Driving from St Louis to Nashville, Paducah was a good place to stop for lunch. This Cafe and bakery was wonderful. Great service and super hand crafted food. Had the fried green tomatoes Sammy and the beef veggie soup. Both excellent as was the side fruit salad. Parking is right outside. It's ten minutes from the interstate but worth the detour. And you'll be able to say you've been to Paducah. read more

CCHS class of '83 hired Artesian Kitchen to cater our 40 class reunion. The food was delightful. We had plenty of food for the number of plates we bought. We were thankful for all the great choices for our vegetarians as well as our meat eaters. The salads were tasty and arranged beautifully. The meat was tender and well flavored. My favorite, of course, were the tiny desserts. The staff was friendly, accommodating and had impeccable service. We want to thank you for catering our event. We loved it. read more

My mother and I went to Artisan Kitchen yesterday for lunch during our quick visit to Paducah for the quilt show. I had the chicken and dumplings soup which came with homemade croissant. All the wonderful carbs! You could definitely tell the dumplings were homemade as well. It was a great soup for a cold day. While I really enjoyed the food, there were a few environmental issues that really need to be addressed. Just approaching the restaurant there really wasn't a clear entrance. We ended up walking into the bakery area after passing by what turned out to be the restaurant door. During my meal I saw a number of other people so the same. Second of all, it was freezing! While it was a chilly day outside, the air conditioning was going full blast. When we brought up the issue with the wait staff the air was turned off immediately. But 20 minutes later it was going full blast. Directly on our table. The other things that really brought it down a star for me was just how closely the tables are grouped against the wall. It was fine when there was someone every other table. Unfortunately, two ladies sat next to my table and I could literally hear ever word of their entire lunch. This in turn made it hard to enjoy my lunch! While the restroom location is awkward (through the kitchen area) the signage is well located and the restrooms are clean. I like the mural they are working on! I found it (a little too) convenient the bakery is attached to the restaurant. I bought a slice of the mudslide cheesecake, which was served to me in a plastic to-go container even though I was eating it in the restaurant. I think they should definitely have a few slices of cheesecake in to-go containers but also keep a few slices to be plated for restaurant patrons. Excellent food and service. We stopped on way back to st louis from vacation. It was a few minutes off the highway and well worth it. Gluten-free free bun available for sandwiches and my turkey club was good. Gluten-free free cookie was also good. They have a great menu, atmosphere, and great staff. Soft bread, flavorful pork and fantastic apple apricot chutney all came together awesomely. Side of cranberry walnut slaw and tomato basil soup. Topped it off with mojito ice tea. Wonderful food. Tempura Tangier's sandwich just the right amount of crunch. The coleslaw was the bomb. We were just passing through to the quilt museum and were fortunate to find the place for lunch. Absolute yum. BLT with thick slab of perfectly cooked bacon served with freshly fried green tomatoes, delicious tomato soup, and a Greek salad with roasted Turkey. Me and my husband stopped by this place on the way to Grand River for a weekend. I had tomato basil soup and Tempura Tangler sandwich. My husband had catfish sandwich and potato salad. We needed to eat lunch in Paducah as we were traveling from St. Louis to Nashville. We wanted to try a locally owned restaurant and skip the chain options. This place is amazing!!! We tried the Three Pig Sandwich and the Southern BLT (fried green tomatoes ON the sandwich). Both so good! On the way out we picked up some lemon and Black Forest bars from the bakery case. Their website lists "vegan/vegetarian options" which is very far from the truth unless you want a salad of raw vegetables. All bread has an egg wash, and most things are buttered or battered, so very little fits this description. 3 stars because my waitress was very helpful to come up with at least something I could eat. My meat-eating friends really enjoyed their meal. I think A.K. should remove this from their website or at least come up with (come one, it's not that hard, its 2019) some vegetarian options which can also be made vegan. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for options. read more

We walked in the bakery door instead of the café door, and it took awhile to make it past the deli cases filled with delectable looking treats. We ate lunch first. Hubby had the special of the day, a pulled pork sandwich with Asian slaw (contains peanut butter--the server said, but couldn't taste it) on a weird bun with broccoli salad. I had a chicken salad sandwich with potato salad. Everything was interesting and good with generous portions. So we had to get our desserts to go, which gave us an excuse to buy a few more (for later). The pecan pie bar was excellent, as were the cookies. Life-changing salads! We had the kale & quinoa salad with salmon, and the autumn salad. The kale salad was perfectly flavored and creatively composed. The autumn salad's bacon bits and creamy maple dressing were standouts. And both salads came with an amazing croissant. I always make it a point to stop in at Artisan Kitchen whenever I'm in the area for work. I've tried several different things on the menu, and I've never had a bad experience. Their ingredients are always very fresh and flavorful. Service is always excellent. One of the best restaurants in Paducah. Bonus: they have amazing deserts as well. read more

On a mission for something sweet, I stopped here and purchased cookies. The blood orange and cranberry cookie turned out to be my favorite. Such a unique combination of sweet and slightly tart, this soft, flavorful cookie melts in your mouth! Here in Paducah to buy a car and found Artisan Kitchen on Yelp. Hands down DELICIOUS! Got the tender melt sandwich with tortellini pasta. Everything is made onsite. The sandwich was SO GOOD we both were glad we found this gem. Had dessert as well from the sweet shop. The bourbon pecan pie was great with more than a hint of bourbon. We're in KY after all! So i picked up my strawberry cheesecake today and to my great surprise. The cheesecake looked great and tasted even better well worth the price it's huge and could feed 8-9 people. The cheesecake is rich yet light and full of flavor and the Grahamcracker base has a buttery finish. Our family stopped here on a trip between Nashville and St. Louis. The food is delicious and unique, a lovely change from fast food on a road trip. However, the best part was being invited to watch one of the bakers (Frank) make hoagie rolls. We chose to go to Artisan Kitchen and let me tell you I LOVED it! I would spend every meal of my trip here if I could! My Mamaw even asked what time they closed as she was wanting to come back for dinner. (They close at 2:00pm on Saturdays by the way.) The ingredients were fresh, the menu inventive, the staff was lovely and the food was delicious! I ordered the portobello brie sandwich with tortellini salad. My Mamaw ordered the turkey cranberry sandwich with a side of fresh fruit and my Mom ordered the fried green tomato sandwich with fresh fruit. After we finished eat we were told we could venture through the doorway into the bakery for dessert... GO GET THE DESSERT!!! I ended up with a chess bar, derby bar and chocolate cookie to go. At the last minute I chose to try a slice of the chocolate covered strawberry cake to go back to my table with. It was totally worth it! I'm not a big cake fan but this one was one that I will dream about later. read more
