream in the middle. A small upgrade lets you round the meal out with eggs and meat. The acai Icelandic yogurt is a filling, low-cal, fruity and granola medley over yogurt (which wasn't my favorite yogurt, but the topping variety made it nice.) It was a good breakfast option.

I use to love Silver Diner's chicken maple sausage patty. Now, they changed it to a link sausage. It is horrible. It looks like saw dusk, and I have no word to describe its taste. Please, bring back the patty.

Food and service were great! We celebrated Silver Diner's 35th Anniversary with the special dinner meal for $35 - an appetizer and two full size entrees with two sides each. It was a great deal! My husband loves the Kickin Crab & Corn Chowder. He gets it every time we eat at Silver Diner and it's consistently good. We shared the Buffalo Wings with sauce on the side and they were meaty and flavorful. Hubby ordered the Flat Iron Steak that was tender and juicy with blue cheese melting on top with french fries, onion strings and asparagus. The onion strings are so light and crispy that I couldn't stop eating them. I had perfectly Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Lemon Garlic Sauce on the side and mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I've had the Salmon several times and am never disappointed. Fairfax is our fav location!

Caramel French Toast without Caramel drizzle

Came here on a Sunday with my husband because I was craving French toast. It's an authentic 50's diner with all of the accurate decor to match; they even have working jukeboxes at each booth to play music throughout the restaurant, which I thought was pretty cool. We were seated promptly even though it was a busy day/time, and were greeted warmly. Our server Sebastian did a wonderful job explaining the menu and the flexitarian focused concept menu. He also was always kind, quick to respond, and was nothing short of excellent. I ordered the caramel drizzle French toast without the caramel, for us to split and my meal was the Bison Huevos Rancheros. My husband ordered the American Favorite, which is your typical diner breakfast fare with eggs, bacon, home fries and a biscuit. My huevos rancheros was amazing! From the quality of the eggs to the seasoning of the bison meat mix, along with the guacamole, goat cheese and salsa; I can safely say every single ingredient was not only fresh and tasty on its own, but also was a perfect mix of ingredients and flavor. I dream about that dish and can't wait to get it again. My husband liked his meal but wasn't too impressed with it, and honestly neither was I. The eggs were fresh, but the home fries were dry and bland. The biscuit was ok on the inside but too dry as well. The French toast that I was so excited to try disappointed me because it was overcooked, dry and not fresh. There was also not enough syrup to go with all five slices. I do appreciate that they have cage-free eggs and that the menu is mostly focused on healthier food options. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars due to the excellent service and the Huevos Rancheros, but until they learn to properly prepare the most basic diner fare for a DINER, I cannot. I will try their other menu items, as well as the Huevos Rancheros again, but I hope they improve their simple diner food. TLDR: Their service is awesome, the decor is cool, and their unique items are delicious, but they need to step it up with their regular diner fare.

Love diners and diner food, America needs to bring back more of these. Food was outstanding! Biscuits and gravy were awesome, and coffee was fresh. Service was excellent, inside is nice and clean. Waitstaff was prompt and courteous. Overall great place to grab some food!

Enough parking, short waiting, always a good table/booth and fast service. Delicious breakfast and lunch, Shakshuka is my favorite....!This place is always a good option for a wide variety con combinations in the morning but also at night.

Is there any way to discover how many calories are in a dish? I was thinking of the triple decker club specifically (with fries).

Youd need an exact list of ingredients, oils and sauces used etc. or look up a similar item at someplace like dominos or a sub restaurant

All of our eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns had the perfect crisp, and most notably - their fries?! That crunch and potato/batter ratio was chef's kiss! Note: you can sub the salad for fruits which we both did for our Benedicts, pic not shown I would love to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, the service was quite slow. I ran out of water so I tried to catch the eye of every single staff member there, raising my hand, and absolutely no one looked my way. Our server eventually brought food to the table next to us so I was able to flag her down. Other than that, the place was cute and I'd come again!

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.
