They removed excessive tree roots, trenched and built a sturdy retaining wall to protect the tree, regraded the yard to ensure proper slope for water runoff, and created two attractive flower beds with enriched soil and black mulch. They laid sod across multiple curb strips and the front of the house, carefully blending seams and finishing edges. Ernesto was quick to respond and had a telephone conversation with us regarding our project. Within a week Ernesto came out to do a site walk and get an in-depth understanding of our project and vision. We had worked with an independent designer on our back yard project, so we had detailed drawings, measurements and visual renderings for Ernesto to work with. Ernesto provided the initial estimate within a week. Ernesto worked diligently with us to provide what we wanted in our budget. Ernesto is a Class A licensed contractor registered with VA DPOR. He pulled all applicable permits and coordinated all inspections for our project. It took about 3 months to complete our 3300 sqft patio. The scope of the project was quite large: - 55 yards of concrete for the patio - Natural Stone Walls - 50 Tru-Scape Lights - 100-amp outdoor service panel for all electrical - 60 Amp disconnect for swim spa - Installation of 12 outlets - Installation of Ceiling Fan Pre-wires - Assembly and Installation of 12 x 24 Gazebo - Installation of Trex Steps/Rail/Lighting Jaime, the foreman for the day-to-day tasks was amazing. We also had the team replace a large concrete section of our driveway. During each project, the team was courteous of the property and cleaned up the area well. Leo did a great job on the recommendations and estimates, and provided clear and concise explanations/updates each work day. VM Drainage is very responsive on updates and questions through phone calls or emails (thanks Nathalia and Leo)! Highly recommend for french drain solutions and concrete placement!

We have been in communication with VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions since March 12, 2026 regarding…read moreproblems with two projects which they completed on our home. In 2021 they completed a waterproofing project which carries a 12 year warranty, and in 2022 they completed a patio installation which carries a 5 year warranty. As of April 22, 2026, VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions has not provided a solution to either of these problems. Our foundation wall was bowed before VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions excavated and waterproofed our home in 2021. We showed the bowed wall to VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions before the excavation began, and they recommended proceeding with the project without reinforcing the wall. We began to see small cracks in the foundation wall shortly after VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions completed the waterproofing. We showed the cracked wall to VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions before they installed our patio in 2022. VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions assured us that the cracks were not a problem. However, the cracks have grown substantially since then, and an independent structural engineer has confirmed that the wall is failing. In addition, the patio is sinking, the exterior waterproofing membrane is slipping, and there is a damp smell in our home near the cracked wall. In order to provide access to the cracked foundation wall for repairs, our patio will have to be removed, and the exterior of our home will have to be excavated again. Once the engineer's recommended repairs have been completed, the wall will have to be waterproofed again, and our yard will have to be regraded again. Finally, our patio will have to be reinstalled. We paid VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions to do all of this work in 2021 and 2022 because we trusted their professional opinion about our foundation wall. We now have to pay another contractor to do all of this work again so that our foundation wall can be reinforced. VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions has stated that they will not honor the warranty on the waterproofing project because the man who estimated the project is no longer employed by VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions. They have not provided details about how they will honor the warranty on the patio installation. We will update our review if VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions honors the warranties on their work. In the meantime, we cannot recommend VM Drainage and Erosion Solutions.
